Report: Bucs Have A Demand

March 4th, 2020
Jason Licht

Standing firm.

So, “Days of our Bucs Quarterbacks” is getting steamy.

Yesterday on the BSPN program “Stay in Bed,” Josina Anderson broke Bucs news in relation to Decision Jameis 2020.

It seems, “from a Bucs source,” all options at quarterback are on the table and Anderson, to paraphrase Junior Soprano, claims the Bucs have told Jameis, “Next time you come, you come cheap or not at all.”

In the video below at the 3:00-mark, Anderson explains the Bucs will not give Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, a windfall of cash, and if Jameis tries to squeeze the Bucs for more Team Glazer loot, the Bucs will move on.

As you can also see in the video below, Dan Orlovsky is outraged that Jameis is an NFL quarterback and former NFL suit Mike Tannebaum forcefully says the Bucs should wave goodbye to Jameis.

Mike Greenberg and Anderson stick up for Jameis.

So as you just witnessed, what some folks believed all along may be true: last week’s public fawning over “Door No. 2” in Indianapolis before the assembled NFL Media was a power play by Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians and Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht. It means either Jameis discusses a team-friendly contract or he will be throwing pick-sixes elsewhere this fall.

Wonder what “Uncle June” would do with Jameis?

  1. Hethrew 30 Says:

This is just a bazillionth way to say what has been said before, and if it is a leak from a source, it is intentional. That said, no one in their right mind would pay Winston a lot of money at this point. Can’t think, can’t decide, can’t hit the right man enough, and now he’s damaged goods with that bum knee. Scrap heap. Backup QB for the Cleveland Browns.

  2. Defense Rules Says:

Jameis and his new agent need to know that if you’re gonna play poker with the big boys, you’d better know how to play poker.

  3. simsini Says:

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Tom Brady is coming to Tampa. He hates the current uniforms with the alarm clock numbers and is the reason for the uniform change. Get ready for TB in TB!

  4. El Buco Realisto Says:

The “real fans” already reported and discussed this topic weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s another much requested “REALIST REPOST”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    El Buco Realisto Says:

Ole stale biscuit has to be wondering how he got stuck in this situation!!!!!!! “Word on the street”, is that ole stale biscuit knows he can’t fix jay-miss!!!!! But he can’t jay-miss walk away, because then all the fans will ask why licht Wright is still the GM???? And why is stale biscuit here just to retire in a year!!!!! And why draft a new qb to fit ole stale biscuit’s when ole stale biscuit is leaving in a year or so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the only solution, was sign “blameless” cheap, and sign free-agent in hope that the roster was finally good enough to “DRAG” jay-miss to meaningful games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And when Jay-miss’s camp released that they wanted 30 million, ole stale biscuit was p!$$3[ !!!!!!!!!!!!! He was a new shade of purple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now ole stale biscuit sits in a “no win” situation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Hodad Says:

The reason Licht still has a job is because Mariota didn’t pan out either. Both QB’s were considered the top two picks in the draft that year. So Licht gets a mulligan there. In comes BA in a last ditch effort to save Winston, and he couldn’t do it. Arains didn’t draft Jameis, he came in to make him what the franchised hoped he’d be, but even the QB whisperer couldn’t do it. Not Arains fault Jameis is what he is a turnover waiting to happen. Now both JL, and BA’s necks are on the line. They need to draft the future of the franchise, and find the right vet who can win games now. Good luck.

  6. Bob in Valrico Says:

Last year was the year that BA was supposed to fix Jameis. This off season has been an effort to get a message to Jameis. We can’t win enough if you continue to turn the ball over at this rate. Without a competition and quality backup, BA must also take steps to get a quality backup who can compete with Jameis. So my concern is that we could still tie up 27 million to sign Jameis and have a backup who can win games.
I remember one game when Koetter was still here and Jameis was lecturing a rookie to take the checkdown. Unfortunately he struggled to complete passes in this all important area and was too easily fooled by defensive players.

  7. rrsrq Says:

Did you say Dan Orvlosky is outraged Jameis is an NFL QB
    Career NFL statistics
    Passing attempts:512 | Passing completions: 298
    Percentage: 58.2
    TD–INT: 15–13
    Passing yards: 3,132
    Passer rating: 75.3
    This guy right here

  8. Pete I Says:

Well he’s not worth big money nor even moderate money.

For me he isn’t worth any amount but the smartest guys in the room will still pay him some amount. Whatever that amount Jameis hasn’t earned it.

  9. Pete I Says:

“It means either Jameis discusses a team-friendly contract or he will be throwing pick-sixes elsewhere this fall.”

And if he does discuss a team-friendly contract then he will be throwing pick-sixes for Tampa this fall…

    What a choice!

  10. ModHairKen Says:

If Jamies’ 30+ TDs and 5,100 yards could not produce a playoff spot, why spend top dollar to bring him back?

He is not worth it. And no one else thinks so either. Rosenhaus is an idiot. But he’s not stupid.

  11. Bucfan81 Says:

We could always sign him as a backup and then actually go find a real starting QB. I mean we were going to give Mike Glennon 7 Million to play backup.

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

For me, it’s always been about the money……isn’t most every transaction in the NFL……the QB position is the most important….
You have to measure the player vs the money…..
$20 mil would probably get it done…..and would save $7 for another player.

  13. Bird Says:

#1 pick qb 2 cent brain

Rest assured you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to which Joe wrote what. –Joe

  14. Pewter power Says:

I don’t even want Winston and that sounds ridiculous to say

  15. Bird Says:

    Tampabaybucfan

Agree. I think around 20 mil is cut off.
They want to keep defense . They probably could at 20 with brate and a few other no ones gone

  16. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

“Thowing pick sixes somewhere else this fall” please.

  17. Bird Says:

Jameis best chance to play is here
The problem is he has been disrespected so is it good if they come to a deal and he stays?
I mean ryan “freaking “ fitzpatrick got in his head
This handling of him would destroy any relationship with bucs brass/coaching
So maybe its time to just move on. Get bridge qb and draft the next guy

  18. Sport Says:

JW is maddening. A close second is dopey Pessimist and at T Bag with their trolling tripe.

JW is getting exactly what he has earned. Don’t forget dude got paid $21M last year.

    In BA I Trust!

  19. Zzbuc Says:

If he comes comes cheap I have no problem re signing JW. Cheap means below his last year!
Brady will not come and there is nothing out there that seduces me……
If he demmands big money, well he can get the highway…./for sure.
We need to spend the money wisely….. mainly on the trenches and a solid RB.

  20. Jonzey Says:

Give Winston a prove it deal

  21. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

Jameis is goin to take a short term team friendly deal to come back. Year 2 of No risk it No biscuit.
He will bet on himself to win next year because he has that much faith and confidence in himself. Jameis is not the “all about the money ” guy. He knows the team is tryna lock in the talent around him, so he will do what’s best for the team TODAY. He and BA only have a couple more years together. So if it doesn’t work, He will leave along with BA and Jason Light and ME13 and LD45 and OJ Howard. Bucs winning next year with upgraded Oline, a better run game (No Peyton Barber) and that improved defense is a good bet to take. 2 or 3 more games and we were in.We had it. WE were right there last season…Go Bucs

  22. Allbuccedup Says:

One 15 mil prove it or see you would not want to be you.

  23. Formerly Tampa 2 Says:

Do the bucs want to pay 30mil to lose?
Do the bucs want to pay 25mil to lose?
Do the bucs want to pay 20mil to lose?
Do the bucs want to pay 15mil to lose?
The bottom line is that whatever the Bucs pay Winston, we are going to have a losing season if Winston is the Bucs QB. The last 5 years have proven this fact.

  24. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

No it will be something like a 3 year deal with 3rd year being a team option 20 million per year with incentives…less picks more money…playoffs more money…

  25. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

    @ Formerly Tampa 2
The coach Himself said he can win with Winston “No doubt about that” is what he said.

  26. Aaron Says:

I think the Bucs finally figured out that there’s not a big market for JW. Especially as a hand over the keys to the franchise QB – teams will bring him in on the cheap to compete…and that’s what the Bucs are telling him too.

My concern is if there’s one team that should know..its US…is he good enough to play or not? Crazy to say we’ll let him line up and throw picks for $15m (or less) vs $30m…I’d rather just move on period…and I like JW…I’d love to see JW in yr 2 of this offense with an improved running game. No way we can bring in other QB and tell them to throw 600+ times without a running game and most importantly without a viable play-action game…I can’t even imagine Bridgewater in this offense without play-action…Go Bucs – going to be a fun off-season.

  27. Buc believer Says:

Sure looks like Jameis will win multiple Super Bowls with a different team with a solid run game and better D. Bucs will trudge on with ANOTHER bad year under the WORST GM and ownership in the league.

  28. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

The Bucs would be NUTS (aka “the Bucs”) to keep America’s Grop…..errrr, Quarterback even if he played for free.

  29. Eric Says:

He also will be taking the league leading 5100 yards, and 33 tds with him.

  30. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    Maritota money is Jameis’s world

  31. Oneilbucs Says:

And still no one ever talks about him having a running game . This defense gave up a lot of points this year. I can’t wait until Jamies leave I hope it’s this year . And when the next quarterback comes in I don’t want to here about how bad his runningbacks are or defense . If we don’t make the playoffs it will be all his fault regardless how bad the team is around him . I’m going to sit back in laugh …

  32. tmaxcon Says:

It will be so enjoyable watching glazers, licht and senile BA screw this team up for another decade with a piss poor offseason.

Parole jameis… best thing for jameis is to leave tampa. He will never have a chance at sucess in Tampa. The Bucs franchise is the redneck trailer park of the nfl. That eye sore the rest of the nfl owners are embarrassed by. Watching jameis having success elsewhere while it takes this minor league franchise another 18 years to win a meaningful game will be priceless…..

You losers will be begging for the ghost of ray perkins after BA and his merry band of special needs coaches are done blowing this already embarrassing franchise up further…. dont worry though they have a kick ass fully funded retirement program from the most embarrassing owners in pro sports… actual results prove this….

  33. Big O Says:

I vote not at all let him go Jamies time with the bucs is over. Maybe jameis is a better fit somewhere else Don’t cheapen it by giving him an ultimatum just let him go let him go. The bucs have nothing to gain by offering him any kind of a deal. Less money, more money. Now you want to humiliate him by giving an ultimatum? Why doesn’t Licht take a pay cut. Since Licht has been GM. I haven’t seen major improvement

  34. stravenite Says:

Give Winston a prove it deal.

Prove what ? after five seasons of terrible turnovers we still don’t know, would not let him play on our team for zero, get a real QB in here, not MR Immaturity.

  35. tmaxcon Says:

    Formerly Tampa 2 Says

Do the bucs want to pay 30mil to lose?
Do the bucs want to pay 25mil to lose?
Do the bucs want to pay 20mil to lose?
Do the bucs want to pay 15mil to lose?

Glazers love paying tons of cash to lose… they gave cancer93 and his overrated mentally weak sidekick lvd well over 100 million to lose and collect 8 basement and a plethora of worst in nfl history defensive. Jameis a bargin at 27 milliin compared to the cash that pos fraud cancer93 was paid….

Jameis was 7 last time glazers bought a winning season

  36. gotbbucs Says:

Legit football people understand, talking heads just want to stoke the fire. Football people want to win games, talking heads want the roller coaster to continue so they have two or three minutes per show to talk about how funny Winston’s four interception games are.

  37. Formerly Tampa 2 Says:

Jameis #1 Fan, Are you serious? If the “QUARTERBACK WHISPERER” is searching for a new QB, I think that should tell you something. 5 years of losing is 4 years too long. Winston needs to go.

  38. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Hey Formerly, the Bucs had a 9-7 season with Jameis already. Last year if Gay makes two field goals they finish 2019 at 9-7. If the refs don’t blow a call in the TN game they are 10-6. I don’t want to hear the nonsense that you are what your record says you are. Gay lost two games and the refs a third. In the previous three years he had one of the worst defenses in the history of the NFL and zero running game. You don’t want Winston back because you can’t stand him and you know now that the defense has turned the corner he will lead the Bucs to the playoffs. You are hoping he is gone and that a game manager will be able to help the Bucs limp into the playoffs so you can blame it all on Winston’s turnovers.

  39. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

    @ Formerly Tampa 2
BA didn’t say he was looking for a new QB…That’s want you wanted him to say. He simply said as the Head Coach, you are supposed to do you do diligence to “see” if there is a “better” option…You are just a hater bro. Again, he clearly said ” we can win with Jameis”

  40. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

    @Touch Down Tampa Bay

    All Facts!

  41. Noles Says:

You see the Si mock draft has us trading up w Jets to 11 for Jordan Love. Giving up our 76th pick.. PLEASE….

He is JW minus the National Championship and Heisman…. I hope they stay clear of Jordan Love…

After watching his combine Jonathan Taylor would look real nice paired w Evans and Godwin…

  42. Bruce Blahak Says:

Dalton, Foles, Fitzpatrick, Tannehill, Rivers and a retired Eli would all be better options than the ongoing WinSTUNNED project….

  43. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Brady will not allow pictures of the GOAT in a creamsicle.

Any person with even the slightest knowledge of football and a drop of common sense knows that.

    1. Niners game. Lost 31-17. Points off Winston t/o: 15
    2. Panthers game. Lost 37-26. points off of Winston t/o: 16
    3. Titans game. Lost 27-23. Points off of Winston t/o: 14
    4. Saints game. Lost 34-17. Points off of Winston t/o: 14. Also had an int at the saints 1 yard line. Should’ve scored td. That’s actually 21 points lost.
    5. Colts game. Won 38-35. Points off of Winston turnovers: 14
    6. Texans game. Lost 23-20. Points off of Winston turnovers: 10 points. Also int on a game winning drive with 1:31 to go.
    7. Falcons game. Lost 28-22. Points off of Winston turnovers: 13 points. Pick 6 to end that game and perhaps his Buccaneers career.

Yes, the kicker missed kicks but come on! See the above. Winston cost double the games the kicker had. Don’t forget, 35 TURNOVERS WHICH LEAD TO 121 POINTS SCORED BY THE OPPOSING TEAMS!!!!!!!!

  45. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

    @Bruce Blahak

None of those QBs you named threw for 5000 yards and 30 TDs and also rushed for another 250….you sleep…hater

  46. tmaxcon Says:

you peoples hatred of jameis is clouding your judgement about the long term future of this franchise. buying into a washed up senile BS coach who has NEVER won or BUILT anything on his own just to get jameis out of town is priceless. BA is in Tampa for 1 reason and 1 reason only and that is to execute the Bad Character Lovie Friends and Family Retirement program that was so brilliantly implemented from dungy the clowns top protege bad character lovie smith. BA and his bandwagon of merry idiots are not here to win or think about tamap’s long term future they are here to pad accounts and make asinine public statements. Nothing more.

any of you fools who actually thinks brady and geisel would even consider tampa bay need to be locked up via the baker act immediately you are a danger to society being that ignorant….

  47. Eric Says:

So sad to think some Bucs fans actually believe Brady is an option.

    Ridiculous.

Reading between the lines the bucs didn’t tell Jameis they are moving on, just that they want a team friendly contract.

I can see Bruce wanting to try and make a run for a couple of years with Rivers, but could depend on how much he wants. Do you pay him 30 mill if you can get JW for 20? Brady would cost 40.

  48. Formerly Tampa 2 Says:

TouchDownTampaBay, Jameis #1, I don’t dislike Jameis as a person, but I certainly dislike the Bucs losing games because of him. I am simply a realist. And Winston is never going to change his ways. As a Bucs fan both of you should want the Bucs to win games, not keep a QB because you put him ahead of the team winning.

  49. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

You put a certified gun slinger in the NO RISK IT NO BISCUIT offense…picks are gonna happen…it’s a passing deep ball offense ….yall some sheep…

  50. Tval Says:

  55. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Jameis #1 fan you must be content with 8-8 seasons because that’s what the crotch grabbing crab stealer will lead us to… if the defense hold out.

  56. Couch Fan Says:

Of course picks are going to happen. Nobody said that picks shouldn’t happen. But leading the league in turnovers SHOULD NOT happen. No amount of your idiotic spin can change that fact. But keep tryin LMAO

  57. Brandon Says:

Jameis discusses a team-friendly contract or he will be throwing pick-sixes elsewhere this fall.

    _____

Whether you like him or hate him, you have to admit that is a great lone.

  58. SmoothBayRider Says:

You can’t win when your QB leads the league in TO . Opposing teams scored 112 points off of turnovers . 42 of those points were pick 6’s .

  59. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

    @Formerly Tampa 2

You say you are a realist, but keep saying Jameis lost you games…You not being rear that it’s a team sport. You not being real that we have had the worst defense for years, defense lost away more games then Jameis has in 5 years…check ya sheet bro.You not being real that Jason light passed on valuable talent in critical areas for us in 5 years…you not being real that we still don’t have a kicker that can give us at least 3points after Jamie’s throws us to the 30 with no running back help…Be real bro…stop being a follower…this is football…..You know how many QBs the Browns have had? You think just grabbing an old QB past his prime is the answer? Or a rookie who is gonna need his own 2-3 years to get the offense down? You sleep bro…wake up…

  60. SteveK Says:

This is not ACC football, Jameis can’t go out there and throw 3 INTs in the first half- like it’s against Louisville- and expect to comeback and win. The nfl is too good to allow for that kind of inconsistency to win out.

    —————–

I get it… and you’re right… kind of… he’s scoring points for us too, taking the team down the field… my point is… to hold him completely responsible for other teams scoring points off of his turnovers, shouldn’t we and all teams do to the same thing with punters? After all, a punt is a turnover. And a QB that doesn’t turn the ball over but leads the league in THREE AND OUTs is even worse than a turnover machine like Jameis… because honestly, all drives that don’t end in points, end in turnovers. And if you’re at least getting the ball down the field and possessing the ball as well as scoring points, that is way better than leading the league in punts, especially when your team can’t run the ball.

  63. Couch Fan Says:

I love how the fan boys jump all over everyone else for the slightest mistakes but say stupid things to defend Winston like “picks are going to happen”…. LMAO

  64. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

you are far dumber than I originally thought and that says alot.

  66. SteveK Says:

    Brandon,

    Not true!

Turnover margin only accounts for “mistakes”. Punts are not a mistake, just a result of the game.

And, think about what you are typing. Field position. If you have to punt, at least it flips field position, and the team is playing to give the ball back and stop the other team.

A turnover is much more volatile, bc it’s not planned- is a mistake- and flips offense to defense.

Remember the Rams game last year, Jameis’ Pick six to Marcus Peters. Donovan Smith damn near decapitated him as he went in the end zone.

Remember Sapp hitting Chad Clifton on an interception, and breaking his back?

Turnovers are far more worse, dangerous and volatile than a punt.

  67. Couch Fan Says:

When you constantly turn the ball over, losing is going to happen…

  68. Totally Exonerated Again Says:

Damn that Josina Anderson has a nice rack. Talk about #GetUp

  69. Jameis #1 Fan Says:

    @Couch fan

Peyton Manning threw picks Tom Brady throws picks…it is gonna happen…who they were playing, the division they were in, the number of coaches they had, and success of their defense and kicker also played parts into their success or failure sir…its not as black and white as you tryna make it…

  70. Pewter power Says:

2nd in turnover margin since 2015 about sums up the bucs. The New York Jets have one of the worst o lines on the nfl, one of the weakest receiving corps and bell rushed for about 50 more yards than rojo. The combination of sam darnold, trevor Siemian and Luke falk still only threw for 16 interceptions.

You cannot turn the ball over and win. The o line and run game are just excuses for a turnover prone quarterback.

It was easy for people to call josh Freeman that because he was from k state but people lose all objectivity on winston because we saw him in college even though he was a turnover machine there too

  71. Couch Fan Says:

But they never led the league in turnovers. Winston is nothing close to them. Just stop with your nonsense. Winston is a loss waiting to happen.

  72. 813bucboi Says:

sign JW to a “prove it deal”?……

damn, how many times does he get to “prove it”….lol….

    move on….sign bridgewater!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  73. Cobraboy Says:

    “Dear Jameis,

Come back with $15 or good luck.

    Love, Jason and Biscuit”

  74. LazyMoak Says:

Jamesi will not be returning, what part of that don’t you see

  75. BrianBucs Says:

What folks don’t realize is no matter how much or how little the Bucs pay Winston, or what his deal would actually look like has absolutely No bearing whatsoever on his game performance. He will still be throwing loads of interceptions and Pick 6’s and giving away games.

  76. Pewter power Says:

    Jameis #1 Fan says
Throwing the ball 50 plus times per game is what the coach asked him to do. Picks are gonna happen. Other coaches don’t ask that of there QB because the have a better run game

BA had been an offensive coordinator running his system since 2007 you mean to tell me this is the first time he’s thrown the ball this much or are you finally getting to watch his offense? Big ben had his first pro bowl in the first year of this offense, andrew luck went 11-5 and that team had the worst record in football thanks to peyton injury. I dont remember andrew luck’s running back Vick Ballard being some kind of offensive juggernaut.

Bottom line Winston is not the first choice and that is because of his turnovers not because the roster is weak. They are looking to resign their own guys and translation the only major change we need to compete besides the draft is quarterback. Sorry you winston defenders are delusional and I could see it if he wasnt known for bad decision making coming out of college but for some reason you act like the turnovers started once he came to the bucs and that is delusional

  77. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Wow.

    The stupid is strong above.

    • Anyone paying attention knows I was right, Brady will return to the Patriots
    • Bridgewater is trash, and Arians knows it
    • The Bucs will not trade directly for a QB under any circumstances
    • Anything learned from the Bucs right now is misdirection. We go through this every year and people buy into these things, only for things to turn out completely different
    • Haters embrace anything that promotes what they want

    Pewter Power,

“delusional”- great word choice. Fits perfectly.

By above, I meant all above. Not immediately above.

  80. mark2001 Says:

#1… Yes…Arians offense is traditionally a downfield higher risk Offense. But those short pick sixes? Please…no excuse for them.

And if Jameis does go, he leaves Evans and Godwin. So good luck matching those 30 touchdowns elsewhere.

  81. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The issue here is the Bucs must decide whether to risk moving on from Jameis. And by risk, I mean:

    • At 26, will Jameis finally mature on the field, because that is his main issue and the reason for his picks
    • Say they want to draft a QB so let Jameis walk. What if they do not get a shot at the QB they want?
    • What if the QB they want is Tua? Even if he somehow falls to them, he has already made it clear he needs to heal up for a year

Signing Rivers would buy them time…a year or two, but we don’t really know how much he is asking. If not Jameis, then Rivers is the best option currently available. For years he was considered one of the best in the league. He would be good to learn behind…and maybe, just maybe…he has it in him to make a final run.

Jay-Miss has no real leverage in this situation.

I have to agree with you there. While a few were tipped, most of those were on Jameis.

This is true. Absolutely no leverage.

    throw brady 100 mil over 3 years…all guaranteed…

and let the madness begin in tampa from top to bottom…

    get brady…and…here. we. go!

  86. adam from ny Says:

new gear sales, tv exposure, a packed house, etc., with the hottest ticket in town, will help cover all brady salary costs…

brady = wins in so many departments for the team…

one big game early from brady and all local detractors will jump on board…

brady might not want to deal with ole chucky at this point…

the chargers aren’t quite there yet…

bruce arians might be real cool for brady to deal with…possibly…

and the bucs are only a few pieces away if they add brady…

    a rb, a couple ol, a safety, possibly a de or dt…etc

if brady signs they’ll all be wanting in on the tampa revival !

  87. BoiseBucsFan Says:

Not sure if this means anything, but Jamies took down all references to being a Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB on his Instagram profile/title

  88. SC Bucs Fan Says:

BB you are quite the sage. After all you predicted and crowed about Brees to the Saints.

  89. NOLES Says:

    I can’t see Brady coming here….

Maybe Philip Rivers would and I would be good w that..

  90. Jerry Says:

I truly believe BA and JL want to keep Winston, but at a fair price. I think Winston needs to be realistic and when he proves he play without so many INT’s , then you pay him top dollar!

  91. SOEbuc Says:

Joe show me Pros/Cons of FA QB (despite age) like they did with Brady. Don’t give me national analysts opinion on Jameis. Give me info on available FA such as Rivers,Dalton, etc. I don’t even wanna talk rookies cus it’s all the same BS until you’ve stepped on the field. Info on what could look like in BA offense? Have they played in a similar offense and what were the findings? What did their all around teams look like before they were jetted?,etc. 33 TD/30INT is ridiculous and he put it on the money with the Jameis giving the apponent it’s first 14 points.

he will need a hell of a lot more than 100 million guaranteed to cover legal fees for his divorce if he tells Gisele he wants to play for small market irrelevant tampa bay buccaneers.

  93. Joe Says:

Joe show me Pros/Cons of FA QB (despite age) like they did with Brady. Don’t give me national analysts opinion on Jameis. Give me info on available FA such as Rivers,Dalton, etc.

Joe already has on Rivers/Dalton. Several times.

If you are looking for pros/cons of Rivers/Dalton with the Bucs from national analysts, there isn’t much out there. Certainly not interesting enough or compelling enough to write about.

  94. Robert Says:

@tmax….don’t sweat Gisele, there’s always Mons Venus

  95. Mike Johnson Says:

I’m starting to feel sorry for Jameis guys…No I’m not! He was the direct cause of us losing 3 games this past season. Those 3 would have put us in the playoffs. The Defense improved 2-fold during the 2nd half of the season. Jameis did not.

  96. JimmyJack Says:

Yes Mike Johnson. That might be the biggest problem here. Wiston could still have the same numbers and same number of ugly games and might already be resigned if he finished the season on an upward trajectory. But it was quite the opposite.

I remember back to when the Bucs clawed their way back to 500%. Jameis was getting a ton of support and most of the media’s were behind him. Then he followed that up with the debatably the ugliest game of his career vs Houston and ruining our chance in OT to get to 8-8 and 2nd place in the division……..Not to mention a 500% divisional record………. Not the greatest ackomplishments in the world…….but meaningful one’s to any long suffering Bucs fans………..I also do that think Bruce was too happy having a losing season added to his resume either.

  97. WestChap Says:

No one has criticized Jameis more than I… but for a cap-friendly deal with the flexibility to get out cleanly even I would have to admit there is some value to mere continuity and Jameis’ 5,100 yards are a lot more than mere continuity.

I have never questioned his defenders arguing he would benefit from a better OL and running game… just questioned our ability to provide one if he’s eating anything near $30M of the cap. Perhaps there is a “bet on himself” creative option out there for 2-3 years with cap-friendly incentives and options that allow Bucs to build better OL/RB around him without losing the DL we have… if he “balls out” he’ll collect incentives and then get paid longer term here or elsewhere with more leverage than he has now. We could then focus on OL in rounds 1 and 3 (using 2 for some QB insurance) while also picking up an OL and RB in free agency… which hopefully sets us up nicely for both 2020 and 2021 with/without JW or TBD rookie QB.

  98. Tye Says:

The one full proof way another team can cut way down on JW throwing picks is make him the backup!
Hard for him to throw pick 6s from their bench… If he doesn’t get ostracized, that is!

  99. Bucsfan951 Says:

Brandon: I seriously have zero comment for you when you compare punts to turnovers. You’ve officially left me speechless. Congrats!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Tom Brady is coming to Tampa. He hates the current uniforms with the alarm clock numbers and is the reason for the uniform change. Get ready for TB in TB!

    —————-

I heard Brady is coming to Tampa because he needed a tan.

  101. Stanglassman Says:

It’s hard to take anything this guy says when he claims there is no other team with two top WRs other than the Chargers in the Qb market. Then he goes on to act like Jameis has thrown 30 interceptions every year since 2013. Just a bunch of bull. I wish these guys would do a few minutes of research before they report.
