Old School Approach

Bucs not dealing with Unabomber.

The way Bucco Bruce Arians talked yesterday, new Bucs quarterback Tom Brady is a simple man.

Brady, a multi-millionaire wed to a mega-multimillionaire, is a guy who lives a modest life at his summer cabin in Montana where he has no running water and a windmill supplying meager power.

Also, Brady is a man who communicates with the outside world by snail mail, a telegraph and carrier pigeon. Sort of like an NFL quarterback version of Unabomber only with an ax to grind against Bill Belicheat, not the federal government.

That was the impression given by Arians yesterday.

In his conference call to trumpet signing with the Bucs, Brady mentioned how time is of the essence to get to work and learn his new teammates and learn Arians’ playbook.

With the real possibility of offseason programs being canceled thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, time is even more urgent Arians noted.

So how are the Bucs, in particular Arians, going to help Brady get acclimated?

“We’ll get him his computer with all of the stuff in it,” Arians said Wednesday in a conference call with the local pen and mic club. “But, he’s kind of like me and Tom Moore, his computer is a playbook and a pencil, so we will get the paper to him and he can start getting the verbiage and all of that stuff down.”

Joe isn’t quite sure Brady is a Luddite as much as Arians may think he is. Brady is somewhat active on social media, so unless his model wife is doing all the recording and uploading and writing, Joe’s going to bet Brady isn’t scared of a keyboard.

Arians also added he and Brady and the Bucs will be making use of FaceTime and other video conferencing apps to help make Brady’s orientation with the Bucs a little smoother.

Yay, technology!

The younger players getting a off-offseason and staying off the Ps4s and Xboxs and “Henny” will be key.

Installing anything you can to those younger guys should be the top priority. The vets can work into it but the younger players will have a huge adjustment.

I wonder if Joe would ever have put up a picture of OJ Simpson’s mug shot in an article about Jamoist. I’m really looking forward to watching Tom Brady turn this team around and getting back to the playoffs. Joe won’t be able to celebrate as he’s not really a Buccaneers fan. He’s just a nut hugging Winston fan. Looking like it’s XFL for your boy Joe.

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hey Joe, are the Bucs still giving iPads with the playbook to all players? If so then along with that and access to the team’s vault of videos online, and then connecting on Zoom with the coaches and his offensive teammates, TB should be fine until he can get together in person with the team.

Thinking they may be using Surfaces. Bucs got rid of the iPads because Schiano didn’t believe in them and the NFL signed a contract with Microsoft.

Joe’s not familiar with Zoom but yeah, am told that’s a popular video conference software/app. Arians said they would be doing that with him (and FaceTime).

Brady used to have some Patriots offensive teammates come to his pad in Montana to work out so wouldn’t be a shock if that’s what happens with some Bucs’ skill players.

Lol somewhat right. Brady has a “cabin” here in montana up in the yellowstone club. I actually took one of the Polaris RZRs he wrecked on trade from there. But he does come out here in the summers with several others and throws balls, golf’s and what not.

Many things that Teddy K predicted about the Govt have come to pass.

Ironically I think of spygate when it comes to these electronic play books I wonder how secure they are from hackers?

@Pick6: I wonder if this site will ever run a story of how Tom Brady had TWO women preggo at same time… or if we will ever hear about his “baby mama” like we hear with others.[Sure a hell didn’t hear alot of it in NE]
Come to think of it I wonder if Bill O’Brian, former OC, had an issue with Tom’s like he did with Nuk’s.

    Go Bucs!!!

BucAllNight::// CHALLENGED!!! not gonna happen…but tell me more… you mean THE GREAT WHITE HOPE is not perfect!!!

Should have read the caption first. I’m sitting here trying to figure out which ex-Buc that’s in the picture. I’m thinking damn Winslow looks terrible.

    tom gravy…

just give the man his playbook…

    i don’t think he’s got the rona

  13. Bird Says:

How did you get the picture of T-max above?

  14. Bucsfanman Says:

Throwing stones in glass houses I see! I didn’t see where anyone claimed Brady was perfect. The hypocrisy of people knows no bounds apparently.

Anyway, I doubt very seriously the 20 year vet will have much issue learning the playbook. I agree with the poster above that it’s the younger guys I’d be concerned with.
Joe- the Ted picture is a little disturbing!

  15. Hethrew 30 Says:

Does Brady’s MT cabin have a moat around it like his cabin in NE? Must have taken him a long time to dig it.

  16. Defense Rules Says:

Bucsfanman … I agree, that photo is disturbing. Hate to see us give terrorists like that any more press than they’ve already gotten.

And Joe, I can’t believe you haven’t used Zoom (or at least something like it) with your staff (up to 100 for free). Group Facetime is also great but it requires that EVERYONE (up to 32) have an Apple device. I don’t use Skype (Microsoft) but it can now apparently do it up to groups of 50. Neat stuff in these times of ‘social-distancing’.

I think this is wrong. But you can correct me. He was with Bridget Moynahan to the end of 2006 when he met Gisele Bundchen and no doubt she was the reason he broke up with Monynahan did not know she was pregnant at the time so of course she did not tell Tom Brady until after she realized she was pregnant.

Gisele did not get pregnant that year. Is there another child that you were referencing to suggest that he had two women pregnant at the same time?

  18. Buddhaboy19 Says:

The UnaBomber was very misunderstood. He was tortured in a program called MKUltra by the US Government. He was getting them back, I would highly recommend reading his manifesto.

I am not saying he was a good guy, but he went through alot. Highly intelligent, evaded the fbi for almost 15 years.

  19. The Coroner Says:

    Joe
Love your site and you are an interesting, clever writer. Got the Luddite reference. But using the photo of a brilliant, deranged killer who destroyed the lives of innocent people was disappointing at best.

  20. Sport Says:

JBF’rs – this is clearly shill joe. Is it any wonder why he had to do his own thing? A professional editor would never have approved this. It’s also why he got bounced or bounced himself (see bitterness comments towards newspaper).

This Joe is like JW some good stuff and some really really bad.

    In BA I Trust!
