Evans Breaks Out The Good Stuff

March 24th, 2020

Toasting new QB.

It seems Bucs stud wide receiver Mike Evans was in a celebrating mood this past weekend.

Just a couple of days after it was made official that six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady is the new Bucs quarterback, Evans broke open the cognac. Hennessy in fact.

Evans, a gamer, was on a Fortnite stream on Twitch Sunday and after a few Hennessys explained why he was in a rocking mood, reports TMZ.com.

Brady is “about to be my quarterback, bro,” Evans told an unknown combatant. “I’ve played 6 years in the NFL and I haven’t been to the playoffs yet. Tom Brady has won 6 Super Bowls.”

Evans later added, “I’ve been on that Hennessy. Oh, I’m drinking!”

Joe just hopes Evans continues his Hall of Fame path like he has since the Bucs drafted him in 2014. Maybe a reason he broke open a bottle of hooch is Brady coming to Tampa. Now just win some damn games.

In September and December would be a good start for the Bucs and maybe, just maybe, the Bucs might have a meaningful game in January.

    Sb or bust. Mike you better not drop that ball or Brady gonna put you on his knee and spank you. Trust me they’re already talking about it

  2. Tampabuscsbro Says:

    >Drop the ball

    Lamarcus Mike isn’t known for drops man.

  3. Bucsfan951 Says:

    Ouch! this doesn’t help the Winston guzzlers…

  4. Adrnagy Says:

    Move on from jameis …. tuff love ?

    Evans will be traded in 2 yrs if we don’t win super bowl. Trade >>> draft picks.

  5. Tye Says:

    See! Evan gets it!

  6. 941bucsfan Says:

    Get ready for this. “at least he did better than Jameis wouldve”.

    Guys the bucs were predicted to finish 2nd in the NFC South in 2020 IF they brought back jameis……. Today the bucs are Predicted to finish 2nd in the NFC South WITH Brady. That tells you, this team aint good. No one has faith in the bucs even winning their division except for the folks that cant keep Jameis name out their mouth. Vegas is Daring all you guys to take that bet. Im betting against it. The Saints have a real team from top to bottom. Drew brees dont call the shots, sean payton does. Saints win the division at 13-3, bucs squeak into the 7th seed at 9-7.

  7. Swampbuc Says:

    The moronia is out in full force.

    Evans, a future hall of famer, celebrates, Douchebags can’t find anything good in it, gotta go for the angle with the rusty edge, Cretins.

  8. Rod Munch Says:

    Stephen Gostkowski got cut…

    Meanwhile we have a kicker that lost us 2 games last year…

    I’m not anti-Gay, but kickers play a long long time. Even at 36-years old Gostkowski could legit play another 5 years with probably no drop in production.

    Man… that’s a tough call. I *think* Gay will be just fine, but with a veteran kicker who has made some big kicks, if you’re going all in that seems like the guy you go with as opposed to a guy mental issues who has never made a game winning kick in his life, at any level.

  9. Buczilla Says:

    Of course he’s happy. He’s got a legitimately good (not great anymore, but good) quarterback throwing him the ball. If we draft one with promise to take over in the future and get a legit backup, he might bust open another bottle. I know I will. 😜

  10. Matt Says:

    Never been much of an Evans fan after he started kneeling during the anthem and the way he wines and gets moody if he doesn’t get the ball. I’ll really be looking forward to Brady chewing him out a couple times to see how he takes it. The dude has all the talent in the world no doubt. Now Godwin on the other hand is the real deal. He’s my favorite Buccaneer and I hope he evolves into a leader this year because he’s the perfect example to follow.

  11. Hethrew 30 Says:

    Evans has had 1,000 yard seasons every single years he’s been in the NFL, including when Josh McKown was throwing to him as a rookie. So that is basically two losing QBs who have every thrown him the football in the NFL. He now gets the best. We will not only see Evans likely have his best season yet, even with Godwin on the other side, but his yards-after-catch will go up because he finally has an accurate passer throwing to him. It will be a fun new dimension for Evans; of course he’s glad to be out from under Winston and with the GOAT.

  12. Hethrew 30 Says:

    Matt, agreed. All I want from Evans is to have him perform and don’t subject me to his own intoerance. His Dixie-Chicking it up in such an ignorant way meant that personally, I don’t like him. I think he’s learned his lesson, as have so many NFL players who use the brand to protest.

  13. Hethrew 30 Says:

    Rod, agree it would be nice to get Ghost here. He probably wouldn’t charge much. Yeah, 36, but look at Bryant and Gould.

  14. 941bucsfan Says:

    Still talking about a damn protest? Im convinced you guys are all idiots. One reason tom came here (besides no one else offering him anything) was because of Mike Evans being an elite receiver. And you idiots are talking about him protesting…… protest deez

  15. BigHog Says:

    Let’s get one thing straight..every man will do what he thinks is right and what keeps his mind focused on the right thing for him not other people but for him!!…..be it protesting, kneeling or whatever..just because some of you hated it didn’t make it wrong…some of you need to get your mind set with the times, you can’t tell grown people how to feel…how to walk in their life…when to kneel…where to protest…we are moving forward…..not with that again sh*t.

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    I didn’t like the Evans protest but he stopped quickly so I respect him for correcting his error….and yes, it was an error…..he’s on company time, not his own.

    As far as his receiving…….unquestionably a stud….and if he is hit in stride he will get more YAC…….it seemed to me that he was either heading out of bounds or had to wait for the ball or dive for it and there was a tackler on him.

    I’m very optimistic about the Brady/Evans hookup….

    You don’t get to do whatever you want at work, when you are representing and playing for someone else. When you are supposed. Go ahead a live your words. Next time you are riding around on that garbage truck, jump off at a stop light and start acting like a flag burning, foot stopping, fist raising hooligant…and see where that gets you with your job.

  18. Hethrew 30 Says:

    ^^^Do all that stuff on your own time…free to do tha of course.^^^

  19. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

    Big Hog, yeah the Trump boys love their boy and follow his lead. Kneeling in protest bad, dodging the draft with fake bone spurs is A-OK with them though.

  20. ChanEpic Says:

    All of the Buc “fans” calling out Evans for doing what he believes is right, are the worst kind of fan. They are probably Trump voters too so they aren’t known for being the smartest people in the world.

  21. ChanEpic Says:

    All of the Buc “fans” calling out Evans for doing what he believes is right, are the worst kind of fan. They are probably Dotard voters too so they aren’t known for being the smartest people in the world.

  22. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

    Mike Evans will think he died and went to Heaven, once he starts catching balls from Tom Brady.
    Brady is much more accurate, so no longer will Mike be reaching for balls.

  23. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

    LOL Chan! Preach!

  24. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    Or he was doing what most of the rest were doing…
    and trying to KILL the stress of what’s going on right now.

    Tampabaybucfan Says:
    “I didn’t like the Evans protest but he stopped quickly so I respect him for correcting his error”

    ~~~~~~
    I agree. I appreciated the fact that the MINUTE Mike realized that his actions were insulting military families (in a military town)… which was not really his intent… he had the guts to STOP. — And that took guts too, as you saw others that continued to do it because they felt that they had to.
    I like Mike a lot, and am very glad that he is here.
  26. BigHog Says:
    Hethrew 30 …At every protest I saw by the players …no one acted like that …they kneeled in a dignified, peaceful and humble manner…yet you still BIG MAD!…GO BUCS!!!!
  27. Tampa Bay Demon Says:
    (really NOT his intent)
  28. Buc1987 Says:
    Bucsfan951…it’s peeps like you that can’t let Winston go…not the other way around. I don’t see anyone supporting or defending Winston hardly ever in here anymore. Yet some of you can’t let him go.
    Let him go…or get help!
  29. 813bucboi Says:
    PREACH CHAN!!!!!!!!
    who cares if its on “company time”…
    the company is operating in a free country….
    standing up for what you believe in doesnt have boundaries….
    GO BUCS!!!!!
  30. Bucsfan951 Says:
    87 you must not read much of the comments then. They’re ALWAYS talking about JW!
    But I will week that help you said I should get. I appreciate your concern
  31. D-Rome Says:
    Meanwhile, XFL QBs are getting jobs in the NFL before Jameis.
  32. WestChap Says:
    Mike took a knee, heard how it was being interpreted in his fanbase and stopped. That’s a man with a social conscience, an open mind and the character to change course. Those kind of men are few and far between nowadays… get off his back. He’s my WR1 and an inspiration!
  33. stpetebucsfan Says:
    I’ll never settle that take a knee issue but I am a Vietnam Vet and so I feel I’ve earned the right to speak about “love of country”.
    First Donald Trump can go eff himself…as a white dude I had not one but TWO opportunities to avoid the draft actually a third would have been stay in school.
    Coulda gone to the reserves or national guard.
    I was NOT wealthy enough to have a bought and paid for doc lie to my draft board. I did NOT have the opportunity to chase skirts at Studio 50 in NYC.
    And how people can slam black players for RESPECTFULLY expressing their opinion yet let some freaking fat loser defame a true war hero who spent so many years in the Hanoi Hilton just blows my mind!!!
    For those who didn’t get the memo…kneeling was not the first thing Capernik did…he simply sat on the bench. A MILITARY VET told him that simply kneeling was far better because that’s what VETS did in respect for their fallen comrades. He told Cap that was far more respectful than sitting during our Anthem…I agree.
    I certainly accept the argument that the Bucs are a profit driven organization..as they should be…and have a right to regulate their employees behavior while they are representing the organization. Mike is a smart man and understood this part of the equation.
    But the “patriotism” canard is just a bridge too far. I LOVE my country…am totally grateful for all it’s provided me but I didn’t sign up to fight for a song…or a piece of cloth but rather for the ideals our nation represents.
  34. Tampa Bay Demon Says:
    WestChap, wonderfully said, sir.
  35. Buc1987 Says:
    Bucsfan951…who and where? Ndog? There’s 1.
    I read all the comments…and I always see you and the likes of you worried about Winston nuthuggers and guzzlers more than anything else.
    It’s the other side of the debates that can’t let Winston go. Not his defenders.
    I’ll continue to point it out of you like….not just you but many others…
  36. Bucsfan951 Says:
    You can point it out all you want. What ever helps you get through your quarantined days.
    Doesn’t bother me one bit. But I’m going to bet your not so I’ll move on…
  37. Swampbuc Says:
    How many morons does it take to ruin a thread?
  38. RustyRhinos Says:
    BigHog- Well said all of it. “…every man will do what he thinks is right and what keeps his mind focused on the right thing for him not other people but for him!!…we are moving forward…..not with that again sh*t..”
  39. RustyRhinos Says:
    WestChap “Mike took a knee, heard how it was being interpreted in his fanbase and stopped. That’s a man with a social conscience, an open mind and the character to change course. Those kind of men are few and far between nowadays…” Right on! With this too.
    Tough call for folks on the choice of, location of any social protest in America today. IMHO it shouldn’t be but is.
    Glad ME13 is on our team, along with GW12 what an awesome WR tandem. I am very excited to see how they do this season.
  40. Cgmaster27 Says:
    Funny how i see the trolls commenting on how some people cant stop talking about jameis. You trolls are the ONLY ones talking about him. He still lives in your heads rent free. Move on for christs sake.
  41. RustyRhinos Says:
    Thank you for your service stpetebucsfan! Very well said. I totally agree. So damn mind blowing is it not?
  42. hamilton Says:
    matt,you still mad because he knell three years ago,mike is a good person an gives his time an money in the tampa bay area and his home town,let it go.
  43. stpetebucsfan Says:
    Thanks RR.
    I’m honestly embarrassed when people thank me for my service because it was behind a giant berm…with barb wire out front…some of my brothers went outside those walls into the jungle…some flew over those jungles with SAM’s ready to kill or put them in the Hanoi Hilton…those are the guys who deserve our thanks..guys like D.R.
    But now I’ve had the chance to return gratitude thanks to Governor Cuomo’s great advice.
    Went shopping to get the essentials…thanks heavens we have enough TP already…Wal Mart totally out…but now when I pass workers in Wal Mart and in particular…clerks at checkouts who handle money…Covid infected money? I tell them what I’ve heard for 50 years.
    Thanks for your service out here on the front lines. We all APPRECIATE you!
    “How many morons does it take to ruin a thread?”
    I suspect that is a rhetorical question but may I answer anyway.
    Depends how good you are with your scroll wheel or finger to move right past those comments.
    I’ve gotten pretty good at it.
  45. ChanEpic Says:
    @StPete – the Joe’s for some reason, seem to attract a lot of Dotards. it’s weird.
  46. Mike Johnson Says:
    I’m hopin our Kool-Aid stays down and does not..come back up in our faces. This franchise is so desperate. We got maybe 2 yrs. We shall see. Having a shot of Tequilla..wishing us the best.
