Derrick Brooks is a local hero and has a reputation here that rivals LeeRoy Selmon. Not just because he’s played the game and did it better than anyone, but because he gives so much back to the community and is a huge asset, not a liability to society like so many other former (and current) athletes. Derrick would do very well…and could fill a gaping media void…by starting his own sports blog, where he does what he does here, but surrounds it with professionally written content that reflects his own personality and sprots accumen. Joe thinks you’d be surprised by the fun personality Brooks can be and the depth of his sense of humor. Seems like you didn’t hear Brooks talking professional wrestling on national radio recently. And you think Brooks would put his face here if he didn’t find it professional? Please. As you wrote, he doesn’t need the money. –Joe He probably doesn’t need the money, but with the decline of sports radio (face it, WDAE has slipped a lot) and very limited media outlets and newspapers (none of which are really good), Derrick’s views go to waste.
