As a long time season tkt holder stop with the excuses for Winston. He is rated below average by the nfl and after 5 yrs…MOVE ON !!

  2. Troy Says:

Ira – you’re kidding right with the “Bucs don’t get enough turnovers” nonsense right? They were top 5 in the league this year. How about we stop turning the ball over 41 freakin times. That would sure help the +-.

Lee – I about fell out of my chair. You can’t be serious that a 3 and out is equal to a pick. So how many punt run backs for TDs did we have this year? And while we’re at it, how many punts ended up in our own end versus picks? Second, the 5000 yard thing is just stupid and completely irrelevant. Just a quick question for ya, how many playoff teams had QBs who threw for 5000 yards? I’ve got an idea, stop spotting teams 10 or 17 points and our QB won’t have to throw for 5000 yards.

PS – Lee you’re not hated. Just strongly disagree with you that Winston will ever get this team to the playoffs. It’s not going to happen. His 5 year history tells me it isn’t going to happen.

  3. Miller5252 Says:

Ira gave the perfect stat that’s true all the time….. turnover margin. The bottom 10 teams not one in the playoffs top 11 all but the Steelers in the playoffs. Joe you’re arguing about 3 and outs being like a turnover….. but making the other team drive 80 yards to the end zone is easier to stop then the other team getting the ball on a turnover on the Bucs side of the field.

  4. Jean Lafitte Says:

I get tired of your mantra that turnovers aren’t bad when it’s the turnovers that are the main reason why we have a losing record.

Stop the coddling and stop the excuses.

  5. DanBucsfan Says:

Is Licht gonna do a end of season presser? Or did he already??

  6. Defense Rules Says:

Oh Joe, I have to agree with Ben … stop with the excuses for Winston. I’m not saying don’t bring him back, but evaluate him on his PERFORMANCE. Yes, 33 passing TDs & 5000 passing yards are PART of that performance. But so are the 626 passing attempts … most in the league … to get those 5000 passing yards. So are the 30 INTs … again, most in the league, by far. Jameis’ 60.7% completion rate ranks 28th out of the first 32 QBs in the NFL. In any event, the only evaluation that really counts is BA’s eval. But even he can be overruled by the Glazers. Time will tell …

  7. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

See that’s how much you try to cover for Jameis as his personal excise maker!! NO, a punt is NOT the same as an interception that was just ignorant to say!! Most of Winston turn overs happen right at the start of the drive and that puts the other team in the 20!! Punt it if nothing is there and pin them back!! It’s called smart football!!…. Ira read you the stat that matters that NO TEAM in the bottom ten in turnovers made the playoffs!! I mean dude you have to see that!! You can’t be that blind it makes me wonder why you defend him and whether it’s really your opinion or you feel backed in a corner and don’t want to admit you’re wrong??

  8. Joe Says:

Is Licht gonna do a end of season presser? Or did he already??

He will likely talk at the combine.

  9. GoldBoy Says:

Joe isn’t really a Buccaneers fan. Why make things up? Joe has been a Bucs fans for decades. You think Joe got into this blog for the money? Ha!! –Joe He’s a Jamoist Winston fan. There’s a huge difference. One wants the team to win no matter what, the other just wants Jamoist to be the QB regardless of the results. Joe knows his credibility will be at absolute zero once America’s turnover machine is ran out of town. Whaat? Joe has no credibility tied to the quarterback. You do realize Joe doesn’t pick players or coaches. –Joe That’s why he’s willing to be a propaganda arm for the Glazers. The Glazers have their own propaganda arms, it’s called Buccaneers.com, a social media following in the millions, paid staff members, marketing partnerships with local media not named Joe, etc. Why make things up? –Joe Literally going down with the ship.

  10. Jean Lafitte Says:

If they pay Jameis more than 27 mil then they are the fools because it is then that Jameis pulled his biggest con yet.

In a passing offense in a passing league he along with several other QB’s throw for 5000 yards and Jameis’s preordained proclivity to turn the ball over will get him paid with the elite franchise QB’s. Only on JBF and the office of Jason Licht does this even make since. Fans are tired of losing and not one single one of you can quarantee that Candyman will all of a sudden morph into a franchise QB before next season. Tell that to the 1000’s he driven away from the den of depression.

  11. Joe Says:

In a passing offense in a passing league he along with several other QB’s throw for 5000 yards

That’s patently inaccurate. Only eight quarterbacks have ever done this. Throwing for 5,000 yards has only happened 12 times in the history of the NFL.

  12. Jean Lafitte Says:

ok 4750 who cares …turnovers cost games

  13. Joe in Michigan Says:

I don’t understand the hatred towards Jameis, Licht, or Lee…When we’re in the playoffs next year we can look back the negative comments and laugh.

  14. Joe in Michigan Says:

    *at the negative comments

  15. SteveK Says:

    Joe,

    Licht sucks.

    Jameis sucks.

    Mr LD is cool.

I don’t know how any sane fan can be sold the hope of playoffs with endless turnovers.
