Touchdowns Against The Blitz

December 15th, 2019

Bucs OC Byron Leftwich.

If Lions strongman Matt Patricia thinks he can rattle Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, with a blitz, there is a good chance Detroit is going to get burned today.

Per the NFL’s Next Gen stats, gathered by sensors embedded in players’ equipment, only two quarterbacks are more dangerous in the NFL than Jameis when defenses come at him with a blitz.

And those two are both likely the top candidates for their respective conference’s Offensive Player of the Year, Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson.

And the No. 3 quarterback in the NFL for throwing touchdowns against the blitz? That would be No. 3 himself, Jameis.

Joe is curious how many of those throws went to Mike Evans, the star Bucs receiver who is out today? And will that absence force Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich to change things up on blitzes?

TAMPA TWO is back with a Bucs-Lions preview from Derrick Brooks & Ira Kaufman!!

Byron Leftwich………….responsible for screwing up Josh Rosen and sinking the cardinals offense

BL………….the only OC in the NFL that is learning on the JOB

BL…………the only OC in the NFL getting a chance cause BA feels sorry for him

Sorry anthem. These complaints get worse and worse every week. Our offense is one of the top scoring offenses in the league. So if he’s still learning on the job, that just gives me more hope for the future.

  3. Cometowin2 Says:

If we had a normal amount of turnovers we’d probably have the #1 offense in the league. I get that this offense is more turnover prone due to longer passes and longer developing plays but you can’t put it all on the offense or Bryon. Players got to execute. Don’t understand all the hate on Leftwich or maybe I do.

“Kobe has been good this year

All Kobe wants for Christmas is

    2 shallow crossing routes

    And only then, world peace”

Keep using the TEs more like the last few weeks and less runs up the middle on first down. Byron will be fine.

weak attempt at rolling, Anthem, real weak

  7. Chris K Says:

^^^ agree with above. Extremely weak attempt at trolling. He needs to go to the Max goes of trolls and learn to add the basement stuff along with the low expectations loser fan base crap to step up his game.

    ^^^ T Max school of trolls ***

Do you ever NOT say anything stupid? Leftwich learned on the job last year as he didn’t start the season as the OC. Rosen and the Cardinals screwed up Rosen. This terrible OC leads one of the best offenses in the NFL. Why haven’t the Dolphins been able to fix him? Maybe because the 2nd year QB isn’t very good at this point.

There are lots of people that get paid to talk about football, considering your absolute lack of football acumen, would you consider taking money to STFU?

That drive at the end of the 1st half last week by BL was beautiful play calling. Go watch it over. Well designed plays that led to the score. Bravo to the players for the execution as well.

Don’t anyone discount how important it was for the Bucs to get 7 at the end of last weeks 1st half for momentum. Thank goodness we have him.

  11. Broy34 Says:

Bucs anthem – also the guy leading the second best passing attack and third highest scoring offense in the nfl with zero run game and blocking. And Godwin has emerged as a star. I’ve been questioning certain calls all year but the offense isn’t the problem

  12. TheDood Says:

Leftwich is NOT the problem. It’s rapist Winston throwing Pick-6s, fumbling, etc.

Add to that an almost non-existent running game and a crappy D that ‘flashes’ talent from time to time.

Worst of all is the mgmt. Thanks for picking that stupid human stork Mike Glennon and not drafting Russell Wilson, you morons!!!

  13. Jgar Says:

Totally agree with theory that with the exception of our RBs the offense is not the problem. I think it’s funny that so called fans rip BA and BL but u can see the culture changing. He’s (BA)making them believe in themselves especially on defense.
