“Take It DOWN!!!”

December 18th, 2019

Has message for Shaq Barrett.

Now this is just class.

A lot of Bucs fans have reached out to Joe wondering if Warren Sapp had reached out to co-record holder Shaq Barrett.

In 2000, Sapp became the Bucs’ franchise leader in sacks for a single season with 16.5. That record has stood but Sapp was tied last week by Barrett. The first-year Bucs player recorded his sack 16.5 of the year at Detroit.

And you know who isn’t satisfied with that? Sapp. The Hall of Fame defensive tackle took to Instagram to order Barrett to keep pounding. In short, Sapp is telling Barrett the outside linebacker’s mission is incomplete.

And Joe thinks that is an absolute class move by Sapp.

It is perfectly understandable how a former player would cherish his record or never want to see it broken. But to encourage a player to break his own record, that is very big of Big 99.

Man, I hope we can keep this guy.

    Barrett that is, not Sapp.

  2. Sport Says:

First time ever the word class was used to describe one of our best Bucs and worst people EVER!

I give Sapp the same treatment he gives fans, including children (experienced it and seen it first hand)….GTFOH you POS!

    In BA I Trust!

  3. Kobe Faker Says:

    “Sapp is a POS

Winston made mistakes but he is a good person inside

Sapp is evil rotten to the core”

  4. 1sparkybuc Says:

Sapp will always have the record for a defensive tackle. He knows that the team record won’t be his much longer. I don’t believe that bothers him. He’s always been a jerk, but he still loves this team and wants them to win. He wants to see the defense respected again.

  5. SteveK Says:

    Most talented Buccaneer ever.

    Not even close.

Not a HOF human being, but undeniably the best 3 technique to play. Maybe Aaron Donald has something to say about that.

Sapp’s bristly personality also made him a better DT.

    Beast.

  6. TexBuc Says:

    Shaq is not going anywhere

  7. FanO’Bucs Says:

    Agreed SteveK!

He was smart and intolerant of bs. He was definitely the lead horse.

  8. Bucsfanman Says:

A LOT of people don’t like Sapp. IMO, Me-Shawn was worse.
Like him or not, Sapp is one of the best Bucs of all time and one of the best DTs of all time. I like that he’s challenging Shaq to break the record. It does nothing to diminish Sapp’s accomplishments.

  9. Robert Says:

    ballers respect ballers.

  10. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Sapp being classy….
    JayMiss being accurate …..

What the hell is going on?

  11. Frank Pillow Says:

Warren was the best thing to happen to this franchise- he put us back on the football map back on draft day 1995 …and along with Brooks + Lynch made sure we stayed there.

  12. Kobe Faker Says:

“Djax is much better human being than POS Sapp

There is not to many worse selfish entitled evil people in the history of mankind worse than this fat filth

There is no doubt if there was any situation he will selfishly take advantage of in any matter to any posters family

This worthless evildoer will do it without any remorse”

    haughty eyes,

    a lying tongue,

    hands that shed innocent blood,

a heart that devises wicked schemes,

feet that are quick to rush into evil,

a false witness who pours out lies

and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.”

  14. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

One of the greatest Bucs on the field. One of the worst off it. You don’t even have to be friendly to fans, but, the open contempt? Pathetic.

  15. MTM Says:

For Sapp that was cool. But man his off the field personality has taken more hits than Snookie. Unquestionably the best player the Bucs ever had. The position takes a guy who can be nasty. Sapp just couldn’t turn it off when he got off the field. Being a jerk to little kids who look up to you turns off everybody. Needless to say it explains the need for hookers…

  16. Clean House Says:

Surprising, glad for Sapp being decent

  17. Buccernutter Says:

I love sapp. F*** his haters.

  18. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Kobe, wrong Meshawn! There was one before him back in Sapp’s day and that was the reference.

  19. AKickInTheBucNuts Says:

Get Sapp some kind of coaching job on this team.

  20. Colonel Angus Says:

Sapp was the man on gamedays. That all I care about, not like I was asking him to babysit my children.

  21. DaBux Says:

Love it. I hope Warren is on the sidelines to congratulate Shaq Attack after it happens.

  22. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

I kind of get tired hearing all of the talk about Sapp’s off the field personality.

I proudly wear that #99 jersey because he made being a Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan FUN… he made watching defense INCREDIBLY FUN. Remember when we almost looked forward to punting just so we could watch the D?

Those are the things that I think about when I think about Warren Sapp. And he will always be damn special because of it……. as a BUCS fan.

  23. CalBucsFan Says:

Love it, thanks for being so classy Sapp!

  24. ElioT Says:

    Sapp was a freak!

    The GOAT 3-tech. DT!

Dude was all about football and winning. He didn’t care about anything else, even the fans feelings when they want an cheesy autograph to post on their wall.

Donald is darn good, but he hasn’t made near the overall impact to his team and to the game as Sapp did.

Remember all those years He dominated the NFL strongman competition?

    Watch the highlights folks.

    Sapp Daddy, yes sir!

  25. Tbbucs3 Says:

I think it’s pretty cool how many of the retired players for the Bucs are still attached to the team and are actual fans.

Derrick Brooks, Sapp, Antonio Bryant, Shelton Quarrels, etc.

Don’t see that too often with many other teams. Guys like Troy Aikman certainly like the label of being former Cowboys quarterback but aikman certainly isn’t rooting for the Cowboys to win nowadays.

  26. Buczilla Says:

I know that Sapp isn’t liked by everyone (he played well and helped us get wins, so that’s all I care about), but no one can deny that he still cares about the team. Also, he got his sacks as a dt, which is a hell of a lot harder to do than from the de spot, so he can still brag. I love Vea, but there isn’t a dt on the roster that will come close to 16.5 sacks. Maybe if we drafted Javon Kinlaw from South Carolina…

  27. James Walker Says:

    Class!

  28. BigHog Says:

Just because you say he a POS don’t mean he a POS….just means you a POS!!! GO BUCS TO 5 GAME WIN STREAK!!!

  29. ben Says:

Sapp was the best buc player ever. He made the players and team accountable. I always watched in awe when he would walk thru the other teams huddle b4 a game to say this is our field .. tough dude

  30. Buccaneerscotty Says:

First time sapp and class have ever been used together…

  31. pryda...sec 147 Says:

    You got this Shaq

  32. TampaTown Says:

I love Warren Sapp. Now and forever Tampa’s first 1st ballot Hall of Famer. Whatever “it” is, he has it. A true star. God I miss him. Hate all you want, none of you know him in real life.

  33. lambchop Says:

I come here for the football, so Warren Sapp is a God in Tampa Bay because he left it all on the field. I gained a little overall respect for him for his Shaq support. He’s rough around the edges, but the Bucs needed a lil dirty swag and he brought it.

Celebrities aren’t responsible for being your kid’s role model and signing autographs. He is what he is, but all that matters to me is what he did when he put on the Bucs jersey.

That defense wouldn’t have been nearly as good without him. Heart and Soul of the Tampa 2 days.

  34. cmurda Says:

Sapp may not be the greatest person on the planet but some of you are over the top. Evil? Please. Terrorists, murderers and rapists are evil. Sapp is just not as pleasant as you want him to be. I miss having a guy on the team with some edge that isn’t afraid to talk some trash and pump up the team. Nothing but love for the big man. #99

  35. Hodad Says:

Sapp may be an ass, but he’s our ass. A Buc for life, whatever records of his fall, he’ll always be one of the best Buc players ever! A true legend.

  36. ou812 Says:

Sapp and Class there are two words you don’t hear together often!

What’s he going to say don’t break it????

  37. mike Says:

Pretty Cool! First time I have ever seen Class and Sapp together. Go Shaq!!!

  38. Buc1987 Says:

    Buccernutter Says :

“I love sapp. F*** his haters”

I 2nd that. Sapp being my favorite Buc of all time.
