Jameis: “Some Crazy Stuff Has Been Happening”

December 29th, 2019

Jameis says he’s “ballin'” but has one problem

Nobody at One Buc Palace knows why America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, throws so many interceptions.

Or, nobody just wants to state the obvious.

Jameis had an interesting postgame news conference following today’s overtime loss — courtesy of a pick-6 — to the Falcons at the Den of Depression.

Asked about his nasty, long-standing habit of interceptions, Jameis had no answers.

“You just go to the drawing board and find a way. I really don’t know, man. Some crazy stuff has been happening,” Jameis said. “I gotta get better. I just gotta fix it. You know, I threw a lot of touchdowns here, too, and for a lot of yards. So I just know what I gotta fix.”

Then Jameis got a little irked when a reporter asked him to really get specific on what he has to fix.

“No reason for me to be specific. You look at my numbers, I’m ballin’,” Jameis said. “You know, I gotta stop giving the ball to the other team. It’s not a trick question.”

Later, Jameis reminded the media how he’s racking up numbers but just has to stop the turnovers. Jameis maintained that he’s be the best in the business if he can do that.

Joe agrees with Jameis: “Some crazy stuff has been happening.”

Problem is, arguably the NFL’s best collection of quarterback coaches haven’t figured it out after 16 games, a preseason and hours studying Jameis through his four seasons with Dirk Koetter.

  1. ModHairKen Says:

His agent should tell him to stop talking.

  2. Frankinthe813 Says:

If he stays nobody will go to games imo

  3. Unimpressed Says:

Sounds like he knows he’s not a lock to return here next year.

  4. ModHairKen Says:

Who wouldn’t want a year or two with Tom Brady?

  5. IndianaBucFan Says:

Farve summed it up, we have to decide if we can build a team around Jameis to win with the turnovers. That’s what they did for him in Green Bay.

  6. Tbbucs3 Says:

Jameis will be better next year.

  7. NPRSageBoy. Says:

If BA and his huge staff of offense gurus can’t fix JayMiss, he can’t be fixed.

Time to cut losses and move on

    Peace, out.

  8. Chesapeake Bucco Says:

Told my son that we won the coin toss and all we need is a TD, but Jameis would more likely throw a pick 6….and he did. Wish I was wrong….and wish Matt Gay were somewhere else! We’d be at least 9-7 or even 10-6

  9. Bucsfan951 Says:

Yes, if he can eliminate half of the turnovers, he can really put this team on his back and make a push for bigger things. NPUPPY thinks I’m some sorta Winston hater but I’m not! I put blame where it belongs. The defense sucked the first half of the yr. they look to be improving. Winston and the offense put up big numbers. But 30 ints, 6-7 pick 6’s, not sure how many fumbles lost, just put the defense in bad spots. Tag Winston and give him another yr. work on the trenches and bring in a veteran safety.

But for god sake, STOP USING THE NPUPPY DEFENSE!!! #WINSTONSFEMALEDOG

  10. Adrnagy Says:

    Hell yeah ! I agree 30int 7pick6.

“Some Crazy Stuff Has Been Happening”

  11. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Jameis….”I’ve just got to get better”…..How many times have we heard that?

He had BA, Leftwich, Arians & that old dude to work with him…..he isn’t fixable.

He is who and what he is…..take him or leave him but just don’t pay him too much and don’t trust him long-term.

  12. BrianBucs Says:

So while Winston was at home handing the game to the Falcons, Fitz was in Foxboro beating the Patriots.

    It’s A Bucs Life……….

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    & Christiansen….

  14. Pete I Says:

Jameis ” meaningless stats ” Winston America’s QB, Mr excrement, 30 – 30 man, I’m ballin to the tune of 110 turnovers.

  15. Alanbucsfan Says:

Now it’s the coaches fault again…

Crazy Stuff = Loser, not trustworthy on the football field.

  16. SB Says:

Crazy stuff that is happening is that we have all been hearing all year that all Jameis needs was an Average Defense (6 sacks and 9 TFL is not ‘Average’)
All he needs is a competent Running game. ( Ronald Jones leads all RBs so far today)

I am just at a loss.

  17. Zzbuc Says:

The stats speak for themselves….. it’s very obvious!
The question everybody has to make and the new debate is…..
is Carr or Dalton or Bridgewater better for the team than JW…..???
We all know that Bucco will not play with a rookie QB and Brady will not come …… so the question is clear….

  18. bucsince79 aka bumaneer Says:

We don’t have anyone one to replace him. We have had awful QB’s for a very long time. We can only hope he gets better with int’s next year,,,

  19. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Still waiting on that gunslinger heroic game for a WIN… 5 years… Farve had plenty mixed in among his interceptions.. and always had that feeling he would win as opposed to Jameis always losing… say after he check clears on Tuesday he is no longer a Buc

  20. SilverBuc Says:

Leads the league in yards, TDs and then his top three WRs go down with “hamstrings” in his contract year… hmmmm Jameis helped Breshard Perriman lead the league in receiving this week…yeah you can read that fact again…not hard to see what’s going on

  21. stevbobucfan Says:

To me Jameis interceptions are mentally issues or his vision is bad that pick 6 today, the defender was right there and he just threw the ball there any way what do you do here Jameis has some of the best Offensive coaches in the league and he still make bad throws and bad decissions

  22. Mike Johnson Says:

Somewheres in the bowels of the Falcon kingdom, there is a guy named Dirk Koetter smiling, having a martini on an airplane back to ATL sayin, That’s my Boy Jameis. Keep’em comin.

  23. SB Says:

Beer Goggles Silver Buc, Beer Goggles

  24. Lamarcus Says:

Leftwich is his coach…. what are we expecting???

  25. Blue-footed booby Says:

I will continue to pound the table for Mike Glennon to be signed in free agency in the offseason to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback in 2020! We can sign Glennon for $5 million per year and put that extra cap space into retaining our other free agents + extending Godwin instead of paying Winstunned $20+ million and/or the franchise tag. I am all in for Glennon!

  26. RSJCheapSeats Says:

    It’s not crazy.

He throws the ball to the other team. They catch the ball.

    It is very simple.
Winston reads all of the WinstonApologists.

  27. mark2001 Says:

Jameis…it isn’t a trick question. This many Ints. over five years, and you can’t figure what you are doing wrong? You have no clue? How does any coach fix that?

  28. That Guy Says:

I always laugh when the Jameis fans try to prove he’s smart by saying he got into Stanford, but chose to go to FSU. That argument prove to me he’s an idiot. But hey, he’s ballin’.

  29. JimmyJack Says:

What I can’t tolerate I a choke artist. Never thought I’d say that about Winston but he couldn’t handle the pressure in OT. Last week he folded with a chance to win the game and he threw a pick. First game of the season he had the ball in his hand with a chance to win and he crumbled and threw a pick.

This guy can’t handle the pressure. The proof is in the pudding. The defense basically closed out all our losses. When the offense had changes to close out games Jameis folded under pressure. How you play under pressure defines you as a athlete. Winston earned every bit of this losing record.

  30. D-Rome Says:

    “I gotta get better.”

Same stupid quote he’s been saying after every loss for five years.

    Here’s a thought, he CAN’T get better.

  31. Wesley Says:

Bye Jameis, you have heart, but terrible decision making.

  32. BrianBucs Says:

This Bucs team is much too talented to have a QB who keeps giving games games away.

    #JameisBeingJameis

  33. Dapostman Says:

If you taped the game can you see on that last interception if the ball was tipped by the left defensive end? On youtube highlights the balls looks different after it passes the LOS.

  34. Jean Lafitte Says:

He has a tell. Just like some gamblers or baseball pitchers have a tell.

He stares down receivers and the corners jump the routes.

  35. Wesley Says:

Problem is he’s not fixing them, they are in fact worse.

  36. Buc4evr Says:

Blah blah blah.. the guy has earned a franchise tag until we find somebody else. I don’t care how many yards he throws for Winston is a moron And a loser. He is always one brain fart away from a disaster. The Bucs need to move on from Jameis, the sooner the better.

  37. JimmyJack Says:

I’m glad the kicker missed his kicks and I’m glad it put the game squately on Winston’s shoulders.

OT was a real test for Winston. These are the moments needed to proove that you truely are a franchise QB. Jameis prooved he can’t handle the pressure. Just like he did last week and in week 1. Freaking failure.

  38. Dapostman Says:

    @BrianBucs,

too talented? Hahaha. One actual receiving option and until today no run game. Oh don’t forget that amazing kicker who makes every kick from 55+ but misses from 35 yards. The defense played well but couldn’t finish AGAIN. Another 4th quarter lead blown but hey all this talent.

  39. SB Says:

    Great Point Jimmy.
When Gay missed his third kick I texted my buddy in Tampa that at least we can’t blame this loss on Jamis.
Shoulda thought before I hit ‘Send’

  40. ElioT Says:

Yeah and BL is NOT even close to HC material.

You are what your record says you are and the entire franchise are losers… again.

We have to deal with another “what could have been season”.

Problem is the “WCHBs” are not about who was injured, how bad the schedule was, etc…

It’s very simple, cut the team-wide mistakes (especially from the most important position) and the Bucs are in the playoffs.

It is indeed a Bucs life.

  41. Wesley Says:

@dapostman it was barley tipped and looked to have no effect on the trajectory of the ball.

  42. stpetebucsfan Says:

“His agent should tell him to stop talking.”

Whoop there it is. JW should disappear until he signs a new deal IF he signs a new deal.

Already he sounds as if he STILL DOESN’T get it. He’s pulling that old horrible joke…”Other than that Mrs Lincoln did you enjoy the play”.

It’s not enough to say I’ve put up yards and TD’s when you have a LOSING record. He’s the freaking QB…..it’s time for the excuses to stop. He has been babied and coddled long enough and here we are….as Forrest Gump so wisely said….AGAIN.
He sees the problem but not the SEVERITY and what it means to our team!!!!

When will the drama and BS stop. I’m tired of the fan debates, I’m tired of JW. Next comes all he arguing about how much JW is worth. I hope he goes somewhere and wins a SB…as long as he puts us out of our misery. He is snakebit!

Back to business…somebody please straighten me out if I’m wrong. If we “transition” tag JW the average of the top ten QB salaries is used and if another team writes an offer sheet which we do not match we get two first round draft picks.

So if the average of the top ten is 25 and JW won’t budge from his 30 and another team gives it to him we get two first round picks? Really?

  43. ElioT Says:

The defense did their job very well today.

They also scored 6 points in a three point loss.

The defense should be lauded for their play.

This latest loss had ZERO to do with the D!

  44. SB Says:

Dapostman is just irritated that he is running out of excuses for JW

  45. DaBux Says:

If you think you are worth $30 mil per year, you’re on the crazy stuff Jameis.

  46. Lamarcus Says:

5000 30/30 this the risk it biscuit system put JW on steroids

  47. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

He’s said the same thing for 5 years and NOTHING has changed if you think it’ll change next you are DUMB

  48. Aceofaerospace Says:

Jameis and 2 first round picks to Cincinnati.

  49. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

The G’Boyz are at a complete loss of what to do…

  50. JimmyJack Says:

I don’t care if we could or should blame Jameis for the loss. The win or loss is somewhat immatetial to me. For me what I learned was much more important……..The lesson learned is that Winston can’t perform under pressure. Didn’t never thought I would say that about Winston but in this league sooner or later you gonna need your QB to win a game on a last possession.

Winston cannot handle the pressure. Choke artist.

  51. DaBux Says:

Jameis, a 1st and a 2nd to Oakland for Carr.

  52. SilverBuc Says:

Ha, more like Jameis to New England for what will amount to two 2nd round picks and Tampa gets 100% of the blame, literally will be the laughing stock of the sporting world, for continuing the Patriots dominance for another 2 decades. It’s a Bucs life indeed!! Bucs relocate to London in 2022

  53. stevbobucfan Says:

I don’t have a clue to what Jameis problems are with the turnovers and as good of a coach that Arians is I don’t think he has a clue either I mean he plays his ass off even with the turnover for 4 games and then for 2 games just bad decisions on game ending plays someone please enlighten me

  54. You look at my numbers, I’m ballin Says:

Just got me a new screen name.

What a response, I like quiet jameis a whole lot better.

  55. DoooshLaRue Says:

JayMiss is believing everything his agent and homies are telling him. Kinda cocky for an overall loser too.
    He’s not real smart.

Yeah man, you just gotta get better……. we know that and have been waiting for 5 years.

Why don’t you take your sh!t show somewhere else.

  56. Buc4evr Says:

Well At least Jameis made history today. First member of the 30-30 club and he did it on the last play of the game for a winning pic 6. Bravo Jameis you made it in the record books. The guy is a total moron, But the ownership along with Gump will probably sign him to a long term deal…..🤯

  57. Architek79 Says:

    Trash.

  58. DoooshLaRue Says:

    JimmyJack

I’m glad you have finally seen the light.
You had me worried for awhile.

  59. Jean Lafitte Says:

Jameis should get the Non-exclusive franchise tag

a one-year tender offer to a player for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player’s position over the last five years, or 120 percent of the player’s previous salary, whichever is greater. The player can negotiate with other teams. The player’s current team has the right to match any offer, or receive two first-round picks as compensation.

  60. Ndog Says:

Good luck in New England next year Jameis.

  61. Dapostman Says:

    @SB,

A tipped ball is not an excuse it is a fact. Wesley said it appeared to be slightly tipped but didn’t change anything. The ball looked to be a tighter spiral when it left his hand but as it got to the LOS it changed so I guess it was tipped. Whether or not it changed the trajectory I can’t say since it doesn’t show it on youtube. Arians said the ball shouldn’t have gone there because Brate was covered and he knows slightly more than I do.

  62. Zzbuc Says:

    Good luck in New England

Ndog you called me clueless las week.

    Seriously?

The only chance to play in NE is if his coach retires…..

    Clueless?? Me?? Really funny

  63. SB Says:

The Bucs Defense got me 12 points in my Championship
    18 points the week before
And would have had 14 today.
    That is performance!

  64. Ndog Says:

So the 9 points missed by the kicker and the blown 4th quarter lead YET AGAIN by the defense is all good but the QB gets roasted for having a tip passed picked off? I got it makes perfect sense.

  65. JimmyJack Says:

Doosh…..I’ll still stand behind whatever decision is made for our QB. Just not sure they are gonna want Winston now that he’s adding choke artist to his resume.

  66. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Franchise Jameis Winston — then trade him to Miami for the 25th & 70th picks.

ala Washington Kirk Cousin’s trade to Minnesota

  67. Tampabuscsbro Says:

lol Ndog people tell me I get triggered too easily but whew.

  68. SilverBuc Says:

I can’t wait to troll this fan base for every game they lose after Jameis frees himself of this hateful fanbase and media

  69. JimmyJack Says:

NDog the article is about the QB. Gay will get roasted in his article. That’s how it works fool.

  70. Ndog Says:

Jameis is the perfect buy low player that the Patriots love. They make the rest of the NFL look foolish time and time again and I fully expect them to do it again with Jameis Winston. No guarantee of course but it wouldn’t surprise me at all.

  71. Alanbucsfan Says:

    Ndog-
Nobody’s letting Gay off the hook- he sucked today, he’s a rookie, if he continues like today, he’ll be gone…
Face it , Jameis is a Loser in the NFL , but he’s better than Jamarcus Russell.

  72. tnew Says:

I don’t care that it was tipped or not. This was a multi layered failure. Winston, can’t throw that pass there in that situation. He’s had PLENTY of examples of why not to do that. Being said, WTF is Leftwich doing making that call in that situation. That second half was one of the poorest called games I’ve ever seen. This has happened a couple of times. The Bucs are finally running the ball well and they go away from play action. Also, no play action in the second half?? WAY too conservative. I know the Bucs were WAY depleted on the receiving front but to pull so far back and put it on special teams and the defense….Why??

Not sure what to do with Winston yet…. Not going to put out any knee-jerk reactions. Easy to say throw him away but 5K yards is a REAL stat. If the Bucs can fix the short pass in the middle out of the game away more than half of the INTs go away. Part of me wants to say… Winston doesn’t do this well… lets not do that anymore. But….. he seems to have fixed the deep ball last off season, if he can fix the short pass to the LB, you might have something; however, I still maintain that my biggest gripe with Winston going forward is that he lacks the athleticism necessary to play in today’s modern NFL. He’s an old school throwback… Gonna put this to bed and swear off the Bucs for a week or so.. Be able to think clearer down the road. Peace..

  73. SB Says:

    Ndog you are a Joke.
Bottom line is Franchise QBs take the bull by the horns when the game is on the line. Nice of you to cherry pick a bad kicking game to exonerate JW of his two picks again with one of them being a Pick 6………OH Yeah an NFL RECORD LEADING PICK 6!

Just be happy you guys hired Mike Norvell

  74. Ndog Says:

Yes it’s about blaming the QB you fool and it’s ridiculously ignorant just like you.

  75. D1 Says:

“Look at the numbers, I’m balling”

Wow! That isn’t what we’ve come to expect from jameis.

But it does shed some light on his mentality and it’s been the reason why the ints hasn’t been fixed.

Winston’s just created an opportunity to address the issue. Hopefully, 1 of thousands of coaches , heard Winston’s comments and sees it as an opportunity. An opportunity to fix his head. Because this is where the problem is.

Waiting another year , Yr 2 in Arians offense , and hoping he will cut his. …and ..pro..Yaddie Yaddie … Is desperation , not hope.

  76. Ricordo Says:

I think that JW will do some great ballin’ in the Mexican Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional.

    Go Mayas!

    Awesome!
Will you go be a Patriots fan if they take him off our hands???
    Please?

  78. JimmyJack Says:

Did some idiot up there just say the defense blew a lead? Good grief guy they gave up six total points in the entire 2nd half while our team scored nothing nada……..on what planet do you watch football where that’s on the defense. Boy you are growing into a very very special type of stupid……that two verys.

  79. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Jean

Yes, this would be the smart move. I hope Gump doesn’t eff it up.

  80. stevbobucfan Says:

Ndog you’re a real Bucs fan you tell it like it is no sugar coating credit where its do and blame where its do also I was thinking the same thing about Winston going to New England

  81. SB Says:

LOL Two weeks in a Flippin ROW AT HOME that Jameis throws a pick 6 to end the game and NDog is Scraping to find blame elsewhere while 95% of AMERICA says he is wrong.
Stupid is as Stupid does I guess

  82. JimmyJack Says:

Ok let’s not balme the QB……But we can say he choked in OT. There’s a fact. Special just for you.

  83. Ndog Says:

So the fact that a ball gets tipped doesn’t matter? So the fact that we should have blown them out if it wasn’t for the kicker doesn’t matter? The fact that our defense gave up another 4th quarter lead doesn’t matter? All that matters is that you all hate Jameis Winston and want him gone no matter what happens in the future including possibly a huge step back from our offense. You people should be ashamed of yourself for calling yourself a Bucs fan.

  84. MTM Says:

NDog you must be smoking heavy amounts of weed to buy into Winston so hard. It’s great to be loyal but in this case you’re way off. NE isn’t fixing him.

  85. Couch Fan Says:

Im enjoying Ndog making a fool of him self with all these asinine excuses for his man crush.

  86. Dewey Selmon Says:

Why would the Dolphins trade for Winston. They can take Tua and have Fitz mentor him.

  87. Ndog Says:

How many of you were at the game today?

  88. Pete I Says:

Wow, the national media is using a great deal of ink mocking Jameis’s record breaking season.

The 30-30 man is being celebrated around the nation.

Rightfully so, it isn’t every day you set so many records.

  89. You look at my numbers, I’m ballin Says:

    @ LUV MY BUCS

That move would make JBF implode upon itself

  90. Zzbuc Says:

    NDog you are clueless

  91. Ndog Says:

How many of you watch game tape during the week to see what REALLY happens?

  92. SilverBuc Says:

Ndog, it’s not a secret that Florida is one of the most hateful states in the country.

  93. JimmyJack Says:

Could hear pindrops walking out of the stadium…….Along with cussing being mumbled under the breathes of all the fans……….And no the cussing wasn’t about the kicker. Unacceptable.

  94. Ndog Says:

Why zzbuc cause I state FACTS you don’t like?

  95. Pete I Says:

Well NDOG we certainly are ashamed of you being a Buc fan who is wrong all the time.

I’m sure we’ll get iver it.

    The 30-30 man

  96. Ndog Says:

Yes it is unacceptable to miss 3 FGs in one game.

  97. #1bucfan Says:

Shut the F U C K Winston. You ain’t the best. The best wins Super Bowls an doesn’t turn the ball over 30 times. I’m over him

  98. REDZONE BA Fan Says:

Bucs are talented enough to be in playoffs next year, depending on who they re-sign on Defense, i.e. JPP, Suh…Barrett is a lock.

Bruce presser quote of “CANNOT WIN WITH TURNOVERS” spoke volumes regarding his vote on Jameis. Will be a NO. Bucco Bruce wants veteran QB….lots of QB’s on FA market. Which FA QB will Jason target for BA? Rivers, Tanny, Bridewater?

Jameis will be limited for his own FA options. Either as bridge QB, or possibly development option with Belichick watching Tom Brady play out his last year. Or holding a clipboard, as backup on team not convinced their QB is franchise (Raiders).

What a way to start and end his Bucs career.

  99. JimmyJack Says:

Most of what you say really happens is utter BS that doesn’t pan out on tape. Just as the game is a team sport so is the art of each play. Blaming one player only is not only narrow minded……it’s also pigheaded in your case.

  100. Ndog Says:

Again where am I wrong? Did any of the things I stated not happen in the game today? That’s what I thought.

  101. Couch Fan Says:

“Theres so much good and theres so much outright terrible”

    — Bruce Arians

But if you listen to Ndog, there is no terrible. Its everybody else thats terrible. Poor Winston, the unluckiest QB in the history of the NFL.

  102. Adrnagy Says:

I support jameis if he’s back. Even if he cuts his int by half those pick 6 are something that won’t change. I mean. Some games have come down to the last drive. If your the QB you protect the ball. Unless is 4th down. But jameis makes is mind up and throws it.
At this point , if you find a good Qb like maybe carr, Bridgewater or even dalton at a reasonable price you move on. If that option is not there you bring him back but you must move up in draft and get a good QB.

  103. SB Says:

Mike Novell is your hope NDog just focus on that. You are only embarrassing yourself here.

  104. Zzbuc Says:

    Wich fact?
The NE fact was really funny!!
Or the one blaming the defense when they allowed only 6 points on the second have and our offense 0!!! Again 0
Look to 5 years NDOG my darling not some of this seasons games.

  105. Ndog Says:

Yet you do it to the QB now JimmyJack, isn’t that ironic.

Maybe I should do a class. It could be called how to learn football for the Clueless

  106. JimmyJack Says:

Agreed missing 3 FGs very unacceptable……as is the QB choking in OT. As was his other two game ending choke jobs this year. Very unacceptable.

  107. Bucsfan951 Says:

THE NPUPPY DEFENSE. WRONG ROUTES RAN. TIPPED PASSES. WHEN DOES IT STOP? DONT BLAME THE KICKER! THERE WAS A KICK WHERE THE HOLD WASNT CLEAN AND ONE WHERE THE WIND BLEW IT OFF COURSE. DONT BLAME THE KICKER!!! IM USING THE NPUPPY DEFENSE FOR OUR KICKER!!! #kickerlivesmatter #NPUPPYTHEFEMALEDOG

  108. Blue-footed booby Says:

Hah oh man this is reminding me of what the Vince Young defenders were telling Titan fans about their savior. ‘Oh if Vince Young were to leave this crappy franchise he’ll go on to win multiple Super Bowls with another team!’ Of course that never happened much to the chagrin of those delusional Vince Young supporters.

If and when Winston never becomes a franchise QB elsewhere in the league we’ll just hear from his defenders how he was ‘sabotaged’ in Tampa and ruined his chances of succeeding elsewhere when in reality he just couldn’t overcome his flaws from his college days.

  109. Ndog Says:

Did we have a lead on the 4th quarter and blow it? Yes so that is a FACT, you are wrong yet again zzbuc, next!

  110. #1bucfan Says:

The stats he is talking about are pointless meaningless stats if your not in the post season. I don’t give a dam about 5,000 yard passing or his 30 tds I care more about wins. That’s what counts NDOG where are the wins. You can’t win if you turn the ball over 30 dam times bro get it straight you put our defense in horrible position an they weren’t good enough to win with the turn overs.

  111. Couch Fan Says:

I think teaching a class on pathetic excuses is more up your alley.

  112. Ndog Says:

LOL did your turnover machine even manage ONE point in the half when his Defense managed 6 sacks and 9 TFLs ? Oh and he was only sacked once so GOOD PASS BLOCKING.
Yet when the ball was in his hands he did what? Yeah that’s what I thought

Does he do that often………Yeah maybe.
    DOLT!

  117. Ndog Says:

How do you win when the players around you are running wrong routes, missing 3 kicks, blowing leads, not getting a guys hands down on a quick throw? You want the QB to literally do everyone’s job?

  118. SB Says:

NDog you are as funny as Troll max

  119. Mr. Reality Says:

Five years fully passed now. Ended the exact same way they started, with head shaking pick 6. Back then, it was yeah, but Winston has so much potential. He needs to settle down. Five years later he’s the same. This team will go no where with him under center. He has never won a Bucs game that matters. That is, win early and often at home, win on national tv, take the team down the field in the final drive or OT and win the game. He CAN’T DO IT. Enough. And his idiotic statements today show he’s lost his nerve too…an entitled thug is all he will ever be. Move on.

  120. Couch Fan Says:

As I said before, If the ball was tipped that means it was thrown in the wrong spot. Whos responcible for throwing the ball? You guessed it. Mr Winston. But im sure you will keep trying to lay blame everywhere else.

  121. Craig Says:

Matt Gay is a rookie and this is the first time he has played a sixteen game season, give him a break. He will fix it by being more settled next year. The main point is that he didn’t throw a pick six interception on the first play of overtime and doom the Bucs to a losing season.

Luckily I missed Jameis’ interview. I have seen narcissists before and try to avoid them. He doesn’t think that 30 interceptions and losing six games for the Bucs is a problem. Typical. When a narcissist is good people applaud. When they are bad it is someone else’s problem.

If he goes to N.E., he will be there half a year and be out of football. That sounds like the best thing for him. If he gets signed to another contract here the season tickets sales will be cut in half, enough is enough

  122. Ndog Says:

  128. Couch Fan Says:

    @MR Reality

Why do you have to make it so personal? Winston has been a class act since he’s been here. His play gives you plenty of ammo, no need to resort to nonsense like calling him a “thug”. Thats just stupid.

  129. Ndog Says:

In regards to the interview Jameis is just getting tired of people blaming him for everything and he should. Hold some other players accountable like Watson, Gay, Jones the defense the first half of the year, etc… He’s sick of the crap around here and he should be but he will get plenty of credit if he ends up in New England next year.

    Thanks JaBoo!

  133. JimmyJack Says:

As I said above Im not worried too much about the loss.

It did sick bit this game gave our QB a very meaningful drive in OT. He choked two times before this year with INTs and he choked again today.

The results of his performance under pressure today was very revealing. That result of that one drive matters a lot kiddo……As is the offense hasn’t closed out a win all year long. They have had their great moments but when it comes to closing out a game in the clutch it’s been the defense that’s stepped up……The offense has not. Fact……And Winston has been a big part of it.

  134. Troy Says:

Here are the facts that @Npuppy doesn’t want to hear. The defense gave up 6 points in the 2nd half. The offense scored ZERO points. WINSTON stared down his TE and threw another pick 6. 7 pick 6s this year by your fabulous QB, who has never led this team to the playoffs in 5 years.

If you think he’s getting better, show me how. Show me where. Contrary to what people say, he has not regressed. He’s playing exactly the same way he always has – poorly at times and great at times. The problem is that Winston has cost this team 4 games by his terrible play. There is no defense that can cover for the multiple interception games and the pick 6s.

  135. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    2019-30
By all means let’s pay the man 27-30 mil
    That’s hilarious

  137. SB Says:

I just re-watched the Pick 6 in OT 10 times. JW Never took his eyes off of Cam Brate from pre-snap all the way to release. IDGAF if the ball was tipped or not the Defender had already started jumping the route.
I would tell you to go rewatch it Ndog but you have Jameisglasses on

  138. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    what?

As is the offense hasn’t closed out a win all year long. They have had their great moments but when it comes to closing out a game in the clutch it’s been the defense that’s stepped up.

If the defense is actually stepping up that means the offense has given them the lead. How often did the defense step up when they were trailing?

You also left out a few game winning drives by the offense vs Az and Indy.

  140. SB Says:

@Luv…….Yeah actually planning a snowmobile trip to a mountain top to watch all the fireworks. The town has a display and then all the Rich people try to outdo each other. Hope you guys have a great one. Here is to a prosperous New Year!

  141. Ndog Says:

  142. REDZONE BA Fan Says:

    Ndog Says:

So the 9 points missed by the kicker and the blown 4th quarter lead YET AGAIN by the defense is all good but the QB gets roasted for having a tip passed picked off? I got it makes perfect sense.
___________________________________________________________________________________ @Ndog – Nope!!! those 9 points do not count — to the Jameis haters!!! Totally different game if Matt Gay makes just 1 of his 3 missed kicks. No OT. No Pick Six. A win, and all are happy….

I predict with a new bucs QB next year, that ME13 misses his first year of 1000 yards. Jameis talent covered up a lot of bucs sins that are being overlooked due to his INTS.

Bucs fans (and Jameis haters) need to prepare to witness an average of 17 pts/game generated by offense next year. Meaning our D has to be superior next year –in this ERA of offense. Barrett contract is a given. Will need to include JPP and Suh next year, for any playoff or winning record shot. Matt Gay – unreliable…but he will be better next year.

  143. SickofLosing Says:

Joe, I would really like to hear what you think the team should do with Winston. Franchise tag, transition tag, long term deal, short term deal, or let him walk. My opinion is transition tag and hope someone is needy enough to give the Bucs 2 1st rounders. And I know a rookie would take time to develop, but that’s the route I would go.

  144. Jgar Says:

I’m just really torn. Yes I agree he’s (JW)probably never going to lead us to the Super Bowl because he’s always been a turnover machine but today’s loss is on our kicker. Left 9 points on the table and it’s a game we win going away. Oh and he never makes that last throw. Add to that we got OJ HOWARD MR OVERATED DOING NOTHING ENTIRE GAME. Please trade him soon before the rest of the league figures it out. JW throwing to really Perriman today and thank God Rojo had 1st 100 yard game …. FIRST…. that’s just setting him up to fail. I’m all for transition tag and if someone wants him we’ll take the 2 first round picks.

Wish we could get rid of the Glazers and let the fans FINALLY own this team. But, that ain’t gonna happen.

  153. JimmyJack Says:

Dapostman……I was being more specific to the final few minutes of games and how we closed them out.

Bunting closed out 2 with picks. Defense closed out a fourth down vs Arizona. Forced fumbles ended 2 games.

Realize a game like the Rams was mostly won based on offense but they still didn’t have to win via a last minute go ahead drive. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

The three games where the offense had a chance to win with last possession all ended in picks. San Fran, Texans, Today….Again please correct if wrong……..A lot of great from our offense but when it comes to clutch moments under the most pressure it’s been choke. Reminds me of the Lightnings

Unfortunately Adrnagy we have little choice but to put a Tag on him.
BA doesn’t want to break in a rookie.

  169. JimmyJack Says:

To me you can’t blame the kicker. And you can’t blame the QB. Insane as it may sound you can blame both. I really don’t see how that concept is so difficult to grasp. I don’t understand how some fans have this desire to only blame one player only. To each their own I guess.

Also add OJ to that group. Great point above about him being a no show. We lose two top recievers. Next man up don’t just mean their replacements. The surrounding cast gotta pick up the slack. Perriman did it. RoJo did his best but I can’t forgive his fumble……so blame him too.

Blame the punter too or maybe the longsnapper……One of them missed kicks was a bad snap/hold

  170. SB Says:

I mean in the first Three minutes of last game Jameis gave the other team 10 Points and you nut huggers want to rag on the kicker for missing two kicks and the punter for messing up a hold?????????????

  177. JimmyJack Says:

SB that’s not fair. Falcons got ball first and scored a TD on the trick play. On our drive the first play was a RoJo(think it was RoJo) fumble.

I see things on the sideline that people not lucky enough, which I don’t take for granted, to go the games do not get to see. So when I see the coaches talking to Watson in the sideline after the play it is a pretty good indicator as to who messed up. Despite any deflecting you wanna do you simply cannot make a case that we can win with this guy. Picks like that one in OT completely tear down any argument you can try to make.

Against Texans same things. That’s two in a row. Two chances to make statements. And both were fails. Choked once and once again.

The bottom line is in the NFL alls you get is one game. And if you get one drive at the end of the game to win it you gotta have a QB who can deliver…….Now if Winston had stuck one in the Endzone today to end it we could talk. Nope he choked.

You tell me how we gonna get through the gaunlet of a NFL schedule with a QB who chokes? You cant

So like most of you I spend enough time here to read both sides of the JW debate.

I see some hyperbole on both sides. The level of JW support seems to fluctuate in the middle but the supporters and “haters” remain the same.

So here is my question for all of you.

At Christmas of course I got to hang with lots of friends and relatives. Many were sports fans…not as involved as most here but informed…many have gone to Buc games and consider themselves fans.

What surprised…perhaps even shocked me was both the unanimity and strength of the anti Jameis feelings. They laughed at me for even asking the question should the Bucs keep JW. They were ALL send him packing.

I think the overall opinion about JW is far more negative outside the blog than here on JBF.

  198. JimmyJack Says:

HAhahaha…..I was at the game….I win the argument.

Some of the dumb spit that comes out of your mouth boy.

  199. justdave Says:

I’m starting to wonder if Ndog is Jameis.

  200. Mr. Reality Says:

Ndog I go to every game too and sometimes I am ON the sideline and what you are saying is few and far between. It is usually Winston taking the rap, rightfully so.

  201. Pryda...Sec147 Says:

Jameis I hope they lock you up for the next decade

  202. Coburn Says:

Reason some aren’t as hard on Matt gay? He’s played pretty well outside the Giants game and this and he’s a rookie. Jameis has had 5 years and still pulling same stupid crap. Maybe kickers don’t quite have the learning curve and is more mental but we haven’t had to endure him as long.. then again some are in other side of fence because years of bad kicking in general

  203. Bucsfan951 Says:

NPUPPY DEFENSE… BLAME EVERYONE EXCEPT WINSTON. 30ints and only 4 are his fault. Perhaps it’s the Npuppy theory??? NPUPPY, winstons official girl puppy dog!

With that said, defense balled out, once again! Julio Jones kept under 100 yards!!! Ryan outplayed Winston. Winston with that stellar 75% qbr!!!

  204. Anonymous Says:

Is this guy a sociopath? “I’m ball’in” is his response? Dude you’re a perennial loser. Your record shows it. He’s taking absolutely no responsibility here for his record. And I know the team has sucked around him but wow he’s patting himself on the back. Not my kind of leader.

  205. T REX Says:

ndog is a PUNK. A pats fan to boot. Can we ban him?

Time to start taking out the trash on here. Silver buc is another punk.

Too many ignorant trash fans. Winstonpologists. TRASH!

  206. Brandon Says:

You have to franchise him. Get his rights. Maybe we’re stuck with him and the light comes on. Or we are able to draft his replacement. or we trade his rights for Derek Carr or someone that can play right away.

I just know that letting him go without having any guaranteed fall back options would be stupid.

  207. Pewter power Says:

I’m ballin? That’s what you say after throwing a pick 6 and losing the game which is the very last play of the 2019 season and the first thing that will be mentioned on the first snap of 2020 lol wow

  208. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Jay Miss can lose in Tampa or he can lose somewhere else. It’s time to cut out the cancer that is Jay Miss. He’ll never be more than a low level starting QB. He has never been any good and will never be any good. He’s a low level 20-30 starting QB at best. He would be a pretty good backup. He looks good in a visor carrying a clipboard.

  209. lambchop Says:

    @SB and @Ndog,

I get the kicker missed 3 FGs, but you can’t use THAT as your excuse. It’s the NFL, any given Sunday anything can happen. You want 30M+? Play the game to win no matter the situation. Jameis is lucky he doesn’t have Bill Parcells as his coach, he would have chewed him up for lunch and told him to STFU about fixing this and that and about yards. It takes 2 players to get yards, especially with errant passes the way Winston throws. 2 special passes a game doesn’t mean we have to suffer the unknown of how Intston is going to play game in and game out. If you want to cry about backup WRs and all that, then maybe Jameis should ride pine when the world’s don’t align to camouflage his deficiencies. There’s a guy in NE who made names out of scrub WRs. That’s part of being a great QB.

Jameis is an average QB. He is literally on the fine line of being above average (yards and TDs) and being below average (TOs, INTs, Pick-6s). You cannot sugar coat it any other way.

Stop being a bish and realize you can’t be part of the problem and sulk that things don’t go your way or that you had so many yards. If you’re part of the problem, it doesn’t matter. Nobody cares about any of that because TOs swing games.

Jameis is the equivalent of baseball’s Mitch “Wild Thing” Williams.

  210. MirrorMirrowOnTheWall Says:

Koetter is a big part of the problem as well as the route running.

  211. MirrorMirrowOnTheWall Says:

    What is the obvious Joe?

  212. MirrorMirrowOnTheWall Says:

    Lots of stupid comments.

  213. BucHead588 Says:

Listen Jameis could throw for 50 Ints a year an if the Bucs Win people will show up all the Bucs have to do is Win with this Defense they can win with Rojo running the way he did today they can win if Matt Gay makes his FGs they can win Jameis was carrying this Offense 3 of top 4 WRs out the OLine played goood the second half of the Season was a Different Bucs team after VH3 got the Boot this Defense Stepped up night time let’s Bring this DLine Back an go Win some Games Next year Shaq is your NFL Sack Leader Man Bucs got a Team

  214. JameisAlmighty! Says:

He played with a broken hand people….! He is the Almighty Famous Jameis Winston! Can’t wait for next year when he comes back signed and ready to deliver. The Bucs look poised for a dynasty with Jameis coming back that could rival the great Yankees and the Warriors.

  215. Bucsfanman Says:

I guess we can count humility and self-reflection as turnovers too!

    Wow! He doesn’t get it!

  216. Ed Says:

Heres an interesting compare to a historically good QB that had numbers very close to Jameis yet won games with a worse defense because even though he had high turnovers, he didn’t throw pick 6’s or fold in 4th quarter.

    1979- 24 TD’s, 4082 yards, 24 INT’s RECORD- 12-4
    1980- 30 TD’s, 4715 yards, 24 INT’s RECORD- 11-5
    1981- 33 TD’s, 4802 yards, 17 INT’s RECORD- 10-6

His inceptions during his best 3 seasons were similar to Winston but his leadership and timing were way better than Jameis. Who is he? Dan Fouts Chargers

  217. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

I will cut him some slack on the Press Conference as it is really one of the first times that we have ever seen him let some of his frustration show in that way.

It was interesting watching him speak. It was actually sort of hard to watch. He was speaking as someone that knows he is immensely talented and capable of performing at a high level, and has done so often….. and yet, he has NO ANSWERS as to why the interceptions keep coming.

It has been a wild ride, for sure.
And yes…… button down the hatches all.
    He will be back.

  218. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    Mister Negative Nancy Says:
    “You’re a Bucs fan or a Winston fan… can’t be both.”

    ~~~~~
    Lol, pretty ridiculous comment.
  219. unbelievable Says:
    That exchange frustrates me to no end.
    He simply doesn’t get it.
    Still.
  220. BucEmUp Says:
    How many times does he throw the ball a game vs the other qbs in the league who throw high ints and then against the qbs who dont? Jameis finally has a good defense going inro next season assuming everyone stays together or the roster improves, but how about getting a running back now?
    I was never high on a running back early besides christian mcaffrey prior to now because its almost impossble to run the ball with a bad defense .Now that the defense is fixed get a dominant rb and take pressure and pass attempts off of Jamies shoulders.
