“He Makes Too Many Plays”

December 17th, 2019

Boards America’s bandwagon.

Michael Lombardi isn’t the only former NFL suit who has flipped.

The NFL record set by Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, back-to-back 450-yards passing games to pull the Bucs to an even 7-7 record, shook the NFL world.

One of those on the bandwagon is Lombardi, the former coffee-fetcher for Bill Walsh, Bill Belicheat and Al Davis. The former Browns general manager looks at Jameis with a different eye now that he is among the NFL elites.

Lombardi, who admitted in the past he probably wouldn’t re-sign Jameis due to the turnovers, now said in his recent “GM Shuffle” podcast that Jameis just does too many good things that offset the bad.

“I mean, I watched [Sunday],’ “Lombardi said. “I watching Winston. I think if you cleaned it up a bit, maybe a little more attention to detail. You almost have to pay him.

“Like I’ve gone 360 on this guy. I actually think going 360 is the purest way to make the right decision. Because I think you fall in love, you fall back out of love and then you fall in love. …

“Where am I going to get somebody better than [Jameis]? If I can just cut down on — and some of these turnovers are not fair to Jameis. They are not all on him.

“I’m just thinking you are going to have to live with [turnovers]. At some point you say, ‘You know what, he’s going to have some and we have to clean them up.’ He makes too many plays.”

Lombardi also cautioned that Jameis lighting up Detroit should be put into context. Lombardi roasted Lions coach Matt Patricia for having a “soft, high school defense” that “begs you to throw” and is “slow as sh!t.”

At this point Lombardi’s co-host Adnan Virk yelped about the horror of paying Jameis and Lombardi cut him off.

“What am I going to do?” Lombardi asked. “Where am I going to get somebody else? He’s better than [Marcus] Mariota. I mean, Mariota can’t do half this sh!t. Where am I going? I mean, don’t you agree you have to pay Jameis? I don’t know what else to do. I have no idea.”

Now the question Joe has is, how much?

Spotrac has his market value at about 26 a year, I’d be cool with like a 2 year extension for like 52-56 with only the 1st year guaranteed.

  2. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Word is that Jameis wants the moon, and that will all but force us to Franchise him.

  3. Kobe Faker Says:

“Jameis Winston is the Alex Forrest (Fatal Attraction) of NFL QBs

Should we give him $30 million dollars per year or boil a rabbit”

  4. Ace Says:

Jameis will get what Jameis deserves… pay the man!

  5. LordCornelius Says:

he needs to clean up the melt down games.

9 INTs in 2 games this season

27 TD : 15 INT in the other 13 games

In general 2 games per season make up like almost 50% of his career interceptions.

Also pretty sure OJ Howard alone is responsible for 3 INT’s due to dropped/tipped passes

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We can sign Winston if we offer him close to franchise money……make him a 2-year deal for $50 million guaranteed…….then after that, if you need….franchise him another 2 years……

  7. WestChap Says:

The franchise tag value ($26-27M) is the dividing line between hoping for the best and ridiculous over reach. The bad comes with the good and can not be ignored if you decide to pay him. Who wants to bet that JW’s team makes a soap opera out of the offseason with an outrageous demand for something like 5 years at $35M each with lots up front and guaranteed? Tag him and then try to do a 3-year deal with a clean exit after year 2… if he turns into the second coming of Favre, then back up the Brinks truck. Of course, Shaq is sitting there as franchise leader in sacks expecting a payday… and we only have one tag. :@

  8. TOM Says:

If the Bucs pay JW & Shaq, I doubt that they will pay JPP Suh. They will probably sign Nassib & Gholston who is having his best year.

  9. QUE589 Says:

Don’t see elite potential in Winston. You cannot be a perineal contender throwing interceptions at a high rate. It’s year 5 no excuses. Bucs gotta move on and draft a QB.

  10. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

Chris that’s all it is a rumor. I wouldn’t believe all that’s said right now. People are going to just any and everything to try a start a story. Jameis will give us a deal and it will be a win win for both sides. No worries.

  11. Slugglife Says:

Doing a 360 puts you right back where you were.

    It’s a 180 genius.

  12. bucsince79 aka bumaneer Says:

    For the 3rd time… He will get 30M+ a year… Sign him

  13. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Jameis will be the FIRST Buc’s QB to be signed to a second contract!

Don’t Buc this up! Pay the man, 30 M now is a lot but will be pennies in 2-3 years when guys are raking in 40M+

  14. Adrnagy Says:

Lombardi like many ppl now believe in jameis ?? Garbage analysts including the guys at ESPN. Stupid ppl say stupid things and get paid.

  15. PUGS&BUCS Says:

If the Bucs don’t re-sign Jameis, I’m done with my Season Tickets. Drafting a new QB means another 50 games of growing pains and the D will still be bottom-half. Signing some other team’s backup will just be another McCown/Leftwich/Fitzpatrick mistake.

Dumping Jameis is admitting you’re in the second decade of an endless re-build.

  16. Gary Says:

    Sign Kareem Hunt

  17. Adrnagy Says:

    Spencer and Cyril ?

  18. Marlow1976 Says:

360…. too funny. Well, he was a Browns GM.

  19. Buccnbeliever Says:

The only problem with the tag is what if he holds out. Would Jameis do that? Hmm…I think he works too hard but who knows?

  20. 813bucboi Says:

    2 year 50mil with a 3rd year option at 35mil….

    _________
Nah, he said 360 and he meant it. He loved him, he hated him, he loves him again. He’s gone full circle. A 360

  22. JimmyJack Says:

Buccnbeliever…….There’s another problem with the Tag. Another commenter brought up that Mahommes & another top QB are due for contracts next season………This is going to up the price for QBs. Also add to that the Bucs are primed to go on a playoff run next year.

Using the tag now forces us to face a long-term deal next year and the price tag might reach close to 40M.

We have to lock up Winston now while the gettins good. We’ll be glad we did later.

Plus there’s a new CBA coming that off-season and it could very well favor the players getting more $$$.

  23. JimmyJack Says:

Thinking about all this contract crap and the thought we might lose our QB gives me the same pit in the bottom of my stomach that I had right before we drafted Winston and I was sure the Bucs would screw it up and select Mariotta

  24. Jean Lafitte Says:

I would slap a non-exclusive franchise tag on him.

  25. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Even French Phenom Jean “Shorts” Lafitte is onboard the JW Express. Wow!
    Oui, Oui!

  26. ColBucFan Says:

I want to see how he plays Saturday. So far we have won 1 game against a winning team. If he plays well Saturday he deserves to get paid.

  27. BucEmUp Says:

    YOU PAY THAT MAN!!!!

Nobody works harder, the talent is there and you NOW SEE what he can do with a decent team around him. Improve the defense even more and figure out what is wrong with the running game ( I still think its play calling which has drastically improved but is still weak with the running game. I think its mostly formation and execution) You HAVE to pay Jameis. There are lesser QBs making big money out there. PAY THE MAN!!!!!

  28. Robert Says:

nothing has change. turnover machine. cut him and use the money wisely.

    BA has NOT fixed him.

  29. Defense Rules Says:

Got this feeling that IF the Bucs were to lose these last 2 games (and end up 7-9) with Jameis throwing say 3 INTs/game in each loss, many of the same Bucs’ fans (and media) who now say ‘Give him what he asks for’ will be screaming ‘Move on, move on’. Fickle fans? And media.

Bucs played the best defenses early in the season, and lost against the 49ers (#5 defense), Saints (#14), Titans (#8) … 4 of our 7 losses. We did help them however by committing 12 giveaways in the 4 games we played against those 3 better defenses. Of course, losing to the Giants (#27 defense), Seahawks (#21) and Panthers (#29) took some work, but our 9 giveaways helped some in those 3 losses also.

Thus far this season, Bucs have committed 21 giveaways in our 7 losses (an average of 3 giveaways per game), as compared to 11 giveaways in our 7 wins (about half as many giveaways per game). No problem though, giveaways don’t count. Pin the losses on the meh running game & awful defense. Ya, let’s go with that.

Without Mike Evans & Chris Godwin, it’ll be interesting to see if Jameis can ELEVATE the remaining WRs & TEs to come out with victories. Houston (#19 defense) and Atlanta (#25 defense) aren’t exactly setting the league on fire defensively, so that should help. And our defense is playing much better now, so that should help also. Maybe even provide a few takeaways to help ‘set the table’ for the offense? These last 2 games can tell us a LOT.

  30. Defense Rules Says:

Jean Lafitte … “I would slap a non-exclusive franchise tag on him”. And so they shall.

  31. ocala Says:

It’s funny to me that people are saying give him a one year deal or a two or three year deal.

If Jamies agent(Joel Segal) has any sense he is not going to talk to the Bucs about a contract if they do not offer him at minimum 4 years guaranteed at $110MM.
If the Bucs want something shorter than four years then they will have to franchise him.
How did it workout for the Redskins to franchise their QB?

The Bucs will be lucky to sign him for 4 years at $110MM

  32. Defense Rules Says:

JimmyJack … “Plus there’s a new CBA coming that off-season and it could very well favor the players getting more $$$.”

Just SUPPOSE JimmyJack that the new CBA allows each team to take ONE player out of the salary Cap equation and pay him whatever you choose. (THAT scenario has been talked about many times BTW). Bucs (and all teams) are making plenty of money; such an arrangement would just cut into their profit margin a little. No big deal.

So IF that transpires, why worry about locking up Jameis (or any QB) right now? Worry about it AFTER the new CBA is finalized. Franchise tag him (non-exclusive) for 2020, and if need be again for 2021 (if no new CBA yet). Could even do it a third time if need be.

  33. Hamsadwitchtime Says:

Slug you start out in love out of love and love him again… genius

  34. Hamsadwitchtime Says:

    That’s 360

  35. Buczilla Says:

The season is not over and Jameis has proven time and time again that he will simply implode and look like a complete buffoon every handful of games. If he makes it out of these last two games relatively clean (no one is perfect) then I like the idea of a two year deal that a lot of folks are talking about here on this thread. If he says no then franchise him, because there is no way in hell that we should break the bank for this guy like the Rams foolishly did with Jared Goff. If Jameis plays his a$$ off next year, then pay him market value. Draft a QB next year to cover your butt and it should be smooth sailing…

  36. Boombang Says:

@QUE589, Tell that to Brett Farve and Peyton Manning who have similar numbers to Winston’s turnovers in their first 5 years…
This guy is absolutely correct….Winston’s good out weight the bad….Their was a coach in GreenBay that said the same about Farve….So Wolf/Holgrem went out and got a hella defense to offset Farves mistakes

  37. Frankinthe813 813 Says:

    He’s done a 180 not a 360…..

  38. Jean Lafitte Says:

    ocala says,

How did it workout for the Redskins to franchise their QB?
    _____________________________________________

They could’ve counter offered but they chose not to and let Cousins walk and Minnesota had to give up 2 first round draft picks for him. Luckily, Cousins has played well, and it seems it might have been worth it as Minnesota will win their division. Cousins underwhelmed in the Capital.

  39. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Um…Minnesota didn’t give up two first rounders for Kissin’ Cousins. They let him walk like so many here want to do with Winston.

  40. Jean Lafitte Says:

The Rams are now going backwards as far as keeping and paying their own home grown talent. Forget about signing big FA’s. Goff’s contract really is starting to strangle the life out of a once promising up and start franchise.

  41. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Mean Jean dipping into the champagne early/often today. Cousins was tagged multiple times and became a free agent. They aren’t likely to win their division ( Green Bay is or has…) and The Rams will be against the cap soon…but traded for Ramsey and are doing all they can to make another Super Bowl run ( probably won’t happen this year ). The Gurley contract is looking like the real clunker now.

  42. JimmyJack Says:

Defense Rules that is interesting but there are way too many variables involved in a new CBA rule for us fans to really comment on. You would think our front office has a pretty decent idea of how CAP rules might change.

But if I had to guess I would think that new rule would not be as simple as pick your highest paid player and he doesn’t count. Sounds too unfair to the players because then it would just be QBs who get that…..Then you’ll have QBs making tons of money and no other players. Would assume a new rule like that would help more then just QBs to get payraises.

If the rule was that simple that you get to just pick one player who is exempt from the CAP & pay him whatever you want then then the Bucs better go into panic mode and sing Winston long-term immediately…….Look no further then the MLB……Tampa Bay simply cannot compete(dollar for dollar) with the Jerry Jones of the world and high market cities like LA NY & CHI ect.

  43. Ndog Says:

Defense Rules how many TOs did we have against each the Seahawks and Giants? I’ll wait…

  44. Jean Lafitte Says:

I’m wrong, the Redskins were going to tag Cousins but made a trade for Keenum, so they decided to let him walk instead. But at first they had planned on tagging him with the non-exclusive tag.

  45. Craig Says:

I am not enamored with Jameis. He can’t remember. from game to game, to look off the linebacker before tossing the ball to him.

Just think what he is going to have forgotten by the beginning of next season. I do understand the ego of offensive coordinators, head coaches, and such. They will think that they can fix him. Like drunks and gamblers, though, Jameis can only be fixed if he admits he has a problem.

Pay him and he with that his …don’t stink, he won’t see the problem until we are 2-4 or some such.

    Franchise Shaq Barrett.

  46. VA Tom Says:

    It’s not about Jameis’s capability. It’s about his W vs L record.

  47. TSmitty3000 Says:

Deshaun Watson and Mahomes are about to get mega deals. You’d be better off signing Jameis now and cross your fingers. Derek Carr and Goff got huge money and Winston is clearly better than those two. We can debate Wentz vs Winston. Winston is talented and the team believes in him.

The other thing is Arians is the first good coach Winston had since entering the league. Many of the QBs we like have good coaches. Anytime you sign someone, you’re crossing your fingers.

Yall can say “It’s just Detroit,” but Patrick Mahomes didn’t carve the Lions up like that earlier this season

  48. JimmyJack Says:

NDog….. Counterproductive to bring that up. If we gotta argue them game then it’s necessary to bring the San Fran and London games that Winston basically threw away.

Why open up old wounds like that? Completely unnecessary.

Instead why don’t we look at the team in the present tense. That now has a good defense that can actually close out games for a change & even take over games from time to time. And we got a offense that can put up points with the best of them.

How bout getting jerked up for a big test with Houston this Saturday(on a national stage!!). Let’s not dwell in the past……Trust me nothing good is back there.

  49. LaMarcus Says:

Most of you guys here was saying JW was a bust. Now yall think u know what’s best for him? Gtfoh

    It’s not about Jameis’s capability. It’s about his W vs L record.
    ——————————————————
That to me is contradictory. He is capable of making the throws and he is capable of leading the offense to enough points to win. He is NOT capable of playing all 11 positions on defense.
Can’t you see that now, with at leave an average defense, the Bucs are winning!
Jameis is doing his job, which is to score, so pay the man!

  51. Cgmaster27 Says:

@vatom that whole win loss thing is so ridiculous and lazy. How many losses has the defense given up on the last drive to the opposong team?
I guarantee its in the double digits since jameis has been here. How many years has this team had an evenaverage running game? That right- just 1 time in the last 5 years. Jameis has his faults and hes lost game for tjis team over the years with his tunrovers. But the win loss record of one player om a sport like this is just again lazy.

  52. Jean Lafitte Says:

^^^Oh he scores alright ..unfortunately for us for both teams

  53. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

That’s a good one Jean, I’ve never heard a Jameis Winston interception joke.

  54. JimmyJack Says:

Well the more we keep winning the less and less relevalnt the Winston bashers will have to say.

We close out this thing with 2 home wins and the bashers will be nearly irrevelant.

If we don’t finish 9-7 what the bashers apparently aren’t seeing is how this defense is starting to really come together and is legit. And they are only getting better. We will make a playoff run next year and we’ll just have to put up with the bashers all off-season again.

They’re days are numbered though. Believe that.

  55. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

Defense rules the difference has been our defense has actually played middle of the pack good these last few games which is why we are winning. Our offense has been scoring points all season. Defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed was the reason we all have been complaining. Jameis wasn’t the issue. So maybe you should preach what your screen name says….

  56. cmurda Says:

2-3 years at 30 mill per year. That’s where I see it happening. 26 mill per year might be average based on a long term contract but on a short one, you have to pay a bit more. Jameis, the Qb and Jameis, the man have earned it. All the drama with this guy from dumb young adult mistakes and he never whined and instead let his play and staying out of trouble do the talking. I respect it and now that he’s stepped his game up a few levels higher, you live with the turnovers and try to reduce them but you can’t possibly let him walk and the franchise tender would be a high price to pay for a 1 year deal.

  57. JGar Says:

This week’s game will say a lot. Limited weapons on offense will require JW to manage (no turnovers) his best game. ANDFFF the defense will have to play a great game. This is the type of game the defense will need to come up big. IMO Bucs 23 Texans 21.

  58. Jean Lafitte Says:

Us bashers are tired of being sold a bill of goods. Maybe some of you dingleberries will finally realize this by the middle of next season when we are (Winston 6 seasons)..again eliminated from post season play, ..again.

Seems we’re stuck somewhere between groundhog day and idiocracy.

  59. Ndog Says:

Simple JimmyJack we are playing a team that is shooting for a division title while we will be running out J. Watson, B. Perriman as our only two WR along with no running game and a still average defense.

  60. unbelievable Says:

Even if we split the next 2 games, that means in a season that started off 2 – 6, we finished 6 – 2.

That is improvement any way you slice it. I don’t care that our schedule was weaker towards the last half of the season, and you know why? That Pats get 5 – 6 automatic wins every single year because the rest of their division sucks (I know the Bills are finally decent this year). Does anyone say they’re not good b/c they beat up on bad teams? No.

You gotta beat the teams you’re supposed to beat first, before you can start upsetting the top tier teams on a consistent basis.

  61. Jean Lafitte Says:

wow …right now 2 wins more than last season. We’re on a roll!

  62. ATrain Says:

Let’s not forget 4 years of Jamies

Also Jamies has won against.500 or less teams

  63. Ndog Says:

Jean you seriously can’t see that now that the defense doesn’t just suck out loud we are winning games? I mean we all know you loathe Jameis but when you don’t at least admit the obvious you just look foolish. I mean let’s just ignore that anyone with a brain has been telling the likes of you for 3 years that if you give Jameis just a average defense we would win games cause I know that would make you look foolish too. Oh wait no matter which one you choose you look foolish nevermind, oh well sucks to be CLUELESS.

  64. Chris Cotten Says:

Just like John Malkovich said in”Rounders”……. Pay that man his money

In Glazer Loot We Trust!!! It’s not our $$$ However, We act like it is… Pay #3
    $30M

  66. JimmyJack Says:

Jean what bill of goods? We just fired a entire coaching staff and installed new schemes on both sides of the ball.

Did I predict 11-5? Your darn right I did. Did it have to be an immediate turnaround and if not I’m jumping ship? Absolutely freaking lutely not!! That’s a insane standard.

I’m sorry I’m not a regular kneejerk fan like most…..But I realize success takes time. Look at Vita V look at D White look at Bunting…….Same goes with coaching staffs……Bill Walsh, Don Shula, Tony Dungy, Pete Carroll, Bill Bellickick…..even the Big Tuna himself.

Sure I was disappointed we struggled at first. But I darn sure aren’t apologizing for staying patient……..Now the team has turned the corner so ya better jump on the bandwagon while there’s still good seat. If you don’t think this teams turned it around you just arent seeing right.

  67. JimmyJack Says:

NDog……Sounds like you scared bro. Knock that off we gonna play a Damm good football game on Sunday…..The day and age of excuses in this town is done and over with.

Time for these guys to step up…..Whose gonna stop them. Hargrieves? In the words of McCoy….Don’t make me laugh.

  68. JimmyJack Says:

    Saturday*

  69. JimmyJack Says:

And why the EFFF are some of you wierdo making excuses for winning? What kind of wierd fan makes a excuse for winning? What is the matter with some of y’all? After being kicked in the teeth for nearly 2 decades I don’t care if they put a Dixie League Softball team on our schedule. I hope the Bucs go out their and beat there ass!! And I’ll love every minute of it!!

I guess every fan base needs all types…..but making excuses for winning? Dang that wierd.

  70. Ndog Says:

I wouldn’t say scared, I would say cautiously concerned, mainly cause this is a timing based passing scheme and with new players there is ample opportunity for mistakes. I firmly believe that we can win it’s just going to be much more difficult than it should be.

  71. Wesley Says:

20mil max, he’s not a top tier q.b., what has he won? Also his int’s have gotten worse.

  72. Tval Says:

What has wentz won, Wesley? Rhetorical.

  73. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Y’all talking about his wins either:

    1) Hate Jameis to the core and will never change your mind no matter what
    2) Know next to nothing about football or how a TEAM works

Jameis doesn’s have the luxury that a lot of the “top tier” QBs have in playing with a good defense.
When our defense shows up…imagine that, we win.
    (cue cherry pickers)

  74. JimmyJack Says:

NDog that sounds better. Yes obvisously it will be tougher to win. I still don’t see there’s any way this game don’t get into the fourth as a close one. We are not just playing good right now we are a good team. This will be proven on Saturday.

Most people are calling it a test for Winston but I think a game like this is more of a test for your playcalls. They have said the Texans are weak on defense. So I don’t care who we got out there a good play caller should be able to move the ball against this team.

Also looking at our RBs here……..about time these stiffs start contributing to this team. They have been carried all year. The team needs them this week more then any. Time to step up.

No matter what happens it should be a good game for evaluation. See who we can count on to step up when pressed into action……..Was awesome to see Perriman & Wells do it last week. Now let’s see if we got anybody else worth a salt.

  75. Jim Says:

Thanks, Slugg,..you said it for me.

  76. JimmyJack Says:

Wesely please educate yourself. Stupid comments like that just make fans who read them dumber. You are hurting our fanbase with this nonsense.

In case you are unaware(and not just a troll) starting QBs cost more then 20M……Flacco and Foles cost more then that last year. Dalton or Eli Manning will cost more this year(if they get starting jobs). 20M is completely unrealistic and is not and never will be a option. You can’t find a designer watch at Walmart for $20.00 and you can’t find a starter in the NFL for 20M. It’s just not possible.

If you don’t want Winston for over 20 then just say you don’t want him at all cause it’s your only option…….and it don’t make nobody dumber for reading it.

  77. Steven007 Says:

Jimmy Jay, thanks for saying it for me. Some fans need to be realistic here. Starting QB salary is what it is. We will start from there and negotiate. That’s really the long and short of it.

  78. SB Says:

LOL we thought it was bad in Tampa with FG kickers. The Titans just became the first team since 1987 to miss more FGs than they made.

  80. jjbucfan Says:

Some of you people amaze me, during the threads even the haters start praising JW- then during the week they are back to their SOS which is getting tired. Look JW is a 25-30 mill. a year QB when you add incentives regardless of any of our opinions. How many players that got franchised are still with that team? It has to be seen as a disrespect by these players because “if you love so much, then give me a long term deal” must be what they are thinking. IMO, they can work a 4 year/125 which includes all incentives if achieved and consider it a steal. If we franchise him by the end of next year, if the defense improves and Matt Gay continues to improve, we could be looking at 38-40/year. The one thing the Rays are good at is wrapping up their young stars early and getting them “cheap”. Of course them they trade them- so Stu sucks- but they get them cheap for a few seasons. We should have signed Barrett after week 6 to a long term deal. Nassib should kill to be here, we revived his career. JPP should give us a big discount because he missed half the year this year because of an off field issue and we stuck with him. JW is the ultimate team player and if he needs to take a little less total but more guaranteed or vice versus, I believe he does this for the Bucs. Dude has more pride in his little finger than most of you have in your entire bodies. He knows he hasn’t been perfect, he still has something to prove to this franchise and this fan base. Instead of breaking him down- we should be celebrating him…..but then there is Gator Fan, just can’t let it go and understand that he plays for YOUR team now. SMDH

Wht OBP said but I would still draft a contingency plan in the 2nd rd

  82. JimmyJack Says:

jj…….You should take the stage at One Buc Place and present that speech to the fans. With a American flag as a backdrop and trumpets playing…….And I will stand to that!!

    Bravo man.

    Epic Post.

  85. July Joe Says:

There were actually IDIOTS who thought Mariota was the better & more talented QB … those people should NEVER talk about QBs again … ever!

  86. July Joe Says:

By the way Jameis threw 15 of his 24 picks in just 4 games … that leaves just 8 picks in his other 10 games. It’s not like he throws 2 picks every game … he throws them in bunches when he’s trying to sling us out of getting blown out.

    TOs are sooooooooooooo over-rated.

  87. German Buc Says:

    It’s a business decision looming.

Our D line played – imho – very well since JPP returned, so I’d be glad if we keep the guys together – all of them. I guess the presence of Suh helped the run D and his effort together with Vea collapsing pockets allowed Shaq & company to get to QB and making life easier for our young secondary.

I was hoping JW settles for a Brady-type of a contract to provide the team a little bit of breathing room. It seems I was wrong.

We all know offense fills stadiums but defense wins championships.

  88. NEWBUC Says:

Many still do not get it, they should follow field hockey. He is 25 years old and will have over 20k of passing at the end of this season.

Surround him with a thing called a football team and you will get tired of winning championships. He can’t play defense and run the ball all by himself …Hint.

  89. Capt. Tim Says:

    (Sigh)
I feel this way the last 3 seasons.
It seems Jameis plays his best, when either the game or the season is over.

But despite the Turnovers, Jameis has looked truly extraordinary the last two weeks.
I still dont trust him, off the field.
But you gotta keep him. He can be a game changer.
I just hope we arent out of the playoffs agin, this time next year.
This is a talented team- and the Defense wont be a liability next season

  90. MTM Says:

Why would any rational owner pay Winston franchise money? You already know what he is. A highly prone QB who chucks interceptions, has bouts of butter fingers/fumbles and runs like a drunk Ronald McDonald. There is a ton of QB talent in the draft and your betting on a guy who has just recently played decent against sorry teams after 5 years. Winston’s best play comes at meaningless times. Either the game or season over. I would much rather watch some new QB learn the system than watch year 6 of the same stupid sh*t. Its not personal and I hope he is figures it out one day. Just not willing to wait 5 more years to realize what is already known.
