End Of The Line For Suh?

December 29th, 2019

Curious social media post.

Some interesting words from Bucs defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh.

In a few hours, Suh will have played out his contract with the Bucs. And not only does it appear Suh could be playing his final game in the ugly Bucs uniforms, based on Suh’s Instagram post Saturday evening, could it be Suh’s last game in the NFL?

Suh took to social media and had this to comment. It wasn’t so much Suh’s words but a quote from American novelist Louis L’Amour.

“There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning”

Feel free to make of that what you wish but it seems that something is coming to an end. Whether that is his Bucs days or his NFL days, Joe isn’t sure.

Hell, for all Joe knows, it’s that Suh has paid off his mortgage.

Suh will turn 33 a week from tomorrow.

If it is curtains for Suh, it ends a 10-year career in which the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2010 draft has only missed two starts, those coming in his second season in the NFL.

That’s a helluva lot of snaps and punishment for a lineman.

Feel free to speculate what Suh is getting at here.

  1. westernbuc Says:

In the words of Norm MacDonald:

“Until I met my wife, I always felt incomplete. Now I’m finished.”

  2. AwShbucs Says:

I’ll tel ya something about that Norm Macdonald guy… he seems like a real jerk!

  3. Todd Says:

“…until my agent secures my next $10 million contract.”

  4. stpetebucsfan Says:

Well as the optimist let me take the most positive view.

Perhaps he’s referring to our franchise’s days as the worst in the league. Maybe this season was the finish to our suckitude and the beginning of building a quality franchise.

    Well one can hope right?

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Well…he just got married and is a smart guy….perhaps wanting to pursue something else.

It will save us the money and give us plenty of notice so that we can replace him.

  6. BigHog Says:

Get him to stay with an 8million $ offer and draft his replacement with our #1 draft choice!!!

  7. El Buco Realisto Says:

That will be a huge loss for the d-line!!!!!!! But as I foretold this past offseasons, the D-line was not built for the long term!!!!!!!!

Also the man knows that this team is going nowhere in 2020, so better to ride off now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Merry New Year Sheep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Kobe Faker Says:

“#1 reason why our run Def was so good

5X the player as Fatboy Vea

Very intelligent person and a professional who takes his job serious as you can tell from his body

Suh is the anti loaf Donovan Smith and all the rest of the fat slobs on both our lines.”

    Kobe Keto Faker

  9. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Realist you are just a troll. My prediction for this year was 3 wins. I was wrong and happy as hell about it. The team has turned the corner and will be in the playoffs next with Jameis at the helm. Turns out the sheep already knew and were right and the king of the trolls was wrong.

  10. bucnole Says:

would be nice to work out a way to get 1 more year out of him.
not sure that is possible given the cap space we will have to work with and the number of players that need new contracts. THIS is where the JW situation hurts.

  11. Allbuccedup Says:

The bucs were 9-7 three years ago and I heard the same thing. The realist may be right. The best we can do this year is 8-8. Jameis will probably best Vinnys team record of 35 ints.

  12. Allbuccedup Says:

Next year 36 ints for Jameis.

  13. Jean Lafitte Says:

This news would guarantee Will Gholston’s return. Plus give this years rookie Anthony Nelson a shot at starting next season unless Licht brings in a veteran.

  14. Bucs Guy Says:

Not sure the Bucs were going to resign him (cost vs, production), but I’m for keeping him only at the right price. Regardless, DT should be our #1 pick.

Obviously everything depends on who we re-sign (especially JW) and what we do in FA. My choice is RT in the 2nd and RB in the 3rd. If possible trade up to the 2nd for the RB you want. Need to look at trading OJ for a 2nd and a 4th. Pick O-Line and D-Line throughout the draft. Lineman aren’t sexy, but they’re essential.

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Louis L’Amour is one of my top five favorite authors. Another quote:

‘No sense in worrying over things that are outside you ability to change.’

  16. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Your

  17. AwShbucs Says:

Next yeah Jameis is an MVP candidate.

  18. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Worth keeping the entire defensive line together, but if we draft a suitable replacement, or sign one in free agency, he’s the most expendable.

  19. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

First pick has got to be Right Tackle, if one is there.

  20. orlbucfan Says:

Now, that would be interesting to see both JPP and Suh retire. JPP broke his neck earlier this year. Suh didn’t, but sounds like he’s got some common sense.

  21. Adam Lakers Carolla Says:

AwShbucs……you sir, are a true Norm fan.

    And as always…..GO BUCS!

  22. Brandon Says:

Whomever keeps insinuating that JPP will retire is smoking crack. The dude didn’t have to come back this season. He worked his contract so he could be a free agent. He came back early from a potentially career ending injury for the 2nd time. He plays with extreme passion and loves football. What about all that info makes ANYBODY think he’s considering retirement? JPP is going to be one of those guys that is dragged into retirement kicking and screaming.

  23. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

He is going to play somewhere next year might as well be here allowing the Bucs to draft OL

  24. gp Says:

    I prefer St Pete’s take
    Ever the optimist

  25. lambchop Says:

It could just mean that the Bucs have told him that they want him back. All everyone seems to post about is how we can’t keep him past this season, I’m sure he’s heard it too.

  26. Pewter power Says:

He didnt waste his money on life sized batman figures or a bat mobile, he’s already got his post football life set up. Dude has always been about business.

  27. 541Buc Fan Says:

He could be talking about it being the last game of the season and th per off season starting.

  28. AKickInTheBucNuts Says:

LOL! Does no one know anything about negotiating?

    That’s all this is.

He knows all the talk about keeping the D together, so he throws this out there in order to increase his contract leverage.

  29. Kenny Says:

I would make sure not to let this guy go. He brings the nasty McCoy could never bring.

  30. Pick6 Says:

He was like a Mankins for the D line. I think he might be referring to the fact that it’s time to get ready for the 2020 season. Suh wasn’t some freakish speed/agility guy, he’s big and strong and he’ll still be equally big and almost as strong next year despite his age

  31. Tampabuscsbro Says:

damn realist, ttroll and Kobe should get an apartment together that way they can come up with the refuse they post in here 24/7

  32. Pick6 Says:

On a related note, GMCs stats: another fired coach, another last place finish, and very little production outside of one inspired afternoon in London. I think there was more to the “attitude upgrade” than I thought there would be.

  33. Doctor Stroud Says:

I knew that Suh’s days were numbered when he started hanging around his new “mentor” Warren Buffett. He did well as a Buc, and he had the kind of season we wanted from Gerald McCoy. I wish him the best!

  34. MadMax Says:

One more year with us Mr. Suh! One more….
