Deion Sanders: If Bucs Are Thinking Win Now, Then Jameis Is The Guy

December 30th, 2019

It’s going to be a parade of experts weighing in on all things Jameis Winston after Jameis set good and bad records in 2019.

And Joe will be sharing.

Next up is Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.

Simply stated, Sanders said last night on NFL Network that Jameis is worth keeping and the work at One Buc Palace should go into cutting his turnovers versus searching for a new QB.

Is that a shot at coaching? Do Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich need to tweak the offense to minimize risk? And does that include a stronger threat out of the backfield?

Sanders was clear that if the Bucs want to win now, then Jameis is the guy — a guy likely to take a step in Year 2 in the Arians system. If they have a more long-term approach, then Sanders is open-minded to moving on. Sanders sees too much talent in Jameis to call for his head today, though Sanders clearly believes Philip Rivers is a good option.

  1. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I think that Jameis will get $25 mil from the BUCS

Jameis wants $30 mil and the BUCs want him at $21 Mil…………..they’ll happily split the difference at $25 mil for four years………..with a 15 miliion signing bonus……..

$115 million for four years if he BUCS wheel n deal with Jameis

  2. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Thank you, Deion. Someone knows.

1TD 0 INT Teddy Bridewater is not the guy especially for BAs offense.

  3. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    I disagree

If the Bucs get a game manager at QB and the same defense is retained……the Bucs will make the Playoffs.

Chris Godwin and Mike Evans would make any QB look good….JW should be counting his blessings that those two receivers made him shine for the past couple of seasons.

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I’m not in the camp that there are teams out there waiting to jump on Jameis for big bucks……
The non-exclusive franchise tag will give Jameis more than he deserves and will show him that there is no other team willing to pay him that.
If I’m wrong, we get two #1 picks…..
    Better than letting him walk.

I also would have not problem with a much cheaper bridge option……Rivers, Manning, Dalton….or even Fitz (again)….at leas Fitz proved he can rack up some yardage 3 straight games 400 yds (record)…..and, yes he throws picks….but he’s a much cheaper option….spend the money on our FAs & Godwin…..draft a stud RB….OT……move on….

  5. Pete I Says:

” the work at One Buc Palace should go into cutting his turnovers.”

    Hahahahahahaha

That some funny stuff right there.

Without his 111 turnovers Jameis wouldn’t be the 30-30 man that the national media is talking about. Primetime is wrong win now or win later you can’t get rid of the only 30-30 man in the league by changing what he does or fixing him…let him run free!

  6. Colonel Angus Says:

What? A Florida State guy backing a Florida State guy? That’s like my mom saying I am special. Which I am, cause momma said so!

  7. Buc4evr Says:

FSU homer, his opinion doesn’t count. Jameis will never take this team to the SB. Just more brain farts and losses.

  8. Larry Says:

I am serious!!! Is there something wrong with Winston’s vision??? Can’t help but notice how he squints to see. Some of the turnovers are so obvious anyone should be able to see them. Winston is the same QB that he was in college. Tooooo many turnovers. You can’t get away with that in the NFL. He is NOT worth top 10 QB money. 20 million per year is enough!!! (it may be too much)

  9. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    See

    There’s the Bias right there

There’s alot of BS / Political posturing going on right now from the Jameis camp and from the Glazers, One Buc camp.

You know Jameis agent slimeball is selling Jameis to the Highest Bidder then using that as leverage…..

…..If MG8 can get like 17 million as a backup QB……Jameis will definitely get over 21 million a season.

  10. BrianBucs Says:

Amazing how the FSU folks take care of each other no matter what.

  11. MidwestBucsFan Says:

Sanders said last night on NFL Network that Jameis is worth keeping and the work at One Buc Palace should go into cutting his turnovers versus

Sure, year 6 is a great time to start (?) working on cutting down those pesky old, crippling, game-changing turnovers…

  12. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

FSU homer who has no clue about the bucs or probably has not watched 1 bucs game this year. Let me know what dan orlovsky, rappaport, bucky brooks & others who watch game film & evaluate the players.

  13. Hodad Says:

The problem is the work has gone into eliminating Winston’s turnovers. Good coaches, Koetter, and Monkin, and some great coaches, Arian’s, Tom Moore have been trying. It doesn’t matter, no one has been able to do it. If you keep banging your head against a wall I know your head will crack before the wall does. Winston is the wall, and all our heads are cracking.

  14. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Hodad

I agree…..alot of serious BUCS fans agree

……but once again…..who you gonna bring in that’s going to be better????

I’d prefer to let Jameis walk….then get a game manager QB like a Teddy Bridgewater

  15. Tbbucs3 Says:

The defense has only started playing good very recently and folks wanna act like they’ve been this good all year.

If the defense played like they have the last 3 weeks all year the Bucs would be 11-5 or 10-6 with Winston at QB.

  16. BrianBucs Says:

When Sanders was still playing in the NFL he would be licking his chops to play against Winston because he knows he would get 2 or 3 easy picks.

  17. Adrnagy Says:

A new veteran QB or a top qb rookie will take them at least 2yrs. First to learn the system in which the first year you’ll pop 20int. Second to get communication down with receivers.

So no way ! Bruce is going that way. I’ll be surprise. He keeps jameis for the next two years. And of course he will draft a QB or bring in a backup. For future.

  18. zzbuc Says:

I disagree…..I ve been hearing this for the last 5 years….Remember weapons for Winston? Well he is pretty loadad with weapons…of course would be better with a running game…….His turn overs killed the bucs…..If we can´t replace him, welml then tag him, give hium another chance but only 1 year commitment, not a long term commitment…..If you fix your sh*t well we speak in 2021…….
The only thing taht CAN¨T happen is a long term expensive deal…..But with this GM everything can happen, even drafting another kickcer…..

  19. SteveK Says:

Price vs. production- most QBs are better because they don’t turn it over more than ANYONE.

  20. Adrnagy Says:

When did the “loading “ of weapons started ? Did jameis had this weapons since day one?

  21. SC Bucs Fan Says:

If the Bucs want to be a .500 team and have a QB lead the league in interceptions again then JW is the guy to lead us.

JW with the most passes intercepted since 1988. And he’s a fumble machine. Sure, lets hitch our wagon to this star.

  22. Kobe Faker Says:

“THE BUCS FANBASE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES

Kobe is amazed by the stupidity of the local sports media following the national hate of JW3 (95% of National media believes BA is calling the plays)

THE LOCAL SPORTS MEDIA SHOULD KNOW BETTER

    4 YEARS VS 1 YEAR

    Whats longer in length?

In 4 years there is enough of games to evaluate a QB

Why has JW3 yearly avg ints doubled only this year (also OJ production)?

    What has changed?

JAMEIS WINSTON IS A AVERAGE 15-17 INTERCEPTION QUARTERBACK

    THAT IS MATH AND FACTS

KOBE HAS STATED MANY MANY TIMES YOU CAN’T WIN WITHOUT A CONSISTANT SHORT PASSING ATTACK

it does not mean you cant throw vertically downfield , but you must be able to threaten the defense and move the chains with the short passing game

JAMEIS WINSTON HAS REGRESSED THIS YEAR UNLIKE THE PAST 4 YEARS BECAUSE

of BA archaic offense and Leftovers playcalling

look at ALL THE 5 YEARS AND LOOK IN THE MIRROR”

    Kobe Faker

  23. RSJCheapSeats Says:

    More coming from JoeWinstonFan.

  24. T REX Says:

Wow, an fsu honk think s Winston is good. Breaking news.

Joe, get with the program buddy. The fan base hates that loser.

  25. Ndog Says:

The bottom line is just like in years past if we had a good kicker and an average defense we would have been in the playoffs this year. There is no debating that. With those two items this year we beat the Giants, the Seahawks, the Falcons and maybe the Saints in the first game. Jameis can and will get better in year two of this offense but like always if we don’t have a more reliable defense and kicker it won’t matter. I know making fun of Jameis is something everyone likes to do, for some reason, but the same problems still costs us this year.

  26. lowercaseg Says:

I would rather take a chance on philip rivers

  27. Adrnagy Says:

Jameis has improve. What happen to the fumbles this year ?
Koetter and Monkin great coaches ?? Pls. I’m assuming smithtty was a good coach in your eyes.

Bruce plan this year was to let the players play. Was he coaching on the moment yes. Did he want to win yes. But let’s be honest , you’re implementing a new system. You don’t know the habits or skills of players Or how to make players fit.
If Bucs are in win mode now you keep Winston and Dotson and the dline. Obviously .. improve on the roster but not drastically. Why tear down what working ?

    Hodad Says:

The problem is the work has gone into eliminating Winston’s turnovers. Good coaches, Koetter, and Monkin, and some great coaches, Arian’s, Tom Moore

  28. Kobe Faker Says:

“The last 6 games of 2018 w/ Koetter

JW3 was top 5 QB statistically in every category

    WHAT HAPPENED?

In 5 years it is mathematical and factual that

JW3 is a 15-18 average INT QB per season

WHY HAS IT DOUBLED ONLY THIS YEAR?

JW3 HAS REGRESSED THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF BA ARCHAIC OFFENSE AND LEFTFOOTS PLAYCALLING

THE TRUTH AND ONLY BUT THE TRUTH”

    Kobe Faker

  29. reply Says:

I am OK with Rivers as long as we draft a QB to take his place either this year or the next, T LAW anyone? I have defended JW for years and guess what I have had enough!! GET HIM OUTTA HERE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! There are options to move on without him. BA said the Bucs wont beat themselves next. Then letting this SOB walk is a good start to keeping this promise.

  30. reply Says:

Also PLEASE PLEASE draft a everydown RB!!!!

    Hubbard
    Etienne
    Dobbins
    Swift

    Either one will do!

  31. Adrnagy Says:

Rivers equals to a jameis. A young jameis. No point to get him.

  32. Bucsfanman Says:

Ndog- While your statement is true, it can also be flipped. The issue here, in year 5, is that we KNOW Jameis is not going to change.
Put simply, do you trust Jameis to lead the team to victory when the game is on the line?
Remove all other aspects. OT, Bucs have the ball, Jameis at QB. Do you trust him?
    Therein lies the quandary.
Tag him and let him test the market. There’s very little risk in that maneuver.

  33. Tampabuscsbro Says:

FSU shills screeching and crying. I LOVE IT KEEP CRYING ABOUT HOW WINSTON WILL GO TO THE BELICHEATS.

  34. D-Rome Says:

Still waiting on your thoughts about Anthony Becht, a consistent Jay-Miss supporter, saying the Bucs should move on.

  35. TexBuc Says:

Love how some just get hostile with Sanders for his opinions…lol

  36. Ndog Says:

Bucsfanman first off good response. To answer your question yes I absolutely trust HIM, now the players around him not so much. But either away do you trust the defense with the game on the line? They have given up 4 4th quarter leads this year, what would our record be if they could hold a lead and our kicker made kicks? See that’s it, if we had 11 wins this year no one would care about the picks because we won.

  37. Craig Says:

Heard that, the first time, in 2015

    Heard it again in 2016

    Then again in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

That is enough times to be told Jameis is the savior of this franchise. Try a different direction.

  38. BeaverSqueezer Says:

Last playoff win: 2002 Season. 18 years. Keep trusting the owners! Lol! Buy more tickets lol!

  39. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Hey Sanders, you mean “win now” like yesterday? Got it.

  40. WyldKat Says:

The second step of a 12-step program.

To Jameis! The cause of… and solution to… all of the Bucs’ problems.

  41. 813bucboi Says:

    Not surprised at his answer

    GO BUCS

  42. adam from ny Says:

phillip rivers has stated he is ready to play for another team and bring along his 8 kids…

as long as the glazers supply him with a mini jet for the kids, and a transport bus and driver around the tampa area to move his little gang around town

  43. Bruce Blahak Says:

    B U L L S H * T …FSU hugger….WINSTUNNED SUCKS! Proven again and again, and yesterday, again

  44. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Hmmm… been thinking that for 5 years… and the best thing I can think of is that Jameis has learned to throw the ball away and he learned that in his 5th year…

  45. Troy Says:

Passing yards by playoff QBs this year –

    Wilson – 4110
    Bradt – 4057
    Wentz – 4039
    Mahomes – 4031
    Rodgers – 4002
    Garoppolo – 3978
    Watson – 3852
    Cousins – 3603
    Jackson – 3127
    Allen – 3089
    Brees – 2929 (11 games)
    Tannehill – 2742 (12 games)

I’m going to state the obvious – RECORDS DO NOT EQUAL WINS. For crying out loud, this is just stupid. Spotting teams 10 or 14 or 17 points because of your turnovers, then throwing the ball 50+ times to play catchup is an easy way to throw for a ridiculous amount of yards. Oh yes, it’s the coach’s fault that Winston stares down his receivers after 5 freakin years in the league.

By the way, notice how this list has no one within 1000 yards of the
    knucklehead Winston?

Yards per play given up by defense –
    Seattle – 6.0
    Texans – 6.1
    GB – 5.7
    Eagles – 5.5
    Titans – 5.4
    KC – 5.4
    NO – 5.3
    Vikings – 5.2
    Ravens – 5.2
    BUCS – 5.1
    Bills – 4.8
    49ers – 4.7
    Patriots – 4.7

Notice how the criticism of the defense is crap when you dig into the stats. Yep, we gave up a ton of points. Keep turning the freaking ball over in your end and you will give up a ton of points. Bottom line is get a QB who throws for less yards and turns the ball over less than 15 times during the season and we have a playoff team. Use the money to keep the defense together and let Winston walk.

  46. Buccernutter Says:

Ah man so Brett Favre, Deion Sanders, Warren Sapp, Bruce Arians, Booger McFarland, the entire cast of GMFB, even Steve Smith is giving in. All These people think Jameis will be great.

Just saying, the debate goes both ways.

  47. Gman Says:

well…THERE is an unbiased source….he probably also thinks Christian Ponder should be the backup

  48. Bucsfanman Says:

Ndog- To your question about the defense, in the beginning no, I did not trust them. However, you must agree, this defense has improved light-years from that dismal start.
    I trust them more now.

You and I diverge on our trust of Winston. That’s OK, everyone has their opinions. When we opened with the ball in OT, the only thing I could think about was for Jameis not to throw a pick. That is not trust. It shouldn’t be the turnover I’m thinking about. It should be how the Bucs score the winning TD. That’s where I’m at with Winston.

  49. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

“Win now’??? With 30 something turnovers by your QB???? That’s a freaking joke!!! Win now? Here’s how you do it….the Saints’ TEAM……for the ENTIRE SEASON….had a grand total of eight…..yes 8….turnovers.

  50. SmittyToiletBowles Says:

Winston was kept around the last couple years because his salary. On his rookie deal he was easier to put up with. Anyone pays him over mil theyre gona regret it. Hope its not here. Keep JPP and Barrett please and find a qb who will not lose games. Winston just hates seeing his punter work.

  51. LordCornelius Says:

Man it’s hard for me to have faith at this point. Entire team turning around, defense and run game all clicking even too, and he plays worse than when the team around him was bad.

  52. Costa Rica John Says:

They say a lot of his turnovers come from him staring down receivers. Get the man a smoke colored face shield so the opponents can’t see where he’s looking. Go Bucs!

  53. stpetebucsfan Says:

    NDOG

I’m going to try and do this respectfully although in all honesty you have alienated a lot of us who used to respect your takes with your obsession of JW. We get that you are a huge fan of his and that is fine. But you’ve now identified that you are a bigger JW fan than a Bucs fan. You seem more concerned with poor liddle Jameis fight against all those “haters” than the fate of the Bucs.

Having said that…here is one area where you are totally missing the point!!!!

“The bottom line is just like in years past if we had a good kicker and an average defense we would have been in the playoffs this year. There is no debating that.”

Well I won’t try and speak for those who would debate that because I won’t bother….it’s NOT THE DEBATE we’re having and totally misses the point!

The majority of those of us who are ready to move on do not care enough about JW…especially after his remarks after a seventh pick six…to hate him. We just want him gone. We do NOT CARE anymore about his POTENTIAL or how many wins we can get.

Where we disagree is you post as if JW is the ONLY QB who could have won this year with the Bucs given the exact SAME teammates. Many of us believe there are more than a just a few…more like a few dozen if you count rookie draft picks QB’s who could have made the playoffs with THIS team warts and all. That is the real debate.

We could EASILY turn JW perhaps into even more draft picks if we do as TBBF suggests…or even better as LUV has suggested trade JW to the Dolphins for two of their top picks…with our pick we are now poised to do some real damage in draft in terms of finding another Pro Bowl or borderline…OL and another DL with enough draft power left to find a really good RB…and yes perhaps a rookie QB.

Or we grab a Rivers…Dalton type if affordable and hope for a Rich Gannon like story.

Bottom line is….do we think JW is worth all that money! Is he the ONLY QB around who could QB a championship team.

Would we be happy with Brad Johnson…Trent Dilfer…Joe Flacco and a couple more SB’s or do we demand an Aaron Rodgers or Brees type.

One other undebatable fact…JW CANNOT CARRY A TEAM…IMHO he could be a serviceable QB if he accepted his shortcomings. The sad truth is while winning is exciting…exciting is not always winning!

  54. james west Says:

yeah i like the idea of the franchise tag, then if someone want’s him we get two first rd picks, i just simply do not believe we can win on a consistent level with jameis as our QB, if so we would have after 5 years period

  55. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Sign Andy Dalton and draft a qb. Winston sucks plus he’s blind ….

  56. PRBucFan Says:

    Deion doesn’t lie

    Phillip or Jameis

  57. H8JWLVEBUCS Says:

Could you imagine what the Bucs could be with a good QB man I would love to see that. JW is not gonna get you to the Super Bowl he will get u to the playoffs and then blow it.

  58. Mike in MO Says:

Ryan Fitzmagic. Sign him. Let Jaymiss walk. Spend that savings on resigning our D-men.

  59. Kansas95Buc Says:

I said it once and I’ll say it again, you can tell who is really watching the games by reading the comments. Somebody really said to bring back Fitzpatick…….let that sink in for a moment

  60. Kansas95Buc Says:

And for the Winston bashers, how come the coaching staff hasn’t implemented shorter passing routes and quick release plays? That would help remedy the INT’s and sacks. People love to complain but never offer any logical solutions

  61. firethecannons Says:

ok-franchise Jameis and get Jacob Eason second round

  62. MadMax Says:

Yeah, of course neon deon is going to say that…cant stand the guy myself….but he in jameis corner, you know, just becuz.

  63. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Ink in a ton of incentives related to lowering INT’s that will only push the $$ way up if you take care of the INT’s.
Manning had about the same number of INT’s his 1st 5 years , but Colts and Dungy were smart enough to see the upside possibilities.
Start asking yourself why a GM like Licht was resigned for 5 years after accomplishing NOTHING and wasting a #2 and #5 draft picks on a FREAKING KICKER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kicker does his job and Bucs are 9-7 minimum and we are not even having this conversation…………
Or let JW win his Superbowl someplace else , just like Bucs did with Williams , Young , and Dilfer.

  64. MadMax Says:

I liked Eason at first after some highlight watching….but then watched some full games and he doesnt handle pressure well and is bad at overthrowing. Could be coached out of him, i dont know.

  65. David Says:

    I agree mostly.
Year 2 in this system should help.
    A RB should help.
The OC is going to get better in year two of the system as well.
They need another OL and a RB.

Jameis has had how many different systems and coaches in five years?
That has killed more QB careers than anything else in football.

If he doesn’t have significant improvement in interceptions, 13 or less, then move on and do everything they can to draft Trevor Lawrence.

  66. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Is that a shot at coaching? – Joe

Good Lord…I don’t understand the way you think sometimes, Joe, lol.

Allow me to clarify: Arians and Leftwhich improved Jameis in multiple areas this year…all Sanders is saying is to do the same in the turnovers.

    • Break the habit Jameis has of staring down his targets. Part of this is because of the new offense, but we all know that habit existed last year as well. Arians can help Jameis fix this.

    • Fix the offensive line. I don’t care what stat providers say. If Jameis got sacked more times than ever before, then the line is NOT doing it’s job. Winston’s picks increase as his sacks increase. That has ALWAYS been the case.

  67. BucAllNight Says:

    been saying this all along

  68. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Buccaneerscotty Says
    “Sign Andy Dalton…”

    Absolutely horrible idea.

Oh, and unless we trade up, we won’t get a top QB…not to mention it is a crapshoot anyway.

  69. Jonzey Says:

We need to resign JW to a 25 million a year deal with 5 millions extra due to no more than 15 int and 30 TD and playoff. If he do that next year redo his contract and make him the highest paid QB in the league

  70. Anonymous Says:

Bottom line the Bucs can’t have a winning season or get to the playoffs and forget about ever winning a Super Bowl with Jameis Winston at quarterback point blank. Teddy Bridgewater should be brought here to be the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Saints will not be able to Sign Drew Brees, Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill so the Buccaneers should be waiting in the weeds. How many NFL teams will be lining up the sign turnover prone Jameis Winston he’s going to take those same habits right to that team thanks but no thanks. After five years forget the potential I need the results.

  71. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Really do not understand all the need RB chatter , suggest you compare ROJO to Leveon Bell , Sony Michel , and Leonard Fournette. ROJO showed what he can do and it was nice to see.

  72. Troy Says:

Keeping Jameis isn’t a crap shoot. You know this team is never making the playoffs with him as the QB. How do I know? 5 freaking years of tape gave me the answer.

  73. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Better look at Peyton Mannings 1st 5 years of INT#’s Troy my Boy

  74. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Free Agency & QBs of mention:

    • Philip Rivers: (38) Healthy.Comp% in 60s. 20 INTs. 8 Fumbles. High Price.
Earlier in his career I would have killed to have him. Now? Not so much.

    • Andy Dalton: (32) Comp% 52.8. 14 INTs.13 Games. 8 Fumbles. Low Price.
The good news is we can franchise Winston and still look around for a better option. All we have to do is drop the franchise tag if we find one.

    Low production. Terrible QB.

    • Tom Brady: (43) Keep Dreaming.

    • Drew Brees: (41): Assuming he does not retire, even if the Saints decided to move on, he would not sign with the Bucs, a division rival.

    • Eli Manning: (39 in January) Comp% in 60s. Traditionally low INTs. Few to Average Fumbles. Last year he was sacked 47 times, and yet still kept INTs low.
Not a long term fix…might have 3-4 years left in him…long enough to groom a QB to take over. IF he is willing.

Ryan Tannehill: (32 in July) Comp% in 60-70s. Not more than 17 INTs in a reason, and that was only once. Usually hovers around 12 or fewer. Fumbles can be an issue, but not the last 2 years. Sacked 31 times in 12 games. Still only had 6 INTs and 6 Fumbles. Age is right.

    • Teddy Bridgewater: (27)Comp% 60s. Was never good, until this year. Traditionally, he is unpredictable and injury prone. 2 INTs. 1 Fumble.
    11 Sacks in 7 Games.

  75. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Ryan Tannehill seems to be a good option.

  76. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

To me, Rojo is good enough to start in the pass-happy offense. Barber is not…but he is good depth.

  77. Jean Lafitte Says:

I keep hearing this “Jameis will be better acclimated in his second season in BA offense”.

I don’t see why others assume he struggled in is first season, because Bruce Arians offense is very, very similar to Dirk Koetters, Don Coryell type offense.

  78. orlbucfan Says:

I’m staying out of the JW fights. I was very heartened to see radical improvement in the defense. Bowles has flipped some sort of switch and these guys, most of them very young, are responding. If BA never does anything else, enticing Bowles to come here is a very big PLUS in my book. We need young linemen to complete the unit. Between Licht, Bowles and BA, that will be done.

  79. Ship Thief Says:

Primetime also said he’d take Rivers as his QB on any team.
    I’m leaning that way too.
    Draft OL and RB

  80. Wesley Says:

    That’s some funny sh*t.

  81. Admiral Redbeard Says:

Why does he (or any qb looking for a huge contract) think he deserves more than Tom Brady? That’s the only thing Licht should be saying to/asking Jameis agent when he comes knocking.

  82. July Joe Says:

Tony Dungy blamed Arians on Football Night in America and said the Bucs definitely should bring Jameis back, and compared him to Peyton Manning.

Prime Time says the Bucs should definitely bring Jameis back as he knows no other available QB can win the way Tampa plays like Jameis.

And before you IDIOTS say “win?” … in games with 40+ throws Jameis was 4-5 and Dak Prescott who most call a “winner” was 1-6.

JW is the guy for Arians system.

why does everyone care what the Glazers pay Jameis its not your Money everyone thinks the grass is greener on the other side i dont remember Colts fans trying to Send Peyton Manning off he had 12 more Ints then jameis does right now in there Careers 5 years Manning 100 Jameis 88

Listen everyone an their grandmothers know that Winston is talented. No one can’t deny it an if they do their just a hater but we can’t win with turnovers like that. Even the greatest defenses will be gassed by being on the field to long. I’m not a Winston hater just hate his turnovers. If there is somebody better out there then get him just doesn’t seem there is right now. Cheaper ain’t always better y’all. Keep him till you can replace him

  86. GoldBoy Says:

Those who want to compare Jamoist to Manning need to remember a few things. Manning took the Colts to the postseason 3 of his first 5 seasons. Manning had a terrible defense during those years. The difference is he made enough good decisions when the games were on the line. Three of Manning’s first 5 seasons he had at least 10 wins or better. Those three seasons equal 33 wins. That’s 5 more wins than Jamoist did in 5 years. Add in 3 playoff appearances as well. Bye Felicia.

  87. Jonzey Says:

We need to keep JW and work on the O-line and running back 1st round OT, 2nd RB, 3rd OL

    @Ndog and @Kobe Faker,

These 2 make our points for us. Every post is about how the stars have to align to COVER UP Jameis Winston’s deficiencies. He’s gonna give you 15-18 INTs a year. Deal with it. He’s gonna take risks into double and triple coverage. Deal with it. He’s going to have 5,000 yards but throw a pick-6 at the most inopportune time. Deal with it.

NO. We will not deal with it. He cannot play a complete 16 game season without sharting all over himself. His positives do not out weigh the negatives.

So many times I have read, Jameis has to score 30+ points to win, cuz the defense sucks. No, he probably has to score 20 points to win if we negate the freebies he gives the other team. Our defense came around as well, and that excuse as also gone. Yet he still found a way to lose.

The kicker had 2 bad games, and we still had a close game with a chance to win. The kicker is not demanding 30M+ a year, so stfu please.

Winston is not worth top 5 QB money.

This is the way. I have spoken.

    @Goldboy

Wow what an incredibly lazy analysis. How many times in Peyton Manning’s first 5 years was he asked to throw the ball 40-50 times and end the game as the leading rusher as well? I’ll tell you, almost zero because they had a HOF talent running back threatening to lead the league in rushing every single year in Edgerrin James. You mention “playoff appearances” and conveniently cut yourself off so you dont have to mention the EPIC 4-int MELTDOWN against New England early in his career.

The lack of context is painful. Be better guys.

  91. PriMech54 Says:

ALSO, “5 more wins than jamoist” – first of all, oh my god… 5 more wins in 5 years with such a vastly superior quarterback according to you… Just be sure not to mention that “jamoist” has more career losses with a passer rating over 100 than Tom Brady; 12 of them, to be exact. Multiple in this year alone. Funny how hot takes like yours start falling apart when you provide even just a little bit of context…
