Arians: Jameis Is Nearsighted

December 30th, 2019

Vision and picks.

For the longest time, many Bucs fans have speculated that Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, has a vision issue.

Fans see Jameis sometimes squinting on TV and add two-and-two and figure bad vision is why Jameis likes to play Santa Claus.

Today in his season finale presser, Arians admitted Jameis does have a vision problem but that’s not why he’s throwing out picks like firemen toss out candy to children in parades

Yes, we all know Jameis wears a visor. Joe was told in the past that prescription visors do not exist due to the curvature of the football visors. And last year Jameis admitted the visor he wears is not prescription.

Arians was pretty adamant that Jameis’ nearsightedness is not causing picks.

  1. You look at my numbers, I'm ballin Says:

    Jameis Squintston to the rescue!

  2. MadMax Says:

    LOL….this just gets more and more hilarious…theres contact lenses, corrective eye surgery…but wait, theres also this, A Different QB under center!

  3. Bucs fan from Philly Says:

    I had Lasik eye surgery done nearly 4-5 years ago. It cost me $2000, and took 15 mins, and a day to recover. Winston can easily get this fixed in the offseason. Perhaps after he signs a franchise tag or big contract so it doesnt screw himself out of money, but the point being he can easily fix this.

  4. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

    5 years in and he still hasn’t gotten contacts or anything to correct this?

  5. Dewey Selmon Says:

    we knew this 5 years ago.

  6. MidwestBucsFan Says:

    “Our bad, guys.
    Turns out he couldn’t see well the last 5 years.
    Totally fixed now!

  7. Robert Says:

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA……..Srsly?

    LOL

    He can read the scoreboard. I can see it from 75!!!!

    Even if he was blind as a bat, and thats not what I am laughing at,……..now they say this.

    Where’s a C’MON MAN! when you need one?

  8. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Our original logo had a pirate with only one eye open and the only 2 QB’s in Buccaneer history to throw 30+ int in a season are colorblind and nearsighted. You can’t make this stuff up.

  9. Tampabuscsbro Says:

    YOU HAVE TO BE !!!!!!!!!!!ING KIDDING ME YOU HAVE TO BE !!!!!!!!!! KIDDING ME

    WHY WASN’T THIS PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF.

    so a guy with bad sight can see everything in perfect vision 20+ yards away from him?

  10. Mike Says:

    Remember vinny on his way out of town announced he was color blind

  11. Robert Says:

    and NO…apparently he CAN’T see the guys, be it linemen or DB’s in front of him
    !

  12. chris L Says:

    classic bucs soap opera. these things cannot be made up. hopefully this is the beginning of a disney style movie ending with the bucs raising a banner in tampa next february 2021.

  13. Marlow1976 Says:

    According to JW he is “ball’n.” JW may be more colorblind than nearsighted, but I’m just speculating.

    I recall Joe wanted Canton to get the ball, jersey, etc… for JW’s recent yards per game feat, I think that is what it was… anyway, Joe, do you think Canton wants the ball and jersey for JW’s latest feat? He is now the NFL’s new 30-30 man. Perhaps the Rays could use a 30-30 man. You can’t throw picks in baseball… ;(

    So…maybe he’ll fall for the contract Jason Lite offers him
    $ 3,000,000.000000/years 3 years guaranteed

  15. Pewter power Says:

    Nothing to do with not being able to throw a simple out route. Scrap it from the playbook and the ints drop significantly

  16. Robert Says:

    SIGN him!!!

    tell him it’s 20 mil, and make the check for 2 mill

  17. gotbbucs Says:

    Mr. Magoo

  18. D-Rome Says:

    Arians is correct, his nearsightedness is no excuse. It’s the 21st century! Corrective lenses have been around for around 800 years.

  19. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    He must have had his contacts in when he spotted the mating cockroaches on his back porch filming Hard Knocks or whatever that show was called

  20. Conte Piscateli Says:

    This reminds me of when we were told Vinny was colorblind and that was the cause for his interceptions. Problem was Vinny was a Heisman trophy winner on a college team that wore orange and played on an NFL team wearing orange so I fail to see that as the reason for the issue. Jameis couldn’t see 7 years ago when he won a Heisman, still can’t see now, problem is he stinks at pre-snap reads, it’s why he’s his the ball so long, and tends to throw his worst picks on his first reads.

  21. Smashsquatch Says:

    Love it, so predictable. Bucs already beginning their smear campaign to lower his market value. I suspect this won’t be the last negative thing we hear about Jameis. It’s so obvious and quite comical. BA coddles Jameis all season and then flips a switch once the season has ended. This off season is going to be a roller coaster, buckle up.

  22. adam from ny Says:

    omg…

    so basically he has short game…but no long game…

    let the madness continue…

    anyway…give me andrew luck, pry matthew stafford away from detroit, or sign crazy jameis at 5 years 125 mil…

    no to flacco, dalton, eli, rivers, and you simply can’t bring fitzie back

  23. mark2001 Says:

    Jameis …. Optometrist’s QB.

  24. reply Says:

    Excuses, excuses!! This is getting sad now.

    Joes just face it this guy is a failure. Just admit it is time to move on. I dont know how but we all need to. I hate this so much but he cannot return here as our 2020 QB. He is the lone reason we have lost some games this year. Yeah yeah you may blame the defense for some earlier games which is understanable but this guy as a individual is failing this team. The defense improved but this guy did not and actually maanged to regress AND somehow improved his stats but it did not translate to more wins than losses. JW is a loser, point blank period.

  25. dceswild78 Says:

    Its a bucs life

  26. Miller5252 Says:

    Why isn’t more being brought up about Winston’s press conference yesterday. He’s ballin and the best, if he doesn’t throw pics. No other QB in the league has said they’re the best, even Tom Brady after his 6th ring. It’s one thing to be confident but putting that out there is just asking for it. Like the Browns coach and his shirt…. don’t give people the ammo. You’ve never been to the playoffs and you’re claiming you could be the best.

  27. Jean Lafitte Says:

    Why won’t he wear corrective eyewear (goggles). He maybe able to see the blurry players in front of him but wouldn’t 20/20 vision be optimally better and put to rest any speculations? I mean we do live in a modern society where technology is light years ahead of the Jurassic period. I believe he should be able to afford lasics at $21 mil. I had lasics performed 8 years ago and I still have 20/20 vision.

  28. Bucsfanman Says:

    Apparently there is no limit, whatsoever, to the excuses rolled out for this guy!!!
    I’m laughing on the inside! Really!
    Sorry! Not buying it.

  29. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    No wonder now that Desean Jackson looked blurry to him..

  30. Craig Says:

    What a strange thing to bring up. It’s not like we need more ammunition to be pissed at Jameis about.

    Jameis did enough, all by his lonesome, with his post game presser. He didn’t make a single promise to do anything to get better. There is much he could have done, through the years, that he hasn’t.

    He could spend a little time and money to make himself better and be ready for next season, but he just wants to put it in God’s hands.

    That means next season will be deja vu all over again, Sameis Jameis.

    Need eye hand coordination to complete long passes, just sayin’

  33. VA Tom Says:

    Would you bring that up to keep his value low? I’d be more curious if he has a depth perception problem. The overthrows of the last two years. Now the underthrows. Who knows. He looks good dropping dines between triple coverage. It’s the friggin one on one in the flat where they read his eyes.

  34. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

    What is up with the Bucs and QBs with vision issues? If I recall, Vinny T was color-blind.

  35. adam from ny Says:

    jameis with that bad azz podium posturing to fin out his bucs career…

    he really is like mr. magoo…

    magoo was a nearsighted mofo if i’m correct

  36. Iamabuc Says:

    Wait…a millionaire who depends on his eyesight for a living, hasn’t spend any money trying to fix this problem?…Give me a break!…and the thing is; everybody and their uncle knew about this from the beggining…smh..

  37. Bucsfan951 Says:

    Another excuse for NPUPPY to use. But he won’t blame Winston for that… he’ll blame winstons doctors for not addressing the issue.

    121 POINTS OFF OF WINSTON TURNOVERS ON 2019!!! 7.5 POINTS PER GAME!!!

  39. Buc4evr Says:

    LASIK surgery in the off season, or how about sports glasses. Would have been a simple fix 5 years ago, but way too late for Bucs fans. Just another freaking excuse.

  40. Iamabuc Says:

    …after five years earning millions; if it was me, I would have X-rays vision by now….again…smh

  41. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Contacts would seem to be the issue, but he gets hit a lot so they could get knocked out…that would cause other issues.

  42. H8JWLVEBUCS Says:

    Hello Buc fans please meet our new Defense attorney Bruce Arians.

  43. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    These are absolutely the most hilarious responses to any JBF article…..so, Jameis couldn’t use the nearsighted excuse and say to the Uber driver…..”but, I thought I was reaching for a taco”…..

    yes…..beef with a soft shell……

  44. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    Too bad Jameis didn’t get Lasik surgery in 2018 while he was sitting out during his suspension…

  45. adam from ny Says:

    roast beef tacitos are my fave !

    🙂

  46. The Coroner Says:

    Near sighted means he can read and see things close to him.
    His interceptions are not close to him. No matter what Arians says, Jameis is not “seeing the field”.

    Joe please tell Jameis while he is Zeus-like in his confidence there are
    Mercury-like DBs.

  47. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    Jameis has admitted to wearing contacts to correct his vision and said he does not like wearing them during games…read that several years ago

  48. Little Bo Peep 🤡❗️ Says:

    Look Folks🤡❗️Now Bucco Bruce Arians now has a new excuse for Jameis Winston’s Falures ❓❓❓❓❓”The Tom Fool Is Now Nearsighted 😀👀❗️“ Reminds me of the time Good Old Little Bo Peep was talking with The Great Ira Kaufman in 1988 when Kaufman was covering the Buccaneers for The Tampa Tribune. Back in 1988, Vinny Testiversite was “The Savior 🤡❗️“ For The Bucs, And Ray Perkins was the Head Coach. But Vinnie T., threw for a team record 37 INTS that year. Midway during the season, Persons told the late Jim Selmon Of The Tribune, “Vinnie’s Colorblind !” In short, We brought a Used Car that later turned out to be A LEMON 😀❗️In the words of Slick Willie Clinton “FOOL ME, ONCE, SHAME ON YOU. SHAME ME TWICE, SHAME ON ME ❓❗️“

  49. Buccfan37 Says:

    Finally seeing that pickoff that lost the game. That pass had pickoff written all over it as soon as he released it. He will be back because Licht is in love with him, notice his huge glowing personna when Winston is the topic of discussion. Same with BA to a lesser extent as the mistakes just keep on coming. Clueless GM and HC tandem wearing thin.

  50. Robert Says:

    reaching for the soft shell beef taco.

    that $hit is hilarious!!!!

  51. Joe in Michigan Says:

    I’m not buying this, just as I didn’t buy into Testaverde being colorblind. They both just make some bad throws. Also, they didn’t know this until the end of another wasted season?
    I’d say there’s an 80% chance Winston is back with the Bucs in 2020. Which means we need to find a badass RB somewhere so we don’t have to throw the ball 40 to 50 times a game. A good run blocking RT would also help the cause.
    The Bucs fans who think we’ll draft Jordan Love with the 14th pick (one website has him rated the 9th best QB for the 2020 Draft)…He had 16 INT’s this year, in college. He has the same problem that Winston has, IMO.

  52. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    Dewey Selmon says”
    “Our original logo had a pirate with only one eye open and the only 2 QB’s in Buccaneer history to throw 30+ int in a season are colorblind and nearsighted. You can’t make this stuff up.”

    ~~~~~~~~~
    Ok Dewey, I may disagree with ya on JW sometimes, but man this is a HILARIOUS frikking point. LMAO!!!!! Nicely done.
  53. Robert Says:
    they’re slandering him to bring down his value…….
    Srlsy?
    so, they can sign him.
    LOL, these responses are epic!
    BTW neither of the two would have an effect on his play, not the epic stupidity of the amount of pick 6’s…….nothing short of his visor had the mirror tint on the wrong side anyway.
  54. BrianBucs Says:
    Winston seems to be able to see the other team’s DB’s just fine
  55. Tampa Bay Demon Says:
    Altered-Ego Says:
    “No wonder now that Desean Jackson looked blurry to him..”
    ~~~~~~

    LOL, funny line. But, meanwhile, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Brashaud Perriman & Scottie Miller all seem to be IN focus for him on the deep ball. There is that.

  56. Donuts Says:

    I think Winston should be trendy and go with the Eric Dickerson goggles. Lol.

  57. Barbosa Says:

    That picture looks like smelling the stench around one buc place for the last decade.

  58. Donuts Says:

    On a more serious note, are there glasses for not staring down the WR??

  59. NO FEAR... Says:

  60. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    BrianBucs Says:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    LMAO!!! Another good one.
    Even JW supporters (like myself) have to admit…
    When it’s funny, it’s funny.
    Nicely done, BrianBucs.
  61. Robert Says:
    D Jax was blurry cause he was like the road runner, small and fast as heck……it REALLY does explain why he could not hit D jax.
    his deep balls are hail mary’s for a reason that finally makes sense!
    I’m far sighted and can’t read w/o glasses for $hit……..but see like an eagle otherwise. he has the opposite.
    if he can’t read the scoreboard, the field past 20 yards is blurry. bet on it.
    still no excuse for pick 6’s not reading the field. his peripheral vision is also seriously in doubt.
    we might as pay Stevie Wonder 30 million!!!!
    did he go to USF?
  62. SC Bucs Fan Says:
    He’s colorblind. Can’t tell one team from another.
  63. Ndog Says:
    After reading/hearing the below, from Pro Football Talk, from Bruce Arians, I don’t know how Jameis can ever play for this coach again.
    He was asked if the team could win with another quarterback, and Arians replied: “With another quarterback? Oh yeah. If we can win with this one, we can definitely win with another one, too.’’
    I personally know that I would never want to play for him again and I’m pretty sure Jameis feels the same way. Time to move on and just hope we can find a QB that can carry all the burden this offense puts on that position.
  64. Morgus the Magnificent Says:
    So you’re saying his problem is solved by glasses, contacts, or RK?? BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Too bad he can’t afford any of those problem-solvers.
  65. Defense Rules Says:
    Just when I thought I’d heard it all, turns out I wasn’t even close.
    BA … “He (Jameis) can’t read the scoreboard but he can see the guys in front of him so he’s alright.”
    After 5 years & roughly $50 mil we NOW find out that Jameis is nearsighted & DOESN’T wear corrective lens? Uhh, maybe this is too obvious a question, BUT … If his vision isn’t good enough for him to read the scoreboard, how could he possibly pick up small movements of defenders at that range?
    This is baffling beyond belief. Only in Bucsville …
  66. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:
    Hey…what about Devin White !…guy had a great year once he got his wheels back and saw a thing or two OC’s were throwing at him…
  67. Ndog Says:
    813 seriously why do you care so much about what other people think. Dude are you that weak minded that you let others dictate what you do?
  68. buc53 Says:
    blah blah blah, the guy won a heisman and a championship without corrective lenses—to pretend this is a factor now is ridiculous.
  69. Buczilla Says:
    It’s gosh damn Vinny all over again with his color blindness. Maybe it’s because I have followed this team so closely over the years and others only casually, but it seems that far more ridiculous things happen to this team than others. That picture that you used for Jameis is perfect Joe.
  70. Tampabaybucfan Says:
    Lawsuit coming…….Arians breaking HIPPA laws…..
  71. SC Bucs Fan Says:
    buc53 you do know your eyes change over time. Or maybe you don’t.
  72. Hodad Says:
    The only thing missing is deafness. Then we’d have the trifecta, deaf, dumb, and blind!!
  73. Robert Says:
    JW needs a visor made by car mirror companies.
    “objects in mirror are closer than they appear”
    at least Ndog just admitted his jw douchebaggery when he said jw should never play for BA for saying we had the possibility of winning with someone else behind center.
    thats behind us.
  74. BeaverSqueezer Says:
    Come get your season tix here!! Lol! Meanwhile, as owners, coaches and players we lie to you and laugh all the way to the bank.
  75. Bruce Blahak Says:
    Every possible excuse in the book has been made for this fraud? WHY? He sucks, end of story…..GOODBYE
  76. Buc4evr Says:
    I have been laughing all afternoon at that picture of Jameis. Only the Bucs would sign a vision impaired QB and not make him get his vision corrected. Maybe Gump can put a clause in Jameis’s new multi year contract that requires Jameis to wear glasses when he plays. OMG can it get any worse….. of course it’s the Bucs.
  77. Bucsfan951 Says:
    NPUPPY do you have a comment about your quarterback Winston being the most penalized quarterback in the league? Or are you going to breeze by that since you were proven wrong about your statement on penalties
  78. Bob in Valrico Says:
    @ Donuts
    I like the Darth Vadar Shield.
    for that application.
  79. Tampa Bay Demon Says:
    Ndog (on Arians saying “If we can win with this QB, we can definitely win with another one, too.’’) Says:
    I personally know that I would never want to play for him again and I’m pretty sure Jameis feels the same way.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    To be honest , Ndog, I don’t think that Jameis would be offended by that comment. It is just speaking highly of the team as a TEAM. This is something that Jameis does consistently 100% of the time also. He believes in those guys, whether he were in the lineup or not, and would say the same.

    I truly don’t think it was intended as a slam on Jameis… but just an overall comment on the TEAM talent that is there.

  80. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    Hodad, that was moronic. Nobody has questioned his IQ or his Football IQ. He makes bad plays sometimes, but that was a “dumb” statement on your part.

  81. adam from ny Says:

    jamies can barely hear as well…

    he has balled out so hard this year, so the cannons have blown out his eardrums to some extent…

    he has lost hearing due to his hardcore balling out at ray jay this season…

  82. adam from ny Says:

    when a dude balls out, just know he’s a baller !

  83. Bucsfan951 Says:

    Oh no NPUPPY!!! You use BA’s words to explain the many ints and now this?! You must be crushed!!! Well, words right out of the mans mouth! Might be time to buy your Winston patriots jersey!!!

  84. orlbucfan Says:

    ????????Only in Tampa Bay!!!!!!!!!!

  85. Hodad Says:

    Yeah, Winstons a real football genus. Just look at his first pass in OT, brilliant!! He’s been a dumb ass with the ball since he’s been a Buc. Hopefully for not much longer.

  86. LordCornelius Says:

    Man I duno wtf to think anymore lol.

    I get Kobe’s criticisms of the offense to some degree but not really because ultimately:

    1. This scheme produced the 3rd most points in the NFL and set all Bucs scoring records.

    2. The vast majority of interceptions are not scheme related but just simply bad decisions and bad throws. We can go break them down if we need to.

    Dirk Koetter on the other hand consistently produced offenses that had bad red zone execution and the scoring efficiency never matched the yardage. That was my issue with his scheme.

    Not sure what is wrong with Jameis. He finished 2018 great and had the confidence of this staff going into the season. Yeah the defense and kicker cost us games early but why is he throwing 6 picks in 2 games where the defense is playing at an elite level after being in the same system all year?

    This season his turnovers cost us more wins than his heroics gave us wins ultimately. And we will never be a consistent contendor if our QB throws anywhere near 30 picks a season.

  87. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    Hodad, the ball was tipped. It isn’t hard to see. He has thrown that ball with velocity to Brate a hundred times. It got there slow, because it was tipped. — Yes it ended up being a bad throw, because it hit the DL’s hand. It had nothing to do with intelligence.

  88. adam from ny Says:

    sign jameis for 25 mil a year to an incentive laden contact…

    every int he throws, he has to give back 1 million to the bucs…

    it will be the wildest contract ever…

    imagine he throws 27 ints next year and in the end paid the bucs 2 million to play for them…

    lol

    The excuses are getting awfully lame around here ….

  94. Anthony Dickson Says:

    Aww, Jeez! I just got flashbacks of Vinny Testaverde colorblind stories. Let’s not think these are the reasons for the interception problems. Poor decisions and being on bad teams are the reason. Period!

    WTF?

    Holy crap!

    GIVE HIM $40mil a year and get him LASIK and watch him win MVP next season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  98. mark2001 Says:

    My eyes sound to be about the same as Jameis’s, nearsighted and such. And I could barely see the scoreboard without glasses. How someone could see a receiver well enough to do anything but hit a guy if he is completely open, or throw a jump ball, is beyond my understanding. Right shoulder/ left shoulder? You have to be kidding.

  99. Licht Headed Says:

    Please release Jaboo so he can be tge fourth former Bucs QB to win a SB. Tge ignoramuses on the JBF boards deserve no less.

  100. Anonymous Says:

    He is still nearsighted, and is incapable of reflective thinking. Not a good combination.

  101. mark2001 Says:

    Maybe this was another way of telling we, the fans, that Jameis doesn’t care enough regarding his sight down the field, to do anything about it. So how could we think he would really, game changeably so, change the way he is playing his game?

  102. Ricordo Says:

    I hear that Nike is coming out with a revolutionary pair of sneakers to commemorate the 30-30 season.

    One of the shoes in the pair is like any other but the other one would be put on backwards; toes where the heel, heel where the toes.

    Cool colors, though.

  103. Bucnjim Says:

    Give him a pair of glasses and ask him to read out loud the interception stats for every QB in the playoffs. Then ask him what the average is. Never mind give him the answer it’s an average of 7 interceptions. He’s been intercepted 4 times the amount of the average NFL playoff QB. Let that sink in and start your evaluation.

  104. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    Bucnjim… so with that math Jameis is offered a 1 Year deal for 1/4 of their average

  105. Miketb19 Says:

    Tell that to Darius Leanord during the colts game who caught him slipping twice in that game with a fake blitz fall back in to the middle of the field and picked him twice yea he definitely saw everyone in front of him on those 2 passes

  106. Miketb19 Says:

    By the way did anyone else here Arians say we could win with another QB that we don’t need him to win. Thats for all you Jameis A** kissers he’s no Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Pat Mahomes, Russell Wilson those guys are real franchise QBS and not one of them was the first overall pick so that whole story that we can’t find a better QB than Jameis at #14 is a load of crap. There are winners and losers and Jameis is a loser you know all of realist know that all you gotta do is look at his record the guy just doesn’t win football games at this level. So I don’t understand why everyone thinks we have to pay a loser that can’t win big games in a moment where it’s all on him. There’s not another team in this league who would pay 27 mil to guy who just threw more picks in a season than anyone else in the last 30 years. So why should we feel obligated to give that kind of money when the guy just doesn’t flat out win games. If anything he goes out there and makes an embarrassment of himself with throwing some of the easiest INTs a defense could ask for. Why should we have to pay this guy likes on the level of any of the people I listed above. When we have a top 15 pick to get a young face that Arians and Leftwich can groom from the beginning. There’s not a person here that can convince me that’s not a better way to go

  109. Mr. Reality Says:

    Yeah, he meant to grab his chalupa at the drive through winder in the Uber and ended up grabbing the Uber driver’s crotch. Sure, we can explain away every problem now with Winston’s disability.

  110. Mr. Reality Says:

    Arians said “Oh yeah, if we can win with one, we can definitely win with another QB. We’ve got this defense.”

    He said he’s going to spend the next several weeks going through all 16 games and see who was at fault for every INT. I think that’s pretty much already known…they mostly want to see who is available in free agency and the draft. You can win more games with a game manager who throws for 3500 yards and 10 picks than one who throws 5000 and turns it over 35 times. No, doubt folks want Glennon. But consider Rivers, Tannehill, Flacco, Dalton, Manning, Foles, Keenum. We don’t need exciting gut wrenching throws that can win a fortune or lose it all. Protect the football, bolster the protection and run game. With this D, that’s a recipe for avoiding what is usually double digit losses in a season as we’ve seen with Winston.

  111. I’m a Tandyman used to be Bucs Fan Says:

    Come on Man!! Don’t you think if there were a concern with Jay Miss Vision the Team Doctors would have stepped in and diagnosed it?? Resign him and he will continue his 5 year play and the Bucs will be 7 & 9 again!! Also the no ground game myth is silly!! Ro Jo is a Beast!! Licht and Jaymiss need to exit and let Ole Bucco Bruce go ahead and fix this franchise!! He is on the way of doing that but Livht keeps signing Clown Kickers and Jaymiss keeps connecting with the other Team!! There you go Buccaneer Diehards I just gave hou the Solution!! Take thd advice Glazers and fill Buccaneer Bucaroo Stadium next Season!!

  112. Mr. Reality Says:

    Free agent 2020 QBs: Tom Brady, Ryan Tannehill, Marcus Mariota, Philip Rivers, Eli Manning, Case Keenum, Dak Prescott, Drew Brees, Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles. Those who will still under contract but could be traded for (or released) are Ryan Fitzpatrick, Josh Rosen, Andy Dalton, Nck Foles, Joe Flacco, Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, Cam Newton, and Jimmy Garoppolo.

    No way do we see Prescott and Garropolo net get re-signed in their current places. And no, Brady or Brees likely won’t be within reach due to retiring or short term deals in place. But the point is with a Top 10 Defense and Top WRs as the Bucs have, can the Bucs find a QB in the list above (no I don’t like most of them) who won’t hand the other team 49 points (three points per game average) with short fields twice more on average in each game? That is, can they find someone who won’t turn it over three times per game? Absolutely. Can they find someone who would throw 5000 yards. Not likely, nor needed.

  113. Kord Says:

    If I got to be the Bucs qb and make 20 mil I be out there looking like bubbles from trailer park boys to be able to see, just sayin

  114. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

    Wow… a bunch of character bullies…

    let me see JW is a professional football player who earned the Heisman, world champ in college, has broke numerous records and made a few NEW ones, including 30 interceptions.

    He has ALWAYS given to the community and has faith in God whether you believe it or not!

    Oh, did I forget that he is also a millionaire…that is who he is, now who or what are you?
    All this crap some of you are spewing I bet is different from people who truly have skin in the game and know he may have 30 interceptions but HE WILL BE ON A WINNING TEAM…and prove to the HATERS…he is unique, and will sling that ball and some team will be in the play-offs with ELITE yes, ELITE talent!

  115. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

    Can it get worse of course it can…you can have a QB who is injured ALL THE TIME and not play with a hurt shoulder, knee, ankle or a broke thumb!

  116. Kord Says:

    Nole it could get worse, they could have a qb that threw for 5+k that will find himself as a backup qb on most if not all teams in the league next season, god willing. #keepfsuqbsoutofnfl

  117. Dom>Licht Says:

    Makes perfect sense. He was reaching for his drink not the Uber drivers crotch.

  118. Ndog Says:

    See what you I love is you guys count every point scored off a TO against Jameis. It is truly unreal how bias you people are against him. lts like everyone else can do whatever they want wrong and it will all be the QBs fault. We all saw the snaps that hit him in the side of his head, thus were early, we all saw the ball go off of OJs hands that were picked off, we all heard the coaching staff said none of the picks vs Tenn were in him yet you get posts like the one below regardless of any facts that you know are true. I mean why can’t you people just be honest and fair about what really happened? I mean damn he is perfect no, but you guys should know better after watching this team. He clearly has had little help outside of Evans and Godwin who both by the way admitted at different times this year even they had at least one pick on them. Plus where is this top 10 defense you’re talking about cause it is sure as heck not been proven to be here in Tampa? First drive of the game yesterday by the Falcons TD, last drive we needed a stop nope they went right down the field for the game tying FG. Yep that sounds like a top 10 defense all right.

    But the point is with a Top 10 Defense and Top WRs as the Bucs have, can the Bucs find a QB in the list above (no I don’t like most of them) who won’t hand the other team 49 points (three points per game average) with short fields twice more on average in each game?

  119. Kord Says:

    Ndog, chill bra, one could argue Matt gay lost this falcon game, which occured, but crab legs struck again in true FSU crab leg style and grace, wish Winston the best of luck, just not anywhere near the state of Florida, or playing the Bucs, because when our d plays against him, time to get some of those pick sixers back! Go Bucs! Winston free twenty twenty!

  120. Reedo Says:

    I think the Bucs need to say why they never made Jamies address this. Not that this should be an excuse but why?

  121. Defense Rules Says:

    @Lord C … “The vast majority of interceptions are not scheme related but just simply bad decisions and bad throws. We can go break them down if we need to.”

    LC, I can’t figure out a way to determine what’s scheme-related versus bad decisions & bad throws, but I’d be real interested if someone else could. All I can find is RESULTS. Jameis was charged with 30 INTs this year. Surely some of them were his fault, some were his receivers’ fault, and some were just great plays by defenders. But the same could be said for probably every QB who’s ever played the game. I have no idea how anyone would go back & reconstruct each & every play to determine who’s at fault to create a valid comparison of schemes & QBs.

    Kobe’s point I think is that what I call the ‘Bombs Away’ attack scheme (I guess initially designed by Don Coryell) has the QB passing ‘early & often’. Just looking at the numbers for the Bucs, Browns, Falcons who used that system this year, it seems like the one thing they have in common is turnovers (mostly INTs). It appears to be a ‘riskier’ offense than some of the newer schemes that favor short passing & running the ball in a more ‘balanced’ attack, and maybe that’s why more INTs. IDK, but I do think that it’d be interesting to see how Jameis would do in an attack scheme like that.

  122. geno711 Says:

    Since 2010, there have been only 9 instances in which a QB has ranked in the top 20% in both positively and negatively-graded throws in a given season.

    Jameis Winston has four of them (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019)

  123. BucEmUp Says:

    If Matt Gay doesnt miss on 9 points the Bucs win and nobody is sxreaming Winsotn with pitchforks.Its about wins and losses not picks and since the defense has turnwd the corner Jameis has won games. Get a stud running back Kareem Hunt and draft oline, dline and corner.Janeis will be fine. I’ll take him.with the picks just cobtinue to make the team around him better thats been the probelm all along.He also needs more freedom at the line of scrimmage leftwich is still too predicable, hes gotten much better but hes still predictable at times

  124. geno711 Says:

    Kareem Hunt is a restricted free agent. It is likely Cleveland places a tender on him and it would cost draft pick compensation. For instance if Cleveland put a tender on him of 4 to 5 million, the Bucs would have to give up a 1st rounder for him. A tender of 3 million would mean a 2nd round and a tender of 2 million would mean a 1st round pick.

  125. tgregs Says:

    Jame-Ass is stupid That’s the problem

  126. Bucco Edd Says:

    I guess all those games without multiple picks was just… blind luck?

    It’s about wins and losses? You don’t want to go there because Jameis’ record sucks.

    Jameis will not be fine. He has had 5 years to develop. FIVE YEARS! He’s not a project anymore. He has been given 5 years to improve his game, but he’s still the same QB he was at FSU. He has no pump fake, doesn’t go through his progressions, doesn’t look coverage off, locks onto his target, thinks he beat double triple coverage instead of hitting the wide open man, hasn’t improved his throwing motion at all. I am not cool with spotting the other team 7+ points anymore.

    If Jameis wants to stay here, he needs to sign a prove it deal and help the team keep the defense together.

  127. Ndog Says:

    It just hit me, the Super Bowl is here in Tampa next year. It would be such a Bucs move to let him walk then he comes here next February with his new team and wins the freaking Super Bowl. Oh my goodness that would be the worst thing ever, and we’ve had just a few bad things to deal with around here!

  128. newbuc Says:

    Jameis needs to leave this chitthole team and fans. He will do very well wherever he ends up. Tampa fans know that will happen as well.

  129. MadMax Says:

    He’ll never be in a SB Ndog, well maybe as a backup….sheesh!

  130. Ndog Says:

    Sure Madmax and im sure you didn’t see D. Williams, Steve Young, Trent Dilfer, Michael Bennett, Aquib Talib and Lagrette Blount win Superbowls either. I know I know we always put players in their best position to succeed…..

  131. Ndog Says:

    BTW in the playoffs this year, Adam Humphries, Kwon Alexander, Deshaun Jackson, Vernon Hargraves, Bradley McDougal, Patrick Omameh and Luke Stocker. And yes I know many of them are hurt or did not contribute much but regardless it’s amazing what happens to your career when you leave this team and it’s CLUELESS fan base.

  132. geno711 Says:

    So we always get some dope comparing Winston to Peyton Manning on this site. Manning played for 5 coaches and went to the playoffs with all 5. He was successful with Edgerrin James and he was successful when his leading rusher got under 500 yards in a season. When Peyton Manning was out in 2011, the Colts went from the 4th ranked offense in 2010 to the 30th ranked offense in 2011. When Jameis Winston missed the 1st few games in 2018, our offense was still a very prolific passing offense. When Peyton went to the Broncos in 2012, the Broncos went from the 23rd ranked offense to the 4th ranked offense.

    But most of all the difference between Peyton Manning and Jameis Winston is the recognition. Peyton Manning revolutionized how quarterbacks were supposed to play. His command at the line of scrimmage was 2nd to none. He rushed to the line, reviewed the defense and then called out the play based upon the defense. Do you watch Winston? He has elite arm talent but it is clear he does not have close to that understanding. He still looks off his receiver less than almost every other NFL quarterback in this league. 7 pick sixes this year. Please understand what you are saying when you compare them.

    Is there one guy on this list that Winston looks better than?

  133. Buc4evr Says:

    The answer is Teddy Bridgewater. He doesn’t have the stats like Jameis but wins games and can actually see the field.

  134. MadMax Says:

    Ndog, those last 3 i was pissed when we lost/cut them, especially Blount….wont be that way with JW. I was on his side until last weeks game, and of course this last one pushed me over the edge.

  137. lambchop Says:

    @Ndog,

    So leaving the Bucs and landing in the playoffs is the fault of fans, the Bucs, owners, or Santa Clause?

    You sound like such a schlep. Ok, yea they left a losing franchise and made it onto a better team. So what? Is that really hard to do? So, your logic is we keep losers so they won’t be a part of a winning team some where else cuz that makes us warm and cozy at night while we still lose? You yourself said they aren’t the reason their new team is doing good.

    Are you for real? What is your point, dude?

    Why didn’t you mention Ryan Fitzpatrick, Snoop McNichols, Mason Foster, etc? Probably a ton more if I cared enough.

    My how we cherry pick talking points.

    NDOG get it together you literally fighting with everyone on here about Winston bro. Again again again an again you defend Winston for his pick an don’t hold him accountable but yet you call out everyone else. I don’t have a prob with you calling out everyone that has sucked. You have to hold everyone to the same standard. You give Winston a pass. My question is why don’t you hold him to the same standard?
