Mike Evans And NFL History

Bucs stud wide receiver Mike Evans is the best receiver in Bucs history. There’s no doubt about that. And Joe thinks he’s also putting up Hall of Fame numbers.

Last week at Seattle, Evans became the first player in NFL history with 11 or more receptions and 180 or more receiving yards in consecutive games.

Evans also joined a short list that includes A.J. Green and Wes Welker (2011) as the only players with 8 or more catches, 150 or more receiving yards and a touchdown catch in 3 of their team’s first 8 games of a season.

Now in his sixth season, Evans has very similar numbers to Randy Moss in his first five seasons.

Moss had over 1,000 yards receiving in his each of his first six seasons. Evans is also on the doorstep of matching that this afternoon against the Cardinals. Currently, Evans has 842 yards receiving for 2019.

In the video below, Brian Baldinger of NFL Network discusses how good Evans is. Baldinger, a former NFL offensive lineman, thinks it is criminal how the Bucs have wasted so much of Evans’ talent with all the losing.

Baldinger also believes Evans’ body language suggests he’s getting fed up with losing. Evans said as much before the season.

Here’s to hoping the Bucs win games and satisfy Evans. He’s a good dude and an even better receiver. Joe thinks it is sad that the Bucs can’t find ways to win with a talent like Evans.

Like I said … Evans is eventually gonna want a trade … his talents are being wasted in Tampa … with all the losing … when he does request a trade buc fans will hate him … Evans is prob the only buc on this team I have the upmost respect for … he deserves better than Tampa and all the losing … get yours mike … if I were you I’d want to go to a winner also

Deez I agree with you. I think Jamies should leave as well. Jamies had 2 bad games. I wonder if what will happen if Jamies plays for a better team next year where he feels like he doesn’t have to overcome every thing on a team. You know like a 31 ranked defense and a bottom ranked running game . You know every time the offense put the team in position to win they can make a key stop to win.

He has reworked his contract and given everything for this garbage franchise. Would not be surprised to see him nor blame him want out.

Poor Mike Evans deserves better than this dumpster fire of a team

I’m tired … mike Evans is definitely a hall of fame caliber player … and we understand his frustration… he’s done everything but win and be in the playoffs… name me one great receiver who has not been to the playoffs??? I can’t think of one … it’s sad yeah

  8. Buccfan37 Says:

Evans catches most passes thrown his way while making it look easy. That’s a Bucs superstar.

  9. soggy Says:

Did not even target him in the fourth quarter on one of our lost games ..UH Go get the record mike…

This just goes to show you how WEAK Jameis Winston is. So many QBs could thrive having Evans/Godwin as their WRs. Fitz proved that last year.

  11. Oneilbucs Says:

Bucsbandit Fiz ain’t do nothing last year he had 1 good game and 1 good half against the eagles and 1 good half against the Steelers. We need defense I’m not worried about a quarterback right now and we need better offensive line. Then get a quarterback if Jamies plays bad . Give eather Jamies a chance or if Jamies plays bad then that will give a young quarterback a chance to develop where he won’t have to go threw what Jamies been threw. You know give him a 32 ranked defense and a bottom ranked running game that will stunt his growth we already have done that to a lot of young quarterbacks we need to start giving these young quarterbacks a chance to develop. And I’m not talking about no bridge quarterback!!! Go bucs…
