“GMFB” Gives Bucs A Chance

November 17th, 2019

Talkin’ Saints-Bucs

Don’t be shocked if the Bucs can pull off an upset today.

Yes, that’s the word from the gang at “Good Morning, Football,” co-hosted by Kay Adams, Kyle Brandt, Nate Burleson and closet Bucs fan Peter Schrager.

Sure the Bucs are 5 1/2-point underdogs at home against the Saints, but Schrager noted the Bucs are “feisty” and he wouldn’t be shocked if the Bucs pulled off the upset. Burleson said America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston. is tossing up 300-yards a game like clockwork.

But there is one obstacle both Burleson and Schrager believe the Bucs must overcome to win: an angry Saints team. Enjoy the full NFL Network video below.

Would agree that the Bucs had a decent chance of winning this game however with the extra motivation the Saints have after losing last week it’s going to be awfully tough.

  2. TexBuc Says:

Not a long shot at all since the 2015 season we have split with the Saints every year.

  3. Wesley Says:

No doubt we’ll find a way to beat ourselves.

  4. Tye Says:

Nor would I be shocked if ‘Tampa’s punchline’ goes out there and throws 4 picks (1 a pick 6; 2 end up as scores for the Saints; 1 they’ll get a stop) and 2 fumbles…

Saints own this one right from the open with a purpose to make a statement that last week was just a bad week… Run up the score on the Bucs just to prove a point…
    Saints 38
    Bucs 24

Most Bucs points coming in garbage time

  5. DB55 Says:

Which offensive line will show up?

The one that gets JayMiss ATM WinsNot sacked or hit on the second play of the game or the one that gives him time to throw? Will we see Josh Wells? Yippie!

Coach should defer to the second half and give the defense first dibs.

    Give Rojo 20 carries/touches

Imo the only way to throw for 77% comp percentage is to throw the ball to the backs at least 50% of attempts so take note JayMiss ATM WinsNot.

  6. PragueBucsFan Says:

Minus Ryan Smith and SMB lining up late and giving up the bombs, the D was pretty solid last week. Only one beating the Bucs are themselves minus one game. They have a shot

  7. Defense Rules Says:

Bucs aren’t making any playoffs this year, BUT … this 2nd half of the season is where we see what this team is made of. Bucs win 31-27.

Saints have 2 key players OUT (Lattimore & Peat) for this game, plus another key player (Demario Davis) still recovering from a hamstring injury (will probably play though). The uncharacteristic drive killers for the Saints in their last game loss? SACKS (6 for 46 yards) and PENALTIES (12 for 90 yards). Their rushing game was also ineffective (11 for 52 yards). One big reason I think is because Peat & Lattimore each missed over half the game.

Saints only scored 3 FGs all game because their drives were negatively impacted by sacks & penalties. TEN drives in the game … 3 FGs, 4 Punts, 3 Downs (all in 4th quarter). Falcons played a balanced game … 34 rushes (143 yards) and 35 passes (182 yards). Julio Jones though had a poor game (3 catches on 9 targets for 79 yards), and Matt Ryan only completed 57% of his passes (he was only 1 for 5 deep, and one of those was picked off). Still, the Falcons won using the running game & short passing on offense (they won the TOP 33:46 to 26:14), and solid defense (Brees still threw for 72%, but the Falcons defense got the sacks & run stops when it counted).

Bucs are capable of doing exactly the same thing today. They need an excellent balance between the run game & the short passing game, with only very selective deep strikes. Minimize turnovers, sacks & penalties for a change, control the clock, and play solid defense (shut down the run & pressure Drew Brees). The Saints are vulnerable, but not if Bucs beat themselves again.

Sounds like the scene in Dumb and Dumber” Lyod; What are the chances of a girl like me and I guy like you getting together! Hot Chick: about a million to one. Lyod: so your saying there’s a chance!!! Right!!!…… and he walks away smiling and happy.

  9. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

    So there is a chance!

  10. Mort Says:

If the Bucs can get out in front early, I think they have a chance. Stymie any of that energy that the saints will have coming off an embarrassing loss, and hold a lead by scoring points and holding them to FGs. That’s how they need to play to win this game.

I agree. Even if the Saints win the toss, Payton may start Brees and the offense. He’s arrogant (as we Bucs fan know), and remembers the earlier game against the Bucs. Bridgewater had a field day. So, either way, a possible win-win for our side. Go Bucs!!!!!! Split the Series!!!

  13. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Mort

    Two problems with that

    They have a ferocious D…

    We do not.

  14. Bucsfanman Says:

    There’s always a “chance”!
Play smart football and don’t beat ourselves and we have a chance. Our OFFENSE must keep their defense on the field. That’s OUR best defense, keep the ball away from the Saints offense.
I’m curious to see what the defense will look like in this game. Will they play inspired in light of the VHIII release? Thomas will get his, he’s an elite WR. But lets not let Thomas alone beat us. Coach Bowles, you’ve seen this movie before! Shut him down.

  15. MadMax Says:

Im feeling the Bucs win this one as long as the good JW shows up….if he doesnt, stick a fork in it! And thats fine, i wont be mad. I want to enjoy some good games today.
