Gameday Tampa Bay

November 24th, 2019

Game 11

Bucs  (3-7) at Dixie Chicks (3-7)

Kickoff: 1 p.m.

TV: WTVT-TV Channel 13, NFL Sunday Ticket Channel 711.

Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network WXTB-FM 97.9 in the Tampa-St. Petersburg region; 97.9 FM ESPN Radio in Tallahassee (Transmisiones de radio en español en WTMP-FM 96.1 y WMGG-AM 1470 en Tampa); SiriusXM Channel 111.

Weather: Per the good people of AccuWeather.com, it should be a good day for football. Now Joe doesn’t know if the roof of Artie’s Ark will be open or not. If it is, the Bucs and the Dixie Chicks will play under football weather with the temperatures in the low- to mid-50s under sunny skies. Might be a bit brisk for tailgaters as the pregame temperatures will be in the 40s in downtown Atlanta.

Odds: Per the Mirage in Las Vegas, Dixie Chicks  -3.5; O/U 51.

Outlook: Welcome to the Battle of the Basement, where the teams share Buccaneers Cove, last place in the NFC South. The loser actually wins because that is one step closer to getting a coveted draft pick. The Dixie Chicks have been revived ever since embattled coach Dan Quinn shook up his coaching staff. Of course, Joe is sure Artie Blank will ask at season’s end why Quinn waited so long. The only thing Joe is looking for in this game is that America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, cuts down on a pick or two. If the Bucs do the right thing, they will lose.

Had 345 pass yards and 4 touchdowns against an interception in his last meeting. Has 1,581 pass yards (316.2 per game) and 18 touchdowns against 4 interceptions in his past 5 games against Atlanta. He has 49,383 career pass yards and surpassed Hall of Famer Warren Moon (49,325) for 10th-most passing yards in NFL history. Ryan became the second player (along with Drew Brees) in NFL history with 60 or more games (60) of 300 or more passing yards in his first 12 seasons. Has 300 or more passing yards in 5 of his past 6 against the Bucs. Has 1,403 pass yards (350.8 per game) and 8 touchdowns against one interception for in his past 4 home games against the Bucs. … RB Kenjon Barner had a 78-yard punt return for a touchdown last week, the second-longest punt return touchdown in Dixie Chicks franchise history (the longest came from Hall of Famer Deion Sanders and his 79-yard punt return touchdown in October 1990). … WR Julio Jones had 91 receiving yards last week. 1. CPN Says:

Can’t wait for Julio Jones to run 300 yards on us, and Matt Ryan to look like the greatest QB ever in the world.

  2. Go Bucs 72 Says:

We have to score at least 30 to have any chance of winning. JJ & CR are going to kill us, we can not cover anybody.

  3. firethecannons Says:

I would rather have a lawn chair with attitude them Hargreaves. Glad he is gone.

  4. WeeManOfScots Says:

Jameis will give the Dirty Birds at least, at minimum 7 points..if he is at full Jay-Miss style? They might get 14 just from him as an early Christmas present!!

  5. rayjayFAN114 Says:

And I turned 21 in prison doing life without parole.

  6. h4r Says:

@firethecannons at least Hargreaves is playing ‘meaningful games’ now. He’s found his calling in life: missing tackles for the Texans

  7. ElBajito43 Says:

    LET’S GO FALCONS!!!!!!

Chase Young 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1st round selection
    Jalen Hurts later
JAMEIS WINSTON now: 2 INTERCEPTIONS TODAY….. I HOPE

  8. Kobe Faker Says:

    “2 words

    Luke Stocker”

    Kobe Faker

  9. Defense Rules Says:

So “If the Bucs do the right thing they will lose” Joe? Hogwash!!! Playing to lose only makes you a bigger loser than if you’d lost but at least played to win.

  10. I Bleed Pewter Says:

If you’re so bent on losing Joe then why aren’t you advocating for Griffin to play instead of Jameis? Already did. https://www.joebucsfan.com/2019/11/time-to-bench-or-sign-jameis-winston/ –Joe Doesn’t more losing look bad on an already weak resume? If Griffin plays then any more losses for Jameis are avoided.

  11. Pete I Says:

Well @ ElBajito43 if Winston has two more turnovers he will stand at the mighty 100 Turnovers! 76 Interceptions and 22 lost fumbles!! And even now he has no current peer in that category but an even 100 will be worth an article or two…

But be concerned as Jameis “meaningless stats” Winston is coming due for his good game, his cycle, while not totally set, is to follow up a terrible game with either a meh or good game.

Setting up NexT week to be his great game!

    then back to meh…

    then next to terrible…

    etc, etc, etc…

  12. Pete I Says:

How many penciled in this game as a win a few weeks ago?

Not so much so now I imagine!

  13. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

I have a feeling that the proverbial straw will be laid upon the camel’s back today… not a good feeling in my gut

  14. SteveK Says:

    Go Bucs!

  15. Jeagan1999 Says:

Heading to Mercedes Benz Stadium today to get my annual Bucs fix! Much as I love to see a Bucs win in person, I think a loss puts us in a better position for next year.

After watching Oklahoma play last night, I think Jalen Hurts would be a great weapon in the Bucs offense next season! Grab Hurts and JK Dobbins…..watch this team take off.

  16. Ndog Says:

So you guys liked that 96 yard pick 6 Hurts threw last night vs freaking unranked TCU where he threw for a whopping 145 yards! You guys make for a good laugh, my goodness you guys are CLUELESS.

This guy below mentioned might be the most CLUELESS of them all!!

    ElBajito43

Congrats you might soon be named the leader of the the CLUELESS!!!

I bet you think Herbert played well yesterday to don’t you? The Bucs were probably calling Jameis’s agent last night saying hey bud can we start to talk NOW after watching those Jokers play last night.

  17. Clw JB Says:

Just can’t get hyped for this game knowing our secondary is about to get lit up

I mean..we cant cover anyone, anywhere, anytime

Dirk might hang 50 on us today, you know he wants to in a BAD way

He was roasted for Mike Smith…Todd Bowles has done no better, perhaps worse…

My only hope is they have been licking their chops so hard all week watching our tape, they play flat expecting to roll us…slim chance of that

Jones/Ridley against our kids? who are we kidding?

  18. #1bucfan Says:

Chase young would look great in a Bucs uniform only one prob our unis are so dam ugly haha. I think chase can be that one piece that can change a defense like Simon rice or Aron Donald. Dude is a beast. Could y’all imagine young Barret jpp vea on the line with LVD an DW behind them. I think our secondary could use that kind of help

  19. Pete I Says:

Nobody is interested in being schooled on football by you NDOG!

You will just have to be a genius without pupils.

  20. DooshLaRue Says:

I heard Jalen’s pick six wasn’t his fault.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

And the wheels fly off the JayMiss short bus today.

  21. TampaTown Says:

Stop the hoping we lose bu!!$hit. It’s really getting old

  22. MadMax Says:

My goodness that cheerleader is smoking!!! Good one Joe!

Im expecting a loss, even if we tried our best. But we dont need to. We need to get into the top 3 or 4 for a chance at Chase! Man wouldnt that be sweet…Burrow goes 1, that OT or Herbert goes 2, then maybe we can land Chase at 3, even if we have to trade up a spot or 2. That guy is a game wrecker!!! And yeah, Hurts in the 3rd (if he lasts that long) and yeah, we’ll have to franchise JW but thats fine. Get that Clemson kid Trevor in the 2021 draft.

  23. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Reality check!!!

JJ is a future HOFer…he’s averaged 93 yards of receptions in his nine year career. (counting this season)

This year he’s averaging just under 90..”only” 88 per game.
Must be getting old eh? (snark font off now)

As frightening as anything is his lifetime 15+ average per catch.
Oh but again he’s getting old…this year it’s only 14.9

Who here with a fair mind expects our rookies and 2nd year guys to shut him down. The Saints held him to 3 catches and 79 yards…do we suspect Lattimore helped..not sure if he was healthy I did not see the game…but we have NOBODY who is Lattimore now…and I’m not sure we have a future Lattimore but I’ll give SMB…Dean..Davis a couple more years before passing judgement.

JJ IS GOING TO GET HIS TODAY…NOT BECAUSE THE BUCS SUCK…BUT BECAUSE HE’S JJ…THAT’S JUST WHAT HE DOES…TO ALL TEAMS.

  24. MadMax Says:

hmm, didnt know Luke Stocker was with Atlanta now…
