“That’s This League”

Focused on Carolina, not London.

Jameis Winston seemed to be a cool cucumber yesterday.

Perhaps he was in the middle of a super locked-in focus moment or perhaps it was the Melatonin the Bucs’ sports science folks advising the players to take to adjust to the time change/jet lag in London, but Jameis didn’t seem all that interested in all the hoopla of a team packing up and going across the Atlanta Ocean to play a home game.

(Just to be clear, the Bucs are doing this as a tradeoff to host the Super Bowl in February 2021. If a team is awarded by the NFL to host a Super Bowl, then it must play a home game overseas as a form of ransom.)

Jameis noted he was treating the trip the same as if the Bucs were flying to the left coast (London is five hours ahead of Tampa time; the left coast is three hours early). He called all the flight prep for London nothing more than a business trip to play a division rival.

“I’m not really focused on all that stuff,” Jameis said. “I’m focused on the Carolina Panthers and playing a good football game.”

Jameis also noted that he’s hoping some of the magic pixie dust the Rays have and how the community seems to be bonding over the Rays rubs off on the Bucs.

“It’s good for the community when teams are getting in the playoffs and being successful,” Jameis said. “We love it and we feed off of it.”

You should be more worried about the punk you have embarrassed yourself defending…. vh3bust The Receiver Chaser is the biggest liability on the roster or at least tied with dotson….

  9. Barbosa Says:

Rookie white versus McCafferey. Key to the game

  10. ITS ABOUT TIME !! Says:

you need to be worried about JW getting outplayed by yet another back up QB…..

JW is the most underachiever on the roster……

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  14. BamaRich Says:

Spec-Jones, I’ve been calling for us to look into Patrick Peterson all week.

  15. DalvinCookRules Says:

    Jameis is underachieving??

Says who? He is doing the best he can. He cant read NFL defenses as quickly and get the ball out as quickly and accurately as the elite QBs in the league can–but he practices and prepares as hard as the most elite players who have ever played the game, so that is clearly not underachieving!

As good as our WRs are, they are not necessarily the best at creating separation within small pockets (zones) such as the Edelmans and Humphreys of the world can do. JW would greatly benefit from having a WR like that around.

We have seen his limitations now, but he can still be a very good QB in this League. Just be thankful it is not Tim Tebow out there

  16. Cgmaster27 Says:

813, have to score 55 like the rams game to make up for your swiss cheese db Hargreaves. He cant even cover his own shadow hes so pathetic. But keep defending him gaytor boy.

  17. richbucsfan Says:

To be fair, there will be a sub at RG and RT. This will make his work incredibly harder. I hope he survives the game. All blitzes will come that way. I applaud the courage of Cappa and Dotson.

  18. Dapostman Says:

@813, Jameis Winston doesn’t play against other QB’s nor does he play against the worst pass defense in the NFL. That would be your Bucs led by VHIII. I would like to see Winston go against this pass defense. He’d probably go for 400+ and 3/4 TD’s easy. None of these guys can cover Evans or Godwin. Goodnight.

  19. Jean Lafitte Says:

Here’s an ideal …try less 3 and outs. Quit trying to complete 15-30 yard passes when we are 3rd and less than 3.

  20. Jean Lafitte Says:

Whatever happened to the “take what the defense gives you”?

  21. James Hayes Says:

London is actually only 4 hours ahead now (UTC -4) due to Daylight Saving Time.

  22. DB55 Says:

Which oline will fly across the pond? JW has the most qb hits and pressures in the league. Second is Geoff and you see how he’s playing.

JW is the most underachiever on the roster…

yet he owns every franchise record…. yep underachiever or pathetic franchise your choice…

  24. DB55 Says:

    Max

Be easy he’s just hurt cuz his boy is a scrub who’s only record is most yards allowed by a cb so he’s deflecting on JW. It’s kinda cute actually

  25. 813bucboi Says:

    dapostman

JW had his chance to go up against a defense that was lousy just like ours…..the giants…..

and they served him a big L…..

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  26. 813bucboi Says:

it aint hard to beat josh freeman….lol….

he owns a couple blake brotles records too…..

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  27. Dapostman Says:

    813,

JW guided his team into FG position to win. Do you expect him to make the easy kicks too? 380 yards + 3 TD’s + what should have been a game winning drive. Except your guy and his friends allowed a rookie QB making his first NFL start EVER to torch them. You might as well swallow Hargreaves sword before you fall on yours.

  28. DB55 Says:

    Yes postman. They do.

    #10for10with10TDs

  29. BucsBandit Says:

DB55 back at it again claiming people expect Jameis to go 10-for-10 or some absurd stat line. BZZZZZZ WRONG.

No one is asking for Jameis to be perfect, not even his biggest critics.

We’re just asking him to NOT SUCK like he seems to in every other game. 9/19 for 105 yards total passing (5.5 avg) when the game mattered most (until late in the 4th quarter) against the Saints!

Completely and utterly PATHETIC for a guy that was the #1 overall pick.
