@Lamarcus trade Evans, what the hell are you talking about. Godwin is great but he’s having success because Evans is on the other side. If you take Evans away Godwin would then be doubled, then who are you going to throw to Scotty Miller.
I gave him a B but he’s closer to a B-/C+. He can throw for a lot of yards when the stars align. But too many inaccurate sideline throws, instances where replay confirms he waits too long and open receivers become covered, and generally not making plays when top-ranked QBs do. He’s no worse than Mariota (7 points yesterday) but certainly has been passed by those who have come after him, like Goff and Mahomes.
The Bucs are really in a bind with him. He’ll want $25m+ and a multi-year commitment to re-sign. He’s not that good. But do you cut him lose and take a chance on a rookie or a re-tread when you’ve got Godwin, Evans, Howard, Brate in their primes?
I voted that I can’t. Five games isn’t enough for me and yesterday’s poor performance wasn’t all on him. I don’t recall him having a fumble in yesterday’s game so that’s a plus. I knew on his first couple of throws what kind of an afternoon it was going to be.
i thought he kicked cam jordan on another play in the game as well…..clearly JW was frustrated….it looked like cam thought it was funny too because he put his hand together like he was in a casket….lol…
You could tell from the first throw what kind of day he was going to have. Came out overhyped. Secondary is biggest issue but with a looming $100 million plus commitment to 3 I just don’t feel he is worth that sort of investment. Back ups and rookies are shining all over the league, save the money and invest elsewhere. Consistency is more important at the QB position than extreme high performances half the time we play.
Still a work in progress. It would benefit Jameis AND the offense to incorporate short-passing plays, especially under siege.

@lamarcus… actuall a consistanly good qb would solve a lot of problems. Jameis was horrible in the opener and a game manager in game 2. He was awesome vs the rams and no good yesterday. Had 2 picks that were wiped away and a 3rd passs that hit a saint in the face plus a fumble we thankfully recovered.

Miken i get it, i personally give the man a “b” because he has taken us on scoring drives game after game even when the o-line is getting their arses kicked. But i can’t argue a “c”. It s a sensible assessment. But to give the guy a grade of “f”???? Stupidity and pure hate.

Same. He played pretty week weeks 2 – 4, yesterday was sub par but his receivers got no separation and the o-line looked like it regressed. And hey, not Dotson and Cappa are both out so that should really help things.
You see it doesn’t matter how good Jamies plays this fan base will blame him for ever lost this team has . So I wouldn’t even answer this question. Our defense sucks and the only topic I here is about Jamies. Man we can’t stop anybody so how do yall espect any team to win regardless who the quarterback is. The 49ers is wining with a good running game and a good defense. Old school football still wins in this league. But yall are so national media and the 49ers and the Seahawks are beating people with defense and running game now Russell Wilson is good but when you can run the ball and play defense it makes it easier to win. Anything below 12th means your quarterback is making it harder for you to get to the playoffs rather than easier.
I’d hardly want a “franchise” quarterback where most teams have a better player starting at quarterback.
