F’ing Daniel Jones

September 23rd, 2019

Potty mouth.

So it seems all of the Big Apple, except for some Jets fans who scatter into the cracks when the lights are turned on, is abuzz about the Messiah, Daniel Jones.

Amid the hollering about Jones and the clinking of glasses and the thumping of Beastie Boys music celebrating The Arrival of the next great Giants quarterback, you can hear the cackles of Giants fans whose confidence was proven accurate. They believed their new Savior would win Sunday in Tampa, even if it was the first NFL start for young Mr. Jones.

Why?

“Same ol’ Bucs.”

And to think Jones found a way to motivate the Giants to wake up and throttle the Bucs’ defense in the second half like Tony Soprano did to hoodlums who don’t pay their gambling bills.

What was that motivation? Per Tom Rock of Newsday, Duke graduate Jones had the nerve to curse.

“He’s like the world’s most mysterious man,” [wide receiver Russell] Shepard said. “He’s laid back, he doesn’t say too much . . . I’ve heard him say some things, but I’ve never heard him cuss before. It was the ‘F’ word. And I loved it. I’m a big cusser and I was pretty impressed.”

Well, Joe heard quite a few Bucs fans last night use the f-word, and it did not have anything to do with Jones but had everything to do with the Bucs going full-blown turtle, not trying for a touchdown late, taking a delay of game penalty on purpose, taking a two-yard loss to set up a field goal because a kicker is not comfortable at point-blank range (!) and then said kicker missed the game-winning field goal attempt, his third miss of the day.

(Joe has no clue how Team Glazer can stomach this tripe year after year. Someone needs to pull a Bobby Knight over there at One Buc Palace and toss a chair… at least!)

Oh, Joe heard the f-words flying alright. And Joe must admit they are deserved.

Learnin Jones was able to get his teammates’ attention by dropping f-bombs, it taught Joe something.

Daniel Jones would never be able to play for Lovie Smith.

Shepard would know all about that.

  2. DB55 Says:

There are still people talking about how Jameis needed to go 8 for 8 with 8 TDs 800 yards and 84 points.

How Jameis has to play perfect for 60 mins for a chance to win.

Yet they fail to realize that Jones played yesterday bc the giants coaches thought to themselves who’s the weakest defense Jones could actually compete against? Boom the pink pirates it is…..

Make now mistake jones is in there bc Eli has taken so many hits throughout the years he’s not sure which way is up and the exact same thing is happening to Winston.

Now how many fkn hits did he taken yesterday. Does anybody have a hit count for the season? 40-55? Jfc

Joe, it is time to stop defending the Glazers and telling us what great fans they are. If this was Walmart, or Amazon, and the Glazers were the ones hiring the CEO, the shareholders would be erupting and demanding changes.

How does one hire this many coaches over the course of OVER a decade and get them ALL wrong?! This was an easy win, as demonstrated in the first half of the game. 2nd half turtle offense, turtle defense and turtle kicker. Sickening!

  4. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

DB55….agree this was not on Jameis

  5. isrBuc Says:

    Let’s see:

    No defense
    No weapons
    No running game

    => No excuses.

Year one, Game one. Played from behind, had to throw the football and won.
    It can be done apparently.

  6. rrsrq Says:

Joe, you might be right, how many voices are in Jameis head, at a time when you needed a Jameis to hype up the team after the Giants score first after halftime. He just seems to not be having fun and thinking too much sometimes

  7. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Jones played a BRILLIANT game and was unflappable !

  8. Bucnjim Says:

This was 100% coaching and hoping each one of the 20 or so coaches has an apology speech waiting for the fans.

On a side note isn’t there one tackle in this world better than the crap we have on both sides.

  9. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

DB, I apologize to you sir for saying you were being too negative the other day. You are spot on with all of your comments since yesterday’s debacle. The Bucs are the new Browns, the Saints of many years ago – remember how bad they were?! That is the Bucs, a total and complete embarrassment to the NFL world.

And yeah, for all the haters, its all Jameis fault, lol. What a joke. I will forever believe we had a real NFL franchise QB and the Bucs totally F-ed him up.

  10. LargoBuc Says:

I hate to give them credit but the kid looked good. He kept his vision downfield through the pass rush and not only found but hit the open guy. Pretty darn good for start number one.
    UGH!

  11. DB55 Says:

    Not having fun? Lol

Dude is getting beat to chit and criticized for breathing. Even when he has pro-bowl level games they still lose.

And the Yee-Haw fans are like but but but he didn’t score 8 TDs.

  19. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Horrible coaching and preparation for rookie Danny Dimes…the bucs gave this guy a nickname that will stick for his 3 super bowl wins…DANNY FN DIMES, the bucs under jason licht are horrible and the personnel is terrible….but fortunately under arians the bucs have the largest coaching and most diverse coaching staff and the HC rides a golf cart

  20. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

VH3 has been and will be a 3rd rate corner….of course licht could have drafted a stud left tackle like laremy tunsil then grabbed one of the saints or panthers DBs who are tearing it up but jason licht is garbage so he drafts 5-11 players and kickers

  21. Dom>Licht Says:

Hire 25 more coaches and draft 7 more DB in 2020…. problems solved Jason!

  22. Tbbucs3 Says:

I can’t believe I fell for the Bucs defense being good. I mean we played a broken Cam Newton and an average 49ers Offense. I knew it was too good to be true.

6 years Licht…6 Years And we lose to a Rebuilding dumpster fire New York Giants with a rookie QB. It’s not gonna get any better with Licht folks if this is the product he built 6 years later….even with a good coaching staff like we have now.

  23. Ndog Says:

DB55 bro give it up your wasting your time brother.

  24. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Can we stop blaming coaching??

    It’s stupid at this point

It’s clearly the LACK OF TALENT ON DEFENSE.

Bad bad bad secondary but what’s new.

  25. Bruce Blahak Says:

For those of you asking who or how to replace Winston…There are all kinds of QBs, including rookies, who can do a better job than this 5 year f*ckup!! Exhibit A is Daniel Jones, B is Minshew. GO GET A F*CKIN QB, LOSERS!!!!

  26. Bruce Blahak Says:

Arians has obviously seen enough. No confidence in the QB winning the game!

  27. ClodHopper Says:

Giants: The bucs is a good tine to put in a rookie QB. I mean look at their recent history.

    Buc Fans: We dEmAnD rEsPeCt

  28. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

DB55…..Teams with real franchise quarterbacks and real leadership don’t lose like that.

  29. ClodHopper Says:

The entire team got complacent in the second half. Blaming on person or one position is a fools errand. And trying to defend one person or one position is also a fools errand. There is no better example of team effort by the Bucs than yesterday. In both halves.

  30. ClodHopper Says:

They went into halftime dreaming about their press clippings for this morning and came out in the second half with the game already won in their minds.

Welcome to the Bucs, BA. This is the sht you signed up for.

  31. buc up Says:

‘Lefty’ is NOT ready for prime time. Running the ball seven plays straight? Where was Bruce? What was it with Gay’s yellow shoes? Great defensive adjustments in the second half. I gave up my season tickets after 41 years. Wise move on my part!

  32. SteelStudBuc Says:

You guys still online complaining? Same guys every day… do something…. wha wha wha big babies… I felt disgusted too but I got up and went for a drive, grabbed some Chinese food and watched fat ppl at walmart …. over just like that… on to the rams.

  33. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Every Buc had a hand in this disaster. Do not EVEN attempt to praise any one player. You look foolish if you do.

  34. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Yeah, the same ol’ posters with the same ol’ tired ass comments. They are really boring the hell out me. That anger over the loss lasted about 30 seconds for me. Its a long season, win 2 of the next 3, hopefully vs NO and Carolina and get into the bye at 3-3 (3-0 in the division) and go from there.

  36. lambchop Says:

I’m hoping the loss wakes up a lot of the coaches, cuz they deserve a lot of the blame. If your coaches can’t manage tight games, it trickles down to the players. You can’t expect your players to make plays when they’re in the wrong play. Everyone knew DJ was a mobile QB, why wasn’t there a spy on the last couple of drives?

The one inexcusable thing is playing MJ Stewart. He sucks.

  37. Steven007 Says:

Thanks Colonel and SteelBuc for being the adult in the room. I’ve been going to those games as a season ticket holder since the sombrero wasn’t a parking lot. Have invested as much as this team as anyone else has. But I’m a grown ass man. I hated life for about 5 minutes and then yes, on to the Rams. Get a life people. It’s just a game.

  38. Hodad Says:

As good as Jameis played in the first half look at his second half numbers. 9-15 NO touchdowns, and ONE interception. It’s a sixty minute game folks. Your franchise QB should be able to put a game away against one of the worst defenses in the league. He’s not a franchise QB, and I certainly wouldn’t pay him like one from what I’ve seen since he was anointed savior.

  39. D-Rome Says:

Yesterday’s loss is not on Jameis but I must say that Daniel Jones showed more poise in his first game than Jameis has for more of his career. Giants fans left that game knowing they have their QB of the future. After five years Bucs fans are still not sure about Jameis.

  40. bucs4ya Says:

Hoping this HUGE coaching staff can get things figured out quickly. On to the Rams I’ll be at that game and hope I see some improvements. Would be amazing to see a complete game from all phases.

  41. Rayjay1122 Says:

Now we get to go lose to the Rams. Yippee

  42. AwShbucs Says:

    Hodad…

The Oline also did a significantly worse job blocking for Jameis in the 2nd half. He was pressured on his only pick. After which it became clear that Leftwich tried to take the ball out of his hands.

Granted. We marched down the field in large part thanks to some strong running from Ronald Jones. I dont understand for the life of me why we dont have an entire package of plays for every game dedicated to getting OJ open in the red zone. Hes the biggest mismatch we have outside of Mike Evan’s and we never use him In the redzone…

Having said all of that. We didnt lose because of the offense. We lost because of the defense soiling itself in the 3rd Quarter giving up 15 points in 7 minutes. Effectively killing any and all momentum we had; As well as Matt Gay not being able to kick from 34 yards out for some reason. And our Head Coaches decision to purposely take a delay of game penalty. Instead of just kneeling once and calling a timeout…

If that kick was had the same exact trajectory but 5 yards closer it would have gone in… but it’s on the defense, namely Slowpoke MJ Stewart and the secondary for falling asleep in the 3rd quarter and even letting it get that close after we established an 18 point lead…

Tough one next week too. Go Bucs.

  43. Jmarkbuc Says:

I would say it’s unbelievable that we could make a rookie QB into an instant HOFer.

Or that we could blow an 18 pt lead.

But it happens all the time here in Bucville….

  44. Bruce Blahak Says:

NEW QB FOR BUCS!!! …and end the madness. WinSTUNNED is horrid. Instead of fumbling in the pocket, he just lays down now for a sack – progress? But, “he’s young and learning”…5 F’N YEARS of utter GARBAGE!

  45. MadMax Says:

I liked Jones, didnt think he would go that high in the draft but looks like he’s a baller and worth it….

DB55, give it a fkn rest dude….nobody is blaming this on JW! Your antics are getting old….

  46. Adrnagy Says:

Bucs made yahoo front page …. blasting Bruce Arians.

  47. Negative Nancy Says:

    Bruce Arians: over-rated
    Jason Licht: poser
    Glazers: nincompoops

  48. Steve Lee Jr Says:

Giants fans need to pump the brakes on Jones. Yes, he could be a good QB but let’s face it, he was playing the Bucs defense of old last night. Wait and see how he performs agains a big boy defense before naming him the savior.

  49. DooshLaRue Says:

Danny Dimes was Tampa Bay ready!

I guess it doesn’t take 5 years to be a good QB after all.

And no, yesterday’s loss is not on Winston, but he still needs to go.

He’s like that voodoo doll the Brady Bunch kids found in Hawaii!

  50. Tampabaybucfan Says:

There is no question that Jameis isn’t trusted…..7 straight running plays until we were stopped…..and not the first time we were stopped trying to run.
This has been our problem in the red zone.

I hate to tell you this…..but we really have no other choice but to stick with BA, Bowles & unfortunately Licht……and hope they can eventually turn this ship around.

  51. Rayjay1122 Says:

I booked and paid for a trip including game tickets to New Orleans. I am too ashamed to wear Bucs gear, so I had to order a Saints shirt. The Bucs will, have to earn my allegiance again. This organization or better said, disorganization is not worthy of fans.

  52. tmaxcon Says:

The only question i have is why did you fools expect anything less from this small market irrelevant minor league franchise….. glazers have proven for years that the product on the field is irrelevant as long as tv checks cash

  53. tmaxcon Says:

BA’s BS should be entertaining this day after game….

Hey Joe how about a positive spin on yesterday all the negativity i mean reality is getting me down.

  54. Pete I Says:

Would love to pin this loss on Winston, as I am sure the Bucs are spinning their wheels with him under center. That said it wasn’t Winston’s fault, but he is still 22-35.

Daniel Jones was outstanding in his debut. Teddy Bridgewater went to Seattle and won,

    Jason Licht is now 28-55

Bruce Arians and his golf cart are 1-2

  55. ou812 Says:

3 points in the second half !!! Yea it was all on the defense. Yet Danny Dimes lead his team to victory. the last time a Bucs QB did that was…. NEVER!

  56. Bobby M. Says:

This is the game that in weeks 14-16….you start to look back on and say what if. It will likely bite us in the rear…..An 0-2 team in our stadium starting a rookie QB with no Saquan Barkley, yet we couldn’t pull out a win despite winning the turnover battle, first downs, passing yds, rushing yds, sacks…..We won in every statistical category except the win column. That’s just sad.

The Bucs should start bringing in the kickers before this becomes Aguayo 2.0. How many games are we going to give away while Licht’s ego keeps rolling out damaged goods at K. The kid cant make an extra point consistently, that’s a major red flag. Our head coach thought it was a good move to take a penalty to move the ball further away for the kicker….Statistically the greater the distance the lower the odds, yet that’s our thought process/faith right now in our kicking game. God forbid he get a close kick….Such a train wreck of a team.

  57. Rayjay1122 Says:

The Bucs have been in decline since Rich McKay left. Dominick and Licht both have failed as Bucs GM. Poor hiring of GM is on the ownership. I believe that they want to win bit they don’t know how. I am afraid to say it but I believe the Glazers will never have a winning team.

I hope they sell the Bucs to a competent owner but they won’t because they are making money with the Bucs and as much as they may want to win, they value making money even more.

  58. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Jones looked like a franchise QB in one start

In over 50 starts Jameis has looked that good maybe 5 or 6 times…

Sucks to be a fan of this team

  59. ou812 Says:

3 points !!! in the second half Yea it was all on defense ? 9 for 15 with a pick DB55 that’s pro- bowl level ? Yet Danny Dimes willed his team to victory the last time a Buc QB did that was…. NEVER!

  60. TOM Says:

Looks like the Bucs will need to draft two or three DB’s in the first 2 or 3 rds of the 2020 draft & maybe a kicker in the 4th or 5th. Unless they go with a QB in the first. But I have a feeling they already made up there minds to sign JW to a long term contract. But of course the money may be a problem. But don’t worry Jensen, JPP Brate will probably be gone.

  61. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Remember prior to the draft when we were told Jameis is a leader, can will his team to wins, throw guys open and make every throw and can lead a team?

I’m still waiting for that Jameis to look like a QB from f’ing DUKE!!!!! A QB from a basketball school looks great on a bad team while our QB and multiple 1st and 2nd round level weapons manage 3 points in the second half

    Pathetic!!!

  62. Fire Goodell Says:

Won’t be surprised to see Jones fall back down to earth soon. Giants play the Pats in Foxboro in a few weeks and Belichick has little trouble figuring out rookie QBs.

  63. Tony from L.A. Says:

3 games into a brand new system on both sides of the ball and everyone is already throwing them away.

The one constant among the Buc misery and ineptitude is this… the fans and the media. This site and most Buc sites bombard the players every day with misery and curses and whining – that seeps into the culture – the media ia everywhere and it surrounds the players today no matter how hard they wish to tune it out. This is beyond silly. So the players don’t read and absorb the positive stuff here every day. If anything, the media barrage lately should have emboldened players (by your logic) into thinking they were just liberated from the worst coaching staff in the history of the free world. By your logic, how the heck did the New York Giants ever win Super Bowls with a media that’s constantly all over them? C’mon, man. This is just silly. –Joe

The culture of the city and media gets reflected by the culture of the tea,

    Stop the whining.
    Stop being pathetic.
    Stop trolling.

  64. Anonymous Says:

And just think, we had a chance to get Daniel Jones this year but we went with T-Rex!

  65. ApacheFootball Says:

    Joe,

I think I can solve the Bucs kicking problem. Please here me out and ask the question to Licht.

Find a kicker that is at least 95% inside of 35 yards and has at least a three year NFL track record. Missed extra points and give me field goals are crushing this franchise. Any kicker that can‘t consistently hit the easy ones will turn into a basket case quick as the weight of expectations overwhelm him.

I don’t care and no-one else should care about his percentage on kicks longer than 35 yards because of what I mentioned above. We can simply go for it on 4th or play the field position game outside of 35 yard kicks.

This kicker will probably exist on the open market because he does not have a strong leg. This is precisely how we will target and sign said kicker.

Again, missing kicks inside of 35 yards is crushing the team and fan base and has done so the last decade. We are usually competitive early in the season, get soul crushed because of choking kicker like Matt Gay and the team collapses by mid October.

No longer. We need to fix it.

  66. Bucs Fan Since ‘76 Says:

Hopefully, at some point the Glazers will realize that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is pure insanity. They need a true CEO to run the franchise, and a president to run the football side. The team lacks talent at key positions, and has for many years. See e.g. kicker. Yet the Bucs are in cap hell. How can you lose year after year and be in cap hell? Answer: Terrible management. Enough already.

  67. Todd Says:

Meanwhile, the non-teammate JPP is down in Miami laying down some digital tracks for all his Instagram followers. Drives me NUTS! He could be in the room with his teammates being a leader. Instead, the POS is just cashing his checks and playing with toys.

  68. Craig Says:

Just wait until next week. The Bucs just do not play well in Europe. Gardner Minshew is going to chew them up and spit them out, especially since Jameis can’t play more than half of a game in 60 minutes.

  69. widerightandleft Says:

They should rename ray jay stadium (The Cure) Every freakin team that’s down comes to Tampa and rights their season.
Lifelong Bucs fan,but even the Bucs of old won a division title inside of 12 years! Enough is enough .Jason Licht,I don’t know you ,but you suck as a GM.

  70. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Craig

When do we play the Jags?

  71. widerightandleft Says:

    Todd;
Looking for blame in all the wrong places. This loss is squarely on the GM and coaching staff.Look at the game JW ,Mike Evans ,OJ,Barrett.Vea and Suh had.No one can run up the middle. All the damage is done in the secondary.
Why is VH3 Always chasing a receiver behind by three yards? He never contests a ball.SMH Slow afoot and out of position WTF ! Done !

  72. DB55 Says:

380 3TDs 1Int is better than what Brady and Rodgers did yesterday so yes I’d say that’s pro bowl level .

As for the Saints their defense outplayed new England’s and NE is the best def in the league. No one has scored on them since last year.

You guys are just clueless. Every week spouting off nonsense.

  73. crazy Says:

They wanted the win more. Simple as that

  74. orlbucfan Says:

Licht ain’t the problem, and I’m sick of reading that baloney over and over. Problem is ownership and 5 head coaching changes in 12 years. Before that, Gruden fell on his azz coaching wise after the SB year.

  75. Mike Johnson Says:

Give both the Giants scouting/coaching staff and QB Jones himself credit. They marched into our stadium and left with a win. The kid was pure Ice yesterday. No panic at all. When a team travel to your house and opens up a can of a** whippin on you? That says they took your heart out..your territory. Both the 9ers and Giants own us. And Quess what? The LA Rams next week will show no mercy. Jameis will be hittin the ground hard a lot. You see, they actually do have a pass rush with a front 4 that do not need blitzes. Look out 1-3..here we come baby.
Do yourselves a favor come Sunday. Buy yourselves a fifth of whatever..sit back and enjoy..The BucLife like me.

  76. Touchdown, Tampa Bay Says:
