When Joe used to write about the disruption former Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy provided around quarterbacks, a lot of folks for reasons unknown got their briefs all bunched up.
Joe hopes that is changing when it comes to the NFL’s sack leader, Bucs outside linebacker Shaq Barrett. Joe cannot wipe the smile off of his face with the job Barrett has done. But apparently, it is not just sacks where Barrett has shined.
Per the NFL’s NextGen stats, no defender in the NFL is putting heat on quarterbacks like Barrett. If you add pressures with sacks, Barrett is off the charts through three games.

We will find out what Shaq Barrett shows up now that NFL knows Barrett. Teams will be game-planning against him to try to take him out.
The Bucs need Barrett terribly tomorrow to make sure Jared Goff’s uniform is filthy.

Joe I’m fairly certain that if Gerald had ever gotten close to having 8 sacks in 3 games and was leading the league in both sacks and pressures, even the most die hard haters Sans the biggest one would have given him props.

If they double team barrett that’ll give Nassib more opportunities for pressure n sacks. One of the things Nassib is poor at doing is not wrapping up. I’ve seen too many plays where he had the opportunity to have a sack or TFL but often players will bounce off him after he drives with his head n shoulder w/o wrapping up. Suh n Vea should make big plays thanks to Barrett.

The only thing McCoy ever had 8 of in 3 games was penalties.

McCoy was never a “stud”. There is no need to prop of players on other teams especially division rivals. Then you tongue and cheek place sarcastic monickers on our own i.e. “savior”. Can’t say stay classy because you never were.

Ronde’s film analysis shows one of Shaq’s sacks that was made possible by Nassib simply putting his hand on a TE’s chest and driving him directly back into the pocket.
Sometimes stars emerge because they couldn’t get on the field with other teams who were already loaded at that position….the Broncos for Shaq and the Browns for Nassib.
These are two guys who are fun to root for because I love seeing patient dudes finally get a chance to play and cash in…especially if they are cashing in for the Bucs.

All qbs in this division has won MVP except jameis and drew Brees however brees has played like he’s won 3 … jameis is not close to any of the quarterbacks …and that’s sad when it comes to cam newton … joe your still fishing for something to claim jameis is this great QB
