Blaine Gabbert Heads To Injured Reserve

September 24th, 2019

It appears backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert’s preseason shoulder injury is worse than feared. Today, the Bucs put him on injured reserve.

Breathe easy, Bucs fans. Gabbert can return in eight weeks if the Bucs choose to designate him to return.

If the Bucs actually need Gabbert, well, then, it’ll be another lost Tampa Bay season.

  1. Buc50 Says:

Let’s be honest though, if we need Gabbert, our season is already over and we are drafting a QB.

  2. Defense Rules Says:

Bucs website says that they brought up DL Patrick O’Connor to take his spot. I wonder whose spot Ryan Smith will take when he gets off of suspension. Our S/Ts need him.

  3. Lamarcus Says:

We need Gabbert. Fans are disappointed that JW threw a completed bomb to ME and JW miss the kick. We need QBs with good W/L records

  4. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Give RG4 a chance if needed we already know Gabbert stinks!

  5. Ndog Says:

Who are we kidding it’s Jameis’s fault.

  6. JimmyJack Says:

DR thanks. That’s the first thing I was wondering. With Ryan Smith it kinda makes sense that he would take that same spot. Maybe O’Conor back to practice squad? But let’s just see if we can stay healthy through this next game.

And he may get a chance to help us more then ST if our coverage struggles again.

  7. Lamarcus Says:

    Lol ndog

I think JW inaccurate passes hit Gabbert in the shoulder and ended his season. Or JW thought he would be benched and ordered a hit on Gabbert.

I can’t believe ppl watched with their own very eyes…. Eyewitnessed a MISSED FG and SOMEHOW there is some blame to any other player besides the kicker who missed it!!! Kicker gets 100 percent of blame. Yes defense did what they did but that’s why you have a kicker

Bucs fans I have news for you we are TRASH!! GARAGE!!! Our opinion DONT MATTER!! We must be the scrum of the Earth to believe anything less than what

  8. Lamarcus Says:

    …..you seen with your eyes.

  9. El Buco Realisto Says:

    @bucscotty

They will try and keep gabbert, because if they have a backup that can throw some touchdowns, they know the inaccurate game manager jay-miss will meltdown like last year and fold like a lawn chair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog your doing this on every page and all’s you are doing is giving haters a reason to lash back out on you and your forcing a argument that isn’t even there.

You do a crappy job representing Winston supporters making us all sound stupid and annoying.

With a post like that you look closer to a troll then a fan.

  11. JimmyJack Says:

There’s an old saying that you don’t argue with idiots because they bring you down to there level and beat you every time.

Ndog is the perfect example of this as he has decided to argue with the Winston trolls and now is slowing becoming a troll himself.

  12. El Buco Realisto Says:

Its funny to hear the j-miss supporters when a debuting rookie qb with no defense and no run game outshined and beat the inaccurate game manager qb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Ryan Smith will take OConor’s spot if someone else doesn’t get injured…..we need RS on ST & he is not too bad at CB….better than some that are now playing.

  14. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Ryan isn’t due back until next week. Patrick has probably only been activated for one game, unless someone we don’t know about is injured.

So far as Gabbert, clearly RG4 has impressed BA enough to keep him active for 8 more weeks.

  15. JimmyJack Says:

Actually anybody who saw that game seen Winston beat that rookie QB with a heroic gamewinning drive. He led us to victory and the kicker flushed it down the toilet.

  16. El Buco Realisto Says:

More like jay-miss leaning on the kicker for multiple fieldgoals while that rookie was scoring touchdowns!!!!!!!!!!!! The third down completion stats are pretty telling as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Ndog Says:

JimmyJack you don’t get it man, arguing is pointless they don’t care about facts, film, proof, history or anything because they WILL NEVER accept him period! So just give up laugh at them and know how clueless they are. Nothing you say is worth your time cause they just repeat the same garbage over and over no matter what so that is not debating or even arguing it is beating your head against the wall, so why do that? Plus it doesn’t matter, soon Jameis will be gone and we will start all over again at that position. It’s not like it really matters anyways cause we aren’t going to win with or without him cause everything here sucks around any QB. So at this point who fing cares anymore.

  18. JimmyJack Says:

Close your eyes and think bury your head I the sand. Your prerogative.

He will do it again so I aren’t even worried about it.

  19. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog I don’t know what you are talking about. You are the one who has chosen to go on a personal crusade against them. Not me.

I just try to be fair. Give credit when it’s due and criticize when necessary.

My point was that it’s unnessary to start an argument on every article about the QB. At that point your trolling.

  20. Adrnagy Says:

Give him 100m , best QB Bucs have ever had.

I’ll be at rams wearing #3. we pull the upset and we are 2-2.

  21. JimmyJack Says:

But since you did start it here we are and Winston still gotta proove he can be consistent cause he has not in his career.

He’s had two good games in a row now and he just gotta keep the ball rolling. His confidence should grow from this last game and I think he can do it.

Why you think he will be gone is just downright confusing. Bruce came here to coach this QB. That should pretty much tell you all you need to know about his future. If Winston ain’t here it’s because Bruce has given up on him and there will be some really bad games along the way.

As far as winning games that will happen this year. This is a much more solid team then last year. It’s been highly noticable on Gamedays.

  22. DB55 Says:

So one thing that no one is discussing is just how many hits Winston took on Sunday. Any one know how many hits he’s taken this season?

Furthermore, anyone know how many other QBs threw for 380 3TDs and a 112 qbr win or lose (this season)?

Finally, can anyone tell me how many teams have allowed 4 TDs at home by a QB in his first nfl start or how many have done it twice?

  23. Lamarcus Says:

    EL Realistico Jr

I could play right now and beat the Bucs. It’s nothing to brag about it. We can’t beat Keenum or Austin Davis or Cousins or Austin Davis or

  24. Adrnagy Says:

Who drop the interception … was it Edwards ? Listen , Daniel Jones fumble twice and if we get that InT and Giants win jones plays doesn’t matter. He will be victorious. In the other hand if gay kicks the fg. Everyone would we talking extension on Jameis and how he pulled the last drive.

  25. D1 Says:

    DB55,

    How many?

    I think all of them.

  26. SteelStudBuc Says:

    @Adrnagy

You may look at stats to measure qb greatness …. I measure wins n losses and Jameis is the worst qb in nfl right now… Brad johnson best bucs qb

  27. stpetebucsfan Says:

    DB55

There are more reasons for a QB taking a hit than poor OL play or poor RB pass blocking….Targets not getting open…and of course a QB who stays in the pocket FOREVER because he does not see open receivers.

JW should ALSO be held accountable. Are you a relative or something?

Instead of his old Nickname “Fameis” Jameis…how about “Unaccountable” Jameis?

  28. TOM Says:

JW needs to learn how to throw the ball away instead of taking sacks. If that’s possible. BA, you need to quit fibbing to the fans. For instance saying Gabbert will be alright just out a few days or maybe a game. OOPs IR.
