“I’m Trying To Think But Nothing Happens”

August 6th, 2019

Caught ya,’ BSPN!

Want to know why Joe regularly calls the four-letter outfit “BSPN?” Right here is a perfect example.

In no uncertain terms, BSPN allows outright lies about America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

In a discussion about Jameis today on something called “Get Up,” which is enough to jump back in bed and pull the covers over your head hoping what you just witnessed was a bad dream after eating too much Taco Bell the night before, one of the biggest lies Joe has ever heard about Jameis was allowed to be broadcast.

While discussing Jameis, former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho made an outrageous claim. The franchise quarterback of the Bucs, Acho implied, is lazy.

Acho, in discussing Jameis, cited former Arians-quarterback Carson Palmer as being a first-guy-in; last-guy-out” type of workaholic player.

“Jameis Winston does not have a reputation for being that guy,” Acho growled.

Holy Flurkingschmidt!

Joe hopes this clown somehow mistook Jameis for leaky, sleepy Josh Freeman.

If anything, Jameis has a reputation for being a guy that works his genitals off. You can suggest Jameis is a lot of things but being lazy is not one of them.

The reason why Joe accuses BSPN of outright lying about Jameis is that these pathetic arguing shows are scripted! Producers and on-air talent go over the arguing points before the show airs. And you mean to tell Joe that not one person in that Manhattan studio read the many Arians quotes about Jameis working too hard; about Arians ordering Jameis in July to shut it down after he found out Jameis and teammates went to Tallahassee to work out?

Joe has come to expect people to say all sorts of foul things about Jameis and, honestly, Jameis has brought a lot of that upon himself. But for an outfit to willingly rehearse lines that any halfwit football fan knows to be false is just outrageous and irresponsible.

Either Acho is a liar, too lazy to do research or is just too dumb to know better. Which is it? As Curly Howard once famously said, “I’m trying to think but nothing happens.

Where is the FCC when you need it for this slander?

The nonsense begins at the 8:00 mark.

Tuned out long ago. No need to watch.

  2. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Don’t watch any of the talking head shows… I might watch 8 hours a year of event programming … the novelty of 24 hour sports went away in the late 80’s for me

  3. Malcolm-Reynolds Says:

Absolutely! No need to bother those guys with FACTS! It’s SO MUCH easier to spew out strong outrageous opinions on those daily sports talk shows without burdening them with any actual Facts. ALL those shows seem to follow the same TIRED scripts. One Outrageous unsubstantiated statement after another ( Colin Cowherd I’m looking at You! ) to try to get ratings. I honestly don’t understand how halfway knowledgeable sports fans can tolerate those guys.

  4. Steve in Mad Beach Says:

I don’t know anyone who watches this crap!

I swear that these ridiculous shows are only highly rated because they’re ‘what’s on’ at practically every sports bar across the country during lunch.

  5. FredmanJR Says:

So funny. That guy had now clue what he was saying… Carson Palmer’s OC? Oh he meant Head Coach. And he forgot about coaching Peyton Manning… Moron alert. Thank god Greenberg has cemented himself at the network because letting him ramble like that will get you tossed. Holy crap!

  6. Stanglassman Says:

I think half of the Bucs fans that hate on Jameis get that from watching BSPN slander the guy for the last 7 years. The other half just think ‘those guys’ just aren’t smart enough to be a drop back pocket passer in the NFL. I’m looking at you pittsmear.

  7. El Buco Realisto Says:

Don’t know why someone would be “outraged” about bs pn lying but , was not “outraged” when the game managing qb lied on multiple occasions!!!!!!!!! Or when his camp leaked to discredit anyone that did not give full support to the fold like a lawn chair qb!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Instead of all the fixing, and waiting, and lying, and hoping, and all the excuses, would it not just be easier to just draft a new QB?????????

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Tye Says:

Jameis groupies – (like TO w\the cowboys crying) that’s my QB!

    Buc fans – just win!

people lie in media all the time… ‘America’s Quarterback, pro bowl player JW’ (sound familiar)
He is one of the least liked in America and like several QBs backed out for him to be in the pro bowl… lies in so many articles…

    So worst moniker ever!

  9. Eric y Says:

Stupid article … joe quit crying about everything… I think he knows more than you do…. jameis May be a workaholic but his play is negatively dangerous

  10. CalBucsFan Says:

So maybe Jenna Laine of ESPN should speak up publicly here and educate Acho.

  11. Buc_U Says:

El Butt-o I am sick of you and all the whiny negettes calling yourselves “Real Buc fans” when you are anything but. I have been a fan since 84 when I first moved to Tampa. You think the Bucs are bad now try living through that era. I have seen us at our worst and I have seen us at our best. I’m still a fan and always will be unless they ever move the team. There are a lot of fans like me, and just like me they can spot a BS fan when the see one. See some fans are optimistic like me, and some are down on the team because they have sub par. But in the end both sides want the same thing, and that is for our team to win. Then there are fans like you, who just hate. You want the team to fail just so you can be right about hating someone associated with the team. Whether is the coach, the GM, or the QB. Even if these people were to do good you would still spew your venom. So don’t ever compare yourself with us clown. Buc U

  12. Stanglassman Says:

Someone doesn’t know why he called America’s Qb. There’s been study’s that show the more ignorant a person is on a subject the more confident they become in their views.

the Dunning– Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people mistakenly assess their cognitive ability as greater than it is

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

In other circles this guy would be accused of making a racist remark with claim of Winston being lazy vs Palmer….

  14. Anthony Dickson Says:

Watching ESPN is like watching daytime soaps.

  15. Joe Says:

So maybe Jenna Laine of ESPN should speak up publicly here and educate Acho.

That won’t happen. Make no mistake, Joe has tremendous respect for Jenna Laine. One of the hardest-working people Joe has crossed paths with.

  16. Wesley Says:

    Wow, what a dumb @ass.

  17. Waterboy Says:

Lazy analyst, not doing his prep work.

  18. DB55 Says:

The narrative is being built Joe. Baker Mayfield good. Winston bad.

    Mayfield criminal alcoholic

    Winston hungry college kid

    But wtfdik

  19. DCBUCSFAN Says:

Absolutely on the money Joe! Those shows are scripted! Since when sports take became this pathetic just for the sake of being “ controversial “ which drives ratings?? Real sports experts can be relevant without adding lies and be truthful and/ or give fact based opinions!

  20. Clodhopper Says:

    My comment:

GIF of Meryl Streep standing up applauding.

  21. Eastsidebuc Says:

SMMFH!!!!! This is why I only faux with the Joe’s and Ira nem for Bucs news and NFL news. They get to lie on national tv about a team they rarely even watch during the regular season. Keep fighting the good fight Joes… and Ira and Todd and Bobby.

  22. Clodhopper Says:

When I go to someone’s house and they have on BSPN when NFL Network has the same thing on (Like the draft) I judge them and lose respect.

  23. miken Says:

We might not bethe best fans in the nfl, but we are the most sensitive. Go Bucs!!

  24. Rayjay1122 Says:

The Bucs will surprise the league. The disrespect and low expectations from national regurgitators errrr media will give the team a chip on their shoulders.

The team who is doomed is the Browns. So much hype and Superbowl expectations is going to cause them to flounder again.

When we were hyped up we choked. This season is going to be fun.

  25. LargoBuc Says:

I stoped watching bspn long ago sans live sporting events. The show “Get Up” in particular was about sports and more about implying those with different political views from their own are racist. No thanks.

  26. Bird Says:

    That’s absurd
Not to many people worked harder at their craft then Jameis

  27. Bird Says:

    And joe wrote that incorrectly
    He meant to say

“I want to work his genitals off”

    “I “ being joe himself.

  28. RODNEY ALLEN Says:

No matter what u think of JW that isnt something anyone says cuz he is known for being first in last out. Its been talked about since day 1 SMMFH. That guy must be smoking something

  29. ModHairKen Says:

Miken: “We might not be the best fans in the nfl, but we are the most sensitive. Go Bucs!!” Spot on, brother. Spot on.

Some Bucs fans are also self-loathing, judging everything against yesteryear, and praying for Jameis to throw picks so they can tell their buddies how much better of a GM they would have been than Licht.

Joe, next year get an intern from the psych department at USF. These people need help.

Maybe a safe space and a coloring book with Warren Sapp on the cover. Jameis is obviously a trigger, just like McCoy was for that one guy whose name I seem to have forgotten.

  30. Joseph Mamma Says:

Works his balls off and gets mediocre results. I’d prefer he was lazy, at least he could possibly develop better work habits and motivation under new coaching staff.

Joe knows lots of plumbers that work their balls off and our first one in and last one out at McGill Plumbing.

  31. FairMinded Says:

This is enraging I agree. That’s the LAST thing anyone would accuse JW of

  32. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

ESPN, the Joes and the majority of sports reporting/news is all about creating stories where there isn’t one and one jerk reactions with very little understanding of the game in the opinions. For example look at the Joes own whining about a pass rush and lack of drafting who they wanted without really understanding and researching a 3-4 defense.

Entertaining site but the lack of football IQ is glaring just like at ESPN

  33. TampaTown Says:

    No one watches ESPN anymore

  34. Pryda...sec147 Says:

Geez I’m so glad I don’t have cable and pay for this garbage for years now

  35. Buczilla Says:

Espn is worth watching for Monday night football, college football, and the draft. Everything else is hot garbage.

  36. D1 Says:

    @ Joe

” Either Acho is a liar, too lazy to do research or is just too dumb to know better. ” Wow!

Then there’s the fans siding with you…. Head scratch , Wow wow!

This is a good opportunity to reflect on the situation and allow those hair triggered emotions to subside. Then revisit the situation with reason and critical thinking. Hopefully, at that time , you’ll be able to understand the magnitude of your errors.

Till that time, I am reminded of a few specific instances in my past profession
When I was front and center to witness what was akin to a self inflicted mortal wound from the opposition’s lead counsel. Ive seen super intelligent, we’ll respected and seasoned professionals literally self destruct without ever realizing it.

The underlying basis that created these situations is exactly what I am seeing here. The biggest difference is in the level and complexity which were magnitudes away from the elementary school flaws I see here. I’m finding it all but impossible to reconcile two extreme poles without questioning the ….

There’s also a comment about IMG and a former coach from koetters staff that was made on a Ira Kaufman podcast that’s lingering in my thoughts .
I believed at the time you guys reached a new pinnacle. Congratulations,
    on resetting the bar.

    Have a great day. !!!
Friday evening cant come soon enough……Go Bucs….

  37. July Joe Says:

Great article and great question asked by the Joes:

“Either Acho is a liar, too lazy to do research or is just too dumb to know better. Which is it?”

That is the sort of question asked and answered time and again in the book:

JAMEIS WINSTON DERANGEMENT SYNDROME: How Media Bias Causes Us to Overlook the Start of a Hall of Fame NFL Career

However, that book also mentions one more possibility, which is even more scary … that the media literally pushes for their hosts and guests to spin obviously false narratives about Jameis and there is a lot of common sense evidence why such may be the case.
