Bucs Return To DirecTV

August 29th, 2019

Will have Bucs tonight.

The hassle is over. The Bucs are back on DirecTV.

This evening Nexstar Media Group, the owners of WFLA-TV Channel 8, the preseason home of the Buccaneers, reached an agreement with DirecTV so Nexstar properties can broadcast on the satellite TV giant. WFLA announced this tonight.

Therefore, the Bucs will be available on DirecTV on Channel 8 locally in the Tampa Bay market. So Bucs fans may watch tonight’s final preseason game on WFLA-TV Channel 8. Kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m.

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) (“Nexstar”) and AT&T (NYSE: T) have entered into a new multi-year retransmission consent agreement to provide Nexstar-owned network affiliated and local broadcast stations to customers of AT&T’s video platforms in 97 markets across the United States.

Nexstar local stations are now returning to any impacted DIRECTV, AT&T TV and U-verse platforms.

Prior to this evening, Bucs fans with DirecTV were jammed up watching the Pewter Pirates. This hassle affected not just DirecTV customers, but many bar-goers as DirecTV is popular in sports bars.

No longer will Bucs fans get stuck trying to watch the game on Buccaneers.com. The video feed streamed to the site was less than ideal.

Just stream the games online illegally to save the hassle of paying for cable. That’s what I do.

And it’s easy for some of you to say who needs cable. The people like me need it because I live in the country. And we don’t get internet. So I have to have direct tv.

Those live streams were an embarrassment to modern technology.

Joe was seriously considering cord cutting until he had to watch the Bucs’ streaming games. Quickly changed Joe’s mind. Will gladly stick with good ol’ DirecTV.

Yeah, I’m in west palm beach but grew up in Tampa. “streaming” doesn’t work for me. Of course I was born the same year as the yucs. What does that tell ya.

I pay for Direct TV and the Sunday Ticket. Absolutely love it.
