Bucs-Browns, Open Thread

August 23rd, 2019

Comment all game long with fellow Bucs fans and a few haters.

It’s fun. It’s annoying. It’s a tradition.

Play nice, please. And stick around after the game for Joe’s award-winning postgame coverage of this almost meaningless preseason game against the Browns.

“Carl Nassib has been pretty much invisible this off season.”

First, a series per game for starters, so…yeah.

Second, he had a sack in one of those two series.

    That’s not invisible.

  33. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

    OMG!! OL sucks

  34. Buc4life7878 Says:

Boy o boy this o line is hot garbage.

  35. Rod Munch Says:

    Cappa totally wiffs… Ooof.

  36. Destinjohnny Says:

There is our 5-11 talent living up to its billing

  37. Bucs14 Says:

    6-10 here we come!

  38. Tony1775 Says:

Hey Joe still think fans harp on O line too much.

  39. Figures Says:

How did Gump manage to put this trash offensive line on the field?
    Absolutely pathetic by the o-line

  40. Pit of Misery Says:

Whatever it takes to get Trent Williams if he is healthy!!

  41. Ndog Says:

OMG the blocking or completely lack thereof.

  42. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Good thing we used 2 of our first 4 picks on OL now we’ll see about the DL

  43. Figures Says:

Is it possible to build a worse o-line?

  44. Pittsshore Says:

    Throw it away dummy

  45. DB55 Says:

    Run Jameis Run

  46. cmurda Says:

Our O line is complete trash. Donovan sucks and Capps is straight awful. Let me make sure I’m following here. O line needed help, d line needed help and Licht did nothing. Licht has done nothing for this franchise. Drafts have been subpar, free agents are a joke and the geniuses known as the Glazers extend the guy. Temper expectations folks. Can’t win with a worthless O line

  47. DB55 Says:

    Laughable and unwatchable

  48. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

The O’ Line blows. Need to have short, quick West Coast stuff to get the ball out quickly.

  49. A Train Says:

I wonder if the Bucs ownership disclosed to Arians when they hired him that they absolutely and flatly refuse to draft, sign, or develop a good NFL offensive line in Tampa Bay, regardless of who is the GM or head coach.

  50. firethecannons Says:

O-line against Vernon not working real well no holes for running back and piss poor pass pro

  51. Rod Munch Says:

So that PI replay was ticky tack garbage, but it was PI. I just know the Bucs are going to lose a game on some BS garbage like that on the defense when it matter. That’s how the calls go.

The oline was terrible there, but they were fine in pass blocking last year, and this is the same group just with Cappa. They’ll be OK as pass blockers.

  52. Pittsshore Says:

Nice opening Drive JW. No pick 6.

  53. JimmyJack Says:

Awful series for OL. I would give them the half they wanted. It’s needed

  54. cmurda Says:

By the way, the Browns did not blitz. Capps and Smith are just that bad.

  55. DB55 Says:

Sir Jameis ass down. And fire Dotson right now

  56. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

@Pittsshore, no time to throw it away.

And one the first one it may have ended up in a pick if he tried. Sometimes its smarter to take the sack.

  57. Rod Munch Says:

A Train – Uh the o-line is made up of two 2nd rounders, a 3rd rounder, and a big FA signing that was the highest paid center at the time (even if the ginger wasn’t worth it). Plus Dotson was developed in house. Not sure how the Bucs aren’t drafting and developing guys or signing anyone.

  58. Buc_U Says:

How the hell is he going to throw it away with no time. Stop it!!!

  59. Pittsshore Says:

Mayfield seems to be able to get away from pressure….

  60. Rod Munch Says:

Not wrapping on the d-line, then the refs spot the ball 2 yards up field of where the catch was….

  61. cmurda Says:

2 guys including Suh and they blow the sack. Baker has nowhere to go and these guys miss the sack that’s right there. We are far from relevance

  62. Bucs14 Says:

    Gholston big there.

  63. A Train Says:

Did you watch that opening drive Munch? It tells you everything you need to understand about my statement. We obviously have NOT drafted , signed or developed any GOOD NFL offensive lineman. It is painfully obvious.

  64. Bucs14 Says:

    Browns got a kicker.

  65. Trench War Says:

Joe says oline all about nothing smh 2 runs for negative yards and 2 sacks in first series. Yeah we should win a lot of games that way. Maybe Joe should just keep his non football knowledge mouth shut.

  66. Rod Munch Says:

Nice play on 3rd down, good stop by the defense.

  67. Rod Munch Says:

The Browns non-Gay kicker nailed it balls deep as well, that would have been good from 65.

  68. Pete Mitchell Says:

WOW! If I was Jameis I might think about going full LeVeon if that’s how the O-line is going to play this year.

  69. Bucs14 Says:

OMG we are now the Browns of the South.

  70. JimmyJack Says:

I’ll take that defense!! Nice job on a short field. MJ will a nice open field tackle.

We are batting tons of balls last two games too. Gotta be something they are working on.

  71. Rod Munch Says:

A Train – Smith is a good LT, Marpet is and will be a pro-bowler. Cappa I have no faith in, and the angry Ginger isn’t worth the money. In any case the line did a decent enough of a job pass blocking last year, so I’m not worried that on their only 3rd drive of the preseason they don’t look sharp. That’s why they need to play the full half here.

  72. MadMax Says:

We better be signing some O linemen that get cut from other teams….sheesh!

  73. Rod Munch Says:

Why is Ronnie returning kicks? He just looks sort of slow and obviously it’s not his thing. Need to get him out of there, let Bobo handle the kickoff returns, he was pretty good at it last year.

  74. Kobe Faker Says:

“Opponents not going to give BA anytime to go downfield

better get that short game going

Dare Kobe say to bring in Ogunbowale”

    Kobe Faker

  75. cmurda Says:

Well the refs always suck. We should be used to it as Bucs fans. Remember Monday Night Football against Peyton and the Colts. Refs blew every call in that game including the most obvious where the kicker pooched the ball in the air and it never hit the ground and we didn’t touch it. That was definitely a PI that Arians challenged. Unsurprisingly, the play stands despite the arm bar from the corner. Laughable

  76. rrsrq Says:

    We got this

  77. JimmyJack Says:

Is Byron going to call quicker plays to nullify their passrush some? Could we actually see an adjustment?

  78. Rod Munch Says:

Pass blocking was not an issue last year, you cupcakes panicking over the 3rd series of the preseason need to chill out. Run blocking, well that’s a different story, so I have a solution – don’t run the ball. If you can move the ball, don’t lose time of possession, then who cares how you get the yards? Oh right, people stuck in 1968.

  79. BigStickLivesOn Says:

vanilla playbook boys.. just remember that please

  80. A Train Says:

Good points Munch and I might have gotten a little worked up early tonight, but you must admit, for some reason, the Bucs have NEVER had a good offensive line…ever….the best might have been average or manageable, but no matter how good the Bucs have been over the years, the offensive line has always been a concern. It has always perplexed me. By contrast, teams have had good offensive lines…Cowboys….Patriots….Colts…..Broncos….

  81. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Munch, I agree. Jones does not hit the hole at top speed as a kick returner.

  82. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – He called that WR screen on the first play, then the RB screen on that last play but the defense read it, that’s how you counter a pass rush. Also, again, it’s preseason, so who knows how much of the playbook we’re seeing, I’m guessing it’s a small part. I just hope he doesn’t get into the run it up the gut on every first down rut most guys fall into.

  83. Kobe Faker Says:

“Rojo klueless in the pass route

no idea how to setup to recieve the screen

Dare Kobe say to bring in Ogunbowale to show this stiff”

    Kobe Faker

  84. Rod Munch Says:

Alvin – In college Ron had the speed, but he looks like he’s trying to read the blocks downfield and not running full speed. He looks very unnatural on out there.

But that last run, he looked OK. I’d just let him run the ball and nothing else for now.

  85. Figures Says:

Whoo. Jones looks quick on that last run

  86. cmurda Says:

With all of that said, I’ve been saying RoJo has bounce back year and I like what I see from him.

  87. Figures Says:

    FFS.

    And ofcourse.

    The ghost of aquyao

  88. rrsrq Says:

    Ruh oh

  89. A Train Says:

The guy who just missed that field goal is Gay

  90. Buc believer Says:

    Oh no!!! Gay choked!!

  91. Buc4life7878 Says:

Looked like was limping before that kick

  92. Bucs14 Says:

    DOINK!!!! It’s a Bucs life!

  93. Pittsshore Says:

Typical JW. Chokes in the red zone.

  94. Tony1775 Says:

    Thought we had a kicker.

  95. Bird Says:

    So gay

  96. diggler Says:

    me likey this jamies

  97. JimmyJack Says:

Glad to see the OL bounce back.

  98. MadMax Says:

    dammitMatt!

  99. cmurda Says:

Nice. Another star for Jason Licht. Matt Gay with a 37 yard miss. Ummmm, awesome

  100. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Gaymiss! lol

  101. Rod Munch Says:

God damnit, I knew it, wide right – well hits the post. Now all the d-bags will come out of the woods saying he’s awful, the worst kicker in football, blah blah blah.

  102. mixxx31 Says:

As a former running back, I love RB’s with some shake in the hole. Run that $h!+ RJII

  103. EA Says:

Word around one buc palace is that they will carry 2 kickers going in the season, one long range the other short range.

  104. ariel davila Says:

I want to see Kevin white do something!

  105. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Too short…..

  106. I’m Gay and I can’t swallow because I choke Says:

That was to much for me to swallow!

  107. geno711 Says:

O line play was much better that 2nd series. Hoping it will stay stout against that Cleveland Defense.

  108. Pittsshore Says:

    Gay can’t kick it “straight”.

  109. Walkergodeep Says:

C’mon gay stop being gay and make the kick

  110. K2 Says:

    Missing a field goal…that sucks!

  111. Rod Munch Says:

Why am I on like a 2 min delay, very annoying you fruits can see what is happening before me.

  112. Unimpressed Says:

    Oh no, we suck again

  113. cmurda Says:

Before you blame Jameis, it would be nice to see what he was seeing downfield. The likelihood is nobody got open. More importantly, did this effing kid really miss a 37 yard chipshot

  114. Mark Alstott Says:

Right side of the line looks like hot garbage, but on a positive note…we still haven’t found a kicker.

  115. DB55 Says:

    Smh

Jameis working too hard out there.

  116. Bird Says:

    Best play of game

Jameis taking sack there and no forcing turnover
Love what I am seeing from Jameis
    The QB whisperer getting thru
I called it before and will call it again …

Jameis throws for 5,000 yards this year
Well that’s if oline doesn’t get him killed 1st

  117. DB55 Says:

    Baker inaccuracy

  118. Kobe Faker Says:

“Last year I think JW3 would have thrown that ball into traffic instead of taking the sack

    JW3 is learning”

    Kobe Faker

  119. Cgmaster27 Says:

You’re right pittshore the one chance he had to throw in the redzone, he shoulda just put it up for grabs , so you could bitch about the interception afterwards.

  120. ATrain Says:

    There is only ONE ATrain

    Please change your name

  121. DB55 Says:

Well that’s if oline doesn’t get him killed 1st

  122. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Wow. You guys need to watch your blood pressure, lol.

So Gay missed one. No big deal.

  123. Trench War Says:

besides NFL game pass is there any other way to watch or listen to the game

  124. BigZ Says:

Pittshore, you are clueless about football. Save yourself and find another team and thread.

  125. mixxx31 Says:

    Come D lay wood

  126. Bucs14 Says:

Ronde prolly sitting in the booth thinking “No worries. This sh$t show team will never be as good as we were. We are still the studs around here.”

  127. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

How the fluck does our Gay boy miss a 37 yarder! Jesus H. Flucking Christ it truly is a Bucs Life.
By the way, I loved the Rojo pick and I have not given up on him (other than as a kick returner). Either you have the balls or you don’t and he doesn’t.

  128. DB55 Says:

Okay so he can blitz the A gapneither. At least he was good in underwear football

  129. firethecannons Says:

me and Bird on same page like what Jameis did that drive sum real big boy throws an yet going down and not sitting the ball out

  130. geno711 Says:

    Nice read MJ Stewart

  131. firethecannons Says:

  132. DB55 Says:

    Baker inaccuracte. BUST

  133. DB55 Says:

Baker with the almost pick. ATM

  134. mixxx31 Says:

    That’s what I’m talking about!!

  135. Kevinator24 Says:

Pass defense showing up there…just trying to stay positive lol. Wish Gay had made that FG though smh…

  136. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, MJ with the best play of his career. Seriously, that’s his best play since being drafted.

  137. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Great defensive stand.

  138. JimmyJack Says:

MJ had a great open field tackle in the first drive too.

  139. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, three series for the offense? I’m shocked.

  140. DooshLaRue Says:

Way to give away the play by touching Scotty Miller in the huddle Jaboo.

  141. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Jameis should scramble here.

  142. Pittsshore Says:

    Nice sack idiot

  143. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Nice job OL and Jay Miss. 3 sacks in 1 quarter. 12 sacks a game would be epic!

  144. El Buco Realisto Says:

    Offense is getting exposed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  145. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Or not.

He would have got it if the guy did not hold onto his foot, lol.

  146. Pittsshore Says:

    Throw the ball away

  147. ed kerber Says:

play calling has been awful on offense for Bucs.

  148. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Is anyone else experiencing a bad video feed?

  149. Kevinator24 Says:

    Sigh….

  150. Pittsshore Says:

He’s holding onto the ball, while in the pocket, as if it were an Uber driver

  151. Rod Munch Says:

They’re not game planning here, not too worried about anything at this point.

Tampabaybucfan – Watching via the Spectrum app, and outside of an annoying 2-min or so delay, no issues.

  152. geno711 Says:

Not ideal offensive play but no major screw ups/ turnovers to get us in a major hole. That is much different than teams. Not loving the 2 -5 yard sacks but better than an interception or strip fumble.

  153. Wesley Says:

    O line is still garbage.

  154. BigStickLivesOn Says:

I watched roberto aguayo’s first kick miss.. then I finally tune into a preseason game after hearing all the hype.. miss… I think its my fault guys

  155. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    I’m on NFL network on Directv…..bad feed….

  156. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Rod Munch

Spectrum app here too. Loving it.

I agree, the game planning is not in yet, so I’m not going to fret.

  157. Kevinator24 Says:

Can’t even get a proper punt off smh lol

Is anyone else experiencing a bad video feed?

    what video feed

  159. Rod Munch Says:

God damn is Chris Meyers awful.

  160. LongSeason Says:

I’m not experiencing any video feed. Then video wasn’t bad. The Bucs are. So I closed it. We have no offensive line. I bet every quarterback that starts gets murdered by opposing defenses. Gonna be a dozen quarterback funerals in Tampa this year. But that’s okay. They are making up for it by not blocking for our running backs.

  161. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

That’s the second time our punter got hit. I wish they would show the replays on those.

  162. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Doesn’t look like we have a punter either

  163. Figures Says:

    Can’t blame Winston.

    O line absolutely pathetic.

    And the kicker? GAY

  164. BigStickLivesOn Says:

video stream is trash.. lol I have seen better performance out of ru pirated sites in the past..

  165. Rod Munch Says:

Defense is playing a lot of soft zone, like the ghost of Mike Smith is still calling plays.

  166. Buc68 Says:

Need to play these guys a half. Look rusty as hell. They haven’t really played at all up to this point.

  167. ed kerber Says:

And the Bucs need an OLB/DE too

  168. Bucs14 Says:

Bottom line. Our O line is bad. It may be a long season. They are gonna get Jameis killed.

  169. Rod Munch Says:

Buc68 – Not sure it’s rust as much as it’s a totally new offense and defense.

  170. Bucs14 Says:

Said it before. The Browns got a kicker.

  171. A Train Says:

The Browns kicker in NOT gay

  172. mixxx31 Says:

CDIII Big Stones bro. Big Stones

  173. geno711 Says:

Good hold by the defense. Just preseason but they have been looking better.

  174. JimmyJack Says:

    Defense has got my attention.

Davis has quietly played great in coverage down the sidelines this preseason. Great play on the ball there!!

  175. MadMax Says:

Stewart and Davis looking good tonight.

  176. DB55 Says:

Baker sure is inaccurate for a number 1 overall pick with all those weapons on offense.

  177. diggler Says:

ok im sold. might not be a good year this year but they are on the come up. go ahead and extend jamies now id be ok with tat.

  178. Kobe Faker Says:

    “NOSBOS

posted we will be scoring over 30pts per game”

    Kobe faker

  179. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

There have been some good plays. I figure its a vanilla offense and vanilla defense.

I agree the oline needs to play better, but they DID ask to play the entire half because they need to get more ingame time. So they know they need work and will get there.

So far as the pass rush, for it being the basic defense, they’ve crowded the QB a bunch of times, and he;s only got it off by the skin of his teeth. A good sign.

So far as Matt Gay…how many kicks has he missed in the Preseason? ‘Nuff said.

  180. JimmyJack Says:

Twice our punt team has done poor blocking for the punter. It has directly led to all 6 points.

  181. MadMax Says:

    im watching livetotal….hd quality….its lovely

  182. Kevinator24 Says:

    Long developing routes…

  183. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Cappa is getting b=slapped.

  184. Figures Says:

Good lord. Cappa is not an NFL caliber player.

  185. Aristotle Says:

How about we draft OLine instead of a a LB at 5 overall. Fire this GM! Only good thing he’s done is draft Godwin!

  186. rrsrq Says:

Get JW out of the game

  187. Pittsshore Says:

Ha ha ha JW has no clue. Throw the ball away.

  188. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Is Dirk Koetter calling these plays?

  189. Wesley Says:

This o line is hot garbage.

  190. Bucs14 Says:

    Cut Cappa at halftime please!

  191. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

    Dunce Cappa…olè!

  192. Rod Munch Says:

    Was that Cappa again?

    Wow…

  193. Jason Derby Says:

    they gon get jameis killed

  194. Doctor_berto Says:

This line is so damn bad. Maybe licht and the coaches should stop being so damn stubborn and fix the line!!

  195. cmurda Says:

Nice work on the O Line Licht. Let’s throw him another 10 year extension. Why not? Cappa? LOL

  196. Pittsshore Says:

    Let him stay in. IR

  197. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Dear Lord.

Poor guy isn’t even getting time to throw it away.

  198. Buc4evr Says:

O line is a total disgrace. 5 sacks. Cappa what a chump

  199. Cgmaster27 Says:

Jesus this offense line is god awful. Wow

  200. Wesley Says:

Pittsshore- lol as if he had time.

  201. JimmyJack Says:

Cappa should have been playing more this preseason.

He does not look ready as soon as he gets more reps.

  202. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

LOL. That punter looks like “Here I go taking a hit again…”

  203. geno711 Says:

Alex Cappa was schooled there. Let’s hope that was just a learning experience. He has not looked bad before this preseason.

  204. MadMax Says:

Cappa sucks, got beat bad on that one!

  205. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Yup, the o-line is gonna miraculously get waaaaay better when the season starts. I’m no Jay Miss fan, but he truly has no chance tonight. Jesus Christo!
If this is the best they can do, 3-13 will be a great record.

  206. Ndog Says:

Cappa looks as bad as any olinemen we have had ever. I mean EVER! Unbelievable.

  207. Defense Rules Says:

I thought we could get by with 2 new OLinemen. Thinking now we need 5 new OLinemen. This OLine is stinking up RayJay tonight. 5 sacks already? Embarrassing.

  208. Pittsshore Says:

Arians is a great coach. LOL. Just picking up a check.

  209. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’m all for pulling Winston to protect him. Make the Oline play the entire game.

  210. bucs_1 Says:

good lord same sh*t different year at least D is kinda improved? i guess

  211. Ndog Says:

Pittsshore simply put you are an idiot.

  212. donuts Says:

Looking like a 5 win team still. they are a mess up front on both sides of the ball

  213. Timbucs2 Says:

Is this game just really a .gif of Jameis getting sacked over and over again?

  214. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Ndog

They all look bad right now. Not just Cappa. But they’ll get it together.

  215. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

Pittsshore are you 12? Every comment you have shows you know notyabout football. Get a life.

  216. TampaBay AllDay Says:

We are a oline and a punter away from being a contender. This online is unbearable to watch. Scrap the whole line besides smith and marpet

  217. bucs_1 Says:

5 wins is giving to much credit IMHO

  218. Rod Munch Says:

Hey Pittsfruit, do me and drink a bottle of Draino, you won’t be missed.

    God bless.

  219. Buc4evr Says:

Another long season thanks to forest Gump. Now BA gets a real wake up call with our o line

  220. Buc believer Says:

Pure genius drafting a linebacker at #5 instead of an o lineman. Pure genius. Licht is SO shrewd!

  221. firethecannons Says:

o line is the cause of this mess

  222. HeavyE Says:

Jameis get out of this town as fast as You can, save Yourself!!!

  223. Bucs14 Says:

Baker is a little off, but man is he gonna light it up this year. Not like our guy.

  224. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Put Gabbert in. Maybe he’ll get hurt and solve the backup QB issue.

  225. DooshLaRue Says:

Not a big Chris Meyer fan but what exactly is so bad?
    Dick Stockton is bad.

BTW, Ronde ain’t that great either.

  226. cmurda Says:

Winston hasn’t been great. A few of the times he has run out of a clean pocket into trouble but who can blame him? He’s under attack every play. Cappa is a joke and Jensen isn’t exactly cutting the mustard. D Smith is nothing more than serviceable. Marpet is the only guy worth a crap on this line. How in the world have we not drafted an O Lineman. Most other teams have first round O Line drafted.

  227. ATrain Says:

Why would you come on here and use someone else name?

ATrain has been on this site for a while

  228. rrsrq Says:

    Nassib never finishes sacks

  229. Figures Says:

Nassib forgot he has arms. Wrap him up moron.

    My god. Bad in trenches

  230. A Train Says:

LOL TampaBay AllDay…like I have said…we are an offensive line, an elite RB, a good defensive lineman, an outside LB, a few safeties, a kicker, a punter, and a smart GM away from a dynasty.

  231. Rod Munch Says:

Jesus Christ, typical fake news call by the refs.

  232. El Buco Realisto Says:

LOL!!!!!!!?! Ole stale biscuit looks shell-shocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  233. JimmyJack Says:

Nassib has missed 2 sacks today and that’s who he is. Missed many last year. Decent player but clearly not good enough. The guy just can’t tackle.

  234. TampaBay AllDay Says:

Why aren’t we finishing sacks? That flag would of never happened

  235. Rayjay1122 Says:

OL is total trash! Total trash!

  236. Unimpressed Says:

Thank god we got rid of McCoy for THIS dumb guy

  237. donuts Says:

Brate for a good RG in a trade would be a keen idea.

  238. Figures Says:

    Is devin white even playing?

  239. Bucs14 Says:

Here comes the defensive implosion. Long year ahead boys. Hate to say it.

  240. Mike Johnson Says:

Call it..slice it..excrete it..anyway you want. Them Browns got somethin we wish we had. Whats that you say? A Great Pass Rush. They bringin it. You guys keep on honin in on our great secondary. Don’t worry..they gonna earn their money.
Where are our Defensive Ends? No JPP, no Vea, and no GMC. Paging javon Clowney..Hello Mr Clowney are you there?

  241. Rod Munch Says:

DooshLaRue – Meyers is f-ing awful, he has the personality of a baked potato. He’s just a bore, brings nothing to the table.

Ronde is much better when he’s not shackled to this dullard.

  242. cmurda Says:

Browns O Linemen literally just tackled one of our guys and no holding call. LOL. I’m immune to it by now.

  243. Buc believer Says:

Yes sir Brucie boy will be hotter than hades at practice after this performance. He will be riding his little golf cart up and down the practice field yelling his little beanie off his head.

  244. JimmyJack Says:

We just gave up a TD if Beckham is in the game.

And this whole drive was made possible by Nassib not being good enough.

  245. A Train Says:

    Buc believer…I actually LOLed

  246. Figures Says:

Oh I just heard devin whites name. Yayyy

  247. Unimpressed Says:

Ghost Suh, only shows up on penalties

  248. Bucs14 Says:

    @cmurda

Yep. Same old NFL officiating when it comes to us. They hate us I swear.

  249. Rod Munch Says:

Figures – White is playing, but they don’t have him blitzing or anything, he’s mostly just sort of playing the middle of the field and not much is going on there.

  250. Mike Johnson Says:

Absolutely no respect for the Bucs defensive line. 4th and 2..lets go for it and make it.

  251. Pittsshore Says:

Just like every year. Our D is getting worn out because JW cannot move the ball. Then they get blamed for crappy D

  252. Figures Says:

    Rod

True. Hope its not that way when the real games start.

  253. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Our Defensive backs are flying around nicely……..

  254. TampaBay AllDay Says:

I mean the D has been starting at the 50 all game. If they hold them to a fg that’s a win

  255. Natebucsfan Says:

Mayfield’s must be a big boy, our defense cant bring him down.

  256. Wesley Says:

Blaming JW is just stupid, the offensive problems is on our o-line.

  257. Dewey Selmon Says:

Anyone else want to see Griffin next instead of Gabbert?

  258. TampaBay AllDay Says:

Is it winston not moving the ball or the oline can’t block?

  259. gmoney Says:

Really wish GMAC was in the squad. Duh looks terrible

  260. Figures Says:

    @pittshore

    Are being serious?
I mean for real. You’re just making yourself look really stupid.

The o line is the fault of all of it.

Go eat your nuggets and crawl into your bed you dumb fu ck

  261. BigMacAttack Says:

I think our O line questions have been answered. Suck 😂😂😂

  262. rrsrq Says:

Please stop with the if Odell was playing, maybe JW wouldn’t have been sacked if Mike Evans was playing. Let’s just stop the want if “fill in the blank” was playing

  263. A Train Says:

I am not a JW fan, but, Jesus, he likely has to play this season with no running game and a terrible pass blocking offensive line. That is NO BUENO!

  264. Old School Athlete Says:

Our O-line collapses faster than a Pop tart in a rockslide. Joe, do you know any FedEx drivers that could play?

  265. Cgmaster27 Says:

Pittshore ,it takes a special kind of loser to comment on a teams thread when you clearly dont like said team. I mean you are definition of a loser. Go discover what a woman is, you’re life wont be as sad.

  266. TampaBay AllDay Says:

    Much improved secondary

  267. Ndog Says:

On the bright side the defense looks much much better. Pretty much everything is contested which is much different than last year.

  268. Rod Munch Says:

So for all the panic on the defense, the Browns should have a top offense, got the ball twice at midfield, and only got 9 pts to show for it. That’s a pretty good show for the worst defense in football last year.

  269. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Whitehead has had a few really nice plays this half. Get Evans back, get White, JPP, a defensive line…..and offensive line….some running backs….Mike Evans back…..Jay Miss playing turnover free……a Gay kicker that can kick…..a punter and we’re at least a .500 team!

  270. DooshLaRue Says:

Well, I’m happy with the way our DBs are playing.

  271. BigMacAttack Says:

Our O line is a joke. Poor Jameis is going to get killed if they don’t find some players. These clowns can’t block at all. The strange thing is that Everyone knew it except Jason Licht and Joe. What a joke.

  272. tickrdr Says:

The Niners game is a must win for the season.

    tickrdr

  273. Pittsshore Says:

We drafted the wrong kicker. Gay kicked in high altitude Utah, skews distance.

  274. JimmyJack Says:

MJ Stewart is our best player tonight. They are refusing to throw at Hargreaves too which is a great sign.

  275. Pittsshore Says:

    Dummy is back in. Yay.

  276. TiredBucFan Says:

Wow. We are in trouble again this year. Maybe at the cut down we can find 53 good players!

  277. Defense Rules Says:

Bucs defense has looked extremely good tonight. Playing very aggressive. Holding the Browns offense to 3 FGs given the initial staring field positions is quite an accomplishment I think. Now if we could just get the offense to help out a little.

  278. mixxx31 Says:

Touchdown on this drive and we’re back in it

  279. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

Can’t fault the defense in this game. Our oline is the reason we are losing this game. We have given the Browns great field position all game due to our inadequate blocking.

  280. Pittsshore Says:

How about call an audible. Where r the screens.

  281. Doctor_berto Says:

Did the line somehow get worse?

  282. TampaBay AllDay Says:

I swear rojo can get tackled by a mosquito

  283. Bird Says:

Get Jameis out of the game
Asking for him to get hurt

  284. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’m liking Jones returning kicks. I know the results are not there yet, but he’s adjusting they way he returns it and he’s hungry. Only a matter of time.

  285. ATrain Says:

    Really Joe

  286. Doctor_berto Says:

Pittsshore you’re special special, aren’t you?

  287. Defense Rules Says:

And BigMacAttack, ‘poor Jameis’ is holding the ball too long … once again. Not sure if it’s the result of play design & play-calling, but 5 sacks in less than one-half is unacceptable.

  288. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Perriman is quick. Jay Miss can’t throw it in bounds and Perriman looks like he has no idea where to look for the ball.

  289. Asdf Says:

Jameis throws a good deep ball

  290. Pittsshore Says:

Perran wise open. Dummy can’t hit him.

  291. geno711 Says:

That deep ball accuracy issue is because of Desean Jackson right.

  292. A Train Says:

It really needs to be shotgun formation and 3 seconds ball out this year, I sure hope we can do run an offense like that this season, otherwise we might not win a game.

  293. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Defense Rules

It’s because Leftwich is calling plays that take time to develop.

  294. TampaBay AllDay Says:

    Deep ball…..*face palm*

  295. DooshLaRue Says:

    Winstunned on that last play.
I know his line sucks but damn dude….

  296. BigMacAttack Says:

Special teams can’t block either. No one on this team can block. Kicker misses, Jameis on the ground, can’t wrap up a QB for a sack, 4-12 here we come 😂😂😂. The curse of Chucky is still in effect.

  297. rrsrq Says:

JW gotta hit BP on that

  298. Anglican Says:

Annnnnnd JW still cant hit the deep throw

  299. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Not to mention the Browns are covering everyone so well.

  300. El Buco Realisto Says:

Here comes all the Jw3 can’t play being down two scores!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol!!!!!!!!!

Worst deep ball in the league!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  301. donuts Says:

Winston and this OL getting F grade. Arians tirade coming at half time.

  302. Bird Says:

That reminded me of the scene from movie “the replacements “ when Shane falcon throws deep to the receiver at his first practice who then runs into the back of his own player that is stretching out

  303. Asdf Says:

WR was wide open. Any ball in bounds is catchable. Ugh

  304. Rod Munch Says:

Hitting Perriman wide open for 4 yards on a 3rd and 10 – yeah, that’s what Mike Glennon would do.

  305. Trench War Says:

yeah we look primed for primetime ..what a mess

  306. Natebucsfan Says:

Jameis back to him old self again.

  307. cmurda Says:

Jameis, you cannot throw a deep ball and it’s humiliating. Dude is 5 steps beyond and this moron can’t even keep it in bounds. I’ve seen all I need to from Jameis. I’ve been defending this dude for 5 years now and he’s never going to be better than he is now. He has zero mental ability and he is incapable of throwing a deep ball. The season hasn’t even started yet and I have zero confidence in Jameis. The only smart thing the Glazer boys have ever done is not give Jameis the big extension. We will be drafting a QB next year. Seeing this O Line and Jameis both competing on who can suck the most makes me wonder if we will be in the Tua/ Trevor Lawrence running.

  308. ATrain Says:

    Thank you Joe

Obviously for some reason you have blocked me from your site and allowed another user to come in With ATrain

    Class Act Joe

I guess to many GMC slams

  309. Defense Rules Says:

Bonzai … On that last 3rd & 10, Jameis had a receiver crossing right in front of him and never even looked at him. That should’ve been his outlet. Don’t know if a completion there would’ve gotten a 1st down, but it at least had a chance.

  310. El Buco Realisto Says:

Mayfield has been off target or this game would be 21 to 0 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  311. Kobe Faker Says:

    “Like I said repeatedly,

I want to be only the Head Coach of the Cleveland Browns”

    Bruce Arians

  312. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

All of you who thought we might have a playoff team, please reassess. If this team goes 8-8, I will kiss tmax’s pimply old ass.
This team is a 4-12, 5-11 train wreck. It’s not just Jay Miss. This offensive line is incredibly offensive and I don’t see it getting better, even though I’m sure Coach Golf Cart will be scouring the waiver wire around with Bud Lite.

  313. Pittsshore Says:

San Fran’s D Line is much better than the Browns.

  314. Rod Munch Says:

Defense Rules – crossing wide open, who would have been tackled 6 yards short of the sticks. Absolute nonsense to think he’s catching that and getting a first down. Winston did what he should do, he kept his eyes downfield trying to get a first down, not trying to pad his completion percentage.

  315. Trench War Says:

Normally that is what happens, we get down by 3-4 scores and Jameis has to throw practically every down to catch up

  316. TampaBay AllDay Says:

I hope they can sneak a camera in the locker room at halftime. Because aint nobody riskin no biscuits out there

  317. Unimpressed Says:

Suh just got stonewalled 1 on 1

  318. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’m hoping we win this game, but it doesn’t matter. Just get out healthy.

    Play the oline all game.

  319. Pittsshore Says:

Fair catch??? Cut miller the puss.

  320. Rod Munch Says:

Suh being blocked one and one and doing nothing…

Hope he turns it on come the regular season.

  321. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Wow. Their punter looks like Joe Dirt, lol.

  322. Pittsshore Says:

    Nice pass JW

  323. mark2001 Says:

Very simple analysis…. The D has done its’ job…Bpwles has it together. And they haven’t even shown everything yet.

The Offensive line…stinks. Jameis…the old overthrow, miss seeing open receiver Jameis is unfortunately alive and well. If he plays like this during the season, he will be playing elsewhere next year. And some of these O linemen will never see the starting positions after this year…anywhere.

  324. Rod Munch Says:

    Bonzai – You mean Fabio.

  325. Pittsshore Says:

He is throwing scared. Off his back foot.

  326. Rod Munch Says:

They are not using the TE at all… that is very concerning for fantasy football.

  327. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Bonzai. Your life must just be “Caviar and Champagne Dreams” like Robin Leach. This team is showing absolutely nothing tonight!

  328. JimmyJack Says:

Actually Ronde was right. You don’t pass up a wide open receiver and try to do everything yourself. You let your teammates make plays too.

  329. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Rod Munch

    lol

  330. mixxx31 Says:

    Well it aint Miller time

  331. Pittsshore Says:

    Nice run by JW

  332. Rod Munch Says:

cmurda – Miller is a 6th round pick, it’s literally impossible for a 6th rounder to be a bust.

  333. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Rephrase: “Champagne wishes and caviar dreams@”
Or…..same old Bucs and same old Jay Miss

  334. Wesley Says:

He ran out of bounds, why did the clock not stop?

  335. Ringer Says:

Don’t know who sucks more…OL or JW. But he’s probably out of rhythm with how he’s had to run for his life every play. So I guess the OL but not by much.

  336. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Alvin Scissors Harper

I made a commitment to be positive this season. That means not whining about every bad play. Glass half full.

It;s a lot less stressful for this old heart 😉

  337. ed kerber Says:

Top 3 WR’s are good. The rest are not NFL material.

  338. Ndog Says:

I love how the Jameis haters were weirdly quite on his first deep throw to Perriman on the non PI call but jump up as soon as he misses one deep. You people are priceless stupid.

  339. rrsrq Says:

    the offensive line is offensive

  340. JL Says:

    Does it really matter Wesley?

  341. Pittsshore Says:

Like I always have said. Dumb people cannot think under pressure. He is proving it

  342. BUC CHEEKS Says:

    HA! Oh no

  343. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – It’s 3rd and 10, Perriman is crossing the middle of the field at the line of scrimmage depth, it’s not like he was 10 yards down field. You’re saying you pass up trying to get a 1st down to hope a guy can break 8 tackles to get a first down. I like Ronde, but he thinks the Bucs have that 2002 defense still and you play for 3 yards for field condition.

No, you try to get the first down, and Winston was doing that. If wanted to run a dink and dunk offense that gets 15 points a game, we could just trade a 7th for Glennon.

  344. Wesley Says:

JL- lol no, it’s just annoying cause I see it all the time.

  345. Aristotle Says:

Cut them all Arians! Keep Godwin, Evans, Marpet, Brate, David and start over.
Get rid of who ever drafts people.

  346. Dirkdiggler Says:

    TampaBay AllDay Says:
    August 23rd, 2019 at 8:52 pm
I hope they can sneak a camera in the locker room at halftime. Because aint nobody riskin no biscuits out there

    ^^^LMAO

  347. mark2001 Says:

So you are saying Pitt, that he panics, losing his mechanics and ability to scan the field? Hope this is an aberration…sounds like you are saying he is looking more like a Coach career killer, than a franchise QB? That being said, I hope Arians makes the O line play the entire game. And this is the best we have?

  348. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    3rd & 6…..WTF?

  349. DooshLaRue Says:

Leftwich doesn’t look too happy with his boy.

    Maybe they aren’t “relating”?

  350. JimmyJack Says:

Byron Leftwich has not been impressive to me.

That said Perriman had two great chances. He couldn’t make the play on the 1st one and Winston couldn’t on the 2nd one.

Just like the 2 Nassib missed sacks you gotta make the plays when they are there. If not you will get beat.

  351. BuccsFanOH-IO Says:

I know not all of the Browns weapons/playmakers are playing tonight, but our defense is out playing our offense tonight. That is rare to say here recently as a Bucc’s fan.

  352. Trench War Says:

how many time has JW thrown to Perriman

  353. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Another over throw, but he doesn’t have issues with the long according to the Clueless Joe…

  354. Bucsace Says:

    Cleveland South

  355. MadMax Says:

Im listening to the Browns announcers….theyre great, and i think bernie Kosar is drunk, he’s slurring pretty good….its funny….

  356. Pittsshore Says:

I’m saying he sucks. Why the deep ball. Leftwich ripper his ass when he came off the field.

  357. TampaBay AllDay Says:

The point is he should of made the throw. And non calls don’t mean s(p)it. Not everyone is winston haters just stating facts

  358. Trench War Says:

what happened to how Perriman will make us all forget about Djax?

  359. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

No, Ndog you are “pricelessly stupid” for coming to the defense of at best an average QB who was freaking drafted #1 in the entire draft!!!!
Do you really expect him to be this average in his 5th year?
Do you really expect he’ll take some great leap this year?
    Come on man! (British Accent)

  360. geno711 Says:

Bernie has been an out of control drinker for years.

  361. Defense Rules Says:

Love those words from Ronde … “He (Jameis) had OJ Howard in the flat”, coming right after yet another wasted deep ball. Heaven forbid Jameis should be patient and do what’s necessary to keep the drive alive. (Leftwich didn’t look happen when Jameis came off the field).

  362. mark2001 Says:

Rod…we don’t have the 2002 D. But this D has played admirably tonight. It could easily be 17 to 0.

  363. JimmyJack Says:

    Rod watch the play again.

  364. Wesley Says:

Licht is and has been our biggest problem, until he’s gone we suck.

  365. SteveK Says:

No deep ball acumen in year five. 😞

  366. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Jameis you aren’t good throwing deep so hit the open man underneath and keep the drive going

  367. MadMax Says:

Not playing, Beckhem jr, Chubb, another WR cant think of him, their TE….if Baker had those guys in, it would be 21-0

  368. DooshLaRue Says:

I miss the days when you could count on our defense to score sometimes.

  369. Dirkdiggler Says:

Perriman ran tooo hard and that’s why Winston couldn’t hit him. JW can’t catch a break lol

  370. Pittsshore Says:

    Typical NDog

  371. Ben real Says:

Joe your boy jameis he looks great!!!!

  372. Go Bucs 72 Says:

We can’t block they can’t catch.

  373. Unimpressed Says:

    Finally something positive from Suh

  374. MadMax Says:

    TE Ndjoku (sp?)

  375. TampaBay AllDay Says:

    Glad we extended licht…

  376. Mike Johnson Says:

And now you all see WHY..I have been wailing about a pass rush. its not so much our O line. Its that browns great pressure. Thats how its done. Where’s ours?
Receivers cannot get open because of that pressure the Browns are applying. No Jpp, No Vea, and No GMC. Anybody calling Javon Clowney? You’d better or finish less than 500. BUCLIFE BABY!!!!!!

  377. Dirkdiggler Says:

Miller trying to get cut LOL

  378. Trench War Says:

9-0 nothing is pretty good at this point for those slamming our defense. You should be worried more about the offense

  379. Rod Munch Says:

Not a big fan of the offensive play calling tonight – but again, it’s preseason, you don’t really gameplan for this, you don’t open your playbook up, and the offensive line hasn’t been good. However the offensive line did get better, they weren’t letting guys break through clean – but then again I don’t know if they’re playing backups or not.

Hard to take anything away from it.

Defense has shown something, they’ve been put in bad spots and mostly have held up.

I’m not worried at all about the offense, but the defense is a huge concern, so this is overall a positive.

  380. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Wow. This thread should be renamed Haters Anonymous .

  381. BucEmUp Says:

    Leftwhich sucks.

always something or someone to screw up a good thing.. WHY ISNT ARIANS CALLING PLAYS DAMMIT WHAT A FRIEKING WASTE!!!!!

  382. jugheadfla Says:

guys, this is his 5th year, what has changed from the 1st year, nothing…he sucks….definitely will be drafting a QB next year.

  383. Bird Says:

    Loving our secondary

Don’t forget Lavonte and Vea (2 best players on defense ) still not playing
    Defense looking solid

  384. mark2001 Says:

Trench…if you throw the ball out of bounds, or you throw it closer to the defender than the target, doesn’t make any difference if you have Jerry Rice and Bob Hayes on either side.

  385. Buccaneerscotty Says:

    5 or 6 wins max ……

  386. Pittsshore Says:

    QBR=11.5

  387. Zwak Says:

Nothing has changed, our offensive line still sucks! Lucky if we win six games this year..
    It’s a Bucs Life

  388. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    NFC Championship Game

  389. Defense Rules Says:

Illegal hands to the face. How could 34-year-old Dots possibly have known that’d be a penalty.

  390. JL Says:

    Yep,Franchise Qb!! Don’t think so…

  391. JimmyJack Says:

I’m just going to blame everything on the missed FG. Easier that way.

  392. gobuxfla Says:

    Just ugh.

  393. Pittsshore Says:

Godwin slipped because the ball was thrown behind him.

  394. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Gay can make a FG from there! lol

  395. Dirkdiggler Says:

Dare had 20 yards open field on that 3rd down play 🙁

  396. Aaron Says:

Preseason- no one is game planning

Everyone take a step back…if Winston sucks when the season starts you guys can start complaining about whatever new QB we bring in

  397. rhenry Says:

Our punter sucks. Maybe is leg is tired from kicking off so much tonight.

  398. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

If you don’t polish a turd on every play you’re a hater? Such low expectations explains the celebrating a 90 year old lady jumping on a trampoline who makes Betty White look young.

  399. Pittsshore Says:

JW would pad his stats if he were to play the second half.

  400. TampaBay AllDay Says:

Literally the only positive is the secondary. How can u draw positives? Kicker missed a kick. QB missed deep throws. Rojo got tackled by a mosquito. Cappa went ice skating. Dotson got spanked. It’s still time to fix some of this

  401. Defense Rules Says:

Jameis looks like he’s still keying in on 1 receiver (Godwin all the way on that last 3rd down attempt, even though he was extremely well covered). THIS is very disappointing offensively. Good news is that the defense is playing lights out against a very good offense.

  402. DooshLaRue Says:

    Yeah Whitehead!

  403. SteveK Says:

    Inaccurate again.

  404. rrsrq Says:

    Welcome to competent defensive backs

  405. Rod Munch Says:

Lots of angry cupcakes in here tonight, I’m guessing the police have raided the bath house they normally spend Fridays at.

  406. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Wow Joe. I guess I’m in moderation hell. Sort of like when my bus driver in elementary school put me on the bus step.

  407. Timbucs2 Says:

I think we are going to need a better punter. That is going to be the most critical position on this team.

  408. mark2001 Says:

I think Koetter and Lovie stunk. But Jameis doesn’t look like a 5th year starting QB…period. So ironic though.. the D looks solid…the O stinks.

  409. MadMax Says:

    Great INT Whitehead!

  410. Cgmaster27 Says:

Pittshore, baker Mayfield 9 qbr, and he has an offensive line, so what exactly is your point outside of your usual gibberish?

  411. TB12 Says:

Patriot die hard but now living in Weeki wachee FL for 4 years trying to convert to be a Buc’s fan.

Watching game tonight with Buctooth ( my neighbor).

Wow does #45 stink. I have seen him (White )in the middle of the field covering no one for 9 of 10 plays. What a mistake drafting him!

Go Patriots ooops I mean Buc’s. 1st half just ended, what I can say is the DN’s look great tonight, but thats it.

    TB12

  412. Bird Says:

    Defense rules

    “Defense playing lights out”
    You called it
    Arians just said same thing.

  413. Ben real Says:

We can call the offense in this game the 3 and out boyz

  414. geno711 Says:

One on one the offensive line getting beat!

  415. JimmyJack Says:

Embarrassing dress rehearsal for the offense.

No way to pretty it up. OL and QB were awful.

  416. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

ok Ndog and Munch. If Joe lets this get through moderation, defend your boy. Agreed, the offensive line has been offensive, but Jay Miss ain’t done doodly doo.

  417. Buc4evr Says:

Exposed as a bunch of underachieving, overpaid bums. Accountability my a**. I don’t think they can even get 3 wins this season.

  418. TB12 Says:

Patriot die hard but now living in Weeki wachee FL for 4 years trying to convert to be a Buc’s fan.

    TB12

  419. Rayjay1122 Says:

Offensive starters need to at the whole damn game. Thankfully our defense is looking solid for the most part. Still not much of a Devin White showing. He had a few tackles and a penalty. Lol

  420. SteveK Says:

No Lee excuses. I want my QB to hit receivers in stride. Specifically the deep ball! Non existent. Can’t win without it. especially when defense gives it to you. Can’t run the ball any better if they know your QB can’t throw deep.

  421. Dirkdiggler Says:

How many times did Winston turn the ball over under ENORMOUS pressure!? This is a huge positive and the defense looked good. They are on the up.

  422. mark2001 Says:

Yeah Rod…it is only the last preseason game our starting O will likely play in. The O looks ready for the regular season. Nothing to be concerned about… right? Super Bowl bound.

  423. SteveK Says:

No more excuses* sorry really didn’t mean to call out a name.

  424. TiredBucFan Says:

Our ones O line is getting beat by Browns 2 D line. Sad

  425. Trench War Says:

but yeah later tonight Joe will somehow twist it to look like our defense sucked

  426. JL Says:

    Rod Munch: Clueless….

  427. DB55 Says:

    Baker Mayfield – 10//26. 38% completion percentage. 72 yards. 0 TD. 1 Int

Let’s hear it MEGAFANS let’s hear it loud and clear

  428. Rod Munch Says:

This is why you play more than 2 series in the first 2 games.

  429. GenocideD Says:

Cappa almost single handedly got Jameis killed. Wow he sucked!

  430. Ndog Says:

So let’s get this straight our QB has been sacked 5 times in a half and we can’t run the ball at all and people blame the QB? This site really does bring out some kinda stupid. My goodness.

  431. University of Seffner Says:

Why are we building our Defense from the back end foward? I guess the saying “it all starts up front” is fake news in One Buc Place

  432. K2 Says:

Jameis needs to work on getting the ball out quickly and taking the easy short pass.

  433. Bucamania Says:

The secondary play is a major positive. Every pass was contested. INT at the end.

Offense has been terrible. And Gay smh.

  434. Trench War Says:

JW sure does hold that ball a long time

  435. Destinjohnny Says:

Life with the leagues worst gm

  436. Bosch Says:

Inept offense Online is a zero. Winston has nothing. Arians won’t complete the season. The common denominator, Light, has been given an extension. Just get Tampa out of the NFL and put us all out of our misery.

  437. Rojas Says:

Is it too late to trade for Trent Williams ? Sheesh. Dot and Cappa are terrible.

  438. TampaBay AllDay Says:

Ndog…are u serious? Everyone is getting the blame.

  439. Natebucsfan Says:

Some are saying chill its preseason, but if our online cant pick up blocks, how will they do it in regular season.

  440. Trench War Says:

Cappa is a tackle and he’s being exposed as a guard

  441. MadMax Says:

Alright, watch Garret Gilbert, the Brown backup qb….he’s pretty good and we are going to need another b/u after our O line gets JW3 on injured reserve.

  442. mark2001 Says:

No one on offense is without fault in this fiasco. Period. You could blame the O line…or you could blame Jameis for missing open receivers and taking too long to get rid of the ball. Anyone making excuses for anyone on Offense is an apologist for someone.

  443. Rayjay1122 Says:

The Achilles heel is going to,be the OL, lets face it. Not the defense. The OL. Period.

  444. jjbucfan Says:

Our O-line sucks! Where are all you Mayfield nut huggers? 10-26 0 TDS and 1 pick and he has time to throw. JW gonna did this year.

  445. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

Joe you should make it where we often visitors who actually want to talk real football can vote people from visiting this site if they just come here with random negative comments. In fact all social media needs to have something like this to prevent unhealthy conversations. Go Bucs! Defense played pretty damn good.

  446. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog you it doesn’t mean you blame the QB if you point out that he’s played bad.

Quite a few poor throws. That’s just being honest.

  447. Bosch Says:

But…. Chris Godwin is the real deal!

  448. rrsrq Says:

    Joe jinxed Matt Gay

  449. Rod Munch Says:

Mayfield was missing guys all over the place. Sometimes the Bucs had some OK pressure, but he wasn’t very impressive or special.

But again, it’s preseason, and he, like Jameis, is playing without his top WR. But he, unlike Jameis, wasn’t getting killed by his o-line not blocking for him.

  450. DB55 Says:

Baker Baker he’s our man if he can’t do it while getting arrested, running from cops, getting tackled by cops, making a ding ding gesture to a coach, some other unprofessional stuff, drinking excessively in public, completing sucking no one can especially jw

  451. ThonotosassaBuc Says:

Pinnion has zero hangtime and zero distance. Setting us up for failure. Shaking my mullet.

  452. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Joe jinxed Matt Gay

    yeah Joe and his negativity

  454. DBS Says:

And we changed oline coaches for this? I bet Evan Smith is laughing his a$$ off.

  455. Rojas Says:

Yes Jameis made some terrible throws.. but this offensive line is terrible. Not even Tom Brady would survive with this line. Especially with Alex Crappa.

  456. DB55 Says:

Dude you run for your life all game and be pin point accurate. You people are so f’n dumb sometimes

  457. Brandon Says:

The Joes can now STFU about Carl Nassib. He looks like a game wrecker. If he can just develop a tiny bit more nastiness, he could have a monster year. FYI, his hand has been on the ground a strong majority of the time but he still has been charged with disrupting routes on his side from backs out of the backfield. He has looked like our best front 7 player today.

  458. firethecannons Says:

happy with Jameis damn our oline really sux
Baker looks like shat kid is OFF!
Bucs defensive backs playing tight! did I say that ? dam right!

  459. JimmyJack Says:

I thought RoJo looked good running the ball tonight.

My one positive from the offense tonight.

  460. Rod Munch Says:

Im tired and 87 – Yeah, all media should have government approved filters that will only allow those with approved thoughts to speak…

    Ugh.

Pittsfruit and a lot of these douches are just trolls, but just mock them and move on, speak with those who have something useful to say. But saying we should only have approved speech, it’s very soviet union-ish. Just brush up on your insults and have some fun with the trolls.

  461. Rayjay1122 Says:

DB55 wins dumbest post award. Congrats. You stand out amongst the others.

  462. TiredBucFan Says:

Hard to not be negative if you are watching this disaster. Browns arent playing the top recievers or RB. Obj, Landry and Njoku are watching. Would be much worse if they were in the game.

  463. mark2001 Says:

Bucs…28 power ranking…and that was before this offensive display.

  464. Hodad Says:

Forget the O line, we need to draft more kickers! LOL. Cappa sucks, Dotson is old, and sucks, Jensen is average at best, and way over paid. Smith, sucks, Marpet is decent, other then that? Finally we see Scotty Miller, and he fair catches a punt with 15 yards of cushion, he’s a keeper. LOL. Jameis can’t hit a wide open Perriman on the deep ball. Wouldn’t surprise me if BA retires at the half.

  465. Ndog Says:

    JimmyJack Says:

Ndog you it doesn’t mean you blame the QB if you point out that he’s played bad.

Quite a few poor throws. That’s just being honest.

Being honest is saying if your getting crushed every freaking play what do you expect. Mayfield had a ton less pressure and did less. That’s being honest, but that doesn’t fit the narrative.

  466. DB55 Says:

Agree on Nassib. Also like to point out that he was on my draft board when he was getting drafted.

  467. Bird Says:

    Agree

People are blaming the oline more then anything And rightfully so
But 2 wide open receivers 5-7 yards past their defenders are an easy TD all day every day. QBs at the next level have to make that throw

  468. DB55 Says:

    Ray jay

    Which one?

  469. Rod Munch Says:

A terrible throw is a throw you shouldn’t have made that ends up in the other team’s hands. Winston hasn’t made any terrible throws tonight. He missed on Perriman on one play, that’s it. The other deep ball was just whatever. And the 3rd and 10 crossing route where people think Jameis should take a 4 yard gain, it’s just loser mentality garbage. You play to get 1st downs and to score points, not to boost your comp % on the stat line. Hitting guys for 4 yards on 3rd and 10 is a loser mentality.

  470. DB55 Says:

    Bird

Yea I’ll give you that. I’ll also say if he was paranoid in the pocket or even somewhat clean. Heck give him the same time baker has and he makes those passes. One of the bad deep balls was a scramble wasn’t it?

  471. mark2001 Says:

Ndog..have to say that Jameis HASN”T gotten crushed every play. But he has been crushed enough to make him panic. And that is all it takes. Then when he has four or more seconds, which he has a few times, he can’t find or hit anyone.

  472. Bucamania Says:

Scotty Miller just asked if he can call a fair catch before the punt.

  473. Trench War Says:

stop with the lecturing munch ..Winston and the offense sucked ..period

  474. DB55 Says:

Gotta fix that line. You can’t play QB when you’re on the ground half your plays.

  475. Trench War Says:

    not according to curly “Joe”

  476. Rod Munch Says:

    Trench War – No.

  477. DB55 Says:

Bucs avg 2 yards per carry in the first half. And wait til I rip apart #45. Hrs actually worse than Kwon.

  478. Ndog Says:

Yes that’s correct when you get hit for an entire quarter in about 2 seconds you get skiddish but that literally happens to every QB regardless of age, experience, talent etc… But I know he’s supposed to be perfect right?

  479. mark2001 Says:

DB…that is true.. but we also don’t know the plays called. Or how many quick hitting open guys he missed, because he was looking for something else. But Arians knows.

  480. Bird Says:

Again oline is bad ..real bad. Arians gonna have a few cocktails tonight and then a heart attack

Bucs have to make a move.
They have to give up a good player in a trade or give up a decent draft pick
And Not just expect final cuts guy

Dotson and kappa on that side will get Jameis killed
    Forget Clowney

    We need a guard /tackle

  481. TB22 Says:

–The Rays are outscoring the Bucs tonight.
They have the TD and extra point.
    Pathetic.

–2018 draft. Our GM blew it when he could have traded up 1 stinking spot to land Quenton Nelson. That move would have taken brains and balls. Our GM has neither. Our OL is abysmal. Nelson would have been a great addition.

  482. don Says:

    The ship looks awesome

  483. AMI_Chris Says:

This team sucks. Lucky to get 5 wins.

  484. Rod Munch Says:

    Tanner Hudson time…

Man, that kid just catches everything. They had better not try to sneak him onto the practice squad, someone is going to take him.

  485. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog…..Nobody is saying the OL did good but the QB missed some reads and throws too. The blocking was fine on some of these plays also.

I’m sorry you don’t see it and are denying it but it actually happened dude.

Can understand that the OL did him no favors but plays were available and weren’t made. Improve the OL and he surely does better but no denying he might plays and was a poor half from the QB.

  486. Rod Munch Says:

These whiny douchebags panicking over a preseason game, what losers.

  487. Trench War Says:

    back in Gay range

  488. Capt. Blighe Says:

    What we know…..
Jameis has not changed, cant hit a moving receiver.

Devin White has not done crap, very concerning.

Defense is exciting to watch, needs more pass rushers.

Arians is one and done and Jameis is gone 5-11 again.

  489. Rod Munch Says:

    I don’t think we’ve seen that OGgwewr123asd$@!# kid tonight.

  490. DB Says:

    We suck again. Go Vipers

  491. Mark Alstott Says:

    Gabbert down…

  492. Dirkdiggler Says:

Anyone see Josh Allen vs. The fins? Thehehe just saying

  493. Rod Munch Says:

These idiots panicking over a preseason game are just complete and total bores. Hopefully all you morons will drive to the top of the Skyway tonight and take a big leap. The world needs less dullards.

    God bless.

  494. Dom>Licht Says:

1st round pick looks lost! OL is pathetic 4-12 if we’re lucky.

  495. Trench War Says:

how bout that Gabbert moving the ball with the backups

  496. Rod Munch Says:

Gabbert with the old I was going to get cut but I’m playing for an “injury settlement” slide.

  497. mark2001 Says:

Ndog… some truth in that. But some are better at handling it than others. Bradshaw, Aikman, Elway, among others all got beaten up earlier in their careers, went through that, and handled it well. That being said, the O line stinks and we have to have better play or no QB or RB will stay healthy the entire year.

  498. Trench War Says:

munch you are the worst Nancy in here

  499. MadMax Says:

And down goes Gabbert, and he did it to himself….

time to go b/u QB HUNTING MR LICHT!!!!

  500. DBS Says:

Here is your chance Griffin! Take it!

  501. Mark Alstott Says:

Hoping Tanner Hudson makes the final roster. He’s been playing solid, and seems to catch everything thrown his way.

  502. Rod Munch Says:

    Trench War – GGGRRRRRRRR!!!!!

  503. DB55 Says:

That awkward moment when your #5 overall pick mlb has 2 tackles and 1 assist. Hmmm

  504. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Is Koetter calling the plays?

  505. Rod Munch Says:

Alstott – I don’t see how they don’t keep Tanner around, the kid is a copy of Brate – at least that’s what he appears to be at this point. They have to find him a spot.

  506. JimmyJack Says:

    Agreed Munch about preseason.

This game means nothing once we kickoff against the 49ers. I just really hope that game resembles nothing of this one on offense. It was really bad on many levels.

It’s not an encouraging dress rehearsal. That’s for sure

  507. Bosch Says:

Please, Glazers, please. Sell the team. I don’t even care if they move. Please remove us from the misery you impose on this community. If you do not, them we can only conclude you are evil.

  508. mh1023 Says:

This thread is hilarious, first time I’ve been on in a year. I remember when the Jameis lovers said “Winston will instantly make the offensive line better because he gets the ball out.” And my favorite…. “Glennon is the problem, not the OL.” LOLOLOLOLOLOL. I’m done now…. I’ll be back next year.

  509. Rod Munch Says:

DB55 – That moment when you watch the game instead of looking at the box score…

  510. DB55 Says:

    Mark

Aikman and Elway has literally HOF offensive lines when the QBs won anything not to mention HOF runningbacks again thanks to the olines. Smh

  511. DooshLaRue Says:

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Munch.

  512. Mark Alstott Says:

…and just as I point out Hudson, he drops it. My bad, shouldn’t have said anything

  513. rrsrq Says:

Is the goal not to show red zone offense, it seems whenever the team has gotten close, they run, run, run

  514. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    23 yarder…….would have been good from 35…..

  515. DB55 Says:

    Rod

Dude had 1 splash play a f’n off sides penalty when literally no one was moving. Get atta here please dude #5 was a wasted pick at #5

  516. Trench War Says:

and they give Santos the chip shop, way to build Gay’s confidence BA smh

  517. mark2001 Says:

Didn’t say that DB…I said early in their careers. Look at the history…those early teams early in their career were bad…and they were beat up. That is part of the reason the guys have so many physical problems now.

  518. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – The Bucs lost 40-10 in game 3 of the 2002 preseason. I’m really not worried about the preseason, at least the way this has played out. If the offense was giving up 500 yards, then I’d be worried, but the offense will be fine – IF Cappa isn’t as awful as he showed tonight. But the defense was where there is questions, and they looked much improved, so to me, that’s encouraging.

  519. Trench War Says:

    chip shot

  520. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Am I the only one who thinks our playcalling has sucked tonight?

  521. DB55 Says:

You guys swear you know what you’re talking about but you do not. And you haven’t for years.

  522. Dapostman Says:

The Browns are a top 5 defense playing against a bottom 5 OL. It ain’t rocket science as to why the offense struggled. 8-8 is probably the ceiling this year. Need a new OL to make any playoff head way. It is what it is. Hopefully it will be addressed next year.

  523. DB55 Says:

    Mark

True story. Misunderstood my bad ✊🏾

  524. Rod Munch Says:

DB55 – You’re calling a guy a bust based on a few quarters quarters of preseason football when he’s playing a soft zone like 90% of the time.

  525. ThonotosassaBuc Says:

Dadgum are special teams are trash on every level. Gotta make some changes.

  526. Bucamania Says:

Run defense has been a positive all preseason. So there’s that.

  527. DB55 Says:

    Minter > White

    Yea I said it

  528. Rod Munch Says:

Tampabaybucfan – It’s preseason, you don’t really gameplan, and you don’t show much of your playbook. Not saying I’m not worried about the play calling, but I’m not worried about it based off this game.

  529. DB55 Says:

Bust not really just not a #5 overall pick.

  530. TB22 Says:

I said before the draft that the Bucs would be stupid to pick White at 5.
    Thought he was way overrated.

I know its still early–but at what point do you start to worry if you are the Bucs?

But Licht has nothing to worry about. He just got a 5 yr extension.

  531. Trench War Says:

    DB55

you say crap like You guys swear you know what you’re talking about but you do not. And you haven’t for years.

and then you say Minter > White

    grow up jerk

  532. Rod Munch Says:

This channel 8 production is embarrassing.

  533. Dom>Licht Says:

#1 pick.. wrong Allen definitely should have been the pick! Next 5 should have been OL! Arians is washed up if anything he saw on tape made him think this OL was even decent. Again lack of upgrades on OL and DL will have us in the basement!

  534. Rod Munch Says:

DB55 – Amazing story bruh, thanks for sharing.

  535. DB55 Says:

You can worry about it in 2 weeks when he has 3 solos by the 4th.

You seen him get stuffed on the blitz a play or 2 before the offsides right? Lolol.

A gap blitzer nothing more. Damn shame really.

  536. Rod Munch Says:

So was Gabbert playing for an injury settlement there, or was his contract fully guaranteed? I forget.

  537. DB55 Says:

Thank you thank you I’m here all week folks

  538. ModHairKen Says:

What the hell is this? Pimping for the weather girl while play is going on? As if watching the debacle of an O Line was not bad enough, we have to listen to a dissertation on radar?

  539. DooshLaRue Says:

    Yeah Channel 8 sucks.
That Leigh Spann thing was especially painful.

  540. Bosch Says:

If Tampa was the USA then the Glazers are China.

  541. Sloppy Joe Says:

Bust after 3 preseason games? smh…Man, some of you are ignorant!!

  542. DB55 Says:

    Trench

I ain’t never tell a lie. You guys will catch up soon, although I don’t it.

  543. DB55 Says:

Yo mama ignant. I didn’t say bust (white) I said not a #5 pick. How stupid can you be? We’ll talk later

  544. TexBuc Says:

IF I was just stronger, faster, and taller you all could be watching me tonight playing against the Browns. Oh and IF was only 25 years younger I could be in the NFL.

I wish saying “IF” would actually make me stronger, faster, and taller.

  545. Rod Munch Says:

DB55 – White blitzed like one time tonight that I noticed, and it was on a delayed blitz. Most of the time he was just in the middle of the field and nothing was coming at him and Baker wasn’t throwing his direction. They barely blitzed, and they didn’t really use White to blitz. He’s not your guy so you’re just throwing a fit.

  546. Bucamania Says:

Tanner Hudson baby! Dude can just play.

  547. JimmyJack Says:

Rod you talked me down off the ledge. I just remembered this same OL blocked for our deadly passing attack from last year. They can surely do better then this practice game.

The defense is really encouraging. They have been flying all preseason. Can’t wait to see how they respond I a real game!!!

  548. DB55 Says:

Auclair done lost his job about 2 games ago. Lololol

  549. mark2001 Says:

    DB….Dallas Cowboys 1989 1-11, 1990 7-9 record. Pittsburgh 1970 5-9, 1971 6-8. What ?

  550. Bucamania Says:

    Where’s my man Schnell?

  551. Rod Munch Says:

Stop this nonsense about Hudson not making the team, if they cut this kid they’re idiots.

  552. Buc4evr Says:

Cappa should be made to play every snap in this game. He Needs all the reps he can get.

  553. DB55 Says:

Not true brother he got stonewalled on one A gap blitz then they sent him again and he jumped offsides. Then baker scrambled and threw the ball right at him on the sidelines that went for a completion he didn’t even stick his hands out. I think it was the play Suh got a penalty.

    Pay attention dude.

  554. Rod Munch Says:

Bucamania – Bucs are hiding Schnell to sneak him onto the practice squad. You don’t put up those numbers in game one and then only get like 6 snaps in the next game if the team isn’t trying to hide you.

  555. Sloppy Joe Says:

Classic yo mama joke lol…dumber than I thought. Do you realize how stupid it is to criticize a rookie in preseason? Especially a middle linebacker who has to worry about calling the plays also…

  556. JimmyJack Says:

Watch Bond out there on defense.

I’ve never been a huge fan but when rewatching last week’s game he was flying all over the place!! I’m changing my opinion on him. Solid football player.

  557. DB55 Says:

    Mark

It’s your world brother I said I misunderstood. You good.

  558. Mark Alstott Says:

DB: I think it’s a little early to label the young man much of anything at this point. Outside of practice, he just hasn’t been on the field much.

  559. Bucamania Says:

Munch – probably right. Like that kid.

  560. Buc4evr Says:

cant wait to see what Arians does about the kicker. Whatever he does it will be wrong. It’s a Bucs life.

  561. DB55 Says:

Bond is playing well against 3rd stringer after 4 years? Wow I’m impressed. Lololol. Smh. What am I going to do with you people?

  562. Mark Alstott Says:

I must be behind by 3-4 minutes going off the comments here.

  563. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – Bond was drafted as a developmental guy, then got injured and lost a year. He’s a guy I think can be a good depth and can play inside or outside.

  564. mark2001 Says:

DB…No problem man… Being an old timer, that remembers the “ice bowl” has to be good for something.

  565. DB55 Says:

it’s a little early to label the young man much of anything at this point.
    ———-
I’m labeling him NOT much of anything.

  566. DB55 Says:

    🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

    #LEGEND

  567. Mark Alstott Says:

Wait to see what Arians does about the kicker…for missing a kick in the preseason? Seriously?

  568. Mark Alstott Says:

    DB: Lol..touche sir, touche

  569. Rod Munch Says:

DB55 – Bond is a natural 3-4 outside LB with good speed and he can play inside. The Bucs are in trouble if anyone gets hurt as they have no depth, but he’s not the worst guy to have back there and is one of their better options.

  570. Mark Alstott Says:

Hey there we go. I’ll take that . Nice!

  571. mark2001 Says:

If Hudson is going to be Griffins “go to” guy. and Gabbert is out for an extended period of time. we really need to find a way to get him on the roster.

  572. JimmyJack Says:

Yes label rookies in preseason year 1. You will only be wrong about half of the time.

  573. MadMax Says:

    Great Eye Griffin! TD!

  574. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

    Too Leggette to quit…nice.

  575. Mark Alstott Says:

Rod…Not for nothing, but the lack of “depth” has been much more entertaining to this point. Just saying

  576. Rod Munch Says:

Gabbert has a long career that proves he’s an awful player – so you might as well go with Griffin. I don’t think Griffin has an NFL arm, but at least there is a chance I’m wrong, with Gabbert, everyone knows what he is. In any case this is a 2-win team without Winston, so why not go with the wildcard?

  577. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We need to seriously consider trading Cam Brate…….we could use that $7 mil along with JPP’s 7.5 and buy some Dline & Oline players.

  578. JimmyJack Says:

Label rookies in preseason. MJ Stewart’s middle finger said hello to you tonight.

  579. Rod Munch Says:

Alstott – I was talking about lack of depth at LB in particular, but I agree, the backups are much more entertaining than the starters so far, at least on offense. Which should mean we have good depth at RB, WR and TE – and Griffin is a Danny Wuerffel type of guy, that can make preseason throws.

  580. Rod Munch Says:

Tampabaybucfan – You’re not going to trade for anything during the season I don’t think, but if you can flip Brate for something of value, like a starting guard, then sure, make it happen. Hudson has looked great and fills that Brate role perfectly – well against backups anyways.

  581. DB55 Says:

Mj stewart is garbage and that’s when not comparing him to Donte Jackson.

  582. ThonotosassaBuc Says:

    Ryan Greatness is the future

  583. DB55 Says:

Why in the world would you trade the one guy who consistently scores TDs?

  584. Rod Munch Says:

Ryan would be a good pickup for the Tampa Bay Vipers.

  585. Mark Alstott Says:

Rod…Understood. Agree on the LB’s, same with Griffin. He’s a smart player, just lacks in the arm strength. Be interesting to see what BA does if Gabbert is out for an extended vacation. You think Griffin is the second QB?

  586. mark2001 Says:

Brate and Jameis have chemistry. I’d hate to see that thrown away.

  587. Rod Munch Says:

Alstott – Yeah, I think they have Griffin as the back, and thankfully Gabbert’s injury makes that an easy call. Griffin is a wildcard, but he is someone that Sean Payton kept around as well for a reason, so it’s not just the Bucs that kept 3 QBs for years.

  588. Mark Alstott Says:

Also…not sure who mentioned the O-Line earlier. That was sack 7 for the game, the entire unit, top to bottom, is not playing well tonight.

  589. ThonotosassaBuc Says:

Another punt that results in their possession past the 50. Pinions gotta go.

  590. Defense Rules Says:

Surprised no one has mentioned Bailey yet tonight. Every time I keyed on him he did his job. Even dominated a couple of times. Don’t know if he’s ready for 1st line duty, but he couldn’t look much worse than Cappa has tonight.

  591. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Our punt coverage has been poor tonight…..but at least we have cut back on ST penalties….

  592. Rod Munch Says:

mark2001 – I don’t disagree with you on Brate, but if you could get a player of value, then you can make that deal. Winston also has chemistry with OJ who is an absolute stud, so I don’t think it’s a horrible move if Hudson is also making plays against the 1st team defense in practice. I really haven’t heard much about Tanner against the top guys in practice, so it’s hard to know what they think.

  593. Defense Rules Says:

And DB55, MJ Stewart has played one heckuva ballgame tonight. Give credit where credit is due.

  594. Mark Alstott Says:

Rod…thought about that before too. Payton stashed him for a reason, but at the same time, he’s 30, and never seen the field outside of the preseason. I’m not comfortable having him as my #2, but that’s a decision for someone who makes a lot more money than me lol

  595. Rod Munch Says:

Ryan Smith in regular season form… meaning he gives up a play but has good speed to make a tackle somewhere down the field. He’s getting paid $2m.

  596. DooshLaRue Says:

    Noah Spence is done.

    Bye bye.

  597. Rod Munch Says:

Yikes, Spence is still playing in the 4th quarter? I thought the team had pegged him a starter.

  598. Mark Alstott Says:

Has Shaq Barrett played tonight? Haven’t seen him

  599. Mark Alstott Says:

Good to see Spence out there. Make all these guys earn that spot. Too many hand-outs for too many years. Love the accountability.

  600. mark2001 Says:

Heard Barrett’s name mentioned when Nacho had a sack.

  601. Rod Munch Says:

Alstott – Barrett has made a couple of plays on this drive, saw him make some players earlier tonight as well. But him and Spence are supposed to be competing for the same spot, or I thought that was the case, but him and Spence are both playing right now. Not a good sign.

  602. AMI_Chris Says:

Man, rod munch and db55, STFU. You are sucking up every bit of oxygen in this thread.

  603. ed kerber Says:

Noah Spence, please report to your locker. place all belongings in the enclosed cardboard box. Thanks for your efforts, but you are no longer part of this team’s plans!

  604. Mark Alstott Says:

Didn’t BA call Barrett out last week? I wanted to see how he’d respond.

  605. Mark Alstott Says:

Rod…I thought they were competing also, maybe I missed something.

  606. Rod Munch Says:

    AMI_Chris – Who are you?

  607. ManzielMadness Says:

Didn’t get to watch the first half… from what I saw Hudson is a stud and Griffin > Gabbert. From what I’ve read… sounds like our OL still sucks (not surprised) and Devin White hasn’t shown up. I like Arians… but Licht is gonna keep this ship sinking.

  608. mark2001 Says:

MM…one clarification…the O line didn’t just suck…they sucked beyond any reasonable expectation. Only in the wildest dreams of suckdom, did they suck…like a 20 on a normal scale of 1 to 10.

  609. MadMax Says:

Gabbert is probably out a while…looks like he broke his wrist or jammed some fingers real bad.

  610. Mark Alstott Says:

Lol Mark. Sums it up nicely

  611. Mark Alstott Says:

MadMax…Believe they said shoulder. Which has been an issue for him in the past

  612. Buccaroo Says:

Just nothing for us to really hang our hat on. Zero points from the starting offense is pretty pathetic

  613. Buccaroo Says:

I think our defense did well considering a lot of missing pieces.

  614. Mark Alstott Says:

Hey Scotty Miller making some nice plays. Too bad he was out the first two games. Him and Hudson might be contributors

  615. Mark Alstott Says:

Agreed Buccaroo. I the whole defense played solid

  616. Mark Alstott Says:

    I think*

  617. Mark Alstott Says:

Yes it’s against the 3’s, but Griffin has had himself a nice preseason thus far

  618. mark2001 Says:

I think the D did as well as we could hope for. They were often put into positions where they couldn’t give up one or two first down without putting the Browns in scoring position. And they held up well, and fought consistently. I don’t know how good they can be, but that side of the ball was encouraging.

  619. MadMax Says:

Griffin is coming on now…i was disappointed the 1st game but these last two he’s looked very calm and poised.

  620. MadMax Says:

And of course, his foot gets stepped on at the snap and he goes down….Bucs life baby!

  621. Buc4evr Says:

Griffin deserves a chance to play in regular season. It’s not like this team will win more than 5 games.

  622. Mark Alstott Says:

MadMax…I was just about to post that. Every time I prop a player up..that happens lol

  623. Rod Munch Says:

Yeah, Griffin did not have a good 1st game until that last drive, but he’s look good these last two games. Again, the issue is his arm, I just don’t think he can throw against starters, but as Vipers starter, he could win it all!

At least the ending of these games has been entertaining.

  624. JimmyJack Says:

Hey not for nothing but Griffin took over early in the third and has looked good going against 2nd stringers.

At least for this game we can throw out the argument that his work comes against 3rd Teamers and practice squad players.

  625. MadMax Says:

Oh ok, thanks Mark, that explains why he was holding his hand to take pressure off….sucks for him but we needed to move on imo before that occurred.

  626. Rod Munch Says:

Browns jobber goes down looking for the injury settlement.

  627. JimmyJack Says:

Rod Griffin also led us in the one minute offense to a FG just before halftime. That was pretty clutch. Something you can’t teach.

Also he led us to two scoring drives to end that game so was more then just one drive.

  628. Rod Munch Says:

Dare really does move all over the place. I’ll never learn how to spell his last name, but if he can make plays in the regular season I can remember Dare.

  629. Mark Alstott Says:

I guess I was going mostly off of the stats, I missed the second half of the first two games. This is the most i’ve seen him this year

  630. JimmyJack Says:

    ^^^ referring to first game.

  631. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – Sure, but again, it’s purely an arm talent issue, he doesn’t have any zip on his balls and against starters those balls are getting knocked down or intercepted.

BUT I could be wrong, which is why you’d keep him over Gabbert, regardless of his injury.

  632. Mark Alstott Says:

Gay with a little redemption after that early miss. Nice

  633. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs beat not only Cleveland, but beat Vegas since they had Cleveland -3.

  634. Rod Munch Says:

Hey if Gabbert is done, does that mean we resign Testaverde? I really want to see Testaverde in a Bucs jersey again, just for old times sake.

  635. JimmyJack Says:

Yeah he performs better then Gabbert and deserves the chance over him. That’s my only point.

  636. Mark Alstott Says:

Rod..My issues are his arm strength too. If called on, week in, and week out…he’s not going to impress much. I think if Gabbert is out for an extended amount of time, they bring in another QB

  637. Mark Alstott Says:

Ugh…70 yds rushing for the game. Not gonna get it done.

  638. Rod Munch Says:

Baker Mayfield had a 30 QB rating tonight against the worst defense in football last year.

    OMG, panic, he’s a BUST!!!!!!!

  639. Rod Munch Says:

The Brown averaged only 2.8 yards per carry tonight rushing the ball… which is the same yardage as Mayfield averaged per pass attempt.

    OMG, panic, he’s a BUST!!!!

  640. Mark Alstott Says:

Even Cleveland fans are more level headed. Sometimes, i’m not sure if that’s how people really think, or just trolling. Unfortunately…it’s probably both. It’s a bucs lyfe

  641. Mark Alstott Says:

Your perspective isn’t entirely off base here, however, I would like to see the ground game solidify itself a little bit more. Although..I’m happy with RoJo’s progression. He looks A LOT better this year. Yes, It’s early, but still

  642. Rod Munch Says:

Mayfield will be a good QB, but if he was the Bucs QB, these fake fans in here would be saying he’s a bust and saying he should be cut to play a 3rd string QB.

So I’m mocking the morons in here panicking and saying the season is over because the offense didn’t look amazing in a half a game in preseason.

  643. Go Bucs 72 Says:

I can’t decide which is worse Alex Crappa’s play or Baker Mayfield’s mustache.
