It’s A Hip Landing But No Touchdown For Cameron Brate

July 27th, 2019

Joe likes this video below from practice today because it’s a great indicator that Cameron Brate, coming off a surgically repaired him, is not hampered by it.

No, it wasn’t a touchdown. Kudos to Lavonte David in tight coverage. But Brate skies for the ball, pulls it down, tries toe-tapping and lands hard on his hip, but he’s outside of the end zone.

Brate was gushing the other day — and earlier this month — about being 100 percent healthy. And it’s good to see a nugget of football verification like this in the video from TheAthletic.com writer Greg Auman.

Joe loves the idea that Brate is fighting for playing time. That’s what you call depth. There’s only one football, and Bucco Bruce Arians can only call the numbers of so many weapons when he gets in the red zone. Hopefully, Brate’s healthy revival will make that a consistently difficult decision.

Put him with Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers and he is a perennial pro bowler… But still not good enough for some Bucs fans…
