“Come On, Dude”

Outs smart receiver.

Bucco Bruce Arians is not one to bite his tongue. So when praising a Bucs receiver, Arians had to confess that the receiver, who he likes, made a really dumb play in practice.

Arians, in his press conference after practice yesterday, was asked about second-year receiver Justin Watson. Arians likes him and bragged how he could play inside or outside and is big with “sneaky” speed.

But then Arians couldn’t hold back. Earlier in his remarks, Arians talked about how the team had a good practice except for a guy in situational drills who came out of the end zone on fourth down to catch a pass at the one and was tackled.

In a game, that would have meant the offense would turn the ball over on downs.

“We had a couple of dumb things we can correct,” Arians said. “Like coming out of the end zone on fourth down and catching it on the one instead of getting deeper in the end zone.”

So when Arians was later praising Watson, Arians let the cat out of the bag and outed Watson as the culprit who caught the ball at the one. Arians couldn’t believe Watson was the guy who pulled the stunt.

“He is the guy who went down and came out of the end zone,” Arians said. “He is so smart. It’s like, ‘Come on, dude. You know, you’re one of the smartest guys we have.'”

Arians then resumed raving about Watson.

For those unaware, Watson graduated from Penn of the Ivy League. Specifically, Watson graduated from the prestigious Wharton School of Business, which pumps out business tycoons like Hooters does wings. Graduates include Warren Buffett, Elon Musk, August Busch IV and our 45th President of the United States.

Joe has a hunch Watson won’t be stepping out of the end zone to catch any sort of pass again.

Perfect balance of course correction and praise. Who said (me) Licht couldn’t get anything right?! It was fortuitous if not lucky…but still.

August Busch IV, I had to laugh. The guy that single handily destroyed A-B. Even Three Sticks (AB III) won’t even talk to him. Not a good comparison, hopefully Watson is smarter.

Glad to see BA is calling out idiot plays. At the very least this season should be fun….like the John McKay years.

How much cash has he made?

I credit Watson for bringing RoJo out of his shell. They were roommates last season, and he would tutor him on the playbook.

Watson will blow some minds this year.

Watson has a lot of upside to him. He’s just stuck behind a loaded position at WR. The kid is a starter on any other team

@joe. Straw man argument. Trust fund baby. His mba is from St. Louis university where daddy gave lots of money. Wharton, really ? The guy is not a business tycoon by any stretch.
Jameis is a saint in comparison. “Dethroning the King” Is a great read during the off season.

So to Joe the monetarily wealthiest people are the smartest?

Buc4, I thought you may have sited #45 before any of the others on that list, despite being low-hanging fruit.
