“JPP Called Out McCoy’s Manhood In The Middle Of The Game”

May 22nd, 2019

Happier days for JPP and Gerald McCoy

For unknown reasons, former Buccaneer Gerald McCoy’s devoted teammates didn’t vote him captain last season after he held that position for several years.

It was a rough result for McCoy, who took great pride in his leadership status with the team. No. 93 shrugged it off at the time, saying the guys who named captain were completely deserving.

Did McCoy have non-believers on the Bucs?

Former Bucs guard Ian Beckles (1990-1996) thinks so. The WDAE-AM host, a longtime McCoy basher, was fired up on the airwaves yesterday, trying to make sure everyone listening understands that McCoy is soft — and certainly far softer than the guy about to replace him, Ndamukong Suh.

“It’s a known fact because it was heard on the headset, [Jason Pierre-Paul] called out McCoy’s manhood in the middle of the game, ‘You ain’t about nothin’. You ain’t tough and you ain’t about nothin’. Beckles barked on the air. “That doesn’t happen to leaders. I’ve never seen it.”

Joe has no knowledge of this alleged JPP outburst, though Joe has heard of JPP being a guy who was known to arrive late to meetings and to freelance on the field against the direction of coaches.

Well, it’s all moot now. JPP broke his neck and McCoy is gone.

  1. Youngbucs Says:

Well all those late meetings and going against trash coaching brought the team leader in sacks so…is that point still moot?

  2. D-Rome Says:

It’s a known fact because it was heard on the headset

Well, it’s statements like this that no one can prove or disprove. Kinda like when we hear Dennis Rodman say he could have shut down Kevin Durant. We’ll never know.

I still find it interesting that of all the people that report on the Bucs (and there are many) Beckles is the *only* guy to have this kind of knowledge. How would he know what is or isn’t said on the headset? Was he on the sidelines?

  3. Stonedbuc Says:

Real recognitize real, and McCoy’s looking pretty unfamiliar.

Now Donavan Smith doesn’t have someone to play action figures with.

  4. ATrain Says:

Maybe Beckles is the only one who will report it

How many stories do we need about McCoy being called out

Winston called him out in a sit down meeting

GMC was seen on TV pouting before a game as Winston fires up the team

    JPP “possible” called him out

    ExNFL players called him out

    COME ON

The Bucs built this man up to sell the Tickets to a basement Team

The media was on board look at how GMC is defended in the media
I.E. the Best Stat is QB hits

  5. danr Says:

could it have come accross as background noise, when someone was mic-ed up? could that be what he means?

  6. SCBucsFan Says:

And Beckles, a huge GMC and generally all things Bucs hater, kept this quiet until now.

Sure he did. Out of respect for McCoy and the organization. Nah, he wouldn’t have dropped that earlier for the ratings.

    Fake news.

  7. tmaxcon Says:

Joe you’ve been in denial over cancer93 for way too long. Time to pull head out and take fresh breath of air…. cancer93 is and always be a soft, selfish, camera hound that got paid and turned turtle. Career loser and face of the basement years. Nothing more. Stop with cancer93 articles focus on the fact these young men have a chance finally

  8. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Lay off McCoy looser he gone!

  9. Buc believer Says:

Everyone that has or is still defending this fraud this little girlie man needs to read this and see that pansy arse isn’t worth defending anymore. We finally have been diagnosed as cancer free thanks to Dr. Arians!!

  10. tnew Says:

“though Joe has heard of JPP being a guy who was known to arrive late to meetings and to freelance on the field against the direction of coaches.”

Amateur debate tactic here. Throw out an unrelated point in attempt to discredit an opposing point.

“Well, it’s all moot now. JPP broke his neck and McCoy is gone.” This is the only thing that matters.

Beckle’s problem is that he deals in hearsay, only sometimes citing source. I’ve heard accounts similar to this but it was off the cuff stuff. I’m not sure what the context and I don’t know how GMC reacted to it. No matter the case, Suh is a Buc now. I think we would all know if any player called out Suh’s manhood.

  11. Lamarcus Says:

Who cares if JPP was late for meetings and/or freelancing. I like how threw that cold shot on JPP because what he did allegedly to GMC?

Stop defending GMC he is not a Buc. JPP is a Buc but you still bashed him.

  12. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

If true…and that’s a BIG IF…..then JPP is a poor teammate. Beckles (and JBF) dealing in tawdry rumors……bad reporting.

  13. Nick2 Says:

JPP will be back, thankfully McCoy never will but give him his ring of honor spot he deserves it.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Let’s take BA’s lead & talk about players who are here.

  15. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Rumor is that it was a bat mobile replica than ran JPP off the road 😉

  16. Eric Says:

It was a business decision, they got as good a player for less money when they needed to free some up.

Guys say all kinda crap during a game.

I would like to know if the bucs tried to get Gerald to accept the Suh money. If they didn’t then they really wanted to get rid of him.

And if they did Gerald just wanted out of here.

  17. Bobby M. Says:

Beckles has mentioned it multiple times on the air…weeks ago. McCoy was really good on very bad teams, that always stood out to me. DT are highly valued in the NFL, he could have got paid anywhere and won. He could have forced his way out years ago…..Yet he’s always been content losing. When Winston came to town it seemed like McCoy started going out of his way to stay relevant and remain a “leader”. As the saying goes, real recognizes real and nobody was buying what McCoy was selling anymore. He’s a very productive player and likely has some gas left in the tank for another team but it was time to move on and make way for new leaders in that locker room.

  18. RCS Says:

joe, why you take a shot at JPP? site your sources because I’ve never heard any of the things you threw JPP under the bus for in a story about McCoy…. not JPP…. Seems to me Joe is bias towards McCoy.

  19. SCBucsFan Says:

And a friend of mine knows a guy who is friends with a guy who works with a guy who paints the lines on the field and he said Evans called out JW for eating a corndog in the huddle. Of course this is confirmed as much as Beckles story so its equally true.

  20. Youngbucs Says:

I think we can all stop bashing McCoy now that he’s gone but the guy is an awesome father and he’s a good football player mentally and athletically he’s decent but he lacked that fire that grit that we need to push the other players to do more leadership by example will Suh do that maybe out there with JPP, DW 45 AUTO we’ll have the start of something respectable for a change?

  21. chopshopp Says:

I think McCoy pissed in Beckles’ cereal or something. Who cares if JPP was late for meetings, he showed up on the field where it counts.

  22. Race to 10 Says:

Whether its true jpp said it or not that’s what the fans believed well the ones that know how to watch football. You can see the only times he shows up it has to do with rushing and passing situations. He is invisible against the run. He is soft and he ain’t about nothing, great players don’t lose that much or get blown out that much because they also inspire guys to play harder

Every year regardless of who is added to the line we get gashed. Watch that change now that he’s gone

  23. SOEbuc Says:

I hope when you put up Beckles quotes in your articles Joe that it means it is an extremely slow day.

Guy is a joke amongst a joke.

  24. TraumaMurse Says:

All I know is, when JPP is on the field he’s “all about that life”. The guy is tough and has a nonstop motor.
I did read a story years ago that he picked up Prince Amukamara and carried him across the locker room and threw him in a pool. while calling him some version of “soft”.

I have always liked GMC, but I understand the vitriol. Sometimes you just want your tough guys to be tough all the way around and that’s just not his nature.

  25. NOSBOS Says:

But that candy-@$$ is a heroe to some of you. Says a lot about you.

  26. Todd Says:

Beckles makes sh!t up all the time. Especially his idiotic political commentary. I take everything he says with a grain of salt. He has no credibility with me.

  27. Bird Says:

Believing Beckles . Now that’s funny.

So McCoy is soft . That’s fine. Nice guys finish last.
    And Suh is unstable
Hope Suh takes out his crazy on his opponents and not on his own teammates. Worried a little for devin white who is now leader of defense. Luckily LVD played with him at Nebraska so hope he has some control over him.

Should make for some good tv
    ——-

Arians calls out players. You think he feels safe calling out Suh ?

  28. tmaxcon Says:

    rcs

joe is beyond biased when it comes to mccoy and has been for years. joe cares more about feelings than actual on field results now…. Joe has not been the same since one of cancer93 press conferences where she cried. joe must have bought into the tears because actual on field results prove what a selefish bum cancer93 was. I am convinced that Joe also posts under the name bonzi when he really gets butt-hurt or when his little darling is being rightfully criticized for failing. mccoy fans are not buc fans they are fans of losing and basement titles and prefer soft heartless losers who are proven frauds over throat stomping winners. on field results are all that matter not what church(cult) he goes to or what skirt he likes to wear out at night…. wins and loses are all that matter and cancer93 failed at winning and failed at making those around him better. Just like dungy the clown failed to build and offense, special teams or understand game day management. i don’t think joe writes about scary dragons and midget elves though that might be his alter ego

at the very beginning joe was an objective fan with a passion. now Joe is a PC warrior who is smitten by the washed up has beens who had 1 good year. we miss the real joe!!!!! turn a new leaf let the has beens go and start fresh joe

  29. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

Like Jamie said to Cersei, “Nothing else matters!”

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lli99OmkPwM

What number is Suh going to wear? 93?

  30. 813bucboi Says:

beckles mentioned it during the season…..he said jpp chin checked gmc…..and i believe him….

beckles has an inside source in demar dotson….ive seen them hanging out multiple times and they have/had a food truck together…..

i dont see why it hard to believe…baker came in and ran sh!t while he was here…..

when baker jumped offsides it was kwon and winston who jumped on his a$$(allegedly) not GMC….

regarding JPP, i could care unless if he showed up late in meetings or practice…..he was always on time on sunday…..

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  31. Conte Piscatelli Says:

I can only hope it was said, but the truth is with how terrible our defense was last year I think it’s safe to say ever player could have likely been called out just the same. I hope there were players on the team that called out teammates for not caring, for packing it in, for loafing. This defense has lacked any leadership that would hold their teammates to a standard and demand them to keep it.

  32. Maze Says:

Probably the way many teammates felt

  33. Bird Says:

Just don’t see JPP playing this year.

  34. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Some of you losers will believe anything.

  35. Adrnagy Says:

It’s like whatever … McCoy is gone. We should see a whole new attitude on the defense. Same goes to Dotson he’s the longest oline. If he goes or changes is desire to get down and dirty the oline will play better. I want more info on Tom Moore joe …is he mentoring leftwhich ?offense?

  36. Cobraboy Says:

It is odd, and telling, when McCoy was not voted as a captain. I scratched my head over that.

    Culture change.

  37. Lamarcus Says:

    813bucboi

Agreed. There was something about 3 days after the season JPP called out another dlineman on Twitter calling him a “fake” and many speculated is was GMC although jpp didn’t mention any names

  38. tmaxcon Says:

    Hawaiian Buc Says:

Some of you losers will believe anything.

speaking of losers… how are you handling getting your nose rubbed in dog crap sir… first you super hero failure ran out of town like the pos he is and now they sign the arch enemy of choirboy loving failures… rough day sir rough day!!!!! your hero failed simple as that and it took a real coach with a sack to stand up to the glazers to run this fool out of town… buc got a lot better and a lot tougher yesterday

  39. NOSBOS Says:

And other losers will discredit everything.

  40. Totally Exonerated Says:

    Haha

Just when you think this can’t get any funnier, another thing gets added. I haven’t laughed this hard about football ever. GMCs softness is blatantly obvious

  41. Eric y Says:

Joe before loved JPP now he’s bashing JPP because of how he called out McCoy … yet joe says this may not be true … seems like your taking it as true joe … your boy is gone … your mad … I’m happy that he’s gone and your mad … ha ha ha

  42. Eric y Says:

By the way joe … JPP became the leader of the team… he lets his play on the field talk … McCoy is all talk

  43. Totally Exonerated Says:

Look like Tarzan. Work out like Tarzan. Play and lead like Jane’s genitals.

  44. Mike Johnson Says:

Thats right Joe. Why even post this. Its Moot like you said. Time to either move forward or backwards……. And anything coming from Beckles as far as play goes? I can remember him getting beat down at his position constantly….

  45. Totally Exonerated Says:

Through all the years of losing, that game was probably the only time GMC didn’t accomplish his only goal: Just have fun.

  46. BucsBall80 Says:

Ya I heard Beckles yeaterday afternoon on the radio. 2 hrs aftre the coach explained what was going on with Hargraves. Theres Beck talking crap about Hargraves. Saying his head ant right. Stop with crap Beckles. Your just another bystander on the outside looking in. He must of felt pretty salty when he found out. So take what he says with a grain of salt. And Beckles you where a garbage player. Dont act like you was good. Film dont lie. But Beckles dose. All about his ratings and job security. Old Buc Bashing Beckles is at it agin.

  47. geno711 Says:

I tend to believe Ian on this subject although I know he is clearly just been the biggest McCoy hater. But who followed the Lion’s (or Miami) enough to know for sure.

    I agree with @MikeJohnson above…

Where Ian Beckles loses me is on his revisionist history of his own playing skill when he is on the radio.
He was typically the worst or the 2nd worst O-lineman on the Bucs’s on a team that gave up sacks, could not run the ball well and during his tenure was almost always in the bottom 10 of most meaningful statistics for offensive lineman. In fact over 50% of the time that team he was on was in the bottom 3 of meaningful stats for offensive lines.

Just remember that when Ian spouts on the radio that take his qualifications as a guy that played football at the highest level. I do appreciate that but with a huge grain of salt. Ian did not play football at the level of GMC. He was a journeyman that the lousy Buc’s played way too much.

Seems like a good dude (a phrase Ian likes to use on the radio). That is the best I have for him.

  48. buc53 Says:

You had my eyes until you mentioned Beckles. I trust what that guy says about as much as I trust a used car salesman.

  49. El Buco Realisto Says:

I wonder if the sheep will call JPP sinister, or a locker room cancer!!!!!! I wonder what the shhep will say when they learn the truth!!!!! Word on the street was that Djax did about the same thing to the QB!!!!!!!! I guess it only matters for the fanboys!!!!!!! If the o-line protected the qb like the shhep do, then the Bucs would lead the league in non sacks given up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  50. Lord Cornelius Says:

All I know is McCoy hated being a leader, hated having the pressure of being a rookie leader, hated his rookie season despite us winning 10 games, but loved to brag about personal stats, and loved the attention and media, and seemed constantly bothered by haters.

Yeah thank god we made that guy the freaking face of our franchise.

I can’t understand why fans ever had a problem with that.

  51. Lord Cornelius Says:

“Word on the street was that Djax did about the same thing to the QB!!!!!”

    lmao…

Djax got in Winston’s face over his manhood and toughness…

Yeah makes TONS Of sense that soft diva WR would get riled up like a bad4ss defensive lineman to talk toughness with a QB.

Just stop dude. You don’t need to go all tin foil hat off the tampa 2 conspiracy deep end with every story. This is a good day let us enjoy it.

Winston actually cares about winning and always has compared to McCoy. Winston is the one from the beginning that sensed this locker room was dog sh1t in terms of a winning culture.

But tin foil hat on. Desean Jackson is really a guy that we should look to for locker room accountability. LMFAO

  52. DBS Says:

cant b!tch about gmc anymore…..your running out of excuse!!!!!!!….dirk and smitty have been exposed as frauds!!!!!!

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!!

  54. SCBucsFan Says:

DBS if -IF – the Bucs ever win I can’t wait to see the new usernames

  55. Bucsfanman Says:

Like I said yesterday, I’ll be so glad when the reverse-honeymoon is over.
“He said this and he said that….” on and on and on.
GMC’s gone. Turn the page and lets write the next chapter. None of this is relevant NOW!

  56. DBS Says:

SC That is A big IF. But mine won’t.

  57. '79 Defense Says:

If McCoy played before the days of social media it would basically have been just another story about a long time Buc leaving the team, but now everyone and everyone has a chance to bash a guy they have never met.

The pot gets stirred by these morons and they absolutely love doing it.

  62. gotbbucs Says:

JPP, who is known to call out teammates that arent doing their job, calls out Joe’s man crush GMC for what alot of us, including the head coach of this team, have seen the last couple years.

Joe essentially calls JPP a “poop face” for saying it, while he tries to drag him through some mud.

My only regret is that other players didnt call it out sooner. Maybe they could have lit a fire under that soft a$$ and the team could have gotten something out of that $100 million.

  63. El Buco Realisto Says:

    @813broccoli

Of course, fix the trenches will be a big part of the 2020 offseason!!!!!!! Why, do you think one band-aid is going to fix everything!!!!!!! While Suh is better than all three of the slappies that light weight signed last year!!!!!! That still does not make it a fix!!!!!!! It will be an issue in 2020!!!! And I know you do not understand, but you will see this season!!!!!!! So listen bruh!!!!! You ain’t about nothin!!!!!!!! You ain’t tough and you ain’t about nothin’!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  64. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

  65. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    where are my comments ?

  66. Darryls64 Says:

Believe what JPP said or not, but there was a reason that McCoy was let go, BA would not get rid of a player that he thought could help his team, there may be more to the cancer comment than people want to believe, culture is a big deal.

  67. ATrain Says:

Why are comments being removed Joe

  68. Magadude Says:

It’s also moot because Ian Beckles was a piece of crap player. And not much different since, off the field.

  69. Oneyed buc Says:

BA or BS that’s what hes starting sound like. All of you fans talking Super Bowl must be listening to BS. BA has won only one playoff game he is not Bill Parcells. Lovie Smith went to the Super Bowl with the bears. What did he do here, get my point 6-10 at best.
