Inside Day 6 OTA Practice

May 24th, 2019

The sun was shining and Buccaneers were shining on the practice fields of One Buc Palace.

Yesterday was Day 6 of OTA sessions, aka spring underwear football practice. Unfortunately, Joe and local media were not permitted to watch these top secret affairs, but thankfully, in-house Buccaneers.com reporter Carmen Vitali was allowed to scrutinize the activities of Bucco Bruce Arians and friends.

Joe read her report and has the key takeaways.

  1. Ronald Jones is elusive.
  2. Undrafted rookie RB Bruce Anderson was praised by an unnamed QB.
  3. Vernon Hargreaves caught a deflected pass.
  4. Will Gholston batted a pass.
  5. Devin White is vocal on the field and highly engaged with Lavonte David on the sidelines.
  6. Jameis Winston looks confident.
  7. Ronde Barber and Booger McFarland watched practice.
  8. Longtime NFL defensive assistant Tom Pratt, 83, was at practice. …. Per Joe’s research, he was the Bucs’ defensive line coach for Sam Wyche in 1995, and he worked with Bucco Bruce Arians in Kansas City.

In the 47-photo gallery published by the team after yesterday’s practice, there were lots and lots of photos of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston. Joe was glad to see that after Wednesday’s practice gallery didn’t feature Jameis.

Players get a break for a long Memorial Day weekend and are back on the field Tuesday, when Joe and local media will be allowed to watch.

Is Carmen’s report not available to general public? Just wondering why we are getting your summary of her report.

  2. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Isnt carmen’s report kind of a KGBish report because it is not true reporting but sending out information to make the bucs look good no matter what? Cant wait for actual live scrimmages against other teams and then pre season

  3. 813bucboi Says:

hope zack is with you tuesday…..

    GO BUCS!!!!

  4. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Man, I sure hope Rojo can shine outside of underwear football!

  5. Waterboy Says:

No knock on Carmen as a reporter because she’s just doing her job but I prefer the unfiltered notes of what really happened in practice.

  6. joestang Says:

RoJo was so elusive isnt saying much against our defense.

  7. Erik Hesson - Fine Artist - City of St Pete (formerly known as 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs Fans') ***Rhealist, louden, & tmax are the worst posters ever!!! Says:

Rojo WILL. BE. Jamaal Charles 2.0.

  8. Defense Rules Says:

Wow Joe, the Bucs are actually gonna let you watch practice on Tuesday? Don’t you feel especially blessed by their acquiescence?

I personally find articles like this very condescending … on the part of the Bucs. Kinda like ‘We’ll tell you what you need to know & that’s ALL you need to know’. Glazers need to understand that the Bucs are supposed to be ENTERTAINMENT, and a big part of that is PROMOTING YOUR PRODUCT. They’ve done an abysmal job of that, and they have no one to blame but themselves.

Although they apparently blame you too Joe. After all, only allowing you at selective practices must be their version of AWAITING MODERATION. Hmmm, I wonder if their tune would change if you promoted them in a more positive Licht?

  9. Doctor Stroud Says:

Yes, rather than a summary of the principal conclusions of the Vitali Report, we would like to see the full, unredacted version.

  10. Todd Says:

    Zack-be-with-you, Bucs. Good stuff.

  11. Joe Says:

we would like to see the full, unredacted version.

    Hahaha

  12. Sarasota Garey Says:

Have you noticed how under the radar Winston is this off year? It seems like every other year he has been the focus of attention, Arians has been doing a good job of discreetly hiding him, its like we forgot hes even there

  13. Buccernutter Says:

    Loving these subliminal shots.

Someone’s bitter they can’t watch practice. Haha.

    YOU rule!

ALL NFL teams have superior athletes with lots of talent. ALL of them should look pretty good in underwear football.

The ONLY thing I take from these things is how JW is throwing and how the DB’s are covering. No hitting…what else counts?

Can a guy throw or catch and is he fast and powerful. Until he knocks noggins with other guys no way to measure his heart or toughness and desire.

  16. Sport Says:

I’m not a believer in unfettered access at all times. Letting the team work amongst themselves is not a bad thing. So quit your whining and go refill your sippy cup. The adults have work to do.

    In BA I Trust!

  17. unbelievable Says:

    Lol doctor stroud. Nailed it!

  18. Lord Cornelius Says:

I hope the lack of media attention is about the culture change here more than anything. The anti-Hard Knocks approach.

    GO BUCS

“we would like to see the full, unredacted version.”

So would the coaching staff of all our opponents in September and November.

    __________
    Go Bucs!!!

Just like the fake news mainstream media!
Everybody should learn about Project Mockingbird. You won’t learn about it in school, since the same people write that curriculum.

  23. Old School Nole Says:

Rojo was elusive? Is that better or worse than being invisble last year?

  24. #1bucsfan Says:

    Need more news than that
