Dotson Eager For September

Spring the season of talk.
Sure, Bucs players may have a spring in their step this spring because it’s a new year, new hopes and new coaches.
But a guy who has been through way too many coaching changes with the Bucs is weary of empty spring talk. He’s more concerned about quality of play in the fall.
That would be right tackle Demar Dotson. A true graybeard of the Bucs, Dotson is now on his fifth Tampa Bay head coach since he broke in 2009. That may be some sort of record. How many NFL players have been with but one team but had five different head coaches in a decade? Joe Thomas, maybe?
Dotson is happy if his teammates are mentally refreshed by the coaching change. But as Dotson told Joe this week after underwear football practice, he’d rather be happy with wins later this year.
“When you talk about [practices] in April and May, everybody has energy — you better,” Dotson said. “It’s a new coaching staff. It’s new excitement.
“But you win football games beginning in September. We know that. But I do like the coaching staff. I do like the guys we have in the room. I do like the energy we are bringing out here on the practice field.
“I don’t see that big of a difference than what we had last year in the energy that we brought. I thought we had good energy last year. I think we have good energy this year. I am just anxious to see how we move forward to training camp and once the season starts.”
Very well put by Dotson. Right now, talking about energy and passion is sort of empty when guys can’t even wear shoulder pads.
Time will tell if the Bucs really have energy when the season begins. Right now, spring is all about hope. And hope is the only thing Bucs fans have to cling to in this Lost Decade.

The difference this year won’t be energy
The difference will be Leadership and Coaching
And hopefully, Dotson can be replaced by someone who can run block

Real football starts in May (Lovie)……not November.

Did a lil research for as much as some of you lames like to pull the chain of division rivals. I think ol Dot will do just fine. Ya see yesterday someone made it their business to talk about how the other south teams load up Dline to get more sacks. Hmm. The aints finish last season with grand total of 49 sacks cam Jordan had the most with 12. Not bad I suppose. The dirty turds had 37,tak lead the way with a total of 7. Meh. Lastly there was the kitty cats who had a total of 35,Addison lead them with 9. In short I think Jameis will be just next season.

Joe you are a funny guy living in a world of gray clouds. Thanks for reminding us that even though “spring is all about hope”, we are in a “Lost Decade”. Nice touch with the caps on Lost Decade while not on hope. Classic.

Oh and the aints had one sack in the playoffs there oops had 4. They may complain about that none call in the rams game but truth be told if Alshon Jeffery simply squeezes the football they wouldn’t have gotten past philly. See y’all look at our division as being beastly. I don’t.

Dotson will not be “Eager” for January that is most likely his retirement party!!!!!!!! And will just be another part of the reload that is masquerading as an apparent rebuild to all!!!!!! The big question is will it just be DOT, or will an ole stale biscuit be co-hosting that party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dotson is and has always been garbage… i gurantee any defenders that are going to face this bum are far more eager for the games to begin knowing they get the day off going against Dotson… playing against the bucs offensive line is like a day off for even back up defenders

He will get injured in camp/preseason and will miss the season. Mark the tape. OL will ultimately doom the Bucs and JW’s 19’ season.

Dotson came in as an UDFA ten years ago and worked his way up in about three years into a starting role.
Not bad for “garbage”. Wish we had more like him! We would have had a helluva OL for the past five or six years.
