Bucs, GMC To “Part Ways”

May 20th, 2019

Bucs career ends

What has been rumored for months happened tonight.

The Bucs released a statement this evening that the team and stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy have “mutually agreed to part ways.”

This ends the nine-year tenure of GMC with the Bucs, which began when GMC was the third-overall pick.

“These decisions are very difficult, personally and professionally,” AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht said in the statement. “Over the past nine years, Gerald has been a cornerstone of this franchise and a leader in our community.

“Parting ways with a player and person such as Gerald is one of the toughest responsibilities of this job. We wish Gerald, along with his wife, Ebony, and the entire McCoy family continued success and thank them for everything they have meant to our organization and community.”

The move frees up some $13 million in salary cap relief, which allows the Bucs breathing room on the cap and also allows the Bucs to sign their rookie draft class.

It also, however, takes away six sacks and a team-leading 21 quarterback hits — on a team pinched in pass rushing with the possible loss of Jason Pierre-Paul as a result of his fractured neck in a May car accident.

  1. Wesley Says:

A g.m. with any I.Q. at all would have traded him last season and actually gotten something in return.

  2. AlteredEgo Says:

Is tmax going with him ?

  3. Brandon Says:

I wish him nothing but the best. Let’s hope he doesn’t go to the Saints or any NFC South team.

  4. NOSBOS Says:

Good riddance. Now go get Mo Wilkerson.

  5. Unimpressed Says:

    2-14

  6. Danr Says:

The fact he disnt blink has to be the biggest L taken by licht this offseason. Worse than jpp.

  7. GauisfrakkinBaltar Says:

All on Jason Licht and his awful FA signings.

Man should never be a GM again after he gets fired here. Completely incompetent.

And he embarrasses AC/DC by being a fan too

  8. Go Bucs 72 Says:

Don’t let the door hit you on the ass on the way out McCrybaby.

  9. Waterboy Says:

I’m curious to see his new contract on the open market. I’m guessing he’s worth about 8 mil a year max.

  10. Unimpressed Says:

A winning team will pick him up, Gerald will go on to have the best years of his career.

  11. Miketb19 Says:

It’s the right thing to do McCoy was not worth the 13 million he was due and apparently no other GM thought so if this was 2 or 3 years ago the situation may have been different but now we can sign our rookies and pick up a few vets at a cheaper price to help out the D-Line for now

  12. DooshLaRue Says:

    21 QB hits?

How many of those weren’t followed by immediate apologies?

    So happy Softie is gone!

  13. Danr Says:

He took a gamble, went all in on gerald blinking. And gerald fought for his family. Like he was backed in a corner 😉

  14. tmaxcon Says:

the young bucs finally have hope…. this is the third greatest day in bucs history….

    Greatest Moments in Franchise History

    1. Superbowl Win
    2. Firing Dungy the clown
    3. Getting rid of captain blowout cancer93

  15. Clw JB Says:

Mixed feelings like most, we need players, but he is WAY overpaid

Good player, not the dominating force you would expect from his draft status

not sure why he would have not just renegotiated with us, there are better players than him still on the street right now

Tells me we weren’t offering too much and he thinks he can do better elsewhere –

Best of luck with that and we will miss the A/C form your family suite in the 219!!

  16. Rayjay1122 Says:

Somewhere, Tmax is having a party. Lol

  17. tmaxcon Says:

I said 5 years ago bucs would never win a meaningful game with cancer93 on roster and as usual I AM ALWAYS RIGHT!!!!

now go get a real man in Suh to right a previous wrong….

  18. DB55 Says:

    Oh happy days!!!

I hope he does come to the nfcs we could use some easy RZ TDs. Our running game would improve drastically.

I just saw a clip of one of McIceCream’s QB hits that resulted in a 25 yard completion so what are we really talking about?

  19. Defense Rules Says:

Time to move on. The good news is that we now have about $8 mil to play with after we pay our remaining rookies. On the bad news side we now need to find a replacement DT/DE. Such is life in Bucsville.

  20. Timbo Slice Says:

The move only frees up $13? I’m sure you could find someone in Ybor Coty for that price tag 😂😂😂😂😂

  21. Joe Says:

Somewhere, Tmax is having a party. Lol

    Party is at Beckles’ house.

  22. Tbbucs3 Says:

I’m going to miss Schiano Gerald Mccoy. Thank you 2012-2013 GMC!!

  23. Red86 Says:

Thanks for your service and wish you the best. Now, the Bucs can finally be free to properly build the d line without wondering how someone feel.

  24. OBP Says:

Sad to see him go but it was a necessary business decision, I hope Gerald signs with a contender outside of the division and gets to win a title. Dude was a class act and deserves a ring, looking forward to him getting his name in the Ring of Honor in a couple years.

  25. DB55 Says:

So many examples of McIceCream winning off the field but not 1 example of him winning on the field so what you really talking about?

  26. Tampabaybucfan Says:

This is for the best…..I agree, Licht should have either traded GMC last year or restructured him with guarantees for 2019-20……GMC would have probably done a deal then.
Licht should have traded Djax last year….but they (Licht & Koetter) were in a job-saving mode.

  27. gotbbucs Says:

Bye. Thanks for virtually no memories other than “Sorry, Ben”.

  28. Buc believer Says:

    YAY!!! ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!!

    LOL 🙂

  30. Bucsfan1988 Says:

Yep, this should have happened last season when we could have controlled where GMC went and could have gotten something for him.

Oh well, it’s done now. Let’s get to work with splash signing….

Plan A: Grab Sub on a 2 year deal w 16 mill guaranteed. Played 5 technique in 3/4 defense for Rams that got to the Super Bowl. Has playoff experience and is nasty, which is what we need. Put him next to VV and that inside defensive wall is SOLID!!!

Plan B: Try & pry Jadaveon Clowney from Texans. He on franchise tag there and they couldn’t get deal done. Throw them 2020 3rd rounder and Justin Evans. Will need to cut JPP as well then sign JDC to extended contract…Now we cooking with gas!!!

    Just my thoughts….

  31. miken Says:

pretty odvious Mccoy was the reason#3 turned it over so much… he had to go

  32. Zzbuc Says:

Wish him nothing but the best!! Will miss him a true pro!! But his best days are Over…… I beg this GM manges the money responsabily…. we are in cap hell because of him and his incorrect decistions. Hope he learned something, bring a replacement and or año Ol….. dont bring secondary now please. Our bigger needs are OL and DL

  33. DB55 Says:

    Gotbbucs

Don’t forget “YOU LIKE THAT?!?!?!?!?!!!” Then McIceCream giving him a hug after the game!!!!

  34. martinii Says:

“Good Luck 93, see you again in the “Ring of Honor.” You won’t be unemployed long.

  35. donuts Says:

GMC is a good player, who was haunted by the ghost of greatness in Sapp. Wish him the best but this D will be better without him and Kwon. Time to move on and forward.

  36. Bucsfan1988 Says:

I hate when posts are stuck in moderation….

  37. ARGH_M8E Says:

    Get Suh!!!

  38. RODNEY ALLEN Says:

Hoping he does go to a nfc south team is dumb cuz he will be hungry n Winston might be the one to pay for it. I mean he’d definitely apologize for the hit but….🤷‍♂️😂😂😂 All jokes aside though I’m was a GMC fan n I hate to see him go especially for nothing but I also know it was something that kinda had to be done with our cap issue

“Good Luck 93, see you again in the “Ring of Honor.” You won’t be unemployed long.

get right it’s the Ring of Underachievement outside of Gruber, Selmon and Sapp the rest are glorified backups and underachievers…

  40. rrsrq Says:

all of sudden, if the Bucs win this year, all will say it was because #93 has left the building. Good Luck GMC, go play for that ring, we will see you back in about ten year going into the ROH. Like many, maybe not most, the price for this year was too high, Licht has the opportunity to see what he can do with a lil bit of cash. I’m not holding my breath.

  41. Frank Pillow Says:

Geraldini was an above-average-to-good player for us during his tenure…but not quite a great one. Some of that might be injuries, the revolving door at DC and HC and the lack of talent around him during his prime. There were moments where he FLASHED big time, but none when it mattered most (close games/closing out the 4th qtr. i applaud and appreciate his off the field/community work and look back at his time on the gridiron here with great frustration—Once upon a time Gerald and Brian Price were going to be the next great wave of DL…

  42. Anglican Says:

McFraud is gone. FIRE THE CANNONS. About time they took off their blinders and canned his sorry a$$

  43. DBS Says:

That would be to bad. An o line that can’t keep him off Winston. Remeber the excuse used here last year. The Other Team Gets Paid Too.

  44. DanBucsfan Says:

Tough decision obviously, or they would’ve made move sooner when there were more free agents available. I surely would’ve rather seen a restructured deal and lose some other dead weight. However I am a team fan not just the players so imho the sun will rise tomorrow lol. Interesting to find out if in fact their was an offer to stay at a reduced salary. Maybe they should consider moving on from JPP as well ( due to injury of coarse) then we would have plenty of $ for possible trade or a player who gets cut after training camp. Sure would LOVE to see a RG or veteran addition to the secondary. GO BUCS !!!! And thanks #93 for all u did on field as well as in the community.

  45. Buchead588 Says:

What about cutting Gholston to an signing SuH an Wilkerson

  46. SteelStudBuc Says:

Not much class in this fan base

  47. BucsBandit Says:

Hard to believe that even with saving $13M by cutting him that most of that would be instantly used up if they give Winston an extension. Let that sink in for a minute.

Paying Winston $25M to $30M+/year makes it nearly impossible to fix all the holes in this team. He’s as good as gone after this season barring a miracle deep playoff run.

  48. ben Says:

GMC Take Light with you please.. and at least one of you deserves a winning team

  49. ModHairKen Says:

In the end, he would not agree to play in Tampa for less than $13 million so now he’ll play somewhere besides Tampa for less than $13 million. It just goes to show you how selfish he was. He did not love Tampa. He loved himself.

Nice guy. Slightly above-average player for a while. We needed Suh-type mentality and GMC was more like Regis Philbin.

  50. GoBuxFla Says:

Now we can say Dominik was a total loser. In the same draft we picked McCoy, we picked Arrelious Benn OVER Gronk. And now we have a GM from the same mold reaching with every pick.

Good luck GMac, you deserve better than we gave you.

  51. Joe in Michigan Says:

I’m okay with this, wish McCoy the best. I hope we make a trade like we did last year when we acquired JPP. I don’t want Suh, but if he does sign here I’ll get on board with it.

  52. DanBucsfan Says:

And by the way, since this is last time I will comment on GMC. ANYONE WHO THINKS IT WAS HIS FAULT THE BUCS HAVE BEEN IN THE PIT OF MISERY FOR SEVERAL YEARS IS A MORON , and should reevaluate everything they think they know about football. No way in hell a DT can be held responsible for years of sub par football ! ( DRPS THE MIC )

  53. tmaxcon Says:

now we just need the other career losers to get out of town in lvd and dotson. lvd has had one good season under schiano rest below average. by his own admission he can’t recover from bad calls or big plays again self admitted so it’s time to upgrade to a mentally tougher player.

  54. JimmyJack Says:

I doubt this has anything to do with salary CAP. Gerald is gone because of leadership.

Bruce is serious about changing the culture. Dumping the old captain was a necessary move.

Now this team belongs to D.White and a new attitude will be established.

    GO BUCS!!!!

  55. DB55 Says:

Recent events in the Bucs universe within the last week have me feeling as though we might actually be able to turn this thing around. Just need to burn some Sage all over RJS

  56. spicoli Says:

Thanks for all you did for the Tampa Bay community and your play. Best wishes Gerald!

  57. SteelStudBuc Says:

Hey the guys gone… gotta kick him while he’s down? I know you may not have wanted him on the team… that’s fine… the level of maturity and class of some of y’all is pretty sad.

  58. tmaxcon Says:

    just heard from POTUS

MAKE BUCS GREAT AGAIN! GET RID OF ONE SOFTIE AT A TIME!!!!

  59. tmaxcon Says:

cancer93 nuthuggers what are you going to do with all the excuses you have saved up????? team was instantly better…. free agents will no longer regress having to play next to the crying clown. glorious day bucfans… the needle is pointing up.

  60. JimmyJack Says:

DanBucs…….Captains are responsible for the players around them. Like it or not that’s exactly what being a captain means.

  61. BucThat Says:

Yay. Perhaps we’ll get a compensatory pick and draft another kicker. This team can’t get out of its own way.

  62. OneBuc55 Says:

    This fanbase is pathetic…

Thanks for your hard work McCoy but it was time to move on…happens to the best of of’em…see: John Lynch, Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks…It’s business, never personal…

  63. BucsBall80 Says:

About time. Good luck McCoy. Gohlston, Hargraves,Ryan Smith. No one is safe. Put up or shut up. Weeeeeeedeem out coach. No more Batman styling ice cream driving softies. Dude could care less when they lose. After seeing hes little video I new he would of been a distraction in the locker room and in the media. Hes pride took a blow and they probably told hes axx to stay home and play with your Action Figures. I bet you dont make 13mil. This year Mr.McCoy! I was hopping they where going to make your axx sit on the bench this year. Dancing on the sidelines like a cheerleader.

  64. Steven007 Says:

Gotta think they’re going to go after Suh or Wilkerson pretty hard. Funny how so many of the fans thank the current roster is going to be the opening day roster. BA is no idiot.

  65. Eric y Says:

Lol joe has to put the 21 quarterback hits on there to make his garbage stats look slightly better… let’s not forget the 21 times he was sorry for hitting them

  66. Eric y Says:

Steel stud stop acting like your a saint

  67. Eric y Says:

Danbucsfan GMC sucks … stop kissing his behind

  68. Race to 10 Says:

Licht is not smart he should have traded him to a contender looking to make a playoff push last year but for some reason even though 5-11 was staring him in the face he still looked at the team and thought they would be better with a guy he knew would have this cap hit in 2019. Amateur general manager especially since you didn’t draft the dude.

Now that he’s gone we can stopped getting gashed right up the middle where he always is. Get suh who is more physical

  69. LakeLand Says:

The Bucs stunk for 30+years without GMC. They stunk for 9 years with GMC. They will stink without him. The Bucs just stinks…plain and simple.

  70. SteelStudBuc Says:

Haha Eric I’m just saying… how low can you go? Do we have to resort to childish name calling? There’s some guys on this site with IQ of a 8 year old boy.

  71. BucsBall80 Says:

The Buccaneers just became a better team today. Addition by subtraction. Sorry McCoy ,my bad McCoy.

  72. OneBuc55 Says:

Just a heads up guys, Suh won’t be much cheaper than McCoy…It’s a reason why he’s still available…

  73. tmaxcon Says:

hey bonzi – how do you like them apples!!!!! where are the draft picks you guaranteed???? Where are the teams lining up to pay 15 million??? you are never ever right about anything. thanks for the entertainment.

  74. ATrain Says:

Hey Dan it’s not GMCs play on the field that hurt the Bucs so bad

It’s his lack of Give A Sh!& about WINNING

    GMC killed the lockerroom

Held as a Leader Could careless if the Bucs won and loved being home for the holidays

    Great Players make Highlights
    Great TEAMS win SuperBowls

GMC is a Me Guy not a TEAM guy

    ——————–
Remember when Ali Marpet beat up McIceCream in like his first practice. Lol. I’m not worried

  76. ATrain Says:

Think GMC is a TEAM guy let me know WHY he didn’t restructure

He won’t make more than 6-7 million on a one year deal

By the Way ONLY ON JOE BUCS will you see the QB Hits Stat

That’s like hitting the rim stay in Basketball

    CLOSE NO CIGAR

  77. Pittsshore Says:

It will free up cap to have three kickers now. One for kickoffs, one for extra points and one for field goals. After all, we are owned by a “soccer first” ownership group.

  78. GauisfrakkinBaltar Says:

@ Steel: this type of toxicity exists here because Joe allows it to. Same reason why the same type of vitriol exists over at PR. (and it’s worse over there) Because they allow it to. It is vulgar. It is embarrassing. But it is also the truth.

I wish it wasn’t though. That type of garbage makes the Bucs fan base look like trailer trash and I know it isn’t.

  79. Doug Says:

    Finally!!

  80. DanBucsfan Says:

JimmyJack…… No doubt that captains are responsible for their teammates, but I think more responsible for things like ( keeping focus on effort , game plan execution, being professional on & off field, etc..) I really dont think many “C” are out there squeezing more talent from others. Every team has several “captains” yet it doesn’t mean they are held responsible for TEAM failure. I respect your opinion but we are just not in agreement on this subject. DT is rarely a game changing position, can set the tone I believe but totally affect outcome of the whole game , I am not so sure. Name one DT that has the ability to win or losea game by themselves. Not even the stud from the Rams has that ability. And I would wager that no other 3 technique is ridiculed for team losing like GMC was. Last 5 years he is only DT with atleast 6 sacks each year I think I heard earlier on Nfl network. Imho the Bucs WASTED his best years he was able to give us by not surrounding him with much help on the Dline. Also the Qb play has been pretty bad since he was drafted and I think Qb is far more responsible for teams outcome. But I will say that it seemed as his production didn’t equal his salary. Debate on gentlemen ! Good night

  81. tmaxcon Says:

    DB55

I wonder if Hawaiian is making his way towards the skyway. what a glorious day. so much hope now. so much to be optimistic about!!!!

  82. tmaxcon Says:

bucs never wasted cancer93’s best years that is total bs…. every free agent, draft pick or udfa that came to this defense regressed while playing with cancer93… not to mention all the coaches and cordinators with prevous success failed to build a team around him. stop giving her a free pass. cancer93 was the problem not everyone else. true stars make those around them better just go back and look at sapp carrying all those backups you call legends…

  83. richbucsfan Says:

Those of us with a little age remember when 55 was cut loose. THAT was hard to take.

  84. Lubby Smith Says:

    Incredible news!

The cloud of shame and embarrassment he brought upon this franchise has been lifted.

  85. CW Says:

Long time reader. First time chiming in.

    I’m going to miss GMC.

I only wish him the best, cause he always gave us fans the best he had to give.

We have watched him battle against the hardest men on earth for years on end and he has always remained the same man that he was at the beginning…

He is a good man that worked is tail off and did everything he could.

Anyone that cannot respect that is not worth listening to.

That being said, I’m a die hard bucs fan and I believe there is a vision for the future! I can’t wait to see it!

    Go Bucs!

  86. Barack's Crack Pipe Says:

    Legacy:

Dancing the do-si-do on the sidelines with Kwon, celebrating after the only defensive stop of the game–while the team was still losing.

A slightly awkward shout-out to Kwon, exclaiming how much fun he has playing football with him. (What’s up between these two?)

“Sorry! Sorry Ben! My bad!” on a play that actually looked legitimate, and may have never drawn a penalty if he hadn’t called himself out right in front of the referee.

  87. Barack's Crack Pipe Says:

Oh, I forgot the legacy of playing running downs the same way he plays passing downs, and using his quick first step to blow himself clear out of the running lane that he was responsible for plugging.

  88. tmaxcon Says:

now the bucs have hope so maybe some of you low standard bucfans can let go of the failed past and let the washed up has beens go…. first time in nearly 2 decades this team has hope… BA and his staff just won the freaking lottery not having to deal with the distraction that is the soft crying clown! It’s good to finally feel hope! damn joe I’d buy you a lap dance to ease the pain but I hear your PC now… your hero is finally gone. please accept my condolences

  89. Pete Mitchell Says:

I guess the proof will be in the pudding.

If the Bucs tear it up this year, especiallly on defense, GMC haters will be justified (and rightly so).

I’m not so sure he’s washed up, it’s going to suck to see him in a Saints or Falcons jersey. Maybe that way he won’t have to uproot his family. Plus, with his superhero nonsense, you know he’s die-ing to play the villain.

  90. DBS Says:

No. That cloud is lifted when the team liar leaves town for good.

Those of us with a little age remember when 55 was cut loose. THAT was hard to take.

55 should not have hung on so damn long and he would not have had to be let go that way. he was washed up for years. without sapp in front of him he was nothing special and never won a meaningful game without sapp driving the train….

  92. D-Rome Says:

There is so much I want to say and can say but I’m going to leave it for another day. Unintentional rhyme. The Bucs are not better without Gerald McCoy. Even if they signed Suh, the team is not better. GMC was the better DT.

GMC was never Warren Sapp and many fans around here hated him for that. The team failed Gerald McCoy year after year after year. I hate for things to end this way but he will be in the Ring of Honor one day. Again, unintentional rhyme.

  93. Buc4evr Says:

GMC will have a lot of success with a winning program. His best days as a player were wasted with the Bucs. The real tragedy is the guy who screwed the cap up, made bad personnel decisions, and contributed to a losing culture is still here. If anyone thinks that getting rid of GMC is going to make this team stronger, you are going to have a rude awakening this season.

  94. Jean Lafitte Says:

His replacement will be easier than JPP’s. Thanks for the memories.

  95. Dapostman Says:

Some players who never played in a playoff game.

    Joe Thomas, Cleveland T
    Dick Butkis, Chicago MLB
    Floyd Little, Denver RB
    Gale Sayers, Chicago RB

3 HOFers and one who will be a first ballot HOF. Blaming GMC for the Bucs failures is totally moronic. You clowns who claim GMC is a cancer and soft is why the Bucs have lost all his years are retarded. Well what about Butkis? Was he soft?

    #stillthestupidestfanbaseintheNFL

  96. Tony LA Says:

    “For it falls out
That what we have we prize not to the worth
Whiles we enjoy it, but being lacked and lost,
Why, then we rack the value, then we find
The virtue that possession would not show us
    While it was ours.”

    -William Shakespeare

  97. Bucsfan1988 Says:

Tmax, I haven’t given up on LVD yet. I think Bowles will put him in position to make plays like Schiano did.
He & White are gonna Beast out this year!!

  98. Barack's Crack Pipe Says:

It gets old hearing people pushing for GMC in the Ring of Honor. That honor’ should be reserved for Buccaneers who were exceptional football players and leaders on the field. It is not to immortalize anyone for “being good in the community.” We’ve had hundreds of Bucs over the years who were good in the community.

Ring of Honor should also be something that everyone easily agrees on. If someone is so controversial that at least half of the fan base disagrees with you, then you are probably backing the wrong candidate. And quit saying it’s just because everyone compares him to Sapp. That may have been true for one or two seasons. 10 years later, half the Bucs fans never even saw Sapp play. I don’t even like Sapp the person, and he didn’t do spit in the community he didn’t feel like doing, but he earned his name in the Ring on the field, just like the other REAL team leaders on that wall. You wanna give GMC an award for community service, talk to the Mayor. That’s not what the Ring is for.

On second thought, maybe everyone inducted to the Ring should be compared to Sapp.

  99. MadMax Says:

Not surprised…..now send Gholston with him and lets go get Williams….he already knows Bowles system.

  100. Barack's Crack Pipe Says:

Everybody who is a good man, works hard, and does everything they can, does not get automatic indoctrination and acceptance. Those are actually things that we should ask of EVERY player on the team.

GMC was looked to for leadership because he was the highest-paid guy on the defense. That is exactly a wrong reason to automatically expect leadership. Since nobody else on this defense ever stood forward to take a bigger leadership role, it fell to him by default. This is Licht-weight’s fault for never recruiting team leaders to play on our defense, and another reason he should have been fired. Arians just changed that with one draft. A number of guys he drafted are team leaders because that’s what he targeted.

  109. BigHog Says:

This much worse than “for no good reason”!!

  110. Mike10 Says:

I felt worse about Kwon’s departure.

  111. RODNEY ALLEN Says:

I said the apology thing as a joke but come on ppl all hes done for us n y’all act like him sayin sorry to Ben for a late hit is why we lost all them games. It ain’t even why we lost that game we lost for all these years cuz of poor coaching poor players n poor leadership. Maybe GMC isnt the leader u all wanted him to be but he was a d@mn good player. Just stop besides u got what u want. I’m looking at u tmax

  112. Buczilla Says:

Couldn’t we at least have gotten a bottle of warm Gatorade in return? I’ve seen plenty of former very good players taken a pay cut to stay with their teams once their skills had diminished. Hopefully he signs in our division so Marpet can steam roll his @$$ twice a year. 😄 At least we have some money to play with now. If we put this dude in the ring of honor I am going to puke.

  113. stvcl Says:

Woke up to some good news. Hallelujah!

  114. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Sad to see a great player go but we can better spend 13 Mil. Too many players who are past their prime believe their entitled to the payout of their entire contract. No – they’re only entitled to their guaranteed portion. The rest they have to prove they are still worth the payout.

  115. JL Says:

Sorry to burst your bubble Alabamabucsfan: McCoy is not a great player, he’s a good player, but not great!

  116. Reach87 Says:

Best wishes to a man who did nothing but work hard, gain the respect of his fellow professionals and represent the community well. Adios amigo. Go Bucs!

  117. SenileSenior Says:

    Welcome CW!

This site needs positive fans to chime in a bit more often. The nattering negativists do so early and often. They often SHOUT the loudest. The result is the overall impression that the majority of Buccaneer fans are losers also.

Many abstain because commenting later can feel like being the fourth person using the same bath water. Eew! DX

    Go Bucs!!!

  118. Bobby M. Says:

Another player that should have been traded last year…..instead we get nothing for him. Our GM is awful.

  119. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

“true stars make those around them better just go back and look at sapp carrying all those backups you call legends…”

“Semi retired and living between two great cities”

I’m beginning to think that TMAXCON is WARREN SAPP!

It’s all starting to make sense now.

  120. The Buc Realist Says:

Its a shame, that the sheep always figure it out, a year to late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its the much requested “Realist Repost”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trade GMC for picks!!!! Don’t need the phony captain crying about playing out of position in a 3-4 holding the whole defense back!!!!!!!!!

    Draft
    1st Mount Vea
    2nd Harold Landry

If the Bucs commit fully to switching to a 3-4 front defense, then the “real” fans will give this regime 2 years to get the roster and scheme installed!!!!!! 2 year extension to all coaches!!!!!!

Make the best choice and switch to the 3-4!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!

  121. tmaxcon Says:

You mentioned the meaningless crap why not bring up the facts…. not a single meaningful win in her career, captained more blowouts than any other player in bucs history, quit on 4 regimes, woe is me press conferences every offseason, she made every player around her regress, great first to nowhere or nearest camera but rarely every a meaningful play….

  122. BucsminsterFuller Says:

    21 QB hits?
    Why is this a stat?
It’s not a tackle or a sack, what is it?
Does the QB still get the pass off?

  123. Siege the Bay Says:

He’s done more for this team than anyone in the comment section. I wish him well. He deserves to be on a playoff contender. Also Licht could’ve done this months ago when there were good free agents available. Licht really is a bad GM.

  124. T REX Says:

Look at all the classless comments. Pathetic. This town lost a great player and great community guy. When we go 6-10 again…we’ll see who is laughing.

Gerald knew he wasn’t getting $13 mill this season. It’s an indictment on Light and Co that they couldn’t get him to renegotiate. That tells you all you need to know about a garbage GM that has no money and a lot of losses.

  125. Louis Says:

Hey Joe, what are the odds that tmax trolls gmc’s new teams website as well, casting his disparaging negativity towards McCoy?

  126. BucsminsterFuller Says:

T Rex if we go 6-10 again it’ll prove that GMC doesn’t make a difference.

No it won’t…there’s 11 guys on defense not one. Classless goobers. We don’t deserve a winner. Licht put together garbage. LOL.

  128. BucsminsterFuller Says:

Trex, if he is gone and we are no better or worse than 6-10 it just show he would have made no difference at all.
