  1. Evan Says:

Kind of iffy on this pick so high. Even though a few rookie linebackers had great years last year, I feel like we need to address D-Line. Obviously, if we can get one of the top 3 that would be ideal, but I like Ed Oliver more than picking Devin White.

I don’t HATE drafting White, though. He will probably be a great player, just not the best use of a premium pick.

  2. zwh_99 Says:

Wouldn’t mind getting devin white in a trade down scenario, but not at 5.

  3. Billy_43 Says:

Charley Casserly did a Mock Draft today with us taking White and Q was still on the board. He goes to the Giants at 6.

I absolutely LOVE White but not at the expense of passing on Q.
That would be the dumbest thing this Franchise has ever done and that list is LOOOOOONG!

  4. Nathen Says:

Licht has shown he is competent at drafting LB in late rounds so why waste a premium pick?

  5. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

“Will you be happy or pleased”

    “Yes or No”

… that doesnt really make sense lol

  6. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

lol nvm ignore me. Still working on my first cup of coffee and read that as, will you be happy or displeased.

  7. Bucsdelight Says:

    Don’t see a poll

  8. Bucsdelight Says:

nvm, opened in IE and it worked. Firefox doesn’t

  9. Bucsdelight Says:

I’ve already posted why he isn’t a top 5 pick.

  10. bucsfaninchina Says:

haha not quite working out the way the Joes hoped. ??? Joe has zero hopes when running a poll. Joe is not a political party. –Joe

  11. Anonymous Says:

White would be that perfect player we need

  12. AlteredEgo Says:

Has there ever been a Jameis poll ? Sure. –Joe

  13. Tampabucfan88 Says:

I’m not sure I gotta see who’s available if the big three not there (bosa, Allen, Williams) and they take a chance and trade down stolck up on some picks and sweat not there I can be happy with the pick but if the pick white with one of the big three on the broad or sweat is there and they pick white I’ll be pissed but I’ll still root for the team

  14. EvolvingBucsFan Says:

16 days till the draft……..we will find out!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!

  15. Steve from Oregon Says:

I wonder what the percentages would be if White hadnt been so devalued by some on this site?

Either way….just draft a good player regardless of position.

  16. 813bucboi Says:

ed oliver all day and twice on sunday….

LB was the strength of the team for the past 3years up until now….and how many 1st round picks did we have in that unit?…..

on the flip side, dline has been one of our weaknesses the past 3years…..gotta stock pile the dline…..

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  17. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Should have added a “Don’t Care” option.

Because I don’t care who they draft, so long as it is a great player.

  18. Lord Cornelius Says:

    I put “I don’t know”

If we pick him he basically better make the pro bowl immediately / challenge for All-Pro status and be an obvious catalyst to the defense turning things around.

I’m ok with him at 5 if that’s the result. I’m OK with any player at 5 if they are a that true blue chip stud immediately.

I just don’t know he’s a lock for that and the missed tackles/lack of complete footbal insincts scares me

  19. Pryda...Sec 147 Says:

DLine damnit it’s not that hard guys

  20. Pryda...Sec 147 Says:

813 I’m with you Ed Oliver alll day unless Williams,Bosa, Allen fall to us.

  21. Brian Harris Says:

    QB with the 5th pick

  22. The Buc Realist Says:

The first round pick will be the D-line/pass rusher!!!!!!! But I said that almost a year ago when the sheep were saying that light “did his job”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RB in the second!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. SCBucsFan Says:

Pretty sure I know how Joe votes on this as a tiebreaker

  24. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Grab a DL that may not play immediately and definitely will not make much pf an impact in 2019 or go get D White who will start from Day 1 and in a few years will be the top pick in this draft, you dont pass on a ray lewis type player, bucs D will be killer with that type of guy

  25. Brandon Says:

Wish we knew what the status of Beckwith was. If they draft White, then we know Beckwith probably isn’t ready to play now or ever depending on the severity of his injured ankle. If Beckwith is gonna be ready to play by training camp, you have to go either edge or DL.

  26. Joeypoppems Says:

Devin White is worth the 5th pick imo. He wouldnt be my 1st choice but he is on the list of guys i would like. I voted yes.

  27. @Hands2theFace Says:

Not sure it’s going to matter. I think White gets taken by the Raiders at number 4.

  28. BlogTalkFootball.com Says:

I would be happy with the pick, but that doesn’t mean that is who I want the Bucs to pick at 5. I would rather Allen, Williams or Oliver over White. But didn’t everyone say we were getting a CB/Safety last year?

  29. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Any poll that has the yes & no answers even on an individual player is remarkable……especially if that player isn’t a consensus top 3 player.

Keep in mind….that yes vote is against the entire field of draft prospects.

  30. Buccernutter Says:

So if the draft goes Williams bosa Allen Oliver, then half our fan base would be annoyed if we took white?

LMAO. Dumbest fan base in sports. Sure fire linebacker or a third ranked de or dt.

Look what you’re facilitating to this fan base, Joe. Look Man I respect your IQ and opinion but belittling his value to the pt where half the readers are going to be upset if we draft the best mlb in the draft and possibly the best in how long is ridiculous.

Everyone assumes we’re gonna have our choice of elite d ends and tackles. Na dude zona may even be smoking us with Murray.

I’m sorry but an elite mlb (which he has the potential to do) is a lot more valuable than you’ve been suggesting.

It’s Williams bosa Allen white Oliver for me. We’ll land one but I definitely won’t upset if it’s white like half the idiots you manipulated.

  31. Plex Says:

Look at what vanderesch did for Dallas. IJS if we got confidence in vital vea our LB need > Dline. If nassib plays like last year then were set with jpp nassib and vea. Then we got LD and a new LB that can get after the passer.

  32. Tony the Brit Says:

Williams or Oliver Williams or Oliver Williams or Oliver Williams or Oliver repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat enough said.

  33. Buccernutter Says:

But I’m willing to bet our pick loves horses.

Seriously white and Oliver love some horses.

  34. 813bucboi Says:

    realist

even BA said bucs got talent…licht may not have done a perfect job, but he’s done a decent job…..

your coaching staff failed to do their job…..thats why players havent developed and the staff got canned….

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  35. Buccernutter Says:

    Realist does know nothing.

The 2019 season will unveil common sense answers to realist that die hard fans already know.

  36. Buc1987 Says:

    Yes.

  37. Bucsdelight Says:

Here are the TOP graded prospects for the NFL draft:

    1. Quinnen williams – 6.70 – DT

    2. Jeffery simmons – 6.67 – DT

    3. Josh allen – 6.66 – EDGE

    4. Nick bosa – 6.55 – DE

    5. T.J. hockenson – 6.35 – TE

    6. Montez sweat – 6.34 – EDGE

    7. Rashan gary – 6.31 – DE

    8. D.K. metcalf – 6.30 – WR

    9. Ed oliver – 6.26 – DT

    10. Kyler murray – 6.25 – QB

Notice, Devin White is not graded in the Top 10.

  38. Shayno Says:

An insdier linebacker in the top 5 will be the nail in Lichts coffin. Even if he turns out to be a pro bowler. Don’t get too cute. Go D Line.

Take Cashman in the 3rd better in coverage anyway

  39. BobBuc Says:

The poll should reflect Joe’s numerous posts and read:

“The Bucs are Idiots if They Draft White Under Any Circumstance”

I’d rather have Bosa, Allen or Williams but if they’re gone, I can live with White.

Oh and Bucsdelight, See: Logical Fallacy/Argument from Authority. If God set that top ten I see your point, otherwise, it’s just another shmoe’s opinion.

  40. wausa Says:

I would want Ed Oliver before anyone with the exception of Allen and Bosa.

  41. Bucsdelight Says:

BobBuc, therefore, your opinion is White and mine is not. There are better players than White that will be available. While I think the #2 Edge or #3 DT is better than the #1 MLB. My value is different. To say that Joe has changed everyone’s mind based on a few articles, is ridiculous. Joe posts love articles about Jameis all the time. Yet, majority of the fans don’t like Jameis.

  42. Rod Munch Says:

I’d have no issue with the pick so long as he pans out. I mean if you’re literally getting a year in, year out pro-bowler, who can once in a while be an all-pro, and he’s a day 1 starter, then why would people be against it? Yes, you could pick a DE or DT that takes 2 years to develop, and is like a 50/50 chance to bust, sure, they might end up being good, but the hype on White is he’s the man from day one. If that’s true, then go the safe route. When LB’s are getting $15m/year then, then DE’s really aren’t all that much more expensive to get in FA, so just go find somewhere there if need be.

But all of this means the Bucs still don’t have two starting corners, and that is a huge worry.

  43. Doctor_berto Says:

Doesn’t matter, Bucs aren’t taking a MLB at 5…I hope.

  44. Buc'n Enough of Says:

Trade he 5th pick for a GM

  45. GhostofSchiano Says:

    FIX THE TRENCHES

  46. pepsi Says:

    Where’s the “Hell No” option?

  47. pepsi Says:

@Bucsdelight – the fact that Metcalf is in that 10 just immediately voids the entire ranking.. That just mean that ranking system almost completely ignores production in favor for physical traits. and Oliver behind Gary and Sweat? C’mon.. throw that list in the trash

  48. Tony the Brit Says:

Look at it this way if you take white at 5 your front 3 will be Vea Beau Allen and Gholston anybody frightened. GMC is gone whichever way you look at it.He still has something to give but not at 13 mil. If you trade back it would still have to be DT/DE. White is just bait either for a trade back our for picks 1-4 to fall in love with. MLB does not have the same positional value as DT /DE or 3-4 OLB .White is a very good MLB but not worth the 5th pick to the Bucs. If we don’t fix the trenches then next year we will still need to do it and find a new QB.

  49. Clw JB Says:

Can’t make that call, have to see how it unfolds in front of us to know

If my 3 are gone, yes I am happy to take him

If Allen, Bosa, or Williams is also there and they take him, no I am not happy

  50. Bucsdelight Says:

That’s their draft grade. That’s what they were rated at by the NFL. Sorry you don’t like it.

  51. Brandon Says:

You don’t pass on elite edge talent, or even trench talent, for an ILB… ever.

Bucdelight… that’s not their grade that teams go by…. that is the grade given to them by one person and is completely meaningless to all 32 teams in the NFL…. and the NFL itself. The NFL does not personally grade players, their writers do.

  52. Bucsdelight Says:

If you don’t think scouts are looking at their performance and grades, you’re crazy. haha. Notice all the top talent in the draft are all right there. Nobody outside those top 10 will be drafted in the Top 5. Unless Bucs are stupid and take White.

  53. Bucsdelight Says:

I would laugh so hard if 49ers take White and pair him with Kwon.
