Jameis: It’s A Different Form Of Energy

February 5th, 2019

Jameis talks about rah-rah Jameis and one of his 2018 failures

Revealing stuff from America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

We’ve all seen rah-rah Jameis, the guy Warrick Dunn wants to leave the country. Jameis is well known for that, so it’s no surprise Jameis was asked recently on SiriusXM NFL Radio whether he’s going to ditch that personna and “think more about staying focused” on winning.

Rah-rah Jameis will continue, Jameis explained, but you might not see him.

“I scaled back on that as far as like the public spotlight of getting the guys around in a circle, but I still do my thing in the locker room,” Jameis said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “It’s a different form of energy where you’re screaming at the top of your lungs with a group of men that surround you in a stadium with everybody talking and the music blasting, than you having a collective conversation getting your guys ready in the locker room. I think that’s just me. That’s part of my game. That’s one thing I kind of left from at the beginning of the year. I wasn’t playing my game. I was trying to fit into somebody else’s shoes and I can’t do that, man. I can’t play football like that. I’ve been playing football for a long time now. So I gotta play like I play.”

Telling stuff right there: Jameis admitting he wasn’t playing his game and was trying to be Ryan Fitzpatrick. He’s said that before but this was more direct — and certainly sounded that way with his tone.

As for rah-rah Jameis, well, Joe likes that guy. Enough with the theories that Jameis playing cheerleader before games is somehow affecting his play or reveals an immaturity that leads to losing. Baloney!

    Just win

Don’t care if if he’s a cheerleader or stoic just play well enough for this team to win. Stop making bad decisions and start playing consistently well enough to be considered a franchise qb

  2. Rob Says:

Ball security is what Rah Rah needs to focus on. Rah Rah has all the physical tools to be a franchise qb but not knowing when to throw the ball away or take a sack or throw it to the cheap seats is paramount to lead the Bucs to the playoffs. Listen to Bruce Rah Rah or you are out. Go Bucs!

  3. Darin Says:

The funny thing is the QB position here is the least of the worries yet he gets the backlash almost as much as gmc. Play some defense and run the ball with success and go ahead n print out the playoff tickets. There are teams out there who really have qb issues. Theyd all take Jameis. As long as he keeps maturing its all good. Get some nasty Olinemen and play aggressive defense. Then the play action will actually have an affect too. What a concept klueless

  4. Doc Says:

Rob i like that nick name ‘Rah Rah” for Winston.

    For 87

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I’ll say it clear
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain
    I’ve lived a life that’s full
I’ve traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
    I did it my way
    Regrets, I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
    I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
    I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
    And did it my way

  6. JP_09 Says:

I still believe Koeters biggest mistake (other than retaining mike smith) wasn’t naming Winston the week four starter immediately after hearing news of the suspension.

  7. ben Says:

JOE …Doesn’t Fitz has a better completion % then Winston ??.

  8. SB Says:

The one thing we can all agree on is that it is “put up or get out” for JW3 this yr.

  9. BucFan3 Says:

Bring the passion and real Jameis. That’s the one I watched lift that national trophy. Famous Jameis is back!

  10. BucHead5588 Says:

Honestly Jameis has played well enough to win it’s the Defense that hasn’t lived up to expectations an hasn’t helped Jameis fact at all

  11. SB Says:

7423 in numerical code = Dolt.

  12. Defense Rules Says:

@Joe … “As for rah-rah Jameis, well, Joe likes that guy. Enough with the theories that Jameis playing cheerleader before games is somehow affecting his play or reveals an immaturity that leads to losing. Baloney!”

Ya Joe, the finger-lickin good ‘eating W’s’ rah-rah act went over so well with his teammates. The looks on all their faces said whatdahellwasdat?

JP_09 … Remember how badly we got beaten up by the Bears in that 4th game? (As in 48-10?) It was called a good old-fashioned ass whoopin. Do you really think that Jameis would’ve been ready to start that game with 1 live & 1 walkthrough practice? Koetter did Jameis a favor IMO by not throwing him to the wolves. No wait, make that the Bears.

  13. Bird Says:

Joe did comment that he thought the W eating speech was really cool!

    😂

  14. Joe Blow Says:

Yea cuz sucking on your fingers will really get the guys fired up, the team responded much better when Fitz was the guy. Pass blocking was even better

  15. Issaic haggins Says:

Very very telling comment from Jameis about Byron being his coordinator and understanding him !!!

I fear this is in defense of himself and trying to play victim again !!! Jameis I like your game but you clearly still are looking for an excuse for your actions , your not the victim !!!

Let’s be clear everyone around you is a victim of your actions !!! The whole organization this year , the fans , players, owners , the driver, your wife !!! You don’t need to be understood you need to understand , Your Not The Victim !!! Quit looking for an excuse and permission to repeat being an absolute idiot !!! Please wake up ,Byron doesn’t need to give you leeway or as you say understand you !! You have acted a fool, an idiot a child and the list goes on . You truly are now after that comment on your last NFL leg !!! I bet the Glazers just went oh Sht he ain’t learned himself !!! You have let down so so many people and coaches and just can’t check that chip and ego !!! Hey Maybe I’m Wrong , I Hope I Am Wrong !!!

Or “Ray Ray.” Or “Cray Cray.”

**Hide your kids, Hide your wife*

I am in a weird mood.

  17. AleteredEgo Says:

Round and round and round he goes….where he stops nobody knows….Oh boy !…the most NFL ready QB and 1st overall player taken…is finally ready to show us who he really is….SMH

  18. Dave Says:

Here is the problem with many of you. Some of you like rah rah James, some of you don’t. Some of you don’t care that McCoy has fun, some of you get pissed off by it because you think he needs to be a raging ass.

    It
    Does
    Not
    Matter

Every player is different. They get pumped up for a game in their own way, not the way you, sitting at home on your couch, think they should.

Every player who has been here has flocked to Jameis, they like Jameis, he’s a born leader and they follow him, even vets.
The only one I know that seems to have ever had a problem is DJax and that’s because he was horrible at hitting him on the deep ball.

  19. Jim Says:

Is the Rah Rah the one with the 21-33 record? Just wondering…

  20. Dwe Says:

Funny in a way when he says I’ve been playing all my life. He’s 25 and if he wants to play until he’s 37, that’s 12 years. 12 years ago he was 13. That’s like me saying that at 13 I knew all about relationships, investments, managing money and raising children. You continue to mature and grow. Let’s hope he can.

  21. jerseybuc Says:

It is forced. It is what he thinks a leader should do. These young players have so many handlers around them, he is doing what someone put in his head sometime in the past.
Be yourself 3. Let’s hope it is good enough, and that Bucco Bruce can help you improve.

  22. Rod Munch Says:

A lot of dullards like their sports players to never say anything that isn’t boring, and they don’t like that screaming and yelling, and you know sports is fun and all but safety first, and why can’t all the players just get along… Yuck. Everything that is wrong with modern day sports is TV networks marketing to women and men buying that marketing as being for them. I think Alex Jones was right when he said they’re putting estrogen in the water. Luckily I never drink water, so I’m one of the few men remaining.

  23. Lamarcus Says:

JW rah rah was fun and promoted toughness. Jw knew his team was garbage and needed some fire some kinda uplifting which lead to eating Ws disaster. Clearly we need a tough Superbowl defense and excellent run game is how you win in league. No such thing as a passing league Qbs win championships. Defense wins championships so get JW some help

  24. BrianBucs Says:

Glad to see that Winston is now entering the NFL and leaving Pop Warner

  25. Buc1987 Says:

Brian…but according to you he should have already screwed up off the field by now. Wiping him from the roster. He was going to do his own self in by now.

You told the “haters” that they had nothing to worry about…..

    He’s still here Brian.

As far as anyone that thinks Jameis being rah rah is fake and forced. Well I guess that’s a matter of opinion…from most likely a “hater”. There’s NOTHING forced in his personality. Players and peeps in general have always flocked to the kid with his GREAT personality. That’s just what’s been said about him since he was in grade school. Peeps gravitate towards Jameis. That’s from peeps that actually KNOW him. Not from some buffoon posters on JBF.

  26. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

    Thank you
    Dave and 1987…
Apparently ownership, Licht, offensive coordinator and BA.
Want the Jameis they recruited back.
The head coach and OC been watching him longer than the non coaches on this blog.

  27. This is our year!!! Says:

Here’s an interesting thought. Should be good for at least a laugh.

I’m a big McSorely fan (from Penn State). We get Arians coming in for a couple years, we have Jameis (former #1 pick), and Todd Bowles taking over after Arians (presumptive).

Let’s say we draft McSorely in the sixth round. History repeating itself baby!!!

Parcells with Bledsoe, Belichick taking over Brady coming in. We are going to win 8 Super Bowls over the next 10 years!!! The dynasty is here in Bucland baby!!

  28. Larry Williams Says:

Bucs should go after Nick Foles better overall…

  29. cmurda Says:

“Luckily I never drink water”. Hahahaha. Well shoot, as long as coffee is estrogen free, I’m good too.

  30. BrianBucs Says:

    1987

You know what they say about the one who has the last laugh……..

  31. BrianBucs Says:

    Larry Williams

    They aren’t that smart

Here. Have a nice cup of soybean tea!

  33. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Foles would have gotten killed last season on this team. Fitz and Jameis have mobility to avoid the inevitable defenders in the backfield. Foles would be Glennon 2.0. Sorry bri guy and smallaxe but Foles ain’t happening, no great white hope for you guys.

  34. Mike Says:

I personally didn’t mind the eating w’s- all of the national talking heads, ex players, current players and media who wanna talk smack can go f themselves

    Do your thing Jaboo!

  35. FairMinded Says:

“I gotta play like I play” better not include bone headed turnovers. Big Jameis fan but one of the positives last year was him learning to play calmer and more in control in certain situations and cutting his losses. He needed to pattern Fitz in that way. Hope he doesn’t just throw that growth aside completely and backslide.

  36. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

America’s Rah Rah…..sheesh….we all saw his teammates roll their eyes when he pulled the juvenile crapola. Now, they’ll just roll their eyes in the locker room. Yeah, Winston, just keep on being Winston. How’s that working out for ya?

  37. BucsFIRE Says:

    PERFECT mindset, JW. Good stuff.

  38. BucsFIRE Says:

Your problem, Brian, is that you are rooting for him to fail.

    Why?

  39. quickdrw21 Says:

Here’s why we are a crappy team and organization. We are dis functional at every level. I mean look at this right here. We are sitting here in year 5. Year 5 folks still discussing weather or not Winston is a winning qb. Meanwhile other teams have drafted and developed young players and some have gone to the super bowl all while we sit here and try to figure out if Winston will ever change. Here’s a clue people. He won’t. He is who he is and if it takes 6 years for us to realize that we’ll then that’s on us.

  40. BucNole Says:

Face it – that’s just JW
He has always had a big personality – As long as he doesn’t go over the cliff again (eating Ws) just let the kid settle in and be who he is.
Its a game – its supposed to be fun
    GO BUCS!

  41. Buccernutter Says:

    Quick

Bruce arians disagrees with you. You should teach him the deal because he seems to believe he can be an elite QB. Wow man, Bruce really doesn’t know as much as the GMs in here.

  42. miken Says:

Jameis: I was trying to be Fitz…. a career back up qb.
Goodness. If anyone can save him, its BA.

  43. RustyRhinos Says:

Loyaltotheend, with the first response you are on the money. My thoughts as well. Win.

Hey, America’s QB, Jameis Winston, Our Buccaneers “franchise ” QB
Please do not talk about what you will do.
Show us with what you are doing & have done.
With WINS! As a fan that is all I am asking for. WINS! Not rah RAH talk. Wins.
Still “waiting for it” it’s year Five.
    Go Bucs!
