Why Jobs Are In Jeopardy

December 9th, 2018

One reason why seat ablaze.

Joe isn’t stepping out on a limb to suggest after the Bucs blew a 14-3 halftime lead today and got totally shut down in the second half in a 28-14 loss to the Saints, that several jobs are now in peril.

All the ugly warts this team has stuck out today. No end in sight for the kicking circus after five years, no running attack at all, inconsistent offensive line play, talent wide receivers vanishing in the second half.

It all bubbled to the surface.

The Bucs tied a franchise record for most touchdown passes in a season with 31 when America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, hit Cam Brate in the back of the end zone in the second quarter for a 14-3 lead.

And there are still three games to play. Yet despite setting this record, too often the team is getting rolled. Further, the Bucs are now 5-8.

So how in the hell can a team set offensive team records, yet cannot put together enough victories for a winning season much less a playoff berth?

That, right there, is one reason why there likely will be a housecleaning of some sort in three weeks.

I wanted Koetter to stay, but I’m sort of glad there is no chance Duffner gets his job.

Because they are not finishers. From top to bottom. They are like paid protesters. Just fake with no heart.

I bet the house this team crumbled after the second miss fg. That is all it takes

It is No Longer about just the good things Jamyth does….it is about all the good things he misses either not seeing…indecision….fear of screwing up…scrambling because of (see the reasons already given)
start watching as I have been his completions …many are to a WR standing flat footed after the WR is clearly open….
Jamyth can not see a play developing and make the throw…he waits until it is open ….STAT geeks …I bet his YAC’s per catch is horrible when compared to the top QB’s that have similar STATS otherwise

  9. JimmyJack Says:

We get into a big game and we choke.

Saints came out in the 2nd with intensity we couldnt match. Their passrush took over and we had no answers. It was quite pathetic TBH. It’s all mentality IMO and starts at the top.

    Draft Futility | Rounds 1 through 3:

    2014
    Rd 2: ASJ – BUST
Rd 3: C. Simms – Part time role player at best
**2 of 6 total picks still on roster (Evans & Simms/IR)

    2015
Rd 1: Winston – #1 pick, still a question mark in year 4 (not all his fault)
Rd 2: D. Smith – Lazy, no fire, inconsistent
Rd 2: A. Marpet – Top Guard in the NFL?
**4 of 7 picks still on roster (including Kwon who also has question marks)

    2016
Rd 1: Hargreaves – Giant question mark
    Rd 2: N. Spence – BUST
Rd 2: Aguayo – Possibly the worst pick ever
**5 of 7 picks still on the roster (includes Benenoch who should be arrested)

    2017
Rd 2: J. Evans – Question mark, defense isn’t missing him
**4 of 6 picks still on roster

    2018
    Rd 1: Vea – Meh…
    Rd 2: R.Jones II – BUST
Rd 2: MJ Stewart – Nope
    Rd 3: A. Cappa – Can’t beat out Benenoch

    5 Draft Classes:
    Picks in Premium Rounds (1 – 3): 18
    Total Picks: 34
Decent Picks: 5 (Evans, Winston, Kwon, OJ & Godwin)
Unquestioned Difference Makers: 2 (Evans & OJ)

That’s TWO unquestioned difference makers in FIVE years and 34 draft picks.

    This is why they SUCK!!

    Jason & Dirk must go.

    nope……………..you don’t know football

    and yes, I coached football

    and yes, I coached QBs

You don’t see the top QBs always placing balls high consistently……Jameis does it all the time…..because they have accuracy and touch…..and Jameis is always inconsistent….

    he’s inaccurate…………..and inconsistent

HATE ALL YOU want………but like I said before, I see more in football games than your average fans

😂😂 you can’t make this ish up haha only on JBF

    Lamarcus Says
“I bet the house this team crumbled after the second miss fg. That is all it takes”

Actually, I think it was that and the constant penalties by the offensive line.

And let’s give the Saints credit, they adjusted for the second half and the Bucs were not ready for it.

  13. DBS Says:

Remember this. The last time we were in playoff talks it was the offense that folded like a cheap suit.

  17. AlteredEgo Says:

In Jamyth’s own words..same answer twice…”I’ve got to get the ball out of my hands sooner”…..
    see
All those scrambles….most were because Jamyth still does not..can not SEE the play as it is unfolding (throw on time to the spot)….
Jamyth is waiting until the WR is open and standing still then throws pitch and catch…
Jamyth will never be an elite NFL QB because of those limitations….
    DJax knows this ^^^

  18. Season Is Over Says:

I thought the Winstopolgists had all the answers. We’re waiting.

  19. Tony LA Says:

When you play a 10-2 team – you have to make your kicks. Period.
Evans was too gimpy as well – not having him out there for half the plays really hurt.
The team does miss Djax’ speed to stretch defense for the underneath stuff.

Godwin was god-awful today. His worst game as a pro. He has to make those tough catches against a 10-2 team.

The Bucs had the Saints on the ropes in the first half and couldn’t make it a 3 score lead. That haunted them.

  20. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Season you were quiet today, we did not miss MeJax in the first half did we?
If anything the absence of O.J. Howard has a much much bigger impact than missing your diva man crush.

  21. Zwak Says:

We didn’t make any halftime adjustments and they did! Bad coaching and a very bad O-Line..

  22. Season Is Over Says:

Yes, you are correct. Maybe we need to get Mr. Magoo some more weapons in the offseason.

  23. JimmyJack Says:

Winston played bad. Critism deserved. Why you guys getting emotional about it?

    Accept it and move on.

  24. SOEbuc Says:

No more BS HCs. If you’re gonna bring in a college coach he better be a good coach from a top tier team (Lincoln Riley?). Not Rutgers. Or get a good HC with veteran NFL experience and playoff experience that can put together a staff.

  25. Oxycondoms Says:

There was a reason kotter was never an not head coach in the mean time bucs watched other bright head coaches turn around franchises

  26. Robert Says:

Because you got a qb named jaboo

You can’t make it up. This ain’t high school.

    Crabman……..bwahahahahaha

  27. Oxycondoms Says:

    Never an NFL head coach

  28. Bosch Says:

We all know why they suck so consistently. The owners.

  29. JimmyJack Says:

Winston played bad and the problem is theres a long list of other problem spots aside from QB.

  30. BrianBucs Says:

Licht, Koetter and Winston all need to go.
These changes need to be made.
If you keep on doing what your doing, you keep on getting what you’re getting

  31. JimmyJack Says:

Robert why dont you buy a ticket to the Falcoln game and sit behind the bench and heckle Winston all game.

Ok how did he play bad? Please explain.

  33. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog he missed a lot of throws. He was put in a lot of bad spots(a lot of 3rd & long) but he can make some of those throws on a good day. Today was not a good day.

  34. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

Paying and keeping Donovan Smith will just be another gut punch to this organization and the fans. Go Bucs.

  35. Ndog Says:

Oh I know it was all those picks he threw, or no it was all the fumbles, or know it was all those sacks he gave up, or no all those blown up plays in the run game, or no all the kicks he missed, or no the punt block he allowed.

Was he wonderful no, but he had several balls dropped and was getting hit every play. If you think he played poorly then you are looking to blame him. Brees threw a pick and fumbled the ball both inside of his own 40 and he had all day but I guess he played great right? If Jameis played the game Brees did you would be killing him.

  36. Tampabaybucfan Says:

How about Ron Rivera….the genius….darling of Carolina “Riverboat Ron”…….started 6-2……now 6-7……don’t you just love it…..if we can’t win….at least we can enjoy the Panthers taking a whipping……

  37. JimmyJack Says:

Rapper don’t be surprised if D.Smith is brought back on a one year deal while they find a replacement.

Hopefully they have him replaced by the end of Training Camp(shouldn’t be too hard for a good HC)

  38. Troy Says:

JimmyJack is 100% right. There’s a laundry list of problems on this team. That’s why they consistently lose. If you think replacing Winston solves our problems, you’ll be wrong. Much more needs to change. This includes the coaching staff, the o-line, the running backs, at least 2 dbs, the dline. Oh, and the kicker again. Plus we need to add depth to this team everywhere. But keep thinking a new qb is going to fix our problems. This is insane.

  39. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog if you think Winston played good in the 2nd half I suggest you rewatch.

I’m not trying to hang the guy just sharing my opinion. I’m not blaming Winston here just responding to some of the overreactions.

Personally I am more upset about our Oline and how they crumbled yet again in a large game…….You can’t expect good QB play with that poor of blocking in front……..The QB play today still is what it is. Poor. That’s just being honest bro.

  40. JimmyJack Says:

Well said Troy…….Once we start fixing these problems the play around them will also improve.

  41. JimmyJack Says:

Fix our Oline and our RBs make more plays. The QB position will also stabilize. It may even lead to better blocking overall and no blocked punts.

  42. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Still glad Desean Jackson isn’t playing.

The offense was not one dimensional…it was just shut down by a good defense. It happens. Still the Number One offense in the NFL last I checked tonight.

To read my reaction and current state of mind, if anyone is interested, click my name. I tried to lay out the pros and cons to Koetter, and the various scenarios that could happen from here on (including firing him tomorrow).

I have been saying for weeks now, here start the solution. This team gives you chest pain….

  44. cw_buc_crazy Says:

Anything other semi-fix with one of them(three) here next year, is going to be patch, not a fix.

  45. TheBucsAnthem Says:

4 years and this is all the Organization has to show for………..

A QB that is inconsistent at best

No one doubts has the talent to succeed

There’s many QBs that had the potential drafted high that never panned out……………….Jameis sure seems to fit that mold

  46. Ndog Says:

Bottom line Jameis played winning football today if his teammates did their job. No blocked punt and two made FG’s we may win, if you throw in any pass protection we win going away.

  47. LUVMYBUCS Says:

O but the Offensive line is good. lol yeah right!

We don’t need to draft an offensive lineman in the 1st round (2018).

    While In other news:

    NFL Rookie of the Month
    • 2018: Quenton Nelson, G (October)

Note: He is the first guard in NFL history and the seventh offensive lineman overall to win Rookie of the Month honors.

  48. JimmyJack Says:

Bonzai……I would like to see some mention about our Oline in your write-up. IMO their Dline beating up our Oline was the biggest factor today.

The rest was a interesting read. Good graphics too.

    Enjoy your depression Monday.

  49. SilverBuc Says:

I can’t wait to see Jameis Winston become the face of the NFL after he escapes this toxic fanbase and laughable franchise

  50. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog. Zero points in the 2nd half is not winning football.

Neiter is giving up 25 in a half.

Nobody on that field today played winning football.

  51. JimmyJack Says:

Bottom line. When you add the word “if” to your comment then it’s debatable.

  52. Dapostman Says:

Idiot Buc fans are still blaming Winston. Drew Brees didn’t have a great day either.

200 yards passing and a int and a LOST fumble. Why did his team win though?

Because he wasn’t under constant pressure in the second half. He was only sacked 1 time. Winston 4 times.

    Because his team didn’t miss 2 FG’s.

Because his team BLOCKED a punt that turned momentum to the Saints.

Winston did everything Brees did today but lost. This was solely on the OL which had played well early and the Special Teams today.

Winston Derangement Syndrome simpletons will not except that FACT!

  53. Season Is Over Says:

Winson played winning football? Lmao. This is the person that calls the fans stupid. Winston had the lead at half 14-3. Then, Brees fumbled and Winston could not capitalize on the turnover. Missed field goal. Then Brees had 3 and out. Winston once again fails to move the ball to seal the game. Blocked field goal and game over. Winning football? A No. 1 overall pick folding with the season on the line. Crumble. Crumble.

  54. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Bonzai. Do you really believe a 5-8 team has the best offense in football? I have a beautiful parcel of land to sell you in the middle of Florida if you do.

So Jameis is the kicker, he plays oline, he blocks on special teams? So yes I call fans like YOU stupid! In your own comment you gave three examples of why you are wrong. OMG how dense can you be?

  56. Season Is Over Says:

You can call me stupid all you want. Everyone reading knows who is rationalizing. Everyone watched the game as Mr. Magoo summed up his entire NFL career in one game of football. A tale of two halves.

  57. JimmyJack Says:

    Dapostman…….Great point about the sacks.

The ones we gave up and took killed us. Don’t know how many quick plays(3 steps) we called in that 2nd half but it wasnt enough. It never seems to be enough whenever we face a great passrush.

We have lost a lot of games like this and I have to question the offensive game plan here?

Watching these type of games just feels like do nothing expect run passing plays deep downfield that take longer to get open and just allows the pasrush to come at us like a neverending swarm.

It’s been this way for so long that you can almost sense the QB lose confidence. Feels like the QB knows he’s going to get bumrushed on every play and he pannicks knowing his is going to be pressured every pass play.

  58. Season Is Over Says:

Bring it, Winstopologists. Surely, you have better than this.

  59. JimmyJack Says:

    Ndog is over emotional

Season is Over is overreacting……..”summed up his whole career”

  60. Mike Johnson Says:

So much for those of You who posted here couple days ago..about the Bucs running the table. They will run the table allright..Only in reverse!

  61. Tampabucfan88 Says:

I’m calling it Ron Rivera will be the Bucs coach 2019 I have spoken

  62. JimmyJack Says:

Mike I was rooting for a playoffrun.

Was on Cloud 9 at halftime too.

Then the 2nd half happened and the Saints woke up and realized they were in a playoff game. They showed us how good we really are.

    Thanks for rubbing it in

  63. Season Is Over Says:

I had a little hope they could run the table. If they got through NO, it would have been likely, imo. Winston finally came on with some solid play. In the end, Winston’s disappearing act in the second half, when it was the most important moment in his NFL career to shine, is simply another layer of icing on the cake of the “Lost Decade”. Some of these fans do not understand the importance of what they are seeing. This team has bred a generation of fans that forget what winning is even about. No one should be surprised when they simply don’t bend over and take it. Anyone seeing the wall of gray in the club seats on television?

  64. Frank Pillow Says:

Where is all of the Donovan Smith love? He was brutal today.

  65. JabooBuc Says:

After thinking about this a bit, all is not lost. First, the team looked good for 10 straight quarters. There can be no doubt that they were the better team for those 10 quarters including today against the Saints.

Which, if you think about it, is no small accomplishment considering that the Saints are probably one of the top 3 teams in the league coming off a long week and a loss. With the defense playing better and getting healthy, this team is competitive with the Saints.

Not excusing the extremely loudly OLine and special teams play which obviously cost this team a victory. It was another game with no TO’s by JW which kept us in front and in control. However, as I’ve said before, missed FG’s are like TO’s and the blocked punt was also obviously a TO which proved to be the difference. The excessive penalties are also drive killers or TO’s.

  66. Troy Says:

If Ron Rivera is the Bucs coach next year, the league should force the Glazers to sell the team for intentionally trying to lose.

  67. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Donovan Smith is another inconsistent player

  68. Ndog Says:

Not over anything except all of these clueless “fans”. I make valid points that no one even tries to refute yet people keep making the same ridiculous claims. You see I have these things called eyes where I actually watch the games and see what happens instead of just blindly blaming one person for everything like a moron. We make our kicks, don’t get a punt blocked and have any running game we win. None of those things have anything to do with the QB.

  69. Troy Says:

Amen Ndog. One player isn’t causing the problems.

  70. Ndog Says:

In the end, Winston’s disappearing act in the second half, when it was the most important moment in his NFL career to shine, is simply another layer of icing on the cake of the “Lost Decade

See this right here is what I’m talking about. How many points did the Saints score in the first half with no running game? That’s right smart guy 3, but Jameis “disappeared” in the second half when we couldn’t run at all? But let me guess Brees is awesome and Jameis sucks right? It is soooooo clear you don’t understand football so go watch my little pony or strawberry shortcake cause maybe that will be something you actually can comprehend.

  71. Mike Johnson Says:

Good Evening fellow Buc fans. Sitting here takin my Sun Night meds (scotch on the rocks)..reviewing the games left. Our Bucs will finish 6-10. We will NOT..beat the Ravens or the CowGirls. But I got us rallying at Ray Jay for Dirks..Farewell.
Here to a great offseason, Better new coaches and GM, and hopefully me being able to afford a better brand of Scotch next year! Honey..pour me..one last one!

  72. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog QBs have bad games. Admit it and move on.

Good teams can find other ways to win. We aren’t a good team.

  73. Ndog Says:

Yes JJ the Bengals was a bad game, today was average but with an actual team around him still a winning effort. The Bengals game he was horrible and lost that game single handily.

  74. JimmyJack Says:

We fell apart today. Of course fans are gonna want a scapegoat.

Mine is Dirk. So fans are gonna pick the QB. Go ask Philly fans about Wentz.

Pick your scapegoat and move on. Unnessary to vilify others for their scapegoat.

  75. JimmyJack Says:

All that matters is that the powers that be at One Buc figure out who truely needs to be replaced on this team.

The bad part is they constantly make the wrong decisions. I have no confidence they will fix this mess.

  76. Season Is Over Says:

The Winstopologists just love to attack the fans. I wonder why that is. Winston failed to capitalize on the mistakes the Saints made coming out of the second half with the Bucs up 14-3. Winston had two opportunities to close out the game at the beginning of the second half. How many more chances did he expect the Saints to give him? Winston could have just gone out and earned it but that is another story.

  77. Troy Says:

I’m drinking my yearly Buc sorrows away wondering why this is so hard to fix. I guess as long as you’re getting paid you don’t feel embarrassed for doing a sh**y job. Only the fans deal with the embarrassment of this team. JPP seems to have some pride. I’m not sure about anyone else, including the staff.

  78. Jeffbuc Says:

I am over it we sick every year. Muse fans get excited about a 2 game win streak to get us back to 5 games under 500. Than we think we might have a chance to do something then these games happen. Fire everybody release everybody. It isn’t working it never works. So start over from scratch where at least us fans know we are going to be awful but are playing for the future. The main problem to me is Licht and the head coach. We never make halftime adjustments and we keep drafting guys that even the talking heads can’t believe we’re drafted that high. We paid an average at best center the most money a center has ever made. It’s like Licht has no clue what offense or defensive scheme we run and drafts and signs a bunch of square pegs to fit in our round peg system. I really don’t care to watch another game and waste a Sunday. Until something changes drastically and not just coaching I’m talking about the product. I won’t be back until the product is better. I love watching the bucs but year after year of false hope has just drained me. I am over it call me a bandwagon fan or whatever you want. I just call it wasting my Sunday. I never thought I would be at this point but year after year same season over and over again. For once have the bucs ready to play in a big time game. This team is so all over the place that it wouldn’t surprise me to beat the ravens and cowboys and then lose to the falcons. And just drop 10 more picks in the draft. And the owners keep the whole staff together for one more year. Expecting a different result next year.

  79. JimmyJack Says:

No Jeff don’t say that about yourself. Your here cause you care. That’s all we need.

Dude, take a break……Go fishing. Ride a jetski whatever. You are entitled to take a break from this embarrassment. I took mine during the Raheem years. If you need your break now take it. I’m still nicely rested from my break. I’ll hold down the fort for ya bro.

Enjoy your break and we’ll be happy when ypu return…..and as always……

    GOO BUCS!!!!!

  80. JimmyJack Says:

But before you go please kindly help us throw this captain overboard.

  81. Kansas95Buc Says:

    ^^🤣

  82. DayOnePaul Says:

What are these halftime adjustments you speak of?

  83. adam from ny Says:

bottom line, and no one is discussing it:

we were playing a step ahead of the saints, and brees was genuinely frustrated…then when santos missed the 2nd field goal, the bubble burst, the team lost steam, and subconsciously all the players heard that little voice in there head saying “not again johnny”…from that point on they were playing a step behind the saints for the rest of the game…that 2nd field goal completely drained this team of what they were building these past 2 and a half weeks…the missed kicks force them to mentally throw in the towel…and their bodies followed suit thereafter…this is a fragile group trying to turn the corner, and this lengthy ongoing kicking circus is eating the players up silently…every time a field goal is missed, they say to themselves “ok be supportive, next play, everything’s gonna be ok”…then they quietly plummet inside

  84. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Alvin Scissors Harper

That was not opinion. It was fact, according to team stats on NFL. COM.

    So, yes. #1.

  85. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Troy Says
“…the league should force the Glazers to sell the team for intentionally trying to lose. ”

Over reaction and false claim. This team has been playing very hard. They are obviously trying to win. If they were tanking, they would not have won 2 of the last 3.

  86. Phil Says:

It’s pretty clear we aren’t interested in getting better otherwise we would have already sign Kareem Hunt. Koetter was completely out coached in the second half.

  87. Ed Says:

For a moment, on another topic, did NFL officiating take another huge hit yesterday?

There were some very questionable holding, hands to the face or whatever other stupid penalties called against Buc linemen yesterday. At least 2 calls were absolutely ridiculous.

The last 5 minutes of the Philly-Dallas game was worse. That Eagle TD that was called back because they called Eagle tightend for a pushoff? C’mon there was no question that TE was being held off his release and gave a swim move to get open and official threw a flag? What the hell is wrong with these refs?

Even Mike Pereira who usually defends the refs or uses the “not enough evidence” excuse for reversals, said 3 consecutive times that he disagreed with the calls. This is absolutely disgraceful that the last 5 minutes of a great game between 2 teams playing for a division title would have such bad officiating.

    Shame on the NFL.

  88. TOM Says:

First let me say the biggest problem with the Bucs are the owners, who have no clue whats going on. Glazer’s should sell the team since I don’t think they care one iota about winning. That said if they don’t sell then get a GM who knows how to draft & evaluate players. Also HC. No college coaches or retreads. Sign Hunt. Deserves a 2nd chance. Just ask Winston among others. Draft priority should be OL, CB & RB. Even if they would sign Hunt he will probably be suspended.

  89. John Says:

hope they take winston with them when they clean house
