Price Skyrocketing On Humphries

December 23rd, 2018

Cash register ringing.

If Adam Humphries wasn’t such a good dude, he would be smart to come down with the stomach flu or some other sort of ailment one can hide in order to hit the lottery.

Humphries is a free agent after the season and he has developed into the most consistent receiver the Bucs have.

Mike Evans is bird-dogged by refs. DeSean Jackson will be gone. Chris Godwin has recently regressed though he had a good game today.

Humphries? All he does is make catches. He had 10 catches for 79 yards. Humphries has to survive only one more game and he will give the lottery next year. He’s already set career highs this season with 71 catches for 750 yards and five touchdowns.

Today, Humphries proved what a tough SOB he is. Dude took multiple shots that would have led lesser ment to crawl up in a ball and cry for their mother. Not Humphries. He bounced back up waiting for more.

Humphries doesn’t look like a stud NFL receiver who is tough as nails. An avid golfer, Humphries looks much more like a golf pro at an upscale suburban country club who is so smooth with women he can steal your sidechick with a sharp one-liner and a kiss to the hand quicker than you can say “alimony.”

After next week, if Humphries doesn’t get hurt, women will be flocking to him in droves with his new salary.

The Bucs can’t let him escape.

In the wise words of The Eagles…He’s “Already Gone”.

  2. Tbbucs3 Says:

Hump > D jacks which is amazing because Desean is more talented. The only thing that separates them is effort. Imagine if D Jacks tried or cared?

  3. Gman Says:

Why is it sssumed that he is gone? The Bucs have plenty of money…if he is good enough for the Pats…he sure as hell is good enough for us. Pay him Glazers

  4. Bucfan1988 Says:

AH10 has OBVIOUSLY earned a sweet contract from Bucs brass!! GET IT DONE!!!

Don’t be stupid and let this guy leave!!!
Dude is Welker 2.0 !!! Top 5 slot receiver in the NFL…

  5. mdsbuc Says:

Pay the man. He epitomizes what a Buccaneer should be.

  6. Season Is Over Says:

Window has closed. This year was the year. Thanks, Mr. Magoo.

  7. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

He’s better off playing for the patriots

  8. AlteredEgo Says:

Imagine if a QB could hit him in stride… he is standing still on most of his completions

  9. Patrick Says:

This team will let him go. Because I have no faith in them to make any of the right decisions. Ever.

  10. LakeLand Says:

Hump is a decent Slot WR

But Sot WR comes a dime a dozen
The Bucs has greater issues than re-signing him

  11. LakeLand Says:

    **Slot**

  12. Frank Pillow Says:

One of the true warriors out there- maximum effort, heart and toughness. Pay the man.

  13. LakeLand Says:

But they could waive Cam Brate and give Hump his money

Cam Brate don’t have any dead money on the books in 2019

  14. BucEmUp Says:

If Humphries leaves that may be it for me..This team I don’t know why I continue to care but it’s running on fumes. I was outside doing things around the house while the game was on because I knew they couldn’t win. Too bad guys like this get wasted here which is why I see him leaving. Imagine if he landed in Carolina or New Orleans???!!!!! He would be a top wr every season. This team sucks big Nads….

  15. BucBargainBin Says:

Humphries was on the street for several weeks before the Bucs picked him up on a one year deal.

That won’t be the case this time around!

Pay him and release or trade some of the dead weight.

  16. R.O. Says:

Again such ignorant and stupid comments. If you haven’t realized that ownership isn’t afraid of spending money then you are deliusional. Not many do you remember the Culverhouse days. These comments are just stupid.. you know what they say “It’s hard to win an argument with a smart person, it’s impossible to win an argument with a stupid person”

  17. theodore Says:

If Jameis isn’t here, neither will Humphries. The two are a package deal. Humphries isn’t worth it otherwise.

  18. LakeLand Says:

Teams have to spend money in the NFL

But you don’t have to spend it all on 1-2 positions
The Bucs has a lot of needs
The WR position is one of their least needs

  19. LakeLand Says:

They need a LT, OG, DT (3 TECH), RB, QB, ILB, OLB, CB

    WR is not a need

Matter of fact, they need to let a few of them go
And spend that money at other positions
    Positions of need
Cam Brate need to go, OJ is still on his rookie deal
They need to see what they have in Justin Watson
Instead of sitting him, today he wasn’t even active
DJax and his salary need to go
Offer Hump what Slot WR are making
If he want more, then move on
    It’s not that difficult

  20. BFFL Says:

Hump is so good at making first guy miss and running for 1st down.

  21. uckinator Says:

Hump is an automatic first down. Open your eyes ladies and germs! He’s the least of our worries. Write the check or direct deposit. Pay HIM.

  22. Defense Rules Says:

To have solid running back & receiving threats, Bucs need a MINIMUM of 2 RB, 2 TE & 3 WR as starters & key rotational guys. Barber MIGHT be one of the RBs, and OJ & Brate are very good TEs. ME13 is a premier WR, and Godwin has talent (he’ll be fine). Adam Humphries is the guy who makes our ‘weapons’ work. He’s our ‘first down machine’ and that’s critical. Pay the man … he’s one of the few who’ve actually earned it.

  23. LakeLand Says:

    Defense Rules

    But what about the O-Line?

    LT and OG

    What about Inside Linebacker?
What about an experienced CB or two?
What about the 3 Tech position? (GMC is gone) or should be

  24. LakeLand Says:

Isn’t this team and fans tired of MEDIOCRITY

    I know I am

Hump is a good Slot WR
But Slot WR can be replaced
They come a dime a dozen

  25. LakeLand Says:

    I didn’t mention RT

That’s another position of URGENT need

  26. JimmyJack Says:

Lakeland. I agree with all you are saying but at the same time I would not like to create a need at WR. Don’t think it is easy like you are saying to find a slot receiver that can do what Hump can.

  27. LakeLand Says:

Mike Evans count $20,000,000 in cap money in 2019
OJ Howard $6,555,912 in cap money

Then DJax $10,000,000 if brought back
Came Brate $7,000,000 if brought back

    We’re looking at over $43,000,000
How much will they spend on Hump?

Then these same fans will be crying over the poor O-LIne play next season. Crying over the poor QB play, the poor secondary play, the poor D-Line play, crying over the poor play of the Linebackers.

  28. LakeLand Says:

    JimmyJack

That’s why I mention give Hump, Cam Brate money

  29. Bucfan1988 Says:

    That’s a ridiculous comment Lakeland….

GOOD sor receivers do NOT come a dime a dozen…
Hump is smooth at what he does and he very seldom drops a pass. Once in a blue moon…

Dude runs right routes, and has heart galore, plays with a chip on his shoulder because of where he came from…Wasn’t given anything…works his a$$ off. If anyone deserves a new contract, it’s THIS guy.

Honestly since Hump is an avid golfer, and I’m sure loves the Florida courses, he may give a bit of a hometown discount to us..

  30. LakeLand Says:

A solid LT don’t come cheap
A solid QB don’t come cheap
    A solid 3 TECH don’t come cheap
A solid 3 down RB don’t come cheap
A solid shutdown CB don’t come cheap
A solid Middle Linebacker don’t come cheap
A solid RT don’t come cheap
A solid OG don’t come cheap

    Especially coming to Tampa

  31. LakeLand Says:

    Those are the Bucs needs

This is the reality of the situation
I don’t live in La La Land

  32. LakeLand Says:

The Baltimore Ravens signed Willie Snead for 2 year $7,000,000
Look at his numbers for the Ravens
    The Ravens are smart
That’s why they’re going to get rid of Flacco and his salary

  33. JimmyJack Says:

Ok Lakeland. That sounds good to me. Not sure if any new coach we get will want to build around a 2 pascatching TE system anyways.

Even if they do I could make a case that Brate isn’t worth the money.

  34. LakeLand Says:

This is Bucs thinking for real

    Spend over $50,000,000 on WR,TE
And don’t know who there starting QB is
    And have a patch-up O-Line

    This make so much sense

  35. LakeLand Says:

    JimmyJack

That’s my thinking, give him Cam Brate money
Sot WR don’t make nearly as much as outside WR

  36. Joel Says:

Why would he want to play for a losing team next season? Bucs suck.

  37. MadMax Says:

    We better pay Hump!

  38. Not there yet Says:

Lol can’t pay everyone big money, he’s a really good player but seriously he’s slow and not a game changer. No everyone needs a big payday but yes he should get paid like an average player say Cam Brate.

  39. LakeLand Says:

    Exactly Joel

Why would someone want to play for the Bucs next season?

They have to many needs, to many holes to fill

  40. LakeLand Says:

    Not there Yet,

They need to spend on a RT, OG, LT,CB,MLB, 3 TECH before they even think about spending money elsewhere. These fans keep talking about drafting a QB. How will he look behind this pathetic, poor excuse of a O-Line?

  41. SOEbuc Says:

PAY THIS MAN! Guy may have the best hands on the team and for sure the best YAC. A gigantic loss to what this throw first, no RB offense. A fan favorite (OMG, he’s so cute) and will continue to play strong the rest of his career.

  42. Dave Says:

The reality is that the Bucs have to overpay everyone to play here. This is a bad team. So he would be a HUGE cap hit for him to stay.

We got too many other glaring holes in the roster. He’ll walk.

  43. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Come now, chumps. Do I really have to waste time going through last off season’s comments when many of you claimed Hump was not a good wide receiver?

Cloearly, you guys truly knew talent and I didn’t. I was so wrong when I said the Bucs needed to lock him in for a long term deal. Shame on me.

  44. BurgDweller Says:

If he is smart, he would play the open market and sign for big $$ with a winning franchise and get the heck out of Tampa. I’d love to see him stay but he deserves to play for a better organization. Belichick is licking his chops.

  45. Ed Says:

Like most said, pay his his value, unless someone wants to overpay him, he deserves to be paid the average of the top 5 slot receivers in the NFL, he has shown on a bad team he played hard and has sacrificed his body making catches where he’s taken serious hits. Is he as good as Julian Edelman, no, but he’s alot younger and doesn’t get injured.

McCoy and DeSean Jackson are still under contract so cutting them gives the Bucs extra money to pay Humphries more. If Ghoulston is still signed he should be cut. Cam Brate should be traded as well as Winston if Buffalo or Jacksonville will give up a first rounder for him. The Bucs are in a good situation as they have many veteran players that don’t fit their salaries and can be released.

  46. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

When you listen to Humphries, he is a very loyal guy. He is very thankful for the opportunity he has been given here to become who he is. He will want for this to get done with the BUCS.

  47. Cobraboy Says:

If I were Humphries, I would not sign with the Bucs.

  48. Bobby Says:

Adam Humphries is one of our best weapons. He’s a very good receiver and punt returner. Underrated player. We should keep him and pay him what he’s worth.

  49. Not there yet Says:

Humphries will sign here if the price is right. Fans talking about what they would do if they were him is irrelevant. Because you don’t like Tampa why wouldn’t he? He’ll have to start all over in a new locker room if he left to become a free agent. Dude will sign here because there is no one to take his place, he’s not a pro bowl player or some top tier player so he will get paid like an average receiver. Don’t know why everyone answer is to pay somebody whatever it takes. That’s not good business and everyone has a market value, his just isn’t as high as you want to believe it is.

  50. TOM Says:

No brainer. Glazers sign the guy. NOW
