No Discipline

December 23rd, 2018

Bucs coach Dirk Koetter.

It was late in the third quarter and before Bobo Wilson fumbled a handoff (he wasn’t even looking at the ball!) it dawned on Joe what the problem is for this offense.

It has no discipline.

Think about it. Just about every game this team tries to outdo itself with dumb mistakes. There are fumbles, missed blocks, half-arsed blocks, blown blocks, penalties of all sorts, guys dropping passes, fumbles and the weekly Tampa tradition of missed field goals.

If the Bucs offense could find a way to screw up a bedtime fantasy, it could.

And would.

How many times has this team had successful scoring drives in the same half? Not many. Why? Because they find a way each and every drive it seems to blow it up.

When the same team, the same unit finds a way to mess up a drive with many players contributing equally, that points to a discipline problem.

What else could it be?

It’s a Bucs Life, Stuck in Succaneer Cove

  2. YucsFan Says:

So why the Dirk Face ?? He will have no problem finding a job, but I’m happy he gets to get away from this sheety organization and team. No coach will want to come here if Jason and Jamiss are here, but actually feel sorry for Dirk because he did an ok job with what he was given. Go Dirk !!!

  3. Jean Lafitte Says:

Watch the replay …you wanna blame Bobo but Winston shoved that ball all the way across Bobo’s body. He didn’t put it in his stomach between his hands. Watch it again and tell me I’m wrong.

  4. Jean Lafitte Says:

forgot one …veteran QB not paying attention to the clock

  5. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I LUV ME SOME SUCKANEER COVE BABY!!!!!!!!!!

we’re chilling here wit a browns baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You’re wrong simple.

  7. denjoe Says:

They can’t execute a friggin screen without holding.

  8. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

This all just points back to bad coaching and why Koetter should be fired

  9. JimmyJack Says:

We are a poorly trained team.

  10. Conte Piscatelli Says:

I remember the good old 2-14 1980’s. The team was so horrible the only real reason to watch the game was to see how they would blow it that week. After the missed field goal, who didn’t see this game as over? Obviously we’ve seen it before.

  11. Tbbucs3 Says:

Even when we had Greg Schiano , the Bucs never played this sloppy so consistently. Ever since we got those new uniforms, it’s been a slip fest week in week out, never play a clean game.

  12. unbelievable Says:

    It starts at the top!

Sorry Dirk, I like you when you started. I’ve given you plenty of support, even through this season. Even after numerous bone-headed decisions and clock mismanagement week after week after season after season.

But no more. You coach scared. Your tendencies are predictable. And your desire to fight and inspire seems to have disappeared when that 5-game win streak ended in 2016.

And going even higher to the top, past Licht, at the very top is the Glazers. It starts and stops with them.

DEAR GLAZERS: Hire a President of Football Operations or sell the goddamn team! You are truly terrible at running a football franchise.

  13. Season Is Over Says:

The joes asked for everything the fans have had to endure. McCoy, Winston, Koetter, licht, barber and many more. The haters were correct the whole time.

  14. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Ok

    Here’s a coaching tip……..since I know a little bit about this……

It is ULTIMATELY the QBs job to shove it in the gut of the ball carrier……..

…..if the QB see it is not possible, he’s it away…..THAT’S IT!!!!!!

    It was 100% JAMEIS fault….

I’ve coach this play many times before………JAMEIS screwed up period.

  15. YucsFan Says:

How can Foles come in win a Super Bowl or Baker have the Browns with 6 or 7 wins, and the list could go on with other success stories, but not here ? Dirk will have no problem finding a job and wish him all the success because he’s a good coach and man.. This organization is going to have a very hard time selling Jason and Jamiss ?? Thank God for the Bolts !!!

  16. OneBucPerson Says:

1 more week, just 1 more week of the dunce and we can move on.

  17. AlteredEgo Says:

McCoy needs a deep..deep…restructure to help pay for Hump and other upgrades…VV…has come alive !

  18. LakeLand Says:

I have been saying that Jameis strengths are throwing to the RB,TE and Slot WR.

He was 24-28 throwing to those guys today
He was 10- 20 throwing to the WR

  19. Jean Lafitte Says:

How in the heck do players get up for a game when our media keeps pounding the drums to fire their coach. Do you really think they could save him if they won. They are disinterested and defeated. How many years again JBF?

  20. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Lol Anthem… America’s QB Coach. Thank goodness we have your expertise!

  21. Bucnjim Says:

Yep ball carrier isn’t supposed to be looking for the ball EVER! Come on man this goes back to pee wee football. Looking to back Winston I understand but please check football basics first before blaming the RB.

  22. YucsFan Says:

@onebucperaon I hope the dunce is Jamiss because he’s deserving of that hat.. sucks on and off the field, but no coach will want to come here with that gimmick as your QB.. Oh and Jason Lick too

  23. JimmyJack Says:

Sure Lakeland which is why they should never of drafted a RB who can’t catch.

  24. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    You’re welcome Alaskan

Now I’d like a four year contract for 4.5 million a year

  25. Bucnjim Says:

Let’s ask Mike Alstott if he looked at the football during the handoff. I already know the answer!

  26. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

I’m surprised you don’t have one!

  27. Kobe Faker Says:

“Kobe wants to ask Klueleass 1 serious question…

When you hand the ball to Barber up the middle, What actually think is going to happen after it gets stuffed 15 straight times?”

    Kobe SMH Faker

  28. Mikiebucsfan76 Says:

That’s been the problem with this since Koetter took over no discipline

  29. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    God

I’ll never get over when gruden first got to the bucs and he called him Mark Alstott…………………………..LOL

I wanted to kill gruden and so did every blue collar bucs fan in Tampa Bay

  30. Jean Lafitte Says:

I’m convinced there are rocks in that QB’s head.

  31. Mikey Says:

Poorly coached team. This org is exposed every Sunday.

This organization is not prepared, does not develop and get the best of its players. Deep systemic problems direct negative cycle of bad with no end in sight.

Draft whoever you want, won’t matter until the organization knows what they’re doing.

  32. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Kobe

Koetter knows he needs another RB

unfortunately the bust ROJO has killed his optimism

  33. Mikiebucsfan76 Says:

to me it looks like the bucs start a game hot but when the mistakes start its like they quit and just don’t play with no pride it start to be offense make big plays defense screw up then defense make big plays offense screw up. this team really need a over haul my opinion is , Koetter, special teams and DB coaches should all be gone in 019

    ———————————
That’s exactly right. The runner needs to be looking ahead to see where the pressure is coming from, and looking for the open lanes. It’s the QB’s responsibility to put the ball into the bread basket; not high and wide.

  35. Troy Says:

We are a team that has no discipline. That’s a fact. But discipline comes from doing simple things correctly – like handoffs, blocks.. Football basics. We can’t do basic football tasks correctly on a consistent basis. Until that happens, you will continue to see what we saw today.

  36. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Same old story past 11 yrs! We just suck period! Blame who you want it doesn’t matter another losing yr!

  37. TonyC Says:

Why hasn’t Koetter been fired? This is getting ridiculous!

  38. rrsrq Says:

Why do the Bucs have a lot of yardage, because they continue to have negative plays, so now they need to get the ten yards back that they previously got when they got a first down. So the real question if the Bucs gained 400 yards, subtract the penalty yards. We seem to have a negation play on 90% of our drives. Sometimes too much to continually overcome

  39. Gman Says:

It took you 16 weeks to realize the Bucs offense has no discipline? Where the hell have you been Joe? Besides inside Jameis’ arse?

  40. Bucamania Says:

4th and 1. Delay of Game. Neither Winston OR Koetter noticed it.

4th and goal. Delay of game. Neither Winston OR Koetter noticed it.

    Ridiculous.

  41. SOEbuc Says:

When I first read this article title I thought it was going to be how soft Koetter is on the sideline in his grandma glasses. John Cooper is allowed to keep a calm face because the Bolts win and he takes care of business when players get off the ice. We need an energetic coach that’s going to get mean when these player f#ck up. Rivera or Richard. Once again team’s soft as f#ck.

  42. SOEbuc Says:

“Why hasn’t Koetter been fired? This is getting ridiculous!”

George Warhop as interam for the last game.

  43. Bob in Valrico Says:

Watch the play and you will see Jameis looking around or over Bobo and not at his
stomach where he should have been focused. Just like a bike ,you look where you want it to go .

  44. Owlykat Says:

Warhop is the main culprit of this year’s loss streak! You don’t reward him for his destroying this team by promoting him to Interim HC when you fire Koetter.
