There are two Joe’s on this site: Rational Joe and Irrational Joe. I wish Irrational Joe would get it go about Darelle Revis. Revis was *not* going to help that 2014 Buccaneers team win games. He was not going to help the 2015 team win games. Heck, he didn’t help the 2013 team win games. Getting rid of Darelle Revis was one of the best things Jason Licht did in his tenure here.

Rational Joe is spot on about not knowing who did what, or who made certain decisions when Lovie was here. Final control of the 53 roster is not control of the entire roster and who a team brings in.

    No mulligans for Jason Licht.

    Yet Alterraun Verner could?

A Hall of Fame player can’t help a team? Joe has never heard of such a thing. Neither has Bill Belicheat.

Haven’t listened to the podcast yet but just found the title funny, hope no one is on the episode talking about how Geraldine was snubbed effectively ruining the credibility IRA has built up over the years

  4. HolyBuc Says:

I’m pretty sure the Glazers interviewed Mike Zimmer the year they hired Schiano.

  5. macabee Says:

Ira says he thinks Ali Marpet has had a decent year. This NFL writer has Marpet as a mid-season All-Pro.

  6. D-Rome Says:

C’mon Joe, getting rid of Revis allowed Jason Licht to bring in (what they thought at the time) more players that would help the team win. They needed the cap space as that 2013 was full of holes. It was a smart move that just about everyone agreed with. Nobody agreed with it at JoeBucsFan at the time and Revis was cut at just 28 years old. It was a needless dismissal.–Joe

Signing Revis was one of Rock Star’s worst moves as GM.

Are you going to be upset when the Bucs let go of future Hall of Famer DeSean Jackson? He’s 32 and doesn’t want to be here, not comparable to Revis. –Joe

  7. ben Says:

are any players left on the team with the bucs after trading Revis ?? I believe that is nope!!??

are any players left on the team with the bucs after trading Revis ?? I believe that is nope!!??

GMC, LVD, Dotson are a few…

  9. ben Says:

per espn bucs cut Revis who was a great player and got nothing for him!

  10. Loyaltotheend Says:

    @Holybuc

Glazers never interviewed Zimmer or Bruce Arians or other successful coaches

They suck at hiring the obvious coach

  11. HolyBuc Says:

Nope Bucs interviewed Mike Zimmer in 2012 http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/7468229/tampa-bay-buccaneers-talk-mike-zimmer-rob-chudzinski-next

Fans screamed bloody for bucs to cut Sweezy. It’s amazing that JoeBucsFan says nonsense like that. How can fans scream for something your not writing about. Do we need to bring up how many articles you wrote about how Sweezy was stealing money and how he could be cut with no ramifications. Now he’s a pro bowl alternate and your trying to take full credit ((((Nowhere are you hearing or reading Joe “take credit” for Sweezy’s success in Seattle. You’re reading between a lot of lines. There are archives on this site available to all.–Joe))) while claiming it was a bad move by Licht. Absolutely pathetic journalism by you guys and not only that your giving Licht all the blame and won’t even mention Koetter you know the head coach with the trash scheme that can’t run the ball or use any players effectively.

So you give the guy no credit for bringing Sweezy, Koetter is to stupid to use him and Licht gets killed for cutting an ineffective player, how is that not a coaching issue please tell us genius
There’s whatever you are talking about, and then there’s the facts.
Year 1 of Sweezy in Tampa– He’s paid a fortune but doesn’t practice or play because of a back surgery nobody will explain.
Year 2 of Sweezy in Tampa — He’s paid a fortune and is not even average and ends the season with a broken leg. It appears he’s lost some bend in his back, based on his performance.
Year 3 — He’s cut before training camp.
He was a failed signing and Joe simply has been monitoring Sweezy as he is earning NFL peanuts and thriving in 2018.

  13. HolyBuc Says:

Bucs interviewed Zimmmer in 2012 before Schiano. Look it up if you don’t believe me.

  14. ElioT Says:

Listening to Lee bit*hing about the release of Mevis makes me want to puke.

Mr. $16million coming off a destroyed knee and part of maybe the worst secondary ever???

“Oh he went to the Patriots and won a Super Bowl!!!”

    “Oh!!”

    Then Revis was DONE

  15. ElioT Says:

    Joke!!

Revis was already done when he arrived in Tampa.

Won a super bowl with the Pats?

    Ok…

    Then he was done again!!!

  16. ElioT Says:

Praising a mercenary like Mevis tells me you know NOTHING about football.
Revis was fantastic in his first year with the Jets after leaving the Patriots with his ring.–Joe

  17. Fire Light Says:

    Fireeeeee Licht!

  18. Fire Light Says:

Set these fans straight Joe. Lot of trash being spewed by people. This is real news. Not fake news.

  19. Joe Says:

Fans screamed bloody for bucs to cut Sweezy. It’s amazing that JoeBucsFan says nonsense like that. How can fans scream for something your not writing about.

Joe is guessing you don’t read the comments on this site. Rarely a day went by once the 2016 season began that someone didn’t demand Sweezy be cut or claim he was stealing cash from the Glazers with a phantom injury.

You obviously also don’t read the mentions on Joe’s twitter.

What is irresponsible is writing that Joe makes stuff up. Sweezy may have been the most hated Bucs player the past two seasons with the possible exceptions of Chris Conte and GMC.
