Ugly Jameis Streak Snapped At 7

November 26th, 2018

Joe and many other Bucs fans had the same question following yesterday’s manhandling of the 49ers at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway.

When was the last time America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, had a zero-turnover game?

You know it’s bad when you’re even asking the question.

But yesterday it meant good things were happening for the Bucs. Jameis snapped a seven-game streak of turning the ball over by via a fumble or an interception.

Not since Dec. 15, 2017, in Atlanta, had Jameis pitched a giveaway-free game. The ugly streak featured 14 interceptions and four fumbles recovered by the opponent.

Joe is so glad that nightmare is over.

So can Jameis go back-to-back when it comes to protecting the football effectively?

He did once last year, Weeks 3 and 4 against the Giants and Patriots, respectively.

  2. unbelievable Says:

yikes. He needs to continue playing this way if we wants to be the face of an NFL franchise.

We’ve really had a mixed bag from Jameis this year so far: 2 good games, 1 mediocre – slightly below average game, and 1 terrible game.

I’ll see myself out now before the trolls show up and repeat the same sentences fifty times in a row.

  3. Jean Lafitte Says:

Keep this in mind, had it not been for our defense keeping the 9ers in check our 5 punts could’ve cost us the game. In fact we received the opening kickoff and punted. Had they scored first they were gonna get the ball first in the second half. Jameis has to find ways to sustain drives, and that mainly stems from accuracy. We just can’t afford to give up possessions without a score. Panthers
won’t be as forgiving and will probably score every time we give it back to them.

    *if he wants to be

  5. Bucsfanman Says:

unbelievable- But he’s finally turned the corner. He’s become the franchise QB we’ve been pining for: Error-free and consistent.
    After one game…

  6. Robert Says:

banking on crabman is like banking on miley cyrus to keep it classy

  7. Buccernutter Says:

Ironic Jameis also tied a record for consecutive games without a turnover in 2016. Maybe a good article for you to write Joe.

Looks like he’s capable of being a very good QB. Don’t tell the Winston haters.

  8. pelbuc Says:

New steak starts against the Panthers. Don’t trust him at all to be consistent.

  9. JimmyJack Says:

    Bucsfanman…….We got five games left.

Let the talking be done between the white lines I say.

  10. Boogie-Nightz Says:

Haters out in full force on here…..facepalm

  11. JimmyJack Says:

Get me 3-2 Winston. Well let the rest of them whine and argue over turnovers.

    3-2 minimum, non-negotiable.

  12. Lamarcus Says:

I don’t care about turnovers. I care about wins like the ones yesterday and the Browns.

  13. unbelievable Says:

lol bucsfanman, If we get 5 more games of similar play, then I will think maybe he finally did. (No I don’t expect him to be turnover free, just limiting them to one every other game would be nice)

While turnovers have been an achilles heel for a few games, we have way bigger issues on this team than the QB (see: 96% of the defense)

  14. Robert Says:

crabman MIGHT remain serviceable and even be given a fat contract. the moment he gets that contract he’ll look like shaun king (after football)

dude has no character and so more issues than censors on this site

  15. Robert Says:

he belongs in an orange jumpsuit

  16. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

Jamies has a defense that’s playing average and a reliable kicker.

    NO EXCUSES!

    Let’s go Winston!!!

  17. Bucsfanman Says:

JimmyJack- 5 games! Amen! If we’re going “3-2” though, Jameis had better look good in the 2 losses.

unbelievable- Just like stirring the pot sometimes! LOL! Liked what I saw out of the d-line yesterday. Promising, for a change! Still needs work though.

  18. D-Rome Says:

Short of a DB making a great play for an INT, I’d like to see Jameis go back to back, to back, to back, to back when it comes to turnover-free football.

  19. Buc1987 Says:

    Robert…you don’t have issues.

    You have volumes.

  20. BrianBucs Says:

Winston can now start a new turnover streak.
Anything done against the lowly 49ers should have an asterisk by it

  21. Buccfan37 Says:

Defending the home field again division opponents will tell the tale of Bucs relevance.

  22. D the Bucs fan Says:

Run the football. Aaron Rodgers and drew Brees can’t win without a running g game

  23. Grt1 Says:

Robert stop trolling please. This is football not the Oval Office. A professional athlete is paid to preform not be high quality guys. Jameis decisions don’t affect us in anyway in our personal life’s unless we want it too.

  24. Grt1 Says:

You don’t have to participate Robert!!!

  25. Jsmalls Says:

Bucs still lost that game. Back and forth affair with Jameis driving them down the field for the go ahead score mid 4th. Falcons next drive freeman busts a 32 yard TD. Jameis guides a drive late 4th quarter for a tying FG only to have the kicker miss a 32 yarder.

If we weren’t that lazy and broke down every game like this we’d find that Jameis has put this team in position to win more times than not only to have our hearts crushed by the defense and kicker.

  26. SOEbuc Says:

After four years Koetter has finally let Jameis use his good running abilities of a strong QB. Something that needs to be put into play much more often. Jameis is quite good when getting flushed out of the pocket all the time. Sunday he looked great at when to run and when to pass with little time. He is dominant at throwing the ball to receivers within the 20-yard range, but he’s also dominant at throwing to defenses in a 20-yard range. You let him run and he’s either going to make the right decision to run and get 5+ yards or defenders are going to start going after him if he looks like he’s taking off and open up all our offensive weapons.

    -Coach SOEbuc for 2019

  27. Season Is Over Says:

2017 from end to beginning from Winston.

    NO- 3 int
    Car- 3 fumbles
    Atl-1 fumble
    Det- 2 int
    GB-2 fumble
    Car- 2 int
    Buff- 2 fumble and int

I’m not looking up anymore out of sheer disgust. Someone can continue the embarrassment if they want. The point is obvious.

Season Is Over….we ALL can cherry pick stats.

“He did once last year, Weeks 3 and 4 against the Giants and Patriots, respectively.”

Why we wasting time on this fool?

  31. stpetebucsfan Says:

JW has screwed up most of his adult life…on and off the field.

He’s stayed out of off field trouble for quite awhile now. So that’s a major improvement. Perhaps he has finally learned his lesson.

Sunday was his best game in years and actually maybe his best game ever for us…at least in terms of what we need. A smart, efficient QB who protects the ball. Keep that up and JW should have a bright career.

I do not think JW was lucky Sunday….he appeared genuinely changed. IF that’s true we might be ready to turn the corner.
