Lauded.

Look who’s getting props!

In a review of what went right and what went wrong in Week 11 of the NFL during on Sunday’s games (that’s key here), Hank Gargiulo of BSPN looked at the top-rated quarterbacks. First was Drew Brees. Second was Andrew Luck. And take a wild stab who was No. 3.

That would be America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

Although he did not enter the game until late in the third quarter, Winston packed a lot of action into a relatively short amount of game time. His 21 action plays just clears the bar for a weekly qualifier, as he nearly rallied the Buccaneers from a 17-point deficit on Sunday.

Winston led the Bucs on four consecutive touchdown-scoring drives but could not get a stop from his defense until time had nearly expired. He had to be aggressive and was largely successful in doing so. Only three of his pass attempts traveled fewer than 5 yards past the line of scrimmage, and of those that did travel at least 5 yards downfield or more, only two were not completed.

He did toss an interception as time was nearly out, but its effect was muted, as the Bucs were at their own 20-yard line with 23 seconds left and no timeouts.

Joe doesn’t know why so many folks cannot wait to toss Jameis overboard so damn quick. Joe just simply doesn’t get it.

Just when Joe thought the Mike Glennon Mob was dead, reading comments here and Twitter takes at Joe prove the Mike Glennon Mob is alive and well. That’s the only logical explanation Joe can wrap his head around.

With a new coach (very likely) coming in, who knows what the future holds for America?

In the same BSPN list, Bucs journeyman backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was in the bottom-three.

Nice pic here Joe. Jameis lokks like a disciple of con men Creflo Dollar and Joel Olsteen!

  2. Easy Says:

My gawd man. I want pics of your Winston shrine you sleep under every night. It’s went from annoying to down right nauseating how you defend this guy. I’m sure when Fitz came in to relieve Winston in the second half against the Bungles he was a top 3 QB.

  3. Easy Says:

Uh oh, looks like my comment got deleted.

  4. Topcoach1978 Says:

You couldn’t wait to post this foolishness smh…..I get that Fitz ain’t the guy but for you to truly think Jameis is a franchise Qb is foolish dude you’re are up with this loser!

  5. Easy Says:

Need pics of your Winston shrine seriously.

  7. Bucsfanman Says:

He had a decent half of football, he did well given the circumstances.
I want to see him do it for an entire game and through multiple games before I give him the benefit of the doubt though.
    He’s got a 6 game interview.

“Mike Glennon”! You’re reaching Joe. Keep feeding them though, the comments are entertaining!

  8. 407buc Says:

I don’t think it’s the Mike Glennon mob but the Tim Teblow mob aka Gator fans.Tampa has always been a Gator city.Id guess 70 percent of Bucs fans are also Gator fans.

  9. Lamarcus Says:

    Cut Fitz

  10. Eric Says:

When you lead an offense that had scored ten points in six quarters to 28 points in less than a half – its not just “decent”.

    Its excellent.

Just like making the pro bowl as a 21 year old taking over the worst team in the league.

    Go JW!

  11. Ndog Says:

Why is it so hard to understand. If this team had any defense or kicking Jameis would be looked at as one of the best players in the league period. With his numbers and wins he would be in the same class as Wentz, Goff, Mahomes, etc…

This teams problem is not the QB so the fact that the moron coach keeps switching QB’S is just another example of his uselessness.

  12. Season Is Over Says:

The Winstopology continues. The “Ifs”? Forget that. Year four with no excuses. Same coach all four years. You are either a real NFL QB or not at this point. No one wants to be mired in mediocrity for years. Especially after the Lost Decade.

  13. JabooBuc Says:

Joe,you’re reason for keeping Jameis can only be attributed to the lack of another viable option at this point. In other words, you are settling which is a losers mentality. I think we would all agree if we could trade Jameis straight up with any of the top 15-18 QBs in this league we would all do it without a second thought.

  14. 813bucboi Says:

the game was over at halftime…..bucs fans knew it…..bucs players knew it….giants players knew it……

this offense will continue to come out flat in the first half or stall in the redzone in the first half only to lose by 3pts…..

kyle shannahan will put the nail in dirk coffin…..

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  15. Bucsfanman Says:

Eric- You’re splitting hairs dude. I EXPECT a QB with these weapons to do that, that’s all. I give him props.
    Don’t taze me bro!

Ndog- We don’t have a team capable of making up for QB or offensive mistakes. That’s the unfortunate truth. Maybe it’s a different conversation if we did, we don’t know.
I agree about coaching 100%, top to bottom.

  16. GhostofSchiano Says:

Winston led the Bucs on four consecutive touchdown-scoring drives but could not get a stop from his defense until time had nearly expired….

If he can play like this the final six games I will once again believe in Wimston.

Just hope he doesn’t do anything stupid in the off season.

Hope he can continue this level of play next season.

A lot of UCF fans here too…. Also know as the HIGHEST RANKED FLORIDA SCHOOL IN THE AP………..aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

    UCF scares Saban

  18. Buccernutter Says:

What’s truly foolish is this fan base and people like top coach. Holy **** you are a hypocrite. Man this fan base is pathetic.

I swear you guys have no analytic skills. To insult Joe while simultaneously suggesting Jameis isn’t a franchise QB is absolutely ridiculous. You guys are the reason our team has sucked for so long. You whine and force the Glazer’s hands everytime.

Dude has flashed brilliance. In a pass heavy offense now evidently prone for ints. Dude is average as it is with those turnovers but he can’t be a franchise QB?

Fix the coaching fix the team. I hate this fan base. You are so stupid.

  19. JabooBuc Says:

Run through the other 15 NFC QBs and tell me who you wouldn’t take right now for an even swap of JW. Only guy I could come up with is possibly Eli because of his age. Every other QB I would swap in a heartbeat.

    Truly sad.

  20. BrianBucs Says:

    Top 3 bust

  21. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Joe…I am a Jameis supporter…..was for drafting Mariota (only because of off-field uncertainty) but have become a fan of Jameis’ play (except turnovers)

As a supporter, I can understand why there are those opposed…..and your continued “America’s QB” is stoking that fire……you are partly responsible for the strong negatives by continuing with that…..so, don’t be surprised that it is there.

  22. Season Is Over Says:

Why is everyone forgetting that Winston played so bad it was beyond the point of embarrassing the team. Koetter had no choice but to sit him. Was no one watching the game? One of the games during the stretch the announcer even said “I am not sure of what he seeing”. Translation: There isn’t even anyone in the frame so I don’t know who he is throwing to. A few good drives are not going to change what actually happened in reality.

  23. Bucsdelight Says:

    Week 1 – Fitz #1
    Week 2 – Fitz #4
    Week 3 – Fitz #22
    Week 4 – Jameis #4
    Week 6 – Jameis #16
    Week 7 – Jameis #15
    Week 8 – Jameis #25
    Week 9 – Fitz #10
    Week 10 – Fitz #20
    Week 11 – Jameis #3, Fitz #25

Tell me again how they are any different from each other. Oh, because you chose to pick on week where he placed top 3. Great, Fitz was #1 in Week 1, I guess that makes him our future. How any of you can run him out, I just don’t understand. Hope you could feel and see the huge eye roll I did there.

  24. Joe Blahak Says:

Good lord! The Jameis support by the Joes is bordering on insanity. He’s great in garbage time. I’ve watched every game of this fraud. I think he’s added the “happy feet” syndrome in the pocket to his flaws. Doing a little dance in the pre-pass phase of throwing. He’ll never be the savior of any team. It’s best that the team and the Joes cut their mistakes now than suffer more ridicule latter.

  25. Topcoach1978 Says:

    @jaboobuc STFU!!!!

  26. Topcoach1978 Says:

I apologize @Jaboobucc that was meant for Buccernutter….so with that being said @Buccernutter STFU!!!

  27. Season Is Over Says:

Yes, the Winstopologists have moved onto insulting the fan base as the cause of Winston’s struggles. They must be running out of excuses.

  28. LakeLand Says:

    And again they LOST

  29. LakeLand Says:

Stats are so important in Sucksville,USA

  30. Buccernutter Says:

    Bucsdelight.

That’s the laziest and dumbest analysis I’ve ever seen.

Wow our fan base is dumb. LMAO

  31. T REX Says:

Where was he ranked the cincy week?

  32. Buccernutter Says:

Season are you trying to tell me fitz freaks don’t insult Winston apologists? Ha

You must have missed FAR MORE insults as Winston haters are the dumbest and most most malicious fans of the bucs.

  33. Jean Lafitte Says:

let’s hear all the BS when he craps the bed against the 9ers @ home no less. He couldn’t have asked for an easier game to come back to. If he can’t outscore them then we are done and need to search for another QB. As we are seeing all over the league defenses are giving up huge numbers and QB’s are turning the ball over but are still finding ways to win. Not us, we can’t score at will. We always get down by 3 scores and then try to catch up. It ain’t working.

  34. Buccernutter Says:

Winston has played in 4 garbage time games in past 2.5 years.

You garbage time guys don’t understand the sport and therefore a great representation of our dumb fan base.

  35. Aceofaerospace Says:

Why was Tony Dungy fired? He was good but not good enough. Why was Jon Gruden fired? He was good but not good enough. Maybe some of us fans are just tired of the boneheaded rookie mistakes he continues to make. I don’t see any end in sight. The Jay Cutler comparison a couple days ago nailed it. Until Winston somehow separates himself from the Jay Cutlers and Jeff George’s of the NFL, I’ll be hoping for a better option. Good is just not good enough. Not in this league.

  36. Not there yet Says:

Sad so many people are angry Fitz dream world they were living in wasn’t reality. What’s left but to be angry that Winston had a good game. Complain about what he did before the last game because in reality you aren’t rooting for the bucs you root for specific players.

  37. AlteredEgo Says:

    Good Jameis
    Bad Jameis
    Good Jameis
    Bad Jameis
    Buccaneer roulette

  38. Season Is Over Says:

No one likes Fitz. People were simply smart enough to realize Winston makes too many mistakes to win with this defense. Eventually, Fitz started making the same mistakes. So, now Koetter has a choice of the lesser of two evils. That choice has been week to week. The Winstonpologists are just like the Freeman people at the end. So predictable.

  39. Buccernutter Says:

Suggesting noone likes Fitz is not only inaccurate but ignores this website for the past 4 months. You are wrong and your merit is now gone.

Those winstonpologists you keep complaining about are just bucs fans that support our inevitable starting QB for the next forseeable future. Stop dividing the fan base. Winston is in and u should shutup and hope he succeeds. Idiot.

  40. AlteredEgo Says:

    I have no name I favor…
produce at a elite level or cut your loses and continue the search
Play Jameis the remainder of the season and see if he can separate himself from his history, if not
pay him for 2019 and draft a QB with the Bucs 1st pick in 2019 draft
and let it sort itself out next season

  41. Dapostman Says:

Winston has only been in ONE offense in his NFL career. Dirk Koetter’s HIGH risk HIGH reward vertical passing offense. Most air yards virtually every year. That means he and Fitz are throwing the ball furthest down the field where all the DB’s play. They rarely check it down. It’s all push it down the field ala the old AFL of the 60’s. It’s 2018 folks and if you haven’t noticed the Rams, Chiefs or Saints offenses you are living in a cave. These teams scheme their players open. I’m in the camp of before cutting ties with Winston I’d like to see what a successful coach could do with him. I see the talent and the grinder.

    #JimHarbaugh

  42. AlteredEgo Says:

Until there is something to like about a QB…I don’t
    unlike the Jamyth humpers
I’ll be first to admit I am wrong…ain’t seen what yoz are seeing

  43. Bucsfan3 Says:

The Mike Glennon Mob is real…and hateful.

  44. Bucsdelight Says:

    Buccernutter,

I don’t know you and don’t care too, but you got nothing. I was using the exact same line of thinking against Joe to show it was useless. Obviously that went over your head, which tells me you are the dumb one.

  45. Reach87 Says:

This is how they are different and why over the last 3 games Winston should have started as the giving the team (team game, right or wrong?) the best chance to win. When the defense had an average showing we went into the red zone and couldn’t score. When the defense was horrible we bring him in and score x4 consecutive drives. He starts the last 3 games and we likely win at least 2 of them. Don’t start him and see what you got. In your heart you know he gives us the best chance to win game this year (not last year or next year)….now. I hope the damage (lost last 3 winnable games) isn’t done. And my comments do not impugn Fitz… he is a leader and great team mate…we can and have won with him. But the adjustment was 3 games delayed. We CAN WIN this week with a team effort (includes coaches). Go Bucs!

  46. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Here is an objective litmus test for me personally. When it comes to fantasy I play no favorites and start the guys that I think will get me the most points. You know who my starting QB will be this week? JW. There is one reason for that, he tends to light it up when he is on the field. Yeah, I might lose a couple of points due to a pick or two, but his 400 passing yards and 3-4 TD passes more than make up for it. That is enough to tell me that he is on his way to being a franchise QB for a long time. If the defense is going to give up 48 points a game that isn’t on Jameis. All of you haters would love to see him fail, but ultimately he won’t and I am just praying it happens here rather than somwhere else.

  47. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Liking Jameis has absolutely nothing to with college football. It has to do with being a Bucs fan and having common sense.

You dump Winston, and you are looking at years worth of bottom feeding again…with no hope of pulling out. The Head Coach carousel will start up again, only because we don’t have any hope for a franchise QB, we go nowhere.

All of the haters always want this guy or that guy gone, then if they get their way, they do nothing but complain and blame the Head Coach or General Manager because it affects us in a negative way. The fans have zero accountability, and think that football is a video game, where you can just switch players and see instant improvement.

Real life does not work that way. Investing time and development is what works.

Now the haters will say “Four year is enough!”

It wasn’t for Brett Favre, who Winston is most like. It took six years for him to do much, and his numbers were worse than Winstons.

  48. Taylor Says:

Get him a run game and a D and we will be just fine. I promise

  49. Bucsdelight Says:

I don’t think Winston is a franchise QB. I think he is avg at best. Compare him to Cutler, Dalton, Palmer, whomever in that same vein. He’ll get you wins, but we aren’t going anywhere with him.

Also, you aren’t getting 400 yds out of him. That one cracked me up. He has had one game of 400 yds or more in his career. You read that right, ONE game that he went for 400 yds or more. You might get 300 out of him if you are lucky, but you aren’t getting 400.

  50. Tony LA Says:

    Buccernutter is speaking the truth

The haters who are looking to toss JW aside now are the lowest common denominator of fans. If any of you were true Buc fans and not just miserable complainers with zero analytical skills, you would know that the best case scenario for the Bucs if if Winston succeeds over the final six games.

    Period.

To the wise Buc fans that get this… Happy Thanksgiving!
To those that don’t… honestly, I couldn’t care less what you do

  51. LakeLand Says:

This Suck team hasn’t made the playoffs in 11 seasons

I’m sure all of their 50 fans are upset about this

  52. Patrickbucs Says:

We had over 100 yards rushing again this week. We’re not the best rushing team in the league for sure. However to say we do not have one is just not true. Poor defense is absolutely accurate though.

  53. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Get Jameis a run game and a real D and we will be just fine.
Maybe a better left tackle, while we are at it.

  54. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Hey Bucdelight, a QB that throws for 300 ypg ends up in the HOF. I love how you scoff at the fact that he has only thrown for 400 ypg once. How many times has he thrown for 300+ ypg?

  55. Oneilbucs Says:

    One word defense!!!!!!!!

  56. Oneilbucs Says:

Jamies is our quarterback rather y’all like or not . Just go root for another team. Jamies is good enough to win . Djax was a bad singing. We didn’t need him . And I don’t know why yall keep saying he has weapons. Djax only can run one route. Godwin is young, Howard is still young. Get rid of Jackson and get Jamies a running game and a defense . He will be alright.
