Thankful

November 22nd, 2018

Make Bucs fans happy.

The Bucs are 3-7. They stink.

With a little luck, they could have a top-five pick in next spring’s draft.

The defense is dancing with becoming the worst in the 99-year history of the NFL. The running game is, at best, inconsistent. No one knows who will be the quarterback next year. Or coach.

What in the name of Oniel Cousins can a Bucs fan be thankful for?

Jenna Laine of ESPN suggests the Bucs, in a gruesome way, are entertaining. Specifically, the Bucs have wide receivers that make football fun.

Thankful for: Talented pass-catchers. … the Bucs have arguably the best group of receiving targets in the league with Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson, Chris Godwin, O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate. When the offense doesn’t turn it over, they’re a pretty tough group to stop.

The fun, sadly, lasts only so long. If there isn’t an interception or a fumble, then Bucs fans are ambushed by a horrid defense that is so bad, words fail Joe.

It is a wonder more folks at the Den of Depression don’t start launching their lukewarm $8 Miller Lites.

I am thankful for the Bucs…..they provide me with hours of enjoyment on a regular basis…..even in losing….being a fan is enjoyable for me. That’s why I keep coming back.
To be a true fan is to support your team through good and bad.
Sure, you can be disappointed and feel let down….but still thankful.

It’s sort of like having a kid that keeps screwing up…..even somewhat of a loser….are you going to abandon them?…..or support them and hope, pray that they get better……of course you would.

So the Bucs are loaded at probably the easiest position to play in the NFL. No wonder they haven’t won in a decade. They may want to shore up the positions that are harder to play. Seems logical.

Will the bucs really not win against the lowely 49ers??? If so losing brings then into a top 5 draft pic for now at least ….( believe i am correct on this)

You nailed it RIGHT on the head, Tampabaybucfan. – Beautifully said. The enjoyment & passion in rooting for the BUCS is strong as ever… and it is still fun, no matter what. Hopefully the wins will come soon. Go Bucs

  8. SRQ Buc Fan Says:

Joe – How can I launch my lukewarm $8 Miller Lite when the West Club runs out of draft beer before half time?!?! This organization is a JOKE!

  9. Buc believer Says:

I’m thankful that this season is almost over.

  10. Pete I Says:

I’m thankful for football and that we are one day closer to the end of the Jameis Winston failure and complete waste of time trying to fix the fixer upper QB.

  11. German Buc Says:

Thank you, TBBF! True words, and the only time I forgot it was during the Bengals game. But at least since Sunday I am back on track 🙂

  12. PSLBob Says:

She forgot to include Adam Humphries. He always shows up big when we need a spark. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  13. Eric Says:

I’m thankful we have a team to follow too. I remember what it was like before we got one.

    Go bucs.

  14. Destinjohnny Says:

Evans needs to run hills with Jerry Rice this offseason
He doesn’t keep himself in the best of shape
He is really really good for dang sure
With a top level jerry rice regime he will be great

  15. Cobraboy Says:

@PSLBob: leaving Humphries off that list had to be a mistake. He is as key to the passing game success as the other guys are.

  17. TOM Says:

Why when the Bucs WR’s are mentioned they always fail to mention HUMP? He is the most consistant receiver they have.

  18. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I realize it’s very difficult to be thankful for a losing team….but if you can’t bring yourself to that…..at least be thankful for some of the better players…..
My favorites are Mike Evans, OJ Howard, Adam Humphries….Ali Marpet & Chris Godwin……starting to grow fond of Peyton Barber & Jordan Whitehead…..and then there is the loveable JPP……

Yes, I am very thankful to all of them.

  19. LakeLand Says:

The Bucs are loaded with talented receivers

But, guess what? Only one of them can get the ball
Why not load up on talented players at other positions
    Especially OT,RB,CB,S

I am thankful that there are a few fans on this site like tbbf that hate losing but are loyal enough to keep on finding the good things and improvements that our team make. Yes they need to make changes and tweek a lot of things but they are still fun to root for and I feel fortunate we have a team. Many cities don’t.

  21. Not there yet Says:

People take shots at the glazers for apparently not knowing the future.

Lovie hire was a failure but not a bad idea until he started making personnel decisions. Almost no one diagreed with firing him and even fewer were against hiring Koetter. But that’s why they ignore you because fans and media get to sit at their keyboards and call out the glazers for a move you were all onboard with. As long they correct the mistake by firing Koetter and his misfit coaches I’ll be excited in 2019. Just fire someone who actually knows how to coach up players and doesn’t wet himself at the thought of having to make good decisions on game day

  22. Clarence Says:

With any luck the Bucs will have a top 5 pick? Having a top five pick is a TRAGEDY. Is Joe rooting for this to occur? Could there be any more toxic position for a member of the Bucs media to take?
