Horrid Bucs Kicking

November 15th, 2018

New Bucs kicker Cairo Santos.

Can Cairo Santos stop the bleeding at kicker?

We won’t know until he trots out onto the field. But he cannot do much worse than Bucs kickers in recent years.

The following will likely make you want to kick a hole in the wall or drop kick a trash can across the yard. Per the research of Kevin O’Donnell of WTVT-TV Channel 13, since the start of the 2015 season, the Bucs have missed 33 field goals and 12 extra points over 57 games.

And yeah, those numbers just happen to coincide with the drafting of a franchise quarterback. So of course, let’s #BlameJameis.

Maybe Jameis should be the holder. Just sayin. He’s not doing anything else right now.

  2. Sydney Says:

Prop bet: He misses at least one makeable field goal or a PAT Sunday.

Easy money, he’s a Bucs kicker now.

Welcome to the cursed club, Cairo!

  3. RawDog Says:

That averages out to about 2 pts per game. Not exactly why we continue to lose games.

  4. BigMacAttack Says:

@Troy, I laughed way to hard at this. Good one.

  6. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

How the hell did JW’s name come up?

  7. Fartman Says:

..AND the defense sucks too… but none of that makes Jameis a good quarterback.

  8. AlteredEgo Says:

Where is the Poll ?…will he make or miss his first PAT

  9. Dewey Selmon Says:

Meadowlands is no joke when it comes to kicking. Anyone know if Santos has ever kicked there?

  10. Taylor Says:

This amazing running game too. #blamejameis probably his fault…

  11. Anonymous Says:

Don’t be negative bandwagonders. Sound like my dad when he’s had too much scotch and starts yelling in the first quarter. If this guy can at least make some PAT then I’ll be happy. Hopefully he can become a franchise Bucs kicker. Catanzaro was a $6 million joke!

  12. Loyaltotheend Says:

$21 million well spent if he’s a good holder

  13. Lamarcus Says:

    Joe

Jw is not even playing and we still look bad.

What’s the excuse for the JW haters? Crickets?

  14. NPRSageBoy Says:

Enough with the #blameJayMiss BS. He’s a below average QB, at best. Get over it.
No sane person is saying Fitz is the answer. The truth is JayMiss isn’t the answer either

  15. Lamarcus Says:

JW haters….. JW is benched so what’s the excuse?

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Although not responsible for missed kicks……the QBs & Offense have to take some responsibility for failure in the red zone necessitating the FG……

  17. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo is rooting for Santos……Pablo’s homeboy……Aguayo didn’t do too well”

  18. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Your gay for Winston lmao maybe you could pick him up in a Uber car and he will Grope you!

  19. Kansas95Buc Says:

a few people have been saying maybe its the holder. I thought it was bs but it could be a factor, everybody we got has kicking issues but im sure kotter wont even attempt to problem solve that

  20. Kansas95Buc Says:

    @Buccaneerscotty
cmon man, was that really needed?

  21. Cs2 Says:

Cairo Santos is the solution for our kicking woes. Licht always got players from terrible teams who perform terribly. this man has a soccer background and he made 20 yarders in his first day kicking. Turn on the tape and you’ll see how good he is

  22. Defense Rules Says:

@Joe … “And yeah, those numbers just happen to coincide with the drafting of a franchise quarterback. So of course, let’s #BlameJameis.” Oh Joe, you are sooo predictable … like a junkyard dog who won’t give up the bone no matter what. There’s obviously something MUCH BIGGER going on behind the scenes regarding Jameis than any of us (including you) are aware of.

Koetter has to know that he’s a goner, and my guess is Licht also senses that he’ll be joining him soon afterwards in the unemployment line. Such is life in the NFL (particularly when you continue to rake in the big $$$ AFTER you say sayonara). There’s a very good chance IMO that the Bucs ownership has already made a decision on Jameis’ future (and it’s seeming more & more like that future doesn’t include the Bucs).

There’s also a VERY good chance this team could end up 5-11 or 4-12 this year, and that’d get us a pretty high draft pick. We have LOTS of needs, and the highest priority need could very well be QB come draft time. Or they may decide to roll with Fitz for another year & wait until the 2020 class (hello Tua). Not our call though.

I see a major bloodbath coming … GM, coaches AND quite a few players. My biggest hope is that the Glazers will hire a highly experienced ‘adult’ with a clear vision of what the Bucs should be to oversee a MAJOR RESTRUCTURING of this franchise. Losing sucks and to continue on doing what we’ve been doing only guarantees more losing.

    LOL 🙂

  24. joestang Says:

Whats the over/under on him missing at least 2 kicks Sunday?

  25. lurker Says:

    ummmmmm
    thanks to greg auman

  26. BigMacAttack Says:

Can we just not kick at all? Go for it on any 4’th down inside the opponent’s 40. Go for 2 on every extra point. Use big bodies, slam it in and practice it. No FGs or PAT kicks. You will end up scoring more points especially when your kicker misses everything anyway. Let’s do this 😂😂😂

Aguayo should’ve gotten a second chance! Jason Licht’s 2nd Round Genious Idea! Fireeee Licht!

    Go Bucs!!!

I hate to say it, @Sydney, and I hope we are wrong….
but seriously, how could ANY of us BET AGAINST THAT?
