Fitz Not Worried About Future

November 11th, 2018

Starting in New Jersey?

Bucs journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t going to lose much sleep tonight wondering who will be the Bucs’ starting quarterback next week.

But there is no question that the man who replaced America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, due to turnovers, is now turning the ball over too much himself. Today he had two picks and a fumble in the 16-3 loss to the Redskins.

“That’s not something I concern myself with or care about,” Fitz said when asked if he might be benched this week.

Bucs Bit-O-Honey-snacking coach Dirk Koetter did not deny there may be a change at quarterback but needed time to consult with Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht.

“If I get a chance to go out there, I try to do my best and play as hard as I can and enjoy myself.”

This play today by Fitzpatrick was what all the national NFL pundits based in the northeast warned Bucs fans about when Koetter decided to put Jameis on the pine — that Turnover Fitz would soon rear his ugly head.

Today was that day.

    Nor the present….

  2. NPRSageBoy Says:

Best place for a 36 year old QB may be the bench after the beatings he has suffered behind this horrible O line.
Better to let a 24 year old turnover machine absorb some abuse for a few weeks and earn his $21M payday.

  3. JimmyJack Says:

Still have a lot of respect for what Fitz did at the start of the season. No reasonable fan could have asked for more.

He and JPP are the only 2 Bucs I enjoy watching. They are also my 2 nominees to be named player/HC once Dirk gets shown the door(tomorrow hopefully).

  4. JimmyJack Says:

I also enjoy watching Shaun Wilson and Carlton.

  5. Heavye Says:

    Dead man walking…….Lol!!!!

  6. Heavye Says:

This is what happens, when you wear shades at practice, been in the league for how long??? Be a professional #14, you clowns that love him, are really getting what you wanted and deserve…….don’t make a switch now, keep him in there for the rest of the season. 3-13!!!

  7. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I’m sure Jay Miss will be back under center next week. And I’m equally confident the over/under on turnovers is 3. Personally, I’d love to see what Ryan Griffin can do. He’s a totally unknown quantity.

  8. Easy Says:

I don’t even give a f*ck who starts from now on till the end of the season. We will have a new QB next season.

  9. Darin Says:

Lol. Every qb in the league has bad games. Should have never taken fitz out to begin with. He has no klue about a team. The offense is gona set team records n he keeps messing with the qb. Brilliant. Defense doomed em from minute they kept a terrible d coordinator. This is what ya get when ur klueless.

  10. TOM Says:

Fitz has done a pretty good job for a journeyman QB, but its time to give Griffin a chance before going back to Winston. I think the Bucs need to see what they have in Griffin. Of course that will be up to the new GM & HC. Sooner than later. It would be even nicer to hear the Glazers have sold the team.

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

Fitz will be back as a backup. He’s not worried. He’s one of the smart ones. Over the yrs, he’s sacked away a nice little nest egg for his family and kids education.
The mans a journeyman..Been everywhere, done that. Ok Jamis, you get a great shot in the Meadowlands. Don’t screw it up. Be ready. I mean, we ought to be able to beat the Giants and Niners..Right?..or Wrong?

  12. Ed Kerber Says:

It is time to fire Koetter! It needs to be done tonight!

  13. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

In my mind, Jameis will be back in the saddle again, next week.
Why ? Because we really need to see what we have, or don’t have with him.

  14. Rod Munch Says:

Carr on 4th and 5, down by two scores, throws the ball into the ground. The Winston haters fully approve of that, because as we know turnovers are the most important thing in football, much more important than points and winning. Well unless Fitz has a bunch of turnovers, then it’s on the coach, and the kicker. LOL!

  15. Clarence Says:

I can’t decide if the answer is:

    a) fire everyone and hope the next regime finally cleanses the stench of losing
    b) retain everyone, take your lumps and give them the time they need to fix the problems

    (b) sounds crazy but we’ve tried (a) over and over with no success for a decade. Maybe these are the kinds of growing pains you just have to endure to slowly build a dynasty.

  16. JimmyJack Says:

Listening on the post&pregame game radio; the analysts and fans agree that this team is not practicing/preparing properly.

  17. buccfan305 Says:

3 weeks ago was that day. 4 TOs

  18. Rod Munch Says:

Wait, when Winston loses it’s all his fault, even if the defense is giving up over 30 points a game it’s all on Winston… Fitz loses on a day when the defense holds the opponent to 16 points and Fitz has two red zone turnovers, it’s a team loss, it’s a coaching issue. LOL!

  19. Stevbobucsfan Says:

Fitz is a good pinch hitting don’t quite know what Jamis is at this time.but what I do know is that this need some good coaching it just seems like this team is not ready to play a lot of times. I can also grantee a good HC not great but one who can get the most out of his players and this team is a playoff team

  20. LakeLand Says:

FitzTragic single-handed lost this game for the Bucs

    0-5, 2 sacks, 3 turnovers
    In the Red Zone

  21. Bosch Says:

I predict Koetter will be fired tomorrow. Nothing to lose by getting him out of the way. All he does is find away to lose.

  22. JimmyJack Says:

Rod Munch don’t worry. This coach will be gone.

Reguardless Fitzpatrick was terrible today, just like Winston has been many times himself.

  23. TheNorm Says:

Need the best possible draft pick for the new regime so play Winston as well so they know they need a new QB.

  24. @ZammyPup (IG) Says:

    CTRL-ALT-CUTTER
    CTRL-ALT-LICHT
    CTRL-ALT-FRANCHISE

    One dog’s opinion.

  25. JimmyJack Says:

Let’s see. Today our throwing and catching was awful. Last week our tackling and running was awful.

We also have blocking and kicking problems.

  26. Ludicrous Speed Says:

    Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:
In my mind, Jameis will be back in the saddle again, next week.
Why ? Because we really need to see what we have, or don’t have with him

Anybody who doesn’t know what he is by now really hasn’t been paying attention.

  27. Stevbobucsfan Says:

Say whatever you may about the qb’s on this team. But this offense was rolling and now Fitz and Jamisl both look bad. What’s going on down in tampa. I think players are just tied of the losing and they don’t have a coach to light a fire under their ass

  28. LakeLand Says:

**I meant 2 red zone turnovers**

  29. @ZammyPup (IG) Says:

Now hoping we tank the rest of the season to get the best possible draft selection.

I’m tired of being punched in the balls each week.

At least “praying for the tank” doesn’t compromise my hope.

Because Team Bucs will deliver on the losses.

Honestly, not even sure I have it in me to watch anymore.

    Hate this.

  30. JimmyJack Says:

I’m tired of watching a team that doesn’t practice. People all over this city work their asses off for a blue collar living.

We don’t just expect more from our football team, we deserve it.

Yep, you guys got more cash then the average fan but you are beneath us. The include all these lazy players, a lazy front office and our lazy owners.

  31. Dooshlarue Says:

Aside from having lost all confidence in Koetter, the biggest reason I’d like to see him fired is so I don’t have to read Joe’s new stupid intro….. Bit-O-Honey snacking BS.

Good god you are ridiculous with that sh!t.
I’m sure your interns tell you it’s hilarious though.

Oh Joe…… you are so funny.

  32. SilverBuc Says:

Rod Munch, it’s just laughably entertaining at this point, lmao.

  33. Gofortheface30 Says:

You slack jawed Jameis/FSU fans are hilarious are so many ways . Maybe, just maybe if Jameis wasn’t busy making an a$$ of himself by eating W’s, fumbling, and throwing interceptions – then perhaps there wouldn’t b “Jameis haters.” Perhaps your number one pick from that women’s school in Tallassee that got b-slapped by Notre Dame last night, wouldn’t have been benched. How about accepting responsibility for “America’s quarterback” (herrrr derrr) instead of running in to your respective safe places and blaming others instead. God you guys are such complete trash

  34. Rod Munch Says:

Dirk isn’t head coaching material, said it in year one, the game at home against Denver, when Winston was having a bad day against the league’s best defense (had the same numbers as Cam and Luck who Denver had played), in the 4th quarter of that game, down by 2 scores, the Bucs get a big play on 3rd and long for a 4th and short in Denver terrority, and Dirk punts the ball. After the game he’s asked about that punt and Dirk throws a fit saying why would we bother going for it, it’s not like we moved the ball all day, we weren’t going to get it (something like that wording, not exact). Just think if a player gave up on a play then post game just threw a hissy fit saying it didn’t matter, we were going to lose anyways.

That’s Dirk, he’s not head coaching material, he doesn’t have the temperament, and right now he’s mad that the Glazers made him fire his buddy Mike Smith so he’s tearing apart the team before he’s evicted from the building.

  35. Gofortheface30 Says:

You slack jawed Jameis/FSU fans are hilarious are so many ways . Maybe, just maybe if Jameis wasn’t busy feeling grabby, and making an a—of himself by eating W’s, fumbling, and throwing interceptions – then perhaps there wouldn’t b “Jameis haters.” Perhaps your number one pick from that women’s school in Tallassee that got b-slapped by Notre Dame last night, wouldn’t have been benched. 36. LakeLand Says:

    The Glazers made their bed

When they fired Lovie and promoted Dirk to Head Coach
There were a lot of candidates out there

  37. TheNorm Says:

Lmao Fitz has 400 yards 4 times this season alone.

Your idiot Winston has only had 400 yards like what? Once? maybe twice?

    Lol.

That’s ok Winston will get another shot to further prove he sucks and is in no way worth 20 million.

  38. LakeLand Says:

Even Lovie and the Garbage Fighting Illini has more wins

    That’s sad

  39. Heavye Says:

#14 is still losing games!!! LMAO!!!!

  40. Buccfan37 Says:

The Bucs are just out of sync playing defense, gaining yards, resembling a NFL team.

  41. GhostofSchiano Says:

He really doesn’t need anymore playing time to increase his free agency value.

  42. Bucs 14 Says:

The Cult of Magoo really loved this post Joe.

  43. K_Bassuka Says:

This team has gone downhill ever since crazy Koetter decided to bring this loser over. Just mindboggling to think anyone would want their young QB learning from Suckpatrick then complain when said young QB plays like the teacher.

TB last two seasons w/o Suckpatrick 15-17
Bring in garbage Suckpatrick and we are 8-16 and spiraling out of control.

Koetter, Suckpatrick and Licht hasveto go. Like yesterday!
