DJax Doesn’t Deny Trade Request

November 7th, 2018
DeSean Jackson

Confidential conversations.

For the first time in a long time, Bucs star receiver DeSean Jackson spoke to the local Fourth Estate members. It was certainly the first time he has appeared in the locker room for media availability since rumors surfaced he wanted out of town.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Jackson had requested a trade just before the trade deadline. Asked if the report and rumor was true, that he spoke with Bucs AC/DC-loving general Jason Licht, Jackson played rope-a-dope.

Jackson only said that conversations between him and Licht are confidential.

It is obvious he requested a trade. Licht has not denied it. Bucs Bit-O-Honey-snacking coach Dirk Koetter hasn’t denied it (claiming he didn’t know about it). Even Jackson’s mother on Twitter didn’t deny it.

  1. Jmarkbuc Says:

The trade deadline has passed Joe.

This is a moot point now. Eight more weeks and the whole thing gets blown up, if there is any justice…

  2. 813bucboi Says:

and i bet when djax requested licht told him the glazers wont let him wheel and deal anymore…..probably told djax im outta here, and so are you….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!

  3. Lord Cornelius Says:

    813 I hope so.

I’ll be super dissapointed if Licht is retained. Moreso than anyone. The GM is supposed to have the ultimate vision for the team.

At least that was the position Licht was put in. He picked the staff. He ran the personnel and roster. No excuses. Done. How the f*ck can you keep the guy?!

  4. Dewey Selmon Says:

Anyone ask him why he isn’t returning punts?

  5. LakeLand Says:

The Bucs could have gotten at least a 4th for him

  6. Season Is Over Says:

Why would you ask him a question you already knew the answer to if it is obvious he requested a trade? Why didn’t you ask him which QB he prefers?

  7. Realbucfan941 Says:

I heard they had a gentleman’s agreement… Licht would honor his trade request IF he actually laid out to catch a ball, or pretend like he’s trying to catch ANY ball that’s not dropped in his arms.

We all saw Jackson must have changed his mind about leaving.

  8. Joe Says:

Why would you ask him a question you already knew the answer to if it is obvious he requested a trade?

Joe is not a fortune teller. Had no clue whether he answer or not.

Why didn’t you ask him which QB he prefers?

He is already on record answering that question and Joe wore about it minutes after he said it.

  9. TBB2017 Says:

lol, joe why do you call dirk bit-o-honey snacking?

  10. Defense Rules Says:

Let me make sure I understand the concept here Joe. If a GM or a coach or a player (or his mother) DOESN’T deny a rumor, then it’s automatically true. So I presume that the reverse also holds: If a GM or a coach or a player (or his mother) DOES deny a rumor, then the rumor is automatically false. Unless of course they’re not telling the truth, then the rumor would be true. Still confused, but I got it. Definitely worthy of Washington politics.

  11. Bucsfanman Says:

Lord C- The more you look at it, the more it makes sense regarding Licht.

  12. D-Rome Says:

If a future HoF wide receiver doesn’t want you as his QB, why should anyone else?

  13. Joe Blahak Says:

He’s a prima donna, no surprise there. They’re quiet until they don’t get there own way. Everyone knows he prefers Fitz, cause the other guy is horrible. So, his request should give you insight on how bad WinSTUNNED is. They worked together in the off season too. First hand glimpse of WinSTUNNED’s ability or lack there of. Djax can go with McBOY and WinSTUNNED for 2019. They’re all useless in building a new team and identity.

  14. Troy Says:

I’d be curious as to the records of the teams this guy has been on. Just saying.

  15. Season Is Over Says:

Yes, you proclaimed it is obvious he had requested a trade. That is where you claimed to be a fortune teller. I gave the redundant hypothetical question of why not ask him which QB he prefers. What was the intention with asking this question of Jackson? I just fail to see the journalistic approach.

  16. Libucfan Says:

He’s a diva…probably a cancer in the locker room. They should have traded him and never looked back. There is a reason he’s not in Philly and In Washington anymore.

  17. Seminole Bill Says:

DJax was brought onboard to be the deep threat the Bucs lacked, but all through last season he was a non-event, mostly because Jameis’ deep throws were inaccurate. So why wouldn’t he want to be traded? If the Bucs QB can’t make the deep throws consistently then we don’t need a deep receiver; we need another Mike Evans who can outjump the DB’s that cover him.

Now, with Fitz at QB I suspect DJax will be a happier camper.

  18. adam from ny Says:

we are gonna hit our stride once again folks…like weeks 1 and 2…we should win a few games in the second half of the season…i’m predicting a 4-4 run…to a 7-9 finish…which on paper doesn’t look all that tragic…but if you know sheet, and are a bucs insider, a 7-9 final record completely sucks and mega changes need to be made…

if we lose to the skins on sunday tho, disregard this entire post…lol

  19. 813bucboi Says:

    LC

yeah….i supported licht but when he whiffed on c.campbell, drafted rojo over guice, didnt trade for carlos hyde, didnt sign breeland, didnt sign eric reid(who picked fitz off sunday) i said to myself, he has no idea what he’s doing…..

i honestly think the brains behind the entire operation was Jon Robinson because once he left, it seems all of lichts mojo went right with him…..

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!

  20. adam from ny Says:

    facts for sunday:

the redskins don’t do much when adrian peterson has an off game…

when peterson is on, they win…stop peterson sunday and we will win the game

  21. DB55 Says:

Fact: djax has a career 56% completion percentage, apparently Fitz is the only QBs that can hit him.

  22. LakeLand Says:

    Washington defense is the key

They stunk the field against the Saints and Falcons
But when they hold teams, AP do his thing
    And they win

  23. Not there yet Says:

Another opportunity missed. Dude asked for a trade but apparently licht evaluated the roster and thought having d jack and Fitz would matter. Could have gotten a nice draft pick

  24. 813bucboi Says:

would love to know dirks record in nov. and dec. against winning teams….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!

  25. Afrika The Rapper Says:

I live down here in the Washington,DC area. WE HAVE TO WIN THIS GAME !!! This Redskins team is very over-rated. If we just play within our strengths, we’ll be fine. Eliminate the turnovers and run the damn ball. Offensive line needs to start earning their pay. Can’t say sh*t about our defense cause it is what it is. Pray that we get a win on Sunday because we fans need something/anything positive about our beloved Bucs so badly. Go “Bucs !!!

  26. Neal Says:

What with this “Bit-O-Honey-snacking” prefix you keep trying to shoe-horn in on us? I cringe every time i read it…

  27. Afrika The Rapper Says:

@Neal I believe someone asked Coach about his favorite Halloween candy and that was his answer. Now do me a favor and find out what’s up with the ‘America’s Quarterback’ stuff ?

  28. Kobe Faker Says:

“Djax is very talented but why has he been traded 3 times already?…Serial Drama queen”

“This is why there are wife beatings”

    Kobe Faker

  29. Clw JB Says:

3 game run coming up, followed by 4 out of 5 losses (Dallas) – if they finish 7-9 or better everyone is coming back and we are going to hear the injury, suspension, rookie development excuses…less than 7-9 and the owners have no choice but to clean house…get your popcorn ready!!

  30. Clw JB Says:

check out Raheem’s run and the record of the teams they beat on way to a 10-6 record…getting back to 6-5 would be a false hope scenario just like that

Even if they do win three in a row it just proves we are slightly better than the 3 of the 4 worst teams in the NFL -CLE-NYG-SF

the skins are smoke n mirrors with the injuries to the Oline and D -look what the Falcons just did to them in their own house…

If we lose this week, just fire everyone and forfeit the rest of the games…

  31. AndyInLa Says:

Where did the bit-O-honey nickname come from?

  32. Rod Munch Says:

Why would he want to be here with a coach who is going to be fired and a defense that is historically bad and the best case scenario for the season is 6-10. I don’t blame him for wanting to leave, and in any case he’ll be gone in a few months since he always had a 2-year deal.

  33. LakeLand Says:

If the Bucs win their next 3, they will be 6-5
If Carolina lose their next 3, they will be 6-5
If New Orleans lose their next 3, they will be 7-4

    Atlanta is 4-4
With 2 of their remaining games against winning teams

It’s hard to overcome a 3-5 start in the NFC South

    These teams are too good

  34. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

I’m still on the clean house after this season boat but for ishs and giggles let’s say the Bucs keep everyone and cleaned out the defensive staff?
Bring in a new (competent) D coordinator, keep a top 5 offense, and maintain continuity in the front office?
I’m just curious what you all think that would look like?

  35. Lamarcus Says:

They should just cut ties with CancerJax while in the trade deadline ….

  36. JimmyT Says:

    Hey D ROME
Future hall of Famer my ASS!! DJAX doesn’t hang the moon! When he leaves an organization they win. CASE F ING CLOSED

  37. Ed Kerber Says:

I am officially OVER Jason Licht. I thought he should have been still making this team better. I think K.Mack could have been the man that when added to the Bucs D would make a huge impact. The Bucs did nothing. Ameer Abdulah could have added a spark to the running game. The Bucs did nothing. Bruce Irvin could have been added to strengthen the Front seeven. The Bucs did nothing.

Why am I surprised when the Vikings, Saints, Bears, and Falsons are all improving, yet when the Bucs take the field (repeat after me) they do nothing.

  38. GhostofSchiano Says:

The fact that ZERO trades were done by the tradeline pretty much says it all.

If the Bucs do anything less than 7-1 for the remaining 8 games, Licht and Dirk are gone.

Then again maybe that will not even matter. I think they are gone.

  39. BigMacAttack Says:

Why wouldn’t he ask for a trade? Seriously. Djax isn’t the problem with this team. He doesn’t have many years left and time to waste on a team that sucks, with no direction. This team is floundering.

  40. Buccfan37 Says:

The Bit o Honey is to keep Dirks teeth stuck together so he can’t bite his tongue at the comedy he is watching from his troops.

  41. passthebuc Says:

    do you blame him??????????????

  42. Dapostman Says:

The difference between DJax and Winston is like night and day. One is a flash no effort me guy. The other is a grinder who lays it all out there even when making dumb mistakes. I’ll take the effort guy. Buh Bye DJax.

  43. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Joe, couldn’t this headline just as easily have been ‘DJax Doesn’t Confirm Trade Request’?
