DeSean Jackson

Won’t play Sunday

Bucs speedy wide receiver DeSean Jackson will not play Sunday.

That’s the word from Bucs Bit-O-Honey-snacking, Ozark-watching, yams-eating coach Dirk Koetter. It relates to his thumb injury suffered last week.

Why don’t we just put this chump on the injured reserve list already?

  2. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

Why don’t we just put this chump on the injured reserve list already? I doubt if you will know the difference.

    Clown ^

  4. Troy Says:

Oh No! LOL! He makes me sleepy with his play and his attitude.

  5. HowToSpellRhonde Says:

I bite my thumb at thou, mouth-breather!

  6. macabee Says:

Bad idea! If you can practice, you can play! I would have kept DJAX in the lineup. Would have simply lowered his targets. When he’s in the game he must be game planned for and accounted for. Still a threat. We lose that advantage without him! #jmo

    now pay hump!!!!!!

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  11. Kevinator24 Says:

No that’s Hump’s spot lol. Watson should be the active 4th though.

  12. Kevinator24 Says:

@macabee honestly, I would rather have Godwin starting opposite Evans. Desean and Jameis just don’t have chemistry, for whatever reason that may be.

  13. SOEbuc Says:

Hump got me 30 points against the Panthers week 9 and I wanna see J-Watz break out. Very excited.

  14. Season Is Over Says:

It makes no sense to have him on the team after his public acknowledgement of not wanting to be here. Greed has overcome respect within the organization. It is why the players walk all over the team. This guy should be out of here just like Winston should have been suspended by the team. You are essentially saying money is more important than team cohesion. Which makes every single thing the team has said useless. Respect must be earned from the top. Koetter had this guy as team captain a few weeks ago. If the Bucs don’t respect themselves they will never earn it from others.

  15. Realbucfan941 Says:

^. Same here. More production with Godwin. Watson will prob give guys a breather. I see Auclair playing a bigger role in the passing game.

  16. Dewey Selmon Says:

If you’re starting Hump in FF your teal probably sucks.

  17. TPro76 Says:

    Addition by subtraction. Bye.

  18. Dapostman Says:

How did Mesean hurt his thumb? It was probably stuck up his…………….nvm.

  19. Bobby M. Says:

Godwin is a better receiver for Winston…A) he’s youngry and trying to still get paid…B). More athletic/bigger frame…simply easier target for Winston. Won’t shock me if Winston tries to go long with Godwin just to prove a point.

  20. El_Buc941 Says:

Oh no! Who will ever fill in the #2 WR position?!not to mention the #2 TE position!? Only if someone had drafted 2 playmakers to fill in those roles…..oh wait! AC/DC loving GM Jason Licht did! Haha.it must suck to be defensive coordinators knowing that Godwin and Brate are playmakers that will fill in those shoes to the inch!

  21. AlteredEgo Says:

yeah…it’s Djax fault Jamyth can’t throw accurately …DJax has a proven record of success in the NFL

  22. Wausa Says:

Desean is terrible for a locker room. Put him on IR and trade him away after the season.

  23. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    Yay!

  24. AlteredEgo Says:

I’d take a team full of DJax’s over a team full of Jameis’s every day of the year ! He is not a cancer…he plays hard and wanted to be traded from this dysfunctional franchise…he plays hard and keeps his mouth shut

  25. Cobraboy Says:

Maybe that’s why he ran into the lockerroom on Sunday. Some get pi$$ed when hurt.

  26. Dapostman Says:

    @Altered Ego,

hahaha. Mesean catches less than 4 balls a game and has a catch percentage of 56% when an Average receiver has 63%. All Mesean has is once in a while he makes a big play. That’s it. Guess what though a TD from anywhere is the same as a 50 yard TD. 6 points.

  27. Joe Says:

I’d take a team full of DJax’s over a team full of Jameis’s every day of the year ! He is not a cancer…he plays hard and wanted to be traded from this dysfunctional franchise…he plays hard and keeps his mouth shut

    1. Traded from one team, allegedly because he was always grousing.

    2. Left his second team and the second team made no attempt to keep him.

    3. Goes on national TV and says he wants the backup quarterback to start. Then when it becomes clear the backup will go back to being a backup, begs for a trade.

Yup. Sounds like a pro’s pro to Joe.

  28. Buc1987 Says:

    MeJax can go.

    So can BucAnthem too.

    🙂

  29. Fun Guy Says:

    Joe, well said.

  30. Jerry Jones Says:

Djax is an amazing athlete and hes only proving that he is NOT a pros pro.

  31. AlteredEgo Says:

You guys are funny…..someone hits you in the hand with a hammer….and you blame the hammer…SMH

  32. orlbucfan Says:

Good riddance. This offense won’t miss him.

  33. BrianBucs Says:

Obviously his hand was not hurt while fighting for the ball

  34. The Buc Realist Says:

Its a shame that jw3 can not make the throw to the most explosive wr in the game!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. SB Says:

Awesome. Godwin gets more targets. Good for the Bucs and good for my FF team!

  36. BrianBucs Says:

Obviously D-Jax did not injure his hand by fighting for the ball

  37. donuts Says:

I was pro DJAX all season but his behavior the last few weeks are telling. Joe is right he is not acting like a professional and his team membership history is not positive due to his personality.

    GoBucs!

  38. BucdUp813 Says:

Meanwhile Jimmy Grahamp laying with a broken thumb lol

  39. Jason S. Mclaurin Says:

I just feel they should keep him around one more season. The whole thing from a development standpoint. I like how Desean has been on Winston and pressuring him Winston needs that from him honestly. The play calling just doesn’t happen because the coaching focused to much on the deep ball connection between the two. Give up on the deep ball and just let it happen but use more end around and reverses with Djax and Hump

  40. D1 Says:

    Dapostman,

I’m going to have to point out the obvious. DJax reception % vs the avg receiver is not in any way shape or form a good stat for comparison and ultimately to make a point. Jackson is primarily to the point of damn near exclusively a deep ball receiver. Avg league receiver catches 90% within 17yds from the Los. IOW, the percentage of completions in excess of 20yds from Los league wide is considerably lower .

Apples and Lamborghini’s are as good a comparison as what you attempted to do.

Bottom line is that DJax is a weapon. Unfortunately, the offensive coordinator doesn’t seem to know how to load and fire the weapon. Or change the scheme to get the ball in his hands sooner and hopefully on the run. I’m quite sure that there’s a receiver or two on the roster that is capable of stretching the safeties which would allow underneath space for DJax to run wild.

The people who claim that he can be replaced and the team doesn’t need him are flat out retarded. Don’t blame the player for being used in a limited and at this point inconsequential in terms of his production. The guy can flat out ball, get him the ball within a few yds of the Los
And let him run to the house.

Forget this single minded pursuit of the elusive deep ball. That’s on the coach not the player. And don’t think for a second DJax is happy within the scheme. He knows damn well he’s a home run hitter and he’s not doing it. Think about this when you question his desire to make plays, if it doesn’t matter to him it would be easy to say nothing and collect the check.
He is going to paid period, odd or damn right bizarre that buc fans would seemingly prefer a paycheck player to a baller. But then again, it’s a very good reflection on the losing mindset of the bucs fans.

Fans and team both prefer polite losing cuddly puppy dogs to the high maintenance pain in the butt outspoken aggressive alpha dogs. DJax is an alpha and the beta boys want him gone…….just great…..

  41. Dapostman Says:

    @D1,

Baller? You must see Mesean through rose colored glasses. 55 catches a season. Less than 4 a game. You are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts. Those are facts. Mesean is a one trick pony the 9 route. Bobo Wilson can run that route. Bye Bye Mesean.

    #IrrelevantReceiver

  42. D1 Says:

    Dapostman,

I wrote that his contributions to the stat sheet were inconsequential. I guess you missed the point. . Use DJAX for something other than the 9 or bang 8 and the stats improve.

He catches 4 passes a game..that’s the problem ! Easy solution and then what’s the next issue you’ll throw out.
