Here Comes The “Cowboy Blitz”

November 1st, 2018

“Power back”

Xs and Os talk is so much fun.

And Sunday’s game will be a unique chess match.

It always is when Cam Newton is on the field.

(Fun fact: Newton was Jameis Winston’s football hero when Jameis was in high school.)

However, you plan for the Panthers’ versatile attack, Newton is nearly always there to make the Superman play that screws up your defense. This season, offensive guru Norv Turner has Newton running more and, as is explained in this NFL Network Playbook video below, he is the Panthers’ power back.

Mike Smith’s brother-in-law and Super Bowl-winning coach Brian Billick watched, as Joe did, the Panthers carve up Baltimore’s No. 1-ranked defense last Sunday. And Billick can’t imagine what might happen against the Bucs.

Also, Ryan Fitzpatrick better be aware of the “Cowboy blitz.”

It’s going to be a long day Buc fans. Football is a very easy sport if you can run the ball you have a chance of winning. If you don’t you throw the ball you give the defense a chance at a turnover every time you put it in the air. Man I don’t care who starts but be ready for an a$$ whopping. We cannot run and our pass blocking is suspect at best. It’s Fitztragic time bank on it. Maybe it’s not Winston maybe we just suck ass a team.

Hopefully the coaches realize they have nothing to loose and coach balls out crazy. Don’t let the kicker take the field, blitz, get creative and play and coach fearlessly

Have faith, Bucs fans, all is not lost; even a broken clock is right twice a day.

To beat the Pnthers, Our running game must be on. Their Defense will be ready. And Cam’s really playing good right now. Tough game in Carolina. Pray that we are clicking on all cylinders come Sunday.Carolina surely will be.

Grt1- Stop it!! Haven’t you read the comments? It is all Jameis’ fault that we have sucked for 3 years under these coaches. Who cares if we are 32nd in NFL in total defense? Who cares if we have had the worst kickers in the league during that time? Who cares we have the worst ST in the league? Who cares if we have had the worst running game in the league. Who cares that we have had the (cough, cough) worst coaching in the league for the last 3 years? Jameis was the #1 overall pick so he should be able to overcome the rest of the entire teams ineptitudes. No wonder he is trying so hard, if he doesn’t do it himself, no way we can win. Don’t know if anyone noticed a totally different offense with Fitz in there, back in shotgun with the field in front of him, never turning his back on the defense. Able to get a quick release off. The coaching is what is holding Jameis back, 100%. He just has to stop pressing and take what the defense gives him to try to prove his own coach wrong. He also needs to stop throwing the ball directly to the other team, however, but I believe he will if Koetter/Monken allow him to be back in shotgun like he should be. Designed rollouts where he one of the best in NFL outside the pocket. And better routes run by receivers/RBs etc. Oh and better pass protection would help too. Don’t know if anyone who saw was the Offensive rookie of the month? Quenton Nelson, but we got Vea. Thank God because who the hell would want Nelson/Derwin/or even Fitzpatrick on their team?

  7. Evolvingbucsfan Says:

Winning fixes everything. Winning, not a win, but winning. Put together this game then the next and keep it going. Do what it takes, figure out what doesn’t and just win, good, bad, or ugly, just win and keep doing it. If it was just that simple.

    Go Bucs!!!

  8. LakeLand Says:

    I watched the Panthers-Ravens game

    The Panthers were blitzing
    CB, LB, S

CB Donte Jackson and S Eric Reid got a sack

  9. 813bucboi Says:

I hope we win but idk….newton has now found “touch” with some on his passes and taking care of the ball….defense is still thumping teams…..hope we pull a win out….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!….#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  10. LakeLand Says:

The thing I like about The Carolina Panthers

They plays to Cam Newton strength
They know that he’s not a Dan Fouts
They let him do what he does best

7 full seasons, only one 4000 passing season, 4051 yards

The Panthers could have ruin him
By trying to make a pocket passer of him

  11. rrsrq Says:

Hoping they come in over confident. I think the team rallies around Fitz and the defense carries over from the second half. We will need Curry, JPP and GMC to have a great game and LVD needs to nel let McCaffrey loose, maybe that is why they are activating Javien Elliot

  12. CRABMAN Says:

fitz is gonna make jw look bad…. this is a top 3 offense when used right

  13. #1bucfan Says:

The optimistic side of me is like yea babe Bucs are going to eat the panthers up then reality hits an I’m thinking now dam we might be prey for the panthers haha let’s go Bucs

  14. Rod Munch Says:

Does Fitz throw 3 or 4 INTs in this game? I’m guessing 4, and then the Winston haters will talk about how none of them are his fault.

In any case the defense will give up at least 34 points – so unless you’re willing to take chances to move the ball you’re going to lose in any case. But as we know, the most important thing in football isn’t wins and loses, it’s not throwing INTs, unless you’re Fitz, then it’s OK because it’s not your fault and the Steelers game proves that since none of those INTs were on him.

Anywho I actually hope Fitz does play well and wins the game since the season is over if he doesn’t, and if that happens then Dirk needs to be immediately fired, which means rebuild, which means another decade or two of losing, in particular if in a rebuild the team is so stupid as to dump their franchise QB who has lead the Bucs to the NFL’s top offense.

But in any case the defense is giving up 33 points a game, and you’re not winning when your defense gives u that many points. But yeah, blame the NFL’s top offense for not getting it done. LOL!

  15. Kord Says:

Bet we actually get a few picks and get in Newton’s face and win another buzzer beater. Nobody expecting that and not sure if I am either but what the hell trying to stay positive
