Ryan Fitzpatrick Honored At The Pro Football Hall Of Fame

October 2nd, 2018

Yes, there is positive Buccaneers news this week!

Canton has come calling for Ryan Fitzpatrick, specifically the Week 3 jersey of the Buccaneers’ backup quarterback.

Fitzpatrick will be honored at the Pro Football Hall of Fame for becoming the first NFL quarterback to throw for 400 or more yards in three consecutive games, a feat he accomplished to open this season.

Joe still finds it stunning that Fitzpatrick was the first to do it, considering all the legendary retired QBs and the superstars in the game now.

It’s likely Fitzpatrick’s jersey will be honored much like the exhibit there that marks the historic start of Bucs 2005 rookie running back Cadillac Williams in 2005.

Williams set a record by becoming the first player to rush for more than 100 yards in the first three games of his career. And he did it in style, 148 yards at Minnesota, followed by 128 yards at home against the bills, and then 158 yards at Lambeau Field in Week 3.

Eventually, somebody will tie Fitzpatrick’s record. But it might take a while. Will a QB ever accomplish this milestone again and then be benched two games later? Now that record will surely outlast Joe’s years on the planet.

Congrats, Fitz! Very cool.

shows the talent the offense has and capabilities if utilized. and when they’re on the field the defense gets to breath!

GTFOH with that! When you look at all the players that have ever played the game over the course of its history, very few have done something notable to stand out. Cadillac Williams was one of those players. Fitz is now one of those players. When the Hall of Fame recognizes something like this, it’s a great honor and it’s worth celebrating.

Good for him, goes to show the weapons we have and what this offense is capable of if we give our QB adequate protection. Also you tend to throw a lot when you have 0 run game and your defense can’t stop a cold so your on the field a lot.

  19. Jim Says:

Great job, Fitz. I’m sure all Bucs fans are happy to see you honored and grateful for getting the team off to a good start.

  20. Dapostman Says:

New rules where WR’s run like gazelles and you can’t breathe on the QB or it’s a flag. Someone will throw for 400 yards four or five games in a row. A new record! Mitch Trubisky just threw 6 TD’s in a game. The NFL is becoming the CFL.

  21. Dapostman Says:

    92.3 = Joe Montana’s career passer rating.

92.4 = average passer rating in the NFL in 2018.

At one point Montana had the highest passer rating of all time.

    Let that sink in………………

  22. LakeLand Says:

The best 3 game Magic ever

Too bad Fitzrella lost his slippers

  23. James Walker Says:

The NFL have changed the rules making the game more offense friendly. Have people forgotten this?

  24. Lamarcus Says:

Fitz had a solid run and had me excited about everything. Thanks Fitz. I will never call you Fitzgarbage again. You proved me wrong. Thanks.

  25. Brandon Says:

And those 3 games pretty much was the greatest thing Williams did in his entire career. He had 3 more 100 yard games during his rookie year and very few after that. He was a flash in the pan… not too much different than Gruden’s other prized rookie performer, Michael Clayton. Rookie of the year followed up by being the worst catching best blocking WR in the world.
