This One Is On Dirk Koetter

October 28th, 2018

Waited way too long.

When America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, threw his second pick of the day, early in the game, it was clear Jameis was missing his breaking pitch. Or something.

As much time and effort and hot air that has been wasted the past week how Jameis has been playing Santa Claus, only a rockhead wouldn’t know better than to throw to the wrong-colored jerseys today. And Jameis, as we have often heard from Koetter, is no rockhead.

So that means Jameis was totally off today. Hey, it happens. Flip quarterbacks.

Koetter, for reasons not quite clear, chose to stay with Jameis and that cost him a costly game today. Bad enough Koetter went turtle twice in the game, once at the end of the first half.

There is no way Koetter can spin this one. He made bad decision after bad decision today. The one decision he did make didn’t come today, but it came months too late. Isn’t it obvious by now that Mike Smith should have been launched after the 2017 season? Should have been gone at the bye week.

There again, Koetter dragged his feet before it was too late.

Moose Johnston quickly defended Koetter for going for a field goal after he benched Jameis on fourth-and-three. Yeah, that’s normally the smart decision given the score — provided you have a reliable kicker, which the Bucs don’t have.

Overall, an awful game for Koetter. Only time will tell if today’s game was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.

The only thing Joe can think of saving Koetter’s scalp right now is if the Brothers Glazer who sign Koetter’s paycheck ordered him to keep Jameis in the game.

    THIS SITE BLOWS.

[Well, Joe just made your day then because you just got yourself banned. Never cool to go after the guy who owns this site. — Joe]

    On point

  4. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    STOP SAYING AMERICAS QB

    …….. it’s a freaking trolling joke

  5. Geno Says:

Joe really again. Place the fault where it lies.

  6. Season Is Over Says:

You are blaming Koetter for not wanting to crush his starting QB mentally and hoping he succeeds. Now that he didn’t succeed it is Koetters fault?

  7. Bucnut2 Says:

JOE has TOTALLY lost his mind!! This game is on AMT Winston!!! Say this was not an “off”day this is Winston’s career. Face it Lee, Winston Sucks!! Koeter is handcuffed trying to defend Licht’s picking him #1 overall!! Save what is left of your credibly!! Stop defending this bad turn over prone QB!!!

  8. JWBUCS Says:

Koetter needed to bench Jameis today, the moment he threw the 2nd pick… Four years with Jameis and he is not improving, NOT DEVELOPING. No Way This Team Should Keep This Guy and Layout 20.8 million dollars for him in 2019.

  9. TheBucsAnthem Says:

……… This loss was 100% on Jameis shoulders….. He lost the damn game Joe!

  10. Season Is Over Says:

In a perfect world we would have had Johnny Football.

  11. WutdaBucisthis Says:

    c’mon Joe…idiot
At least Ira will call it straight. Your angering your site followers Joe, stop this stupid Rhetoric. Losing cred homie

  12. Buc believer Says:

Oh yeah Joe, Koeteer is an idiot that is true but he is not the one who threw 4 COUNT them 4 INT!!! It could have been 5 but one was dropped! Put down your beer dude!!! Sheesh what a joke!!

  13. Don Says:

Joe/s my mind is blown with this post

  14. Frank Says:

Why do we continue to call him America’s QB? And why do we still “speak softly” , and why is Mark Doninik a rock star? All great questions.

  15. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Loss on Licht and his crappy personnel moves, like building an historically worst nfl defense and not having a kicker….

  16. Buc Neckid Says:

    Not the Coach
    It J3 the QB
The COACH took a Backup QB and turned him into Fitzmagic
All Fitz had to do is MAKE the Plays that are there
Not try to FORCE anything leading to Bad Decisions/interceptions

  17. Resurrection of Duff Says:

Joe is loving every minute of this.

But seriously is licht’s fault for not getting a new kicker. LOL

Jameis “I GOT TO GET BETTER” Winston is not to blame. Or was it Jackson for not putting enough effort? Lol

    YOU ARE FUNNY JOE.

  18. Bird Says:

This is what the joes do.

Trying to take blame away from Jameis. Blame the coach.

    You are a goon.

    Zero street cred.

  19. Broodlaw Says:

Joe stop it seriously you look like a foaming at the mouth zealot seriously saying that Koetter is to blame for this. Koetter didn’t throw 4 count em’ 4! picks today. I don’t wanna hear about how the damn wind was crummy either Fitz put up almost 200 yards and 2 TD’s to tie the game when our 1# overall pick from four years ago took a big fat crap all over our gameplan. Winston is a bust and a disaster, he will sink this team if it isn’t sunk already. And if Koetter wants to keep his job at least then let Fitz keep the ball and see what he can do. And stop with this America’s QB crap too already, we know that at least there are 30 QBs better than Winston and one of them is currently on the team, just enough already.

  20. WalkdaPlank Says:

So now it’s NOT Jameis’ fault he was so bad, it’s KOETTER’S fault for leaving him in so long??

Quit damage controlling Joe it doesn’t look good on you. This loss falls on Jameis Winston.

Koetter’s worst call of the day came when settling for a FG on 4th and 2 down by 18.

  21. BucsTO Says:

Right and if Jameis was benched after 2 picks you idiots would be roasting Koetter for undermining jaboos confidence. You guys ar a joke

  22. Bird Says:

    Stop tossing that man’s salad

  23. Red86 Says:

Where are the short routes, 3 steps drops, using running formations to run instead of shotgun and rhythm throws? I seen plays where all the receivers run deep routes with zero short dump out routes. This was the first time in a while our offense looked this bad no counting the Bears game.

  24. Geno Says:

Joe getting 3 on the board at the end of the half gave them a chance to tie the game. Which by the way, they did. Go for 7 at the end of the 1st half is a fan’s panic move but that is all you seem to be – a fan and not a real analyst of situations.

You certainly do not seem knowledgeable here. Ask Derrick Brooks whether going for 3 or 7 at the end of the half was correct.

  25. jimmer Says:

Hey Joe, Is Jameis-Jock-Sniffer.com available? It would be a more appropriate domain name for this site.

  26. satchseven Says:

I really think jw3 needs an eye exam. I saw him squinting in years past. I am a jw3 fan but something is off

  27. Rayjay1122 Says:

I only will continue to watch this Trainwreck if Fitz or RG4 play QB. Winston should be done in Tampa…..and the trade him comments ate funny……who would be dumb enough to trade for this guy. LOL

  28. day1bucfan Says:

I am the idiot for continuing to read this crap. This is on Jameis.

  29. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Actually

    There should’ve been 6 INTS!!!!!!!!!!!,
…… two were dropped by the bungles that shouldnt have been

    6!!!!! 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠

  30. DBS Says:

And. as usual you want to put this on someone else. And if he had put Fitz in after the second pick and lost you would still. Blame him for doing it. As long as we have been here we know how you are.

  31. Trench War Says:

    This must be ginger Joe

  32. LakeLand Says:

Their biggest mistake was not refusing to fire Mike Smith

Their biggest mistake was benching the NFL 2nd rated QB

  33. NJBucsFan Says:

So you’re blaming Koetter because Winston sucks too much?

  34. David Ferguson Says:

I see what you are saying Joe. But I really think this loss is on Name is. That 1st INT was bad. All he had to do was hit Hump underneath…the 2nd…was just unacceptable. Just throw the ball away. The 3rd. Terrible throw. The fourth, maybe not his fault but by that time who cares? He needed to make better reads. Be more accurate. He wasn’t. I’m a Jameis supporter but today he shat the bed!

  35. Not there yet Says:

Bad decision after bad decision sounds all to familiar when talking about this head coach and finally you’ve stopped defending his in game decision making. He has no other duties, he’s not calling plays, it doesn’t even seem like he interacts with players that much. Offensive coach and go no longer calls plus and sucks at game management. Should have cleaned house let year but for a franchise to be this bad for this long you simply have to start at the top.

  36. Bird Says:

    Jimmer

    That’s hilarious.

  37. Noles Says:

Yea Seriously Joe this is all JW & he is no one’s QB. This loss was not on Koetter… JL drafts have also set this team back.. Ronald Jones how did he oull his hammy walking the sideline…. MJ Stewart is laughabl.. Alex Coppa can’t even dress… Vea is not showing much this far.. Even though Whitehead appears to have some talent I would have preferred Derwin.. That was just this years draft mistakes… hate to aay it but they gotta scrap it all, we are not even close…

  38. NPRSageBoy Says:

Hey, Joe! Last time I looked, Koetter wasn’t under center. Blaming him for Jay Miss is like blaming the Titanic for the iceberg.
Jay Miss has more baggage than Samsonite.
Blame Lovie Smith and Jason Licht because America’s Turnover Machine should be the Titans problem.

  39. Philly Bucs Fan Says:

Hit the road Jack and don’t come back!

  40. Troy Says:

Probably the dumbest thing I’ve read today. But I figured you’d have a stupid excuse for Jamiss. Just curious about how many times Rogers, Brees, Ryan, Rivers, etc. have been pulled for their poor play (because, you know, it happens)? LMAO

  41. rrsrq Says:

Jameis is running the ball because he has lost confidence in himself. DK should’ve pulled him earlier, it wasn’t just a bad half, it has been a bad return. So yeah, stop playing for OT and coach as if your job is on the line, especially given how well the team has done on 4th down.

  42. Ed kerber Says:

Former 1st overall pick available for trade. Will accept a dirty dish towel or half-eaten sandwich. Please contact Jason Licht at One Buccaneer Place if nterestrd.

  43. Bucrazy Says:

Listening to the radio post game report. They are talking to Fitzpatrick in the locker room and screaming and expletives beeak out in the background so they send it back to the studio.. any info Joe’s?

  44. Danny Says:

I’ve been a patient Winston defender, but it’s done. He’s as good as gone. Let Fitz finish the year and see what this team can do. Next year sign one of the likely veteran FA’s that will be available. This team is not that far away with a consistent QB and better Defensive and ST play.

  45. Papa Giorgio Says:

Joe, America’s QB? Grow up, another trash article

  46. Bird Says:

Fitz starts this game , the bucs win.

Bucs were stuck at 6 points for most of game. What a joke.

  47. tgregs Says:

Joe was also a staunch proponent of the mental giant Josh Freeman till the bitter end. Joe KNOWS QBs…..LOL

  48. RTG Bucs Says:

Already a second article defending Winston?? joejameisfan.com needs a head writer that can squash these nonsense articles!!

  49. Bird Says:

    Ed kerber

Half eaten sandwich is about right

  50. HowToSpellRhonde Says:

For the naysayers, Joe has always been a bigger Koetter a$$-kisser than he has been of Winston, at least imo.
I ageee with you, Joe. Koetter owns this loss as much as anybody.

  51. NaplesBucsFan Says:

So when the HC leaves a QB who is givingthe ball to the other team, in the game, and he throws a pick 6 it’s not on the coach?!?! How is Joe wrong?? JW should have been gone after the 3rd INT if not at half time, so yeah it’s Dirk’s fault for sticking with a bad player. Does Belicheck(can’t think of the right spelling) leave in crappy players? Pull him before that series and we’re playing for the lead at the end, not a tie. JW should not have been in the game on that series, PERIOD!!! Of course JW sucks and the INT is on him, but the HC should have pulled him!!!! Joe is not making an excuse for anyone!!

  52. Bucrazy Says:

Listening to the post game radio report. They are talking to Fitzpatrick in the locker room and screaming and expletives break out in the backgeound. Any info on this Joe’s?

  53. Danny Says:

I’ve been a patient defender of Winston, but it’s done. He’s as good as gone. Let Fitz finish the year and see what this team can do. The defense still needs a lot work, but there is a ton of potential with guys like Smith III and Whitehead. Coaches are fighting for jobs now.

  54. The Real Malloy Says:

    Losing credibility Joe..

  55. Pete I Says:

What a joke this article is.

  56. IE Buc Says:

Who kept Jameis in the game until the 3rd Q and 4 INTs?…Koetter!! He needs to go. Let’s see what Todd Monken can do as HC. Give him the chance to right the ship and finish the year.

  57. NaplesBucsFan Says:

This article had nothing to do with defending JW…y’all just wanna hate on someone who is most likely done for the year…but the HC needs to manage his team better than that! A RB fumbles more than once and he’s benched, so why would a QB with 3 INTs still be in the game?!?!

  58. Dooshlarue Says:

DB55, webster, gilhealy and even Buc1987

What can you possibly say to defend your boy?

    Nothing?

    Correct.

  59. stpetebucsfan Says:

If Koetter truly believes Jameis is seeing the field at an elite level then Koetter should be fired TOMORROW.

How many national experts….former players, GM’s, coaches and others are questioning what the hell JW is seeing out there?

I haven’t heard ONE expert defend JW any more.

Remember the story of the scorpion and the frog? Scorpion begs the frog to swim give him a ride and swim him to to the other side of the stream and Frog says but you’ll sting me!!! Scorpion says that would be crazy if I sting you I’ll drown and it would kill me too.

Middle of the stream scorpion stings the frog and when the frog says with his dying breath…why did you do that now we’re both going to die! Scorpion’s response….because I’m a scorpion and that’s what Scorpions do!

Jameis why do you keep making stupid decisions and throwing stupid ints….Jameis reply…because I’m a turnover machine and that’s what turnover machines do…throw ints.

We’re four years in gang…why do we still believe JW is going to turn this around. The past is considered prologue to the future.
Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

How many freaking cliches do we need to show us the error of our ways?

  60. NaplesBucsFan Says:

You’re making too much sense IE Buc

  61. Longtimereader Says:

Hey Joe. I’ve been lurking on your site for a decade it seems like. This is the first time I’ve posted. Quit putting the blame on Koetter. This is on Winston. This team has all the pieces, but need a little polish. Koetter has done a decent job, and the constant coaching turnover over the last ten+ years has only put us further in the hole. Please stop with this propaganda. In back to pack “articles”… “In no way shape or form is Joe advocating for Dirk Koetter to be removed as head coach of the Bucs ” followed by the headline…. “This One Is On Dirk Koetter”. Your words are dangerous, and you know it.

  62. Vincente Says:

Joe will ban you if you say anything hurtful. You run a football site and expect everyone to be nice to you joe. What a pansy. Just like your favorite QB.

  63. Troy Says:

Ed, why would anyone want to give up a perfectly good dirty dish towel for Winston? The towel can at least be cleaned and reused. Winston’s done. Joe doesn’t want to admit that, but anyone who actually watches the games can tell you Winston’s career is over. It’s Freeman, part 2. He’ll be one of those guys who gets a few tryouts, maybe gets signed for a bit, but won’t actually stick anywhere for a significant amount of time. He’s survived this long because cutting him now means licht is signing his own death warrant as the Bucs GM. Can’t miss on the overall #1 pick in the draft and expect ownership to keep you around.

  64. SteveK Says:

    Bs, Joe D.

    Bs.

    Bs.

Jameis did himself. In. Blaming Koetter is cowardly.

  65. passthebuc Says:

Missing his breaking pitch, JW is 2 beers short of a 6 pack

  66. Season Is Over Says:

Kicker still was the difference in the end.

  67. SteveK Says:

    Apologists blame Koetter!

    Unbelievable!

Jameis is the #1 overall pick and blew up. Bye bye!

  68. gambelero Says:

I predicted we’d go 12-4 in 2017. Then I told everyone here I think Jameis is headed for the HOF.

Now though, I can’t see us staying with him after today’s game. All four of those INTs were on him. And several were really terrible. You have to go with Fitz the rest of the year. Still we had four offensive turnovers and no defensive takeaways two weeks in a row and we nearly won both games. Turnovers will even out with Fitz as QB, and our defense made the adjustments to get five stops and four three and outs (I think). When has that ever happened? If Fitz is named starting QB, we’ll be heavy favorites 3 out of the next 4 games.

  69. BuccoDav Says:

    That’s just nonsense, Joe.
You guys have touted that JW is our Franchise QB. You don’t bench a Franchise QB for a bad half of football, unless you never plan on playing him again.
It sounds like you are trying to deflect blame away from Jameis.

  70. RTG Bucs Says:

I think he had to leave him in to see how he reacted. I know everyone can see that he isn’t the guy but this puts a stamp on it. I wish he was the guy, tired of starting over every couple of years, but sadly that looks like the road we are on as Bucs fans. Oh well, it’s a Bucs fans life.

  71. Mike Johnson Says:

LMAO here while pouring another Scotch. The article says, This ones on Koetter? Hell, they are all on Dirk Koetter!! Galzers already got there new coach aquisition comittee working. This teams not gonna reach 8-8. Maybeee 7-9 at best. Fitz’s magic will not last more than 2 games…. If that. Our record says we are a below 500 team and..thats what we are.

  72. passthebuc Says:

The correct move would have been to sit JW today so you could git something for him tomorrow. Now he would not fetch a towel boy.

  73. SteveK Says:

    Jameis sunk or ship

  74. rfdes Says:

Not buying it Joe-Joe… This is your attempt to shift the blame from JW. Koetter went for it several times on 4th down. So, he took plenty of risk. The field goal was the right call before the half. He was very consistent with the run game, so no complaint there.

It’s time to stop the love for JW. He does not have ‘it-factor’. He can throw 600 yards per game and doesn’t matter, the problem is ‘he doesn’t WIN’. Favre somehow figured a way to WIN, not JW.

  75. WillieG Says:

If you succeed in getting Koetter run out of town, I sure hope you will be men enough to admit how wrong you were when #3 continues his with his idiotic play under the new head coach. But I suppose you’ll tell us that it’s just going take time for America’s (joke of a) quarterback to learn the new system. Then, I guess you’ll blame the new coach when JW has had plenty of time to learn the new system but still makes stupid mistakes.

  76. CT Buc's fan. Says:

I sort of understood why it was necessary to get Winston back playing despite FitzMagic doing as well as he was to start the season.

The Buc’s had to find out what they had in Winston so they could know what to do moving forward.

Jameis is young, and I imagine that one day he’ll do good for some other team, but if I were GM I’d be awful tempted to pull the plug on him. Trade him for a 7th round pick in 2022.

  77. John B Says:

The 1st pick was horrible throw cost us 7, well 6 at least

2nd was a rookie mistake, take the sack- just a horrible decision

3rd pick Horrible throw just like pick 1 – time to sit

Pick 4 is on the HC completely and is the true difference in the game

  78. John B Says:

    Sorry JW time is up

  79. JabooBuc Says:

What’s great about this is that Joe is finally going to be right. JW is really about to be America’s QB in that anyone in America can have him for peanuts.

  80. stpetebucsfan Says:

    @Joe

Tech question about who called the plays today? Perhaps it’s been reported but I haven’t seen it yet.

Koetter had the play card with him today and seemed to be working the headset pretty hard in the second half. Perhaps he was just working WITH Monk.

  81. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

    Ed Kerber
Great post, but I’m gonna wash the dishtowel and finish the sandwich, right after I drink this IPA.

  82. Hodad Says:

Joe is right. Koetter should’ve pulled him before his forth, count them four interceptions. Just proves though Joe Jameis is not America’s Q.B., and Koetter is not a winning coach. Throw in the meathead, they all need to go!

  83. Joe Says:

Don’t think the Waffle House menu means anything. Dirk carried that around in New Orleans.

  84. JabooBuc Says:

Joe, just admit it like I did, you were duped by his performance while at FSU. Fact is he played on a stacked team that propped him us. His talents are greatly exaggerated. Physical skills may be there but he’s an absolute head case. Time to come to terms and let him go…

  85. c-spann Says:

I’ve been a JW supporter from the jump. But this really sealed it for me. It is time to move on from him. Just need to deactivate him and have Griffen as the back up

  86. Cobraboy Says:

My heart has grown cold over Jameis Winston.

I do not enjoy watching him play anymore.

    He’s the Chocolate Trent Dilfer.

  87. Petty Officer Buc Says:

I hope Koetter reads this post and never answers another media question from you guys!

How TF do you blame Koetter for Winston doing what he is best at, TURNING THE BALL OVER!!!

Anything to deflect blame and criticism from JW3. It’s like the Giants fans defending Eli. Oh it’s the coaching, it’s the suspension, it’s the D-Jax Chemistry, wahh wahh wahh!!!!!

Put up a Winston confidence poll!!!

  88. Bucnjim Says:

Any other questions as to why Winston wasn’t voted captain? Or top 100 by his peers? Or top 150 Million by women in his age bracket?

  89. Marlow Says:

JW is garbage and this is another point the finger elsewhere article!

  90. Swanee Says:

Season is over,,,,, absolutely the Head Coach takes the responsibility.. He and now You make this team about Winston.. Not about Winston’s confidence or let’s give him chance after chance. All about Winning, there is nothing else. The Head coach must be fired. By the end of the season is not soon enough. The better quarterback sat on the bench for 3 quarters . No explanation for it. His stubbornness and ineffectiveness as a talent assessor has cost him his career a long with the GM. The decision to sacrifice an important nfl game and not put Fitzpatrick on the field is inexcusable and disservice to Fitzpatrick and Fans who financially supports this business…

  91. SteveK Says:

Joe D. From Illinois on this take.

It’s not about hoping Jameis does poorly, it’s about seeing the truth and wanting Joe D. To admit that Jameis stinks. Can’t do it, won’t do it, but it should be done.

  92. SteveK Says:

Calling to blame Koetter is a ‘“FSU-apologist” thing to do.

  93. stpetebucsfan Says:

It’s going to be a bargain basement shop a thon for QB’s this off season for team that are desperate.

Experts today were pointing out that Mariotta will probably not be back…Bortles? Jameis?

Sometimes a change of scenery can do a player good…but I wouldn’t want the first two and now I’m not sure about Forrest Winston either. Whatever there’s going to be some interesting QB decisions especially when the top two draft picks in the entire draft just 4 years ago were both QB’s expected to meet in the SB may be on the block.

  94. J Says:

Don’t call Joe out on his dumb article he might ban you.

  95. Jason Says:

We all know which Joe wrote this article

  96. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Mike Johnson

Lol, I’m right there with you brotha. Just poured my second glass of Tawny.

  97. J Says:

I think Koetter was under orders to play JaBoob

  98. Greg Says:

Koetter did not want to draft Winston, did not want to bench the beard for Winston, its Jason Light and the Glazier boys. Glaziers dont have a clue and Light cant build a team. I feel bad for Koetter. He may not be the Answer but he aint the problem!

  99. JabooBuc Says:

Can we stop with the FSU bashing on this JW thing? I went to FSU and wanted JW to succeed as i would hope anyone would who was also a Bucs fan. He showed promise early on and made enough plays for one to think he could be a star in this league. Even today he made some throws that make you think he has something.

However, i can’t deny that i have seen enough to know it’s over for him in this town. His erratic play and stupidity off the field can no longer be tolerated and i am for letting him go.

Let’s not kid ourselves though regarding the choice at the time. It was JW or MM. So far, the answer is a big NO on both of those options. Back to the drawing board….

  100. SteveK Says:

    Jaboobuc,

    My apologies for “FSU” hating.

    Agree with you.

  101. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    oh

Well we only bash the FSU apologists for Winston…….not all FSU homers

  102. JabooBuc Says:

Thanks SteveK. I do know that some FSU fans will defend him to the end but i do not take his failures to mean something negative about my university. He played on a great team in 2013 with a ton of players that ended up in the NFL. Unfortunately, i believe the greatness of that team inflated the talents of JW or all of the off field issues have ultimately destroyed his confidence.

Regardless, I have no problem saying i have seen enough. He no longer plays at FSU and would like to see someone else in Tampa.

  103. tbbucs3 Says:

Yea Jaboo, Ppl love to hate on FSU and its fans. But I dont hear them talking about guys like Derwin James who would shouldve drafted. But as another FSU fan, Id have to agree it looks like Jameis time in Tampa is hanging on by a thread.

  104. tbbucs3 Says:

Whatever college a player went to I could give a damn. I just want good players. From Alabama to Fairmont St I could care less. Its about winning. Hopefully some of you can put your agendas aside for a moment and grow up.

  105. B-Rad Says:

Joe blows my mind with some of these articles. Coaching is fine, Winston just sucks and would make any staff look bad. Nice to see defense playing better with all the injuries. Fewer INT’s should have a positive affect on the defense.

  106. Jeagan1999 Says:

This loss is on JAMEIS WINSTON! Period……end of story!

Should Koetter have pulled Winston earlier in the game? YES! But Koetter wasn’t the one who threw those picks! Jameis was!

73 turnovers in 48 games! That is NOT what a “franchise” quarterback does! That is not acceptable! I wish Jameis well in the future, just not in a Bucs uniform!

Time to admit drafting Winston was a mistake and move on! Fitz for the remainder of this year, and a new QB in the draft or free agency.

I think Joe was trying to point out that Koetter waited far too long to bench Winston today. He should have been yanked after the 2nd pick. I think this L starts the Glazers coaching search and they should start sending feelers out about replacing the GM as well. Lets face facts Buc fans: the 2015 QB draft did not have the talent everyone 5hought it did. Winston and Mariotta are basically a pair of Bortles……

  108. Pit Says:

The only one going after Kotter is Joe. Jameis the garbage of America

  109. Bob in Valrico Says:

    @Jaboo
No disrespect for being a FSU and Jameis fan , Your education provided you the ability keep an open mind and question things you have doubts about and you deserve respect.

  110. FortMyersDave Says:

FSU fans are having a rough season with bus driver Willie Taggert at the helm in Tallahassee. I can feel their frustration especially after the Clemson debacle.

However I have to point out that Winston has been afforded every opportunity to lead this team and he simply has not gotten better. In fact I would say he has regressed since season 2. He has one of the most talented groups of skilled receivers at his disposal and he misfires so many times yet Fitz steps in and looks like Kurt Warner in 1999. Simply put. Its time to start Fitz and Koetter waited 2 picks too long to bench JW like he waited too long to fire (or be forced) to fire Smitty. Fitz give the Bucs a shot at being respectable and if JW averages 4 turnovers a game the Bucs lose almost every game and end up 4-12 or 5-11 and still miss out on a good qb in the draft because the Giants are gunning for 1 and 15.

Joe….your integrity is now at an all time low. I’m shocked you would even throw this post up. have fun with your propaganda site. you are now considered the fake news for Tampa sports.

FortMyersDave: FSU will be back and i believe Willie will make it happen. Jimbo has been letting that program go for the past 3 years while working to secure his next gig. Willie inherited a mess and he needs to get his recruits in to make it happen as it is an entirely new system. I will give him 3 years to see what he can do but i do believe he will make it happen.

  113. FortMyersDave Says:

JabooBuc, Jimbo did leave FSU with the cupboards rather bare it kind of reminds me of what Oscar Meyer did in Gainesville after his run with Tebow was over, citing exhaustion and then jumping at the bit to coach up in Columbus. I like Coach Taggert, he is a local guy out of Bradenton Manatee, hopefully that helps him recruit the SunCoast. Overall bad week of football in FL! Buc, Bulls, Noles Gators , Jags, Canes and Fins all lose! Joe has that clean a sweep ever happened before???

    Jaboo

I think you’re probably right. It’s college ball where the single most important thing is what kind of talent you can draw.

Taggart is a good recruiter with excellent contacts throughout the state of Florida. These rotten games are hard on Nole fans for sure…since I root for all Florida teams yesterday was AWFUL..The Noles..the Gators…Bulls..all the teams I rooted for got whipped…but for the NOLES…Taggart wlll now be able to recruit with an honest promise of playing time EARLY in the recruit’s career. In 2 more years the Noles will be back. The Gators solve their QB issues and they are already back or at least close.

  115. Darin Says:

Alot has been on Koetter that u havnt called out too. The guy is in over his head. Should have canned tbe staff after last year. Couldnt believe they survived more than i couldnt believe they won the first 2 games. All seems like a faded memory now. Theyll be fired this time ans once again a year too late. Unless the Glazers hire someone who can hire a real coach it will repeat itself
