Not sure how anyone can vote confident…

This guy is the definition of a lame duck..emphasis on lame.

He wouldn’t Fire Smitty, then waits until the bye week passes and Smitty gets fired anyway, granted not by him, to make it even worse….

  2. Dapostman Says:

Come on these polls are so predictable. Bucs win and confidence goes up. Bucs lose and confidence goes down. It ain’t rocket science.

  3. James Walker Says:

Perhaps this site should change it’s name to JoeBucsWhine

  4. 813bucboi Says:

    no confidence

This weekly poll is really a poll on the Buccaneers, not an single individual. That said, I voted confident for the first time in nearly two years. He’s given up offensive play-calling, he fired Mike Smith, and the Bucs have one of the best offenses in the NFL.

I think many of his decisions will eventually be too little, too late. He should have fired Mike Smith in January. The Joe’s love Dirk Koetter because he’s a good quote, but most coaches that are good for a quote tend to say too much.

has he given up play calling? I see him referencing his play card. Maybe he has, maybe he hasn’t.

Oh, I don’t think there is anyway he fired Smith..No Way at all..Dirk is

    I agree…..

I think dirk is still calling the plays and I think the glazer boys stepped in with the firing of smitty….

    @d-rome

we don’t have a good “offense”….we have a good passing game that’s it….running the ball we still have a long ways to go….

  8. lewis Says:

Bucs will lose to the browns and we will see about who is confident

  9. Rod Munch Says:

Monken said today that everything he does as a play caller is an extension of Dirk’s overall plan – so that tells you why the Bucs went from wide open in week one and two, to Dirk coming out after the Eagles game saying we MUST run the ball, then suddenly in week 3 returning to the Dirk special of running it up the gut for no gain on first down and putting the team in 2nd and 9. To me that screams that Dirk has shut down the downfield play that was so successful in weeks 1 and 2, because that’s what a guy who is scared does, the team has some success, then he’s so scared of losing that success he plays super conservative.

It wasn’t Mike Smith that should have been fired, it was Dirk, and as I lobbied over and over again, Mike Smith should have made head coach, then you let Monken run the offense without Dirk’s interference AND you get a real DC that is allowed to run the defensive without Smith’s interference, and you let Mike Smith just do what most head coaches do, which is manage the team, make sure everyone is ready, be the tie breaker, get on people to their job, etc, something Mike Smith has done successfully and something Dirk, who shouldn’t be more than a coordinator, has never done successfully.

  10. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Too little, too late. Words that define the recent decision to fire Mike Smith. Really hope that Mark Duffner provides the spark needed for a complete turnaround, but I also highly doubt that he will.

I really don’t understand how it wasn’t clear as day that Smith just flat out had to be replaced after the abomination of a Defense he produced in 2017. And there were several very, very good candidates available, Vic Fangio especially would have been a steal of a hire. Nope. Just blame it on the players.

Speaking of players, I’m just gonna say it. Jason Licht made some head-scratching picks this year. I’m not even gonna bring up Derwin James, because Vita Vea has the physical tools to be a monster in this league, he just needs the time and coaching. But M.J. Stewart is a bust.

+The guy simply does not have the athleticism necessary to cover NFL receivers. And I just don’t know what in the world Licht and crew saw on tape that made them think otherwise, his college tape shows that he is a slow lumbering corner that can’t cover but is pretty good at tackling. Those players just dont have a place in the modern league. This pick looks really bad knowing that Dontae Jackson was still on the board.

I’m also down on Jordan Whitehead, not as much as I am on Stewart because he is a much better athlete, but he kinda falls into the same category. Underwhelming college tape, only eye-popping plays are all hits, and he struggles in coverage. Meanwhile in Seattle you have Shaquem Griffin flying all over the field making big plays like the one handed stud he is. Knowing that we ended up taking a linebacker later on in the draft, we should have just taken Shaq and gotten a tremendous value on a pure beast.

Instead we chose to draft a meh player coming off of injury in Cichy and he hasn’t done much outside of special teams. Lastly we have Ronald Jones, who I actually do believe will become a very good player because he is a gifted, gifted athlete who did a ton of great things at USC. But even saying all of that, I don’t think Licht can justify picking him over Josh Jackson, who had 1st round grades by pretty much everyone, and when we desperately needed a Corner.

Worth mentioning that We also could have taken Kerryon Johnson who appears to be the best RB of the ’18 draft not named Saquon Barkely. So yeah definitely not shaping up to be a great draft for Licht in a crucial year.

  11. Kobe Faker Says:

That is 1 thing i disagree with you munch…

Koetter is not a good OC and no one in the NFL will ever hire him as OC ever again

Klueless playcalling doesnt succeed in the new NFL

look at Mike Martz …he is HC at the new coming american football league

I dont see the quick slants, crosses and outs that Monken called to setup the deep routes. Monk had fritz get the ball out in 2 seconds to respect the short routes and then burned them when the secondary started cheating in

Kobe has been cheated! All Kobe wanted for Christmas was JW to QB under Monken playcalling for the rest of the year!!!

A few weeks ago on a flight home I watched Rick and Morty for the first time on one of those flights with the TV. Now I know what Schwifty means!

  13. Buc believer Says:

How can you have confidence in someone who was forced (no matter what he says) into firing an old geezer who had the WORST defense in the league three years running and then replaces him with another geezer who hasn’t been a D coordinator in close to twenty years??? Sheesh!!!

  14. Doctor_berto Says:

More confidence in Koetter than Licht

  15. Bucsfan77 Says:

during these polls i have always voted with confidence or higher I would like to change my opinion to little confidence, until he can develop into enough of the head coach so he can at least dabble into the defense he should not be any more than little confidence. that being said as much as I wasn’t a fan of him when he was here before I would like to see Raheem get a new chance at HC having both the knowledge of both the offense and defense will work strongly for a head coach. the head coach is responsible for both sides of the ball you cannot be completely clueless about one to the point your inept to be able to at least offer advice and change things that are not working

  16. Mike Johnson Says:

Lose to the Brown Koetter and your approval rating will go to less than 50% guaranteed. Why its not lower baffles me. Must be a trumpet-teer followers.

  17. Mike Johnson Says:

Lose to the Browns and my Little confidence vote goes to no confidence in you Mr. Koetter.

  18. Buccfan37 Says:

Koetter could be in over his head as head coach, just ok nothing special that raises the roof.
