Buccaneers 26, Browns 23

October 21st, 2018

A 3-3 record never felt so weird.

Man, Joe is exhausted. What a hot mess of a freaky and beautiful victory.

Two weeks in a row Dirk Koetter had opportunities to let his best offensive players do what they do best and win the game for the Buccaneers late in the fourth quarter. And each time Koetter thought that was a bad idea — and it bit him in the ass.

But in the end, it was goat-turned-hero Chandler Catanzaro burying a 59-yard field goal today to win in overtime.

The Bucs are the best soap opera in professional football. You just never know what’s next — good or bad.

The Mark Duffner defense was fantastic until Kwon Alexander went down with a knee injury that might be a dreaded ACL tear, per NFL Network. After that, it was as if the ghost of Mike Smith returned to haunt the defense. It just fell apart in all aspects.

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, was his typical gutsy, hard-fighting self, including his fourth consecutive game with two or more interceptions. Jameis took a step back today from his first start last week. It sure seems like Jameis will always be the bad-decision guy, including needlessly taking a sack late in overtime.

Are the Bucs a good team, or a terrible team? They are what their record says they are, whether you like it or not. They’re in the hunt.

Still, loads of questionable decisions by Koetter late in this game.

Stick with with Joe and Ira Kaufman for plenty of postgame fun.

  2. LakeLand Says:

The Bucs offense are getting worse every week

    13 turnovers in 4 weeks

    I don’t see a playoff team

  7. Sweeptheleg Says:

    Won despite Winston.

What a joke of a game.

    Pathetic.

Come on homers tell us how Winston is the greatest QB ever.

Today was a prime example how he is not worth 100 million.

    ITS THE BROWNS.

  8. MadMax Says:

Ugly win but its a win….bring on the Bengals….LETS GO!

  9. IndyBucsFan Says:

Would Koettet ever put #fitzmagic back in to save his own job?

  10. Ben buc Says:

can’t blame the game on Winston, Bucs should have won befor ot

  11. DB55 Says:

    🍿

  12. WalkdaPlank Says:

Can’t wait to see how all the FSU Bucs fans defend Jameis for this one.

This guy is not a franchise quarterback. You do realize he was drafted No. 1 overall right? And it’s his 4th year? This guy is a joke.

Oh yeah and Dirk can go too.

  13. D-Rome Says:

Jay-Miss sucked today and he was doing his best to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

  14. NJBucsFan Says:

America’s Turnover Machine did everything he could to lose that game.

  15. Gobucs Says:

How can anyone seriously believe Winston is anything but AVERAGE?

  16. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

This rollercoaster ride of emotions is going to kill me.

  17. J Says:

    Tua 2020

  18. NewTampaChris Says:

Sticking to my 6-10 preseason prediction. This team is awful; if not playing the Browns, this would end much differently.

Jameis is not our guy, long-term. Inaccurate to a fault, and those last two sacks showed he still has his head up his butt.

  19. WalkdaPlank Says:

We won in spite of Winston not because of him.

  20. Walter Says:

Jameis is holding the offense back, O Line looks subpar as a whole. This 3-3 feels like a lucky 3-3.

  21. LargoBuc Says:

Im glad we won but man. This team has a lot of questions surrounding them.

  22. BradentuckeyBuc Says:

…on a brighter note, great game by Spence!

  23. Lamarcus Says:

Garbage Bowl lived up to it’s expectations and happy the Bucs came up with the win

  24. WeAreLost Says:

The haters out in full force today lol

  25. lambchop Says:

JW is average, no two ways about it. He can flash if that’s what you’re looking for. But, it you want consistency, just count the INTs, that’s about the closest thing to consistency he has going for himself. There were again, bad plays all across the board. But, I’m tired of ppl making excuses for JW. This is the best you’re gonna get. Live with it or die with Fitz and ignite the offense again. If you can live with JW being mediocre, you can live with Fitz. There’s just more energy when Fitz is playing with same putrid OL, same stellar offensive weapons, and now the running game looks to be improving.

  26. JabooBuc Says:

There was no defending him today. He was bad when it matters most.

  27. Season Is Over Says:

Mayfield played more technically sound game. You could not tell year one from year four.

  28. Kgh4life Says:

Its great to get the win, the Bucs showed a lot of resilience when in seasons past they would’ve lost this type of game, however, i think this Bucs team is not playoff caliber.

  29. Iron wombat Says:

    They’re not a good team.

  30. Danny Says:

I’m not one of the anti-Jameis crowd. But it’s becoming more and more apparent that he just isn’t that guy.

I don’t see a choice but to roll with him the rest of the season, but unless there is significant improvement between now and the end of the season it’s going to be time to think about going in a different direction.

  31. Tee in South Florida Says:

Here we go. Fitzpatrick would have been destroyed if he played today. Jameis is streaky as heck. That interception OT cant happen. But it should never have come to that. Catanzaro you have 1 job. Geez. Why no Barber in the final plays. Wasted play handing it off to Quiz.

  32. rick Says:

Get real joe. this team is a disaster. The bucs got lucky with some rookie brown penalties. Winston being careless with the ball again, this team is not a playoff team.

  33. Doug Says:

Haters lol did you watch the game ?

  34. FairMinded Says:

Jameis just looks like he’s still working himself into game shape. He looked fatigued near the end on a blazing hot day. But he gave us every opportunity to win before the couple miscues in OT so how can he be blamed? It’s a team game and our team won. Go Bucs!!!

  35. BucfaninMi Says:

I’d like to see what Ryan Griffin has the rest of the way, clearly JW is not a franchise QB. He hit his ceiling, this is it.

  36. Bubba Says:

    Please dump Winston.

  37. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Put fitz back at qb, that win was just lipstick on a pig. browns offense sucks… joes you gonna do an article this week how OL is pathetic and how bucs DO NOT have a #1 rb? barber prolly back to 2.1 ypc again

  38. LakeLand Says:

I see a team that beat Cleveland in overtime on a 59 yard FG
    But I don’t see a playoff team

I’m glad the defense isn’t the ‘Scapegoat’ anymore

  39. NPRSageBoy Says:

Let’s face it; a W is a W. However, this is not a playoff team. Jameis isn’t a franchise QB; still no reliable kicker; the D still stinks to high Heaven; still no running game and the O line is beyond porous.
It’s a huge mess, buts it’s the Bucs.
Cleveland gave them all they could handle and then some. Add to that Kwon’s rumored torn ACL and the Bucs may have forestalled the obvious for a week.

  40. Bucsfan951 Says:

This win has me feeling like a just woke up from a drug and alcohol infused night next to a 300lb chick that I know I did EVEYTHING with. I just feel dirty from this win. I’m about to go do another line, take a shower and burn my cloths. See you fellas later

  41. BigMacAttack Says:

Jameis played well in the first half and complete garbage late in the second half and OT. Defense stopped every possession in the first and then after a Kwon gone, junk. The goal line stand was beautiful though. Can we trade McCoy now? Better without him.

  42. Erik w/ Clean Athletics Says:

    Jameis sucks

  43. Darin Says:

Dirk is Dirk. Cant expect a good coach after 3 lousy years. Questionable decisions by him every week. I was hooing theyd lose this game IF Dirk would be fired tomorrow. Glazers have yet to do that in season so Ill take the win. This team isnt ready to even go 8-8. Cmon Glazers make the move. But this time HIRE A FOOTBALL GUY TO HIRE THE RIGHT DAMM COACH! Last thing I wana see watching the Bucs every week is a HC making peewee football 101 mistakes.

  44. James Walker Says:

All that matters is the “W”. Nothing else matters.

  45. FR Says:

How will be able to compete against a good team? DAMN Winstow dont u ever learn

  46. Easy Says:

    Cue the Benny Hill theme

  47. Buc4evr Says:

This team is a tragedy and tried everything possible to lose. Only the Browns would want to lose more today. Guess Koetter gets another week….

  48. BigMacAttack Says:

    Complete sukfest

  49. Pete I Says:

They’re in the hunt…Joe said so.

    Winston sucks!10

  50. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

I’m one of the biggest JW fans, but c’mon man !!!

  51. Dave Says:

    Effing kickers !?!?!

JW made a couple bad throws, one was intercepted in overtime and then holding onto the ball for 25 seconds to take the sack in overtime. That was ridiculous. And I am a big JW fan, but get your head out of your asssss!!

  52. BigMacAttack Says:

    Start Fitz next week

  53. Bird Says:

Why is the play calling not effective now. Same guy calling plays as first 3

    Uhhmmmm

    Maybe it’s jameis ?
Doesn’t trust arm so runs for first down now
    Not accurate
    Stares down receivers
    Zero down field throws.
    Turns ball over every game.
You have to game plan on how he is playing now cause he is a roller coaster

No way you can give this guy 100 mil.
And call me a hater if you want. Not good enough for number 1 pick and just tired of the messiah worshippers making excuse after excuse Bucs win and Jameis gets credit. Bucs lose and everyone else fault

  54. Guzzie Says:

The Browns aren’t the old Browns, their defense is really good, shut down Brees, ever heard of him, 365 yards with no running game, a horrible offensive line, and Klueless as his coach

  55. bigdaddio Says:

Bucsfan951– But if we lost this game it would be that scenario plus she’s pregnant. Could have been worse.

  56. Dave Says:

I am also starting to think if they could get some serious pics for McCoy, maybe it is time to trade him

  57. c-spann Says:

IMO, the defense turned into the old buc D in the 4th. JW wasnt great but he wasnt bad either. Some of the playcalling in OT was bad. they had ample time to try some run play instead they try to get cute with an end around and proceed to kill the drive. This team needs a average run game very badly!

  58. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Man you people sure do love some negativity! At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if we won 59-0 or 26-23 the win still counts the same. On the bright side, defense made baby steps in getting better and maybe CAT will gain some confidence and get it together.

Oh well, at least we can still be known as Cleveland South, not the new Cleveland Browns.

  59. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

    Who’s next? 🙂

  60. Mike30#1Bucfan Says:

I think we need to give a Greg Williams coach defense a little bit more credit they got players all over the place that’s a good defensive team. Yes, Jameis was bad today!!! But stop it haters the kid is 24 yrs old by the time he’s 28 he’ll be what we want him to be a flat out star in this league!

  61. Season Is Over Says:

I guess it is a positive that Barber had 2.7 ypc to improve his season average.

  62. orlbucfan Says:

Earth to BBonzai: where are you at, fellow educated loyal fan? I am about to choke certain people who hold power over these players. When will I see the offense blossom? Sure ain’t gonna happen with the idiot coaches calling the shots. And the ownership???? Gag!

  63. Dreambig Says:

I have to say, I am falling off the Winston bandwagon. Enough time has elapsed to make a ruling. When he needs to be great, he is not. He does not have the ability to play the game between his ears, meaning he does not become cool and deadly. Quite the opposite. Between his fumbles and interceptions, the other team will always be in the game. I wouldn’t drop a huge contract on Winston after this year. He is a marginal QB who is going to yield marginal results. If Fitz was playing today, Bucs would have won by 14 points.

  64. CitruscountyBUC Says:

Everyone wants to blame Winston. He gave an NFL kicker the chance to win it with a 40 yarder!!! That should be a gimmie!

  65. DB55 Says:

WAIT! DID I JUST SEE A GOAL LINE STAND!!! SHIVER ME TIMBERS!!!!

  66. bigdaddio Says:

c-spann–The nature of our passing game with JW is that teams do not have to respect the deep ball. They can play man deep and JW is going to miss wide open receivers and muck up the back shoulder throw the vast majority of the time.

You want a better run game, put Fitz back in.

  67. JabooBuc Says:

Joe, quick question, would you trade JW for Baker right now straight up?

  68. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Defense isn’t the scapegoat? They gave up 14 friggin points in the 4th quarter.

  69. Cs2 Says:

Jeez Jameis played terrible today. Some Winston homer who’s arguing with me on Twitter said “oh he threw for 400+ yards”. Like the 2ints, 1 strip fumble, 1 botched snap and multiple bad sacks weren’t anything

  70. Ndog Says:

The offense overall today sucked today. Drops by Evans, Hump, Brate and a huge one by Howard. Donovan Smith got worked over today. The running game was horrible and Jameis made some fantastic plays and some mind numbing plays. But we won and that’s all the haters have been asking for so they should all be happy tight?

  71. adam from ny Says:

    hot mess indeed…

    but a win’s a win…

and catanzarro live’s for another week…if he missed he would have been the first monday team casualty

  72. IsrBuc Says:

Why didn’t HC trust his 1st rd. pick to win the game in regulation and chose to put his money on an untrustworthy kiker? Is it possible that the coach himself can’t trust winston that much? How low can you go??

  73. LakeLand Says:

    The win is good

But the turnovers keep piling up
You can’t turn the ball over 13 times in 4 weeks
There is absolutely no excuse for it
    It’s bad football

  74. bigdaddio Says:

JabooBuc–If I were Jason Light I would break my arm trying to sign that trade so fast.

  75. Phred Says:

A bad football team beat a truly awful team today. Barely.

The Bucs are nowhere near being a playoff-caliber team. What’s worse, there is no discernible path to being a playoff-caliber team with this GM, head coach and QB.

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. What behaviors have Jason Licht, Dirk Koetter and James Winston ever demonstrated in the past that would lead you to believe they are capable of building and leading an NFL franchise to the Super Bowl?

  76. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    My View:
I don’t care how we won. We needed badly to win and we did.

They defense was better. A little bit better.

They was I see it, the win buys us another week to fix the problems. We have the talent, so things should get better.

Our kicker has to be replaced, regardless of the fact that he won the game. If he had made his earlier stuff, we would not have gone into overtime at all.

The Browns defense looked pretty good to me. They are on their way out of the basement, so I don’t feel bad that we barely beat them. They have the makings of a really good team for the near future.

  77. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

put fitz back in he wouldnt miss djax wide open, pretty apparent jameis is not who the joes try to tell us he is

  78. Jawo75 Says:

I’m always happy to get a win. And the defense did look better minus the evil that dare not speak its name. But when is enough going to be enough with continuing to play Winston? He’s averaging 2+ turnovers a game, makes terrible decisions under pressure, and struggles to make routine plays. Deshaun Jackson having only 2 catches the entire game, which were both in overtime, should tell you all that’s needed. Until they make a change at QB1, we’ll continue to be a cautionary tale. Fitzpatrick needs to play next week no matter what.

  79. SilverBuc Says:

Jameis is so clutch, putting them in field goal range at the end of the 4th quarter to win the game and then hitting that clutch pass to DJax to set up the game winner…AGAIN. #3 took another step towards that contract extension today. Go Bucs!!!

  80. Season Is Over Says:

Why was Rodgers on the field at the end? Just because this website ignores the important issues doesn’t mean the fans do.

  81. Mike Johnson Says:

We will take it!! I’m so conditioned by my Bucs. I had no faith we would win in the end. But we did despite Jameis. And we actually had a DC roamin the sidelines exhorting his troops on instead of being in the pressbox doin research for NASA’s
next planetary expedition. The D played a little better today. And our Jicker redeemed himself..somewhat. GOOD WIN.

  82. Season Is Over Says:

Contract extension? lmao. He is lucky he isn’t benched. Hahaha.

  83. Architek Says:

I wish I could post images in here – I would show everyone how people that are not Bucs or Winston fans view him and a supposed Franchise QB.

    Hahahahaha

    I’m sure that’s “hating too”.

    Only Bucs fans Hahahaha

Ever heard of Byron Leftwich but with Steroids; that’s winston.

  84. Cgmaster Says:

Jesus you clowns bucs fans are hysterical. How many drives killed by drops today? I cant count at least 4. And in regulation he did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do and drive us for the game winning fg and we missed. His overtime was rough no defending that, that sack was brutal. But you all asking for a new qb haven’t watched a down of college football because there isnt any coming out period. Get over yourselves. And let me guess that strip sack ,which took all of 2.02 second and was the 5th fastet in the NFL was his fault. He was literary still dropping back. On a side note DeSean needs to go one or two plays without pouting. Although I laugh it the still clueless fitz fans. Hell never start unless Jameis gets hurt. Move on already.

  85. Bigtruck Says:

You’re right Joe, it just seems Jameis is just never going to get it or at least not until he’s 30 on his 3rd team. To be fair he did everything he needed to to get them down to a 40 yard attempt in regulation. But those 2 sacks back to back killed. What’s so disappointing is you see the talent on the field all over the place. I love the Nassib pickup, the defense responded well until the end and made plays when they needed to outside of 2 drives at the end of the 4th. Catanzarro would have been cut had he not hit the 59 yarder. Caleb Bennenonch is terrible and needs to be replaced as soon as possible. I’d be thrilled if Jason Licht used anything from a second round pick and down to acquire a quality replacement at both guard and corner. I hope Beckwith can get back on the field soon. I like the bigger body guy at MLB anyways.

  86. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

I was pleasantly surprised with this Defense. It was unrecognizable to the last few weeks.

Jameis played decent but those INTs were just awful. Right to the defenders, Idk what he was looking at.

People want to discredit his stats and point to wins and losses and now the same people are pointing to stats to prove their Jameis hate and ignoring the critical win.

  87. LakeLand Says:

Anyone that has a TINY amount of football knowledge

Knows that this is not a playoff team

Unless they fix the turnover problem

    This is not hate

    This is COMMON SENSE

  88. c-spann Says:

    @bigdaddio

And JW still got the team in position to win! 2 times!

  89. Alanbucsfan Says:

Amazing how they replace defensive coordinator and defense is 100 pct better.
Maybe if they replace Offensive line coach and running backs coach they’ll get similar results .
Watched some of Bears vs Patriots – both qb’s had all day to throw ball.

  90. AlteredEgo Says:

    I couldn’t watch OT….went to the garage and finished a project….
Another STAT for the Stat Carriers…

  91. Buc68 Says:

A lot of QBs have struggled with the Browns D. See Ben Rothlesberger in the opener and that was with James Connor running for 135 yards. Rivers was 11 for 20 but they ran the hell out of the ball.

  92. Erik w/ Clean Athletics Says:

We might need to organize a full-blown Fan Revolt until they start Fitzmagic…

  93. WalkdaPlank Says:

    SilverBuc

Idk what you’re smoking, but I want some!

  94. W is a W Says:

When they lose everyone on here complains, when they win everyone on here….complains??? Ummmm okay.

  95. Bucs14 Says:

Not going to become a super bowl contender with Magoo at the helm. He can’t hit a deep ball to save his life, and he is gonna get Brate killed one day cause he is inaccurate at any range. He is darn lucky he hit Djax on that final pass because taking those two sacks was rookie mistake. Magoo is not a franchise qb.

  96. Gambelero Says:

If Cat kicks the first FG, we’re talking about what a great game Jameis played. If O.J. catches the perfect pass to get a first down and go up two scores, we’re talking about a great team win.

  97. AlteredEgo Says:

Remember the 400 yard offensive juggernaut Bucs ?….the talent is there at every offensive position but QB

  98. Wesley Says:

It sure felt like a loss.

  99. Knoxville Buc Fan Says:

I’ll say it right here as a black man myself who grew up in Tampa. The rednecks came out of their trailers in Seffner and Plantcity when Doug Williams was booted out of Tampa. Now the sons of those rednecks are back and now you have social media to speak behind. No one can convince me otherwise it’s not a FSU thing, it’s not 2 int’s A game thing. It’s a racial issue. Ban me for life or delete this post. Don’t care!

  100. Nprbuc Says:

Winston should be converted to a running back and put Fitz back in as QB. Some totally bonehead plays by Winston. I haven’t seen how he has grown at all as a QB this year. Dodged a HUGE bullet this game. You can’t depend on other teams consistantly giving you first downs when your offense can’t do it on your own. Sloppy game by both teams but— ITS A WIN, Now let’s clean it up and start playing the football we are capable of. GO BUCS!

  101. SilverBuc Says:

Jameis is such a team player, trusting his kicker AGAIN to hit a game winner by hitting that out rout to #11, instead of putting it in the end zone.

  102. Captain Grumpy Says:

Two poor teams. Cleveland poorly coached on offense in the first half ultimately lost them the game.

  103. James Walker Says:

Need to start a JoeBucsWhine site.

  104. SilverBuc Says:

The Bucs and Jameis ate a nice juicy W today, nom nom nom!

  105. RamboL Says:

What are you guys watching, JW has maybe 1 sec every snap, oline sucked today.

  106. LakeLand Says:

    James Walker

People have been whining about the defense for 10 years.

    So what’s the difference?

  107. Duster Says:

Ryan Fitzpatrick needs to save dirks job, Jameis will be a New York giant by the end of the year.

  108. VFL98 Says:

Win is a Win! This isn’t high school, Cleveland has got talent and Bucs won and Winston did great and not so great. Same with every QB in the league. They won when there backs were against the wall. Great Job Bucs!! On to the next one.

  109. LakeLand Says:

People have always whined on this site

    But it’s only a problem

When they whine about the wrong player, unit

  110. WalkdaPlank Says:

    Gambelero

Jameis is a No.1 overall pick in his 4th year and if you thought he played “great” in this game even before the OT interception and sacks taken you are a fool.

  111. Ronteco Says:

I’d take mayfield over Winston in a heartbeat

  112. WillieG Says:

Winston sucks. Too many stupid mistakes. Too many bad throws. Too many sacks at crucial times. He can’t hit Jackson. He looks like a damn rookie.

  113. Bucco 2002 Says:

    Haha

Bucs lose… Cut Winston, all his stats are garbage time

Bucs Win… Cut Winston, he didn’t have enough stats

He had a good game last week and we lost. He had a bad game other than running this week and we won. Maybe, just maybe, you need to be able to run the ball and play some defense in the NFL to win no matter who the QB is. Call me crazy.

  114. VFL98 Says:

Hey KNoxviille Buc fan: Why bring race into it? That card is out of date man. I’m black and grew up near Lakeland and sure there are racist but trust me, my best friends were white rednecks . Quit drinking the Liberal Kool-Aid. By the way, true racist don’t watch any football because there most players are black. They don’t just pick one dude out if there true racist.

  115. Gobucs Says:

    @knoxville

You’re a racist. Stfu you fool. Winston is not an elite QB. So stfu you racist.

  116. D-Rome Says:

Jay-Miss is not the quarterback of the future. The sooner the team figures that out, the better this team will be in the future.

The next coach and GM will not want Jay-Miss.

  117. SilverBuc Says:

Jameis haters tears taste so good tonight!!! “Stats don’t mean sh/t, only wins matter!!” Jameis leads his team to a W tonight, haters cry!! Hahaha !!

  118. Troy Says:

If they talk about giving Jameis an extension, someone needs to put this game on before they do so. It’s JW in a nutshell and it’s not flattering. Too many mistakes for a franchise qb. Not worth $100 million.

  119. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Knoxville thats a super weak post that ppl cant say winston sucks wout being racist? GTFOH…. trent dilfer sucked too & winston is trent dilfer 2.0

  120. Scott O'DONNELL Says:

Winston isn’t the man that’s obvious to anyone with a brain. Docent have the accuracy and smarts

  121. LakeLand Says:

James Winston has 5 TD, 6 INT

Fitz has 11 TD, 5 INT

    This is all that matter

  122. DBS Says:

Hey scotty. the Defense did NOT give up 30 points today. Where the hell is the high powered offense with the #WeaponsforWinston? It should have never been this close to begin with.

  123. Bucs14 Says:

I think much of the problem we have with Magoo is him being a no. 1 pick, and not meeting our expectations. I think we were expecting him be a Brees, Brady, Roethlisberger level qb right out the gate. Whether he will get there or not is to be seen. Many say his numbers are good in comparison to where they were year 4, but much of Magoo’s numbers in previous seasons came during garbage time in 3rd and 4th quarters when game was lost. With him we can win, only if the rest of the team plays well. As far as a comeback type qb like Favre, Wilson, or Manning, Magoo is still too inaccurate.

    DBS

They should have beat Atlanta last week

    This offense is a FLUKE

    There I said it

  125. Reach87 Says:

Before we go all crazy on the QB, how many drives did he sustain? Why did the Browns get the ball back twice? How did we GET to overtime? Point being, Browns are better than you “fans” thought and IT IS A TEAM GAME. Get over you petty biases and you’ lol see that. And I don’t care who is the QB and I didn’t go to FRIGGIN FSU. OBTW, this is week 7…we’re still in the hunt. Stop trying to convince yourself and everyone on this site that a win is something other than a win and that we’re not still in the hunt. One week at a time. Go Bucs!

  126. tgregs Says:

This game was so funny that even I don’t care if America’s thug ate a W. What a comedy of two ridiculous teams

  127. AlteredEgo Says:

    Knuckleheadknoxville…..Doug Williams was great…Jameis sucks !

  128. DBS Says:

    Lakeland
They just might have if they got rid of Mike Smith sooner.
    There I said it.

  129. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Take off your garnet and gold glasses and really look at Jay Miss objectively. First of all, with all the off field problems, he can never be trusted. Second, he is inaccurate. There is no way to fix that. He’s in his 4th year and he’s going to get his receivers killed. He can’t even throw a simple dump off pass. Everything is high. He runs like a giraffe that was just born. He holds onto the ball too long resulting in sacks. Maybe we are stuck holding onto him for next year so we can suck again. I say, “Suck for Tua in 2020!” This team ain’t going anywhere except swirling around the bowl.

  130. MattSpy05 Says:

Lot of angry fans after a win…Bucs fans always going to complain

  131. SilverBuc Says:

Bad game overall by Jameis but he still led the team to a overtime win, this team is on an upward trajectory!! Go Bucs!!!!

  132. Reach87 Says:

PS: Winston IS the Bucs franchise QB. He’s worth what he gets paid by the people paying him. Is that anyone in this site? Your money? And did you see anything good about this game? Easy one: Nassib. Remember that when you’re teasing the GM and all of his moves. Go Bucs!

  133. Dan Says:

Winston is a backup caliber qb. Turnover prone. And not clutch.

  134. SilverBuc Says:

So many drops by the receivers today, could’ve been an easy win smh

  135. Ronteco Says:

Reach….we ain’t hunting anything with this team man.

  136. Reach87 Says:

Alvin, how many yards/TDS did the giraffe get today? How many first downs? Get real. He sucks because he runs funny. WE GOT THE WIN! Go Bucs!

  137. SilverBuc Says:

Jameis is so cool under pressure, you knew he would get them in position to win…. AGAIN. Mr. Clutch with a “C”

  138. Erik w/ Clean Athletics Says:

    MAYFIELD > WINSTON

  139. Reach87 Says:

Ronteco, I’m with ya. Sad. You’d think this was a Falcons site. Go Bucs!

  140. D-Rome Says:

AGAIN. Mr. Clutch with a “C”

    He’s not a team captain for a reason. He’s not a leader.

James Winston: 5 TD, 6 INT, 0 Player of the Week awards.

Ryan Fitzpatrick: 11 TD, 5 INT, 2 Player of the Week awards.

I am ready to call it quits with this site. It’s supposed to be joebucsfan. Why aren’t more of them/fans on here? I have been a devoted fan for, count them, 39 years. My MIL turned me on to the Bucs. She was a hardcore football fan. There’s a lot of hot air on here which needs to be edited/deleted out. When is that gonna happen, joes?

  142. Herbiebuc Says:

You can’t be a buc fan if your upset by a win. Winston was way above average his second interception came in overtime after James drove down the field to put us in position to win the game. Get upset with our kicker not jameis. But you get upset remember we won lol #patheticbucfans

  143. AlteredEgo Says:

Jameis is now tied with Mike Glennon for batted balls

  144. LakeLand Says:

    orlbucfan

My only complaint is the turnovers

And with Cincinnati, Carolina, Washington coming up

They need to fix that problem NOW

  145. Bucsace Says:

    Winston = Leftwich

  146. SilverBuc Says:

WalkdaPlank, I’m smoking that W tonight!!! Don’t cry too much, it’s just a game!

  147. Buccfan37 Says:

The game was good, anyway the Bucs win to ease the tension slightly.

  148. Kansas95Buc Says:

Can’t we all just enjoy a game lol

  149. Cobraboy Says:

Two decidedly below average teams and one somehow won.

  150. YucLife Says:

@knoxville I’m going to assume you barely graduated Highschool with a stupid comment you just posted on here about OUR QB being black and that’s why fans are so critical of him ?? I think you were just trying to get a reaction, but it just shows how out of touch you are !! Doug Williams is a legend just like Coach Dungy and I and others don’t judge someone by the color of their skin. JW ( the number 1 pick ) has regressed and his play has shown why he’s not worthy of a 100 million dollar contract. So much more to life than football and this country has way more important things going on, but yet you play the race card for absolutely no reason. Your ignorance is unwarranted and I hope you never post on here again !!! Start Fitz and pray we can get a shot at TUA because he’s the best QB I’ve ever seen in college and truly believe he will have a HOF career in the NFL and he’s exactly what the our team needs !!! He’s a born leader, throws a gorgeous ball, and has every attribute you look for at that position. I wish JW3 all the best, but I guarantee he will not be a BUC much longer .. oh a Knoxville I will pray for you because you need all the prayers you can get

  151. Rod Munch Says:

Kevin Pamphile ended up going on the IR for the Titans, but even on IR he’d be more effective than Evan Smith playing.

  152. FortMyersDave Says:

Lakeland. I do not think the offense is a fluke. It has loads of talent and performed well under Fitz. Jameis makes great plays but also idiotic errors and to be honest the talent drops a lot of Jameis’ passes. The kicker can not jake a 40 yarder at the end of regulation period. Bucs would be 4-2 if Koetter canned Smith after the Chicago game. Typical Bucs game but it was a W. Hopefully no more posts from TMax2/reality about Cleveland being superior to Bucs as today the Bucs tried to lose it and somehow the Browns refused the gift. A win is a win….

  153. Anonymous Says:

Jason Koetter needs to go I’m tired of em and his bad drafting we need to clean house

  154. Ed Says:

Game balls have to go to JPP, Nassib and Carlton Davis. Defense looked different than the other 5 games. Receivers were contested and they showed different looks that weren’t the predictable stuff we saw under Smith.

Offense is regressing badly, Chris Godwin was compromised physically by throws that a veteran quarterback wouldn’t make as he had to stretch and jump into defenders that could have destroyed him.

It’s hard to believe that Jameis can’t lay a ball with any touch. Playing against Matt Ryan and Drew Bree’s twice a year you would love to see some of their kills rub off on him.

  155. Warthog Says:

holy heck jameis haters are crazy as ever

if we had a kicker who could hit an XP, we win in regulation

none of this is on jameis
