No Bucs Are Claimed On Waivers

September 2nd, 2018

Among the unwanted

This doesn’t speak particularly well for the assembly of talent booted from the Buccaneers yesterday as every team made steep cuts to reach its 53-man roster.

Not one was claimed on waivers by the other 31 NFL teams, per ProFootballTalk.com.

The Saints, the Bucs’ opening day opponent, for example, had four players claimed. New Orleans also cut three of their seven 2018 draft picks.

Carolina had one player claimed and Atlanta had two. The Bucs were among 11 clubs whose released players had no suitors.

Of course, this bottom-of-the-roster dancing will have no bearing on the outcome of Sunday’s opening day, but Joe finds it interesting.

Marko Myers showed some promise. I think he should’ve got the nod over Elliott

  2. Anonymous Says:

BoBo Wilson could have come back to haunt us if he would up in the same division. Bring him back for sure. Dare Ogunbawale could replace Jacqiz Rogers

  3. Buccluck Says:

Bobo was the only one I was concerned we would lose. Luckily I think a strong group of receivers were available on the waiver wire to somewhat shield Bobo. He will be on the 53 man roster soon enough here in Tampa. There’s no doubt he has more upside than Freddie Martino. Martini was kept for special teams reasons after the Robinson and Tandy cuts.

  4. Buc believer Says:

Well THATS a relief!!! Signed the personnel manager for Publix and Yellow cab.

  5. BucNole Says:

what about US????? did we claim anyone yet??
If so – who got cut to make room??
I will be more than a little mystified if we dont pick up at least a few players as upgrades. . . if not and we dont look better on the field it will not be a good look for this coaching staff or FO

  6. Stanglassman Says:

    Bucs made no claims.

Practice squad so far is Bobo, O’Conner, Tanner H., D. Harris, H. Elliott, Dare O. and Boozer.

Sandburn will be the long snapper.

  7. westernbuc Says:

Most of the league made no claims at all

  8. Wausa Says:

    I don’t think that’s a big deal.

I’d like the Bucs to sign Bobo, O’Conner, Elliott and Ogunbowale to the practice squad

  9. Reality-is-a-Beotch Says:

Its a huge deal proves how lacking in talent this farm team franchise is compared to competitive nfl franchises

  10. Rojas Says:

Bobo resigned ? Didn’t see that anywhere.

  11. Rojas Says:

Nevermind I just seen it. Thankfully they god him back on the PS.

  12. Conte Piscatelli Says:

Perhaps a bigger sign of our talent level includes all the players who were already of the roster and can’t find work. Makes me wonder if our “good” players are actually good by league standards out just better than other Bucs.

  13. no_more_chucky Says:

    Completely meaningless.

mons and Odeesey 2000 can use a few extra bouncers They can also keep an eye open for JW and his crew when they hit the clubs.

  17. NJBucsFan Says:

No team wants Bobo. Stop overvaluing and overrating the practice squad talent players.

  18. Gene Deckehoff is my hero Says:

Bobo should be on the roster. Hes a sure handed returner and can catch passes… Jason Licht sooner than later you have to make good choices. I hope you read this Mr. Licht. Us fans invest time and money into this team that you continually mess up with your personnel decisions and draft picks. You should be held accountable for the strife and pain Bucs fans have felt. Jason Licht should be ashamed of himself for how bad he is at his job.

  19. teacherman777 Says:

O’Connor. Bless his Irish soul does NOT look like an NFL athlete.

Why waste a spot for him?

We need a truly athletic DE on the practice squad to develop.

    O’Connor has hit his ceiling.

This is another example of Licht and Koetter being too loyal and attached to their guys.

O’onnor is not an NFL caliber athlete.

  20. Mike Johnson Says:

Your Honor..None of my Bucs were claim off waivers.
Judge..I rest your case..for the season. And wish you luck.
You’re gonna need every GD bit of it too.
