Another NFC North Beatdown

September 30th, 2018

Bucs CB Carlton Davis, who suffered a groin injury, sits and watches his team absorb a beatdown by another NFC North team.

Do the Bucs have to pay off someone in NFL headquarters to not play an NFC North team on the road in September?

Last year, fresh off beating the Bears, the Bucs traveled to Minnesota and got absolutely beat to hell in a typical Mike Smith Special: his defense blowing chunks on the turf under a dome.

There were Bucs casualties too many to count, including Lavonte David and America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

This year, it was another trip to an NFC North team, Chicago. The outcome was worse. The Bucs got beat up alright, physically manhandled, but lost even worse.

Let’s cross fingers that next year the Bucs don’t travel to the Midwestern northlands in September. And if Mike Smith is still working for the Bucs, let’s hope he misses his flight.

  2. BucNole Says:

We have a way of making mediocre QBs look like HOF’s. . . until that stops and we change the culture of this team we will be a 500 team or worse

  3. Buc4life24 Says:

Expect to see a lot more of this if we continue to allow Mike Smith to lead our defense! Crazy is doing the same thing over an over…expecting a different result! Do something bold and logical Glazers cause we know Koettter isn’t canning his friend!

  4. Season Is Over Says:

What kind of NFL GM would put your team in position to start a 35 year-old corner next to a rookie CB? This decision was made after your number 12 overall corner looked like garbage the year before. And the five prior years of failure. So, pardon if we don’t blame Davis.

  5. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

The death nail in the licht/koetter regime will be when the cleveland browns DESTROY cleveland south in a few weeks, baker is a jet taking off, jameis and thebucs are the hindenburgh…. OH THE HUMANITY

  6. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

every rookie rb contributing and playing well by now EXCEPT ONE?!

  7. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

and awesome to see sweezy starting for the seahawks

  8. LakeLand Says:

Mitch Trubisky stats before the game against the Bucs
    9 TD, 10 INT

Mitch Trubisky stats against the Bucs
    6 TD, 0 INT

  9. Season Is Over Says:

Are we still not blaming the OL?

  10. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Yes, we are STILL not blaming the OL

  11. DB55 Says:

Joe don’t forget the Packers beating us with future HOF Brett Hundley at the helm. If memory serves me correctly he drove the entire length of the field and then ran straight thru McIceCream’s gap for the winning TD, of course.

I think the most pathetic thing about that game was the bucs were listening they heard us trashing this defense. The only reason for so many defensive breakdowns is that was mike smiths poor attempt at adjusting that garbage scheme. If you shut out the Steelers in the second half past week what other people excuse could there be for playing this way? Taylor Gabriel is fast but they’ve been practicing against d jack for 2 years so that’s no excuse.

That offense won’t score half of 48 in a game the rest of the year. He even played for the falcons so how were you surprised? Atlanta is going to destroy this defense, the only possible adjustment is a new coordinator, Mike Smith has already said he tried everything else last year

  13. America’s turnover machine Says:

Do I think Jameis is worth a new contract? H*ll no

  14. Joe Says:

Joe don’t forget the Packers beating us with future HOF Brett Hundley at the helm

That wasn’t a September NFC North road beatdown. That was an overtime loss in December.

  15. Sweeptheleg Says:

F U mike smith. You dumb as ses go out and draft corners that are better at press and make them play zone. You stupid mf er.

F koetter and Licht too for hiring your stupid no good as s

  16. Not there yet Says:

There’s only one reason why Mike Smith and dirk should keep their jobs after this

Come out and say Winston or Geraldini gave the pregame speech 😂😂
Every time they give a bad speech this team gets destroyed.

  17. Greg Says:

Jason Lights offensive line looks well… offensive! Please fire Mike Smith he was worst aginst the pass last year. So far same thing this year. His system sucks!

  18. Robert Says:

They need a new rule. You get burnt, you get benched. Both sides of the ball. You drop a pass, you hit the bench till your back up screws up and you get your chance again.

  19. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We may as well blitz all three LBs and both CBs on every play…..and hope the receivers drop the ball or the Safeties can make a tackle…..because we surely can’t put much pressure on the QB….He was able to just sit there and wait for a receiver get open….and they did….every time.

  20. Buc1987 Says:

Mike Smith prolly already has tons of money.

It’s not like he’ll be crippled financially if Koetter says goodbye to his friend.

The D may still suck after he’s gone, but he HAS to go. Enough is enough.

If he stays I’m voting no confidence in Koetter the rest of the way.

  21. Mike Johnson Says:

It was like..after our Defensive Front 4, There was no other Defensive players on the field. Chicago just..marched up and down on us..at will.
Come On Glazers..Show us you got a pair. FIRE SMITTY NOW!!!

  22. LakeLand Says:

    Mike Johnson

I believe Mitch Trubisky threw 6 TD in less than 20 minutes of possession

  23. I Just Know It's True Says:

Factually, the Bucs have talent galore per pundits, but I just know it’s true that the Bucs don’t really have talent galore, because who gets beat 48-10 if they do?When is the last time that the Patriots or the Steelers, or even Chicago have been demolished like the Bucs were today. I know it’s only one game, but lordy, I ain’t seen nothing like this in all my days.

  24. NPRSageBoy Says:

Rebuilt D line including #12 pick and multiple free agent signings; rebuilt secondary including 2 second round selections; D is WORSE than ever.

Highest paid C in league; Revamped O line; #38 pick at RB; STILL can’t run the ball.

America’s Turnover Machine back under center. Throws 2 INT in one half; Somethings lNEVER change.

Are you feeling it Tampa Bay?

  25. Season Is Over Says:

I felt like vomiting when Winston walked out there. It felt like failure. Not even Winston’s fault. The simple fact that he had to go out there was another failure to extend the “Lost Decade”.

  26. GhostofSchiano Says:

Does anyone know what type of “system – scheme” smith employs?

    Serious question

  27. James Walker Says:

Average QB? He had a 70% completion percentage coming into the game. Is that the new average?

  28. Joel Says:

2-0 start was a mirage. These are the real Bucs we got to see today.

  29. Anonymous Says:

Those good teams everyone talks about, the perennial playoff participants and Super Bowl contenders have one thing in common..it all starts in the front office. No quality GM has ever hired an under qualified staff. I know, “wrong because all of those teams have great QB play and a sound defense” We’ll the last time I checked the players don’t draft themselves and no fan has ever been asked to sit in on draft strategy. There’s only person that has the final say. This is Licht’s mess from top to bottom. Maybe blame extends to the Glazers, because since McKay left as GM, it’s been a train wreck since…Allen/Gruden, Dominik and now the latest disaster, Licht. Blame the coaches, the players, even the strength coach…they were all brought here by the limp powers that be. Yeah, it’s a Bucs life…
