Donovan Smith talks
When Joe first saw Donovan Smith outside the locker room at One Buc Palace today, he was wearing a brace on his bad knee and seemed to know Joe and Ira Kaufman were staring at it.
Smith greeted Joe and Ira but didn’t enter the locker room.
Twenty minutes later, Smith strolled to his locker sans the knee brace and absent a limp. He smiled and told media “I ain’t got time for you guys.”
But he also added, “I’m good.”
Hey, it’s an update. Certainly, Smith seemed upbeat and not like a guy with a serious knee injury.
Walking the locker room isn’t football, but Joe’s getting a good vibe on Smith’s status.

Hopefully he didn’t crumble to the asphalt in pain once he was out of view. Hope the big man is good to go in New Orleans.

I am hopeful Smith will be ready for week one, but I also doubt he would just say to you and Ira that he’s not good and is going to miss the first 6 weeks. I’m not trusting anyone in this organization about player injury status at the moment.
